life in time [Applause] I saw a lot of songs and I made some bad brush affected in my life ten thousand people watching yeah We're Alone Now and I'm singing a song to you I love you in a place oh the stars and the rainbows and tonight I'm gonna give you something special [Music] um [Music] [Applause] tell us about yourself I go to school out in Phoenix Arizona uh yeah do they also go to school [Music] [Laughter] and what are you going to do here for us tonight I'm gonna I'm gonna perform a song I wrote for you guys oh an original original yeah yeah an original song yes in life moments come violin because I was being bullied at school oh man it's because I had cancer I almost died oh yeah [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you [Applause] [Music] how is your health now well I've been in remission for almost four years [Applause] we hear too many stories about people being bullied but I can tell you one thing most people are bullied because they're better than the people who bully them yeah I think you have such an amazing talent such a personality and I would like to say something on your behalf to the bullies [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the director of this wonderful youth group for a little over 21 years oh wow and we're here to let the world know that we have some wonderful young people in the city of Detroit and wait wait wait wait [Music] I'm so sorry to interrupt you Holly but I have to tell you oh every young man and woman on the stage represents me and where I came from I remember sitting out my window in Flint Michigan dreaming and wanting to make it and wanted to be here and they're here and they did so well that I have to do this all it takes is one person to believe in a young man or woman for them to reach their dreams and you are that man sir [Applause] foreign [Applause] my dream is to become a star and make it to Broadway who's your favorite judge not only in because I've been oh come on somebody jealous tell us why you love her because um me and my sister have been following you and your brothers dancing for a very long time that's amazing foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] flattered that you would even look up to my brother and I with a voice like that with an energy like that because oh honey you have such talent and Grace you had something so special you have an Essence inside of you that has given you a gift yes and I believe that not only are you going to become a star and get your dream to come true but I don't think you need to wait that much longer man some shocking news you calling people wimpy dumb and a loser too leave them alone you have no idea what they could be going through may be different to you but they are humans too might not have found their safe place yet maybe searching around on the internet no luck though all he sees perfect images of Perfect People perfectly posing in front of their perfect house with their perfect family but is that about nothing more than a picture on their phone someone else's beauty doesn't take away from your own [Music] be unable to write songs might be my only safety and I know it really saved me and I know it really saved me when the world was crumbling around me everybody's falling but I am flying makes me feel like I'm super human I might just be that kiss Misfits have some powers that are really pretty rad what was the last line that ended with pretty rad Miss Fitz have some powers that are really pretty rad I loved it I think I'd know you from that one song that's incredible to stand up there with just a guitar I mean that takes incredible cajones I don't think there's maybe a more important issue now that social media is this thing that's pervasive everywhere we look young people not understanding that that isn't that big a deal when you look back on your life and you have schooled so many people in this moment and and and and I think I'm doing it [Applause] [Music] you put him up I need this to change my life and as you can see I'm a single mom and I was living in my vehicle while pregnant wait wait wait homeless you're living in your car I was before I gave birth to my son and um this will change my life by putting us in a home my own home [Music] and I've been waiting for this moment for all my life [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] and I've been away [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] environment do for a living for a living I I work at a high school and a college but I also run poetry workshops with youth in my city well that's wonderful wow yes I'm actually the first spoken word artist that you guys are ever going to have hit the stage so I'm super excited to bring poetry to y'all what is this one about so tonight's poem is actually uh an Ode to my sister are you close to your sister very much she's here with me now oh she's back backstage kind of well we already love you make us love your poem beautiful I got you for that I have two facts for you one I'm six feet tall and two love is the most vulnerable thing one will ever have and you must learn to hold on to it Loosely so when it leaves it won't exit so painfully on July 14 1996 an angel was brought to this earth her name Danielle Marie Gibson but I only know her as Puff her smile is as wide as the universe her eyes they glimmer like the star she is my world and my sister I just four years old at the time learned what it meant to love selflessly for on days and once my strength was but knee high seeing her smiling face would make my soul fly but on March 23 1997 I've been ground bound because she left Earth to go back home amongst the Stars right next to God but I was left here to manufacture wings out of tears and Broken Dreams yet I'm still haunted by these nightmares cause I have a really creative mind and sometimes it designs these alternate realities where she is still here still alive and all the things I wish we could have done I played again and again and again and I'm tired of playing God because I gotta come to terms with the fact that my sister ain't never coming back and that's the cost of love caring for someone so much that you can't imagine living life without them staring at a grave like how about I trade my six feet for yours but that's not real and I know I said earlier to hold on to love loosely so when it leaves it won't exit so painfully but if this pain and these memories are all that I got left of you I won't never regret these scars from just trying to hold on to you [Music] wow it is a wow my brother passed away the same year that your sister passed away man yeah I can feel your pain I know what this is I know what it is to have somebody taken from you without you knowing but he was very beautiful for me it's amazing to me that on season 15 it's the first time that we're hearing somebody of spoken word there was something more raw in the way it's like singing and talking and just being a human acapella no music no nothing just a raw heart beating in front of us feel your pain we feel your love you moved me to do this [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you're amazing buddy buddy thank