[Music] on the course of mario's grand adventures he's had some very interesting final bosses but also some final bosses that weren't so grand so today we are looking at 33 final bosses from the mario series these bosses will be ranked based on how good and how interesting and fun the final boss was if it was actually kind of boring and lame it's going to be higher on our list as we get down to our final 10 and finally the number one best final boss fight in a mario game also worth mentioning that these are all going to be mainline mario games for the most part anything like mario parties or mario karts or even the rpg games such as the paper mario and martin luigi games are going to be on their own separate list now there are going to be yoshi games included in here and of course luigi's mansion is going to be in here as well because they do take place within the mario universe and have mario characters donkey kong however has enough games to be its own franchise in its own list as well as wario so there will be no donkey kong games at all unless it's the original donkey kong that is the only game that i have decided to include on this list and i think it's safe to say there's going to be a lot of bowsers appearing on this list as we get into it but before we get started guys stop what you're doing and make sure that you're subscribed to stay up to date on more videos like this and nintendo news and information in the future and also feel free to like the video if you enjoyed today it helps a lot so let's get on to our list of ranking 33 final bosses within the mario franchise first off at number 32 we have the original donkey kong now this one's kind of hard to put in a place as far as bosses go because donkey kong technically is a boss and there is a final boss technically with the third stage but you don't really ever fight him you just go throughout the stage doing your task and eventually donkey kong will fall down so i had to add this one just for the sake of saying that donkey kong technically is a boss in this game but yeah number 31 we have bowser from yoshi's topsy turvy if you don't know what this game is it was a game on the game boy which allowed you to use the extra pack inside of the game to tilt the game it was weird these game boy games were huge and everything but you had to tilt bombs in order to blow up bowser and then eventually you had to actually tilt the stage that bowser was on the platform in order to make him fall in the lava it was weird it was horrible i remember even actually playing this game and owning this game it was just a very bad game number 30 we have the original mario bros this of course is where it all started off but the boss battle itself was never really that good your goal is to get past bowser and not really touching him at all in order to hit a button to drop the bridge in order to kill bowser in the lava lake this was kind of boring and i still don't really understand why you never get to actually fight bowser himself but you repeat this throughout the game in the beginning so the final boss is really just more of this and bowser just has extra powers he can throw like hammers and stuff now but yeah it's just not a great boss fight number 29 we have a very similar boss fight with super mario brothers the lost levels which just adds some extra depth to the battle you know some more platforms and stuff in the room and bowser throws more hammers and fireballs and if you use the all-star version it's a lot more detailed with good graphics number 28 we have tatango from mario land tatanga is a very different boss for mario instead now it's a 2d side-scrolling shooter almost like star fox in a way where you have to go up and down the screen shooting at tatanga dodging all of his bullets which can actually be kind of difficult but it is a different take on a boss battle and it's a little bit better than what we've seen so far at least you're actually fighting the boss head on for number 27 we go to the sequel mario land 2 to fight wario in this game you pretty much just have a one-on-one battle with wario in multiple different scenes all you have to do is jump on his head as he's flying around the room with different power-ups for instance with the bunny hood he can pretty much float in the air and you have to wait for him to hit the ground in order to jump on his head you're jumping on his head and this is kind of how it all started with mario jumping on enemies head in 2d mario games and even in 3d mario games so i guess you can give it some credit for that but overall it's not that fun of a boss fight it's okay number 26 we have baby bowser from