you hello oh my God how many who are you so we are the northwell health nurse choir and we're here to sing for you today we're part of the largest health system in New York and we're 18 nurses have 18 000 nurses [Applause] what do you do for a living um I have not been working for quite a few years I've been dealing with cancer oh sorry no it's okay okay yeah I'm okay all right can I ask you a question how are you now uh last time I checked I had some cancer in my lungs in my spine and my liver wow so you're not okay well not in every way no [Music] I moved to California in the summertime [Music] I changed my name thinking that it would change my mind [Music] I thought that all my problems they would stay behind [Music] I was a sticky dynamite and it just was a matter of time yet all day oh my now I can't hide said I knew myself but I guess I lied it's okay it's okay it's okay it's okay if you're lost we're all a little lost and it's all right it's okay it's okay it's okay it's okay if you're lost we're all really Airy right students were so negative about my voice one caught me frog and she'd get the class in on the joke and it was relentless and I actually I was so in such a dark place I actually guessing this is probably where you dreamed of Performing and I can remember when I came to America for the first time when I was 20 odd years ago and that was a moment I'll never forget and I want to people trying to get you know noticed at the moment the song I'm gonna do today is an original song that I wrote and it's called Daydream I wrote at a time in my life when things were really beautiful then my life flipped upside down and my mom was diagnosed with cancer and I became her full-time caretaker I lost my record deal during that but I think maybe it was a bit of a blessing because it gave me some extra time to really be there for her is she okay no she passed away I'm sorry Lily [Music] when we were kids in the backyard playing astronauts and rock stars no one told us to stop it called us unrealistic suddenly you're 18 go to college for your plan B what you want is too risky live for weekends in whiskey we all got these big Ideas one day they're replaced with fears [Applause] [Music] it ain't big enough if it doesn't scare the hell out of you if it makes you nervous it's probably worth it but I save it for slave when you could be live in your day [Music] so they dream it's [Applause] we grew up in a small community called Hearts Chapel it's the name it's named after our family because it's way too many of us oh okay so how do you know each other so Danica and I are sisters and tree is our first cousin uh we were so inspired by the song Jolene and we just loved the storyline and we figured though from 1973 to 2022 we could not still be fighting over the same man the other one was supposed to be my dog but she hates me and loves my husband and she's very bad dog oh and we have a question for Heidi I would love to know what her most embarrassing moment is I have four children and I would say to them everything I do is embarrassing what do you do when you get nervous instead of calling it nerds what I do is call it excitement and I use those nerves to this whole story his mother saw how Talent he was and she submitted his audition to America's Got Talent I like being surprised and I'm really really curious to see after what everyone went through in 2020 what it's going to be like in 2021. it's really hard to explain it's something that suddenly moves you that suddenly you think that there's nothing that is gonna compare to it or it's something that maybe you think it's worth of people seeing it becoming you know better and better through the competition when it calls me it just calls me there's been certain things that I was like and it's like no don't do it don't do it don't do it hopefully it will be you know a variety act like something different because I would just love you know for someone else to have a shot this time surprise me surprise me we're gonna see some special moments this year I have a good feeling about this hi everybody this is Maddie and I just got the golden buzzer from Howie Mandel I am the biggest fan there could be of America's Got Talent and here I am without the judges knowing we asked Maddie to sit in the audience let's see if they noticed they were coming back from breaking one minute one minute or something all right we got a hot minute so I'm gonna try to Finders you come here stand up how you doing what are you gonna see for us I don't care just do it are you ready for me you ready for me here we go How Sweet the shine my mind was blown in I was just so happy and I'm going to the live shows always trying to change my two tens that's a paradigm a paradigms I probably go see ya paradigms like Heidi and Sophia I'm a showman to show you how I'm good with the jokes like how we doing this for Simon so the world might hear me cruise to the top and get jacked like Tara so whether you were born a jacket queen or Ace or raised as a diamond joke a spade or eight Simon said he was a little mad at me because I haven't audition before uh I think that it was just a good timing um a couple years ago maybe I didn't feel ready or something but I'm so glad I'm here now thank you so much everyone I cannot wait to show you what I have planned for round two tune in hi everyone my name is Sarah James and I'm 13 years old and I'm from Poland we've heard a lot of singers over the years but wow you have a real star glow about you thank you so much WoW timer said that I have startup it's amazing I just like Simon said you know it's crazy it must be such an unbelievable feeling doing this in front of an American audience because I'm guessing this is probably where you dreamed of Performing and I can remember when I came to America for the first time and that was 20 odd years ago and that was the moment I'll never forget and I want to make this a moment for you to remember forever [Music] I just like amazing thank you so so so much you know I'm not gonna let you down I hope you're gonna be proud of me and everyone in America I would be so honored to empower you even now the average speed during rush hour on an LA freeway [Music] so without moving I want you to sit here now for two and a half hours this is pretty realistic it's our live show in Vegas it's really cool we get to reunite with all the other performers it's a bunch of sweethearts out here sense AGT so much stuff has happened ever since I went on Ellen I got to go and Jimmy Fallon after AGT it sold out crowds now it's a bit more exciting Fallen here because you're not getting to you can just have fun Vicki's been so much so nice to me and she kind of took care of me in America's Got Talent and I love Courtney so much I feel like I'm Courtney's Aunt her mischievous Aunt especially you handsome I never thought that I'd be on America's Got Talent it's just unbelievable our son we came on the show to create an environment to where we can raise him ourselves you know before I would never actually speak at all I would always do my magic silently it's changed my life my family's life it's truly a blessing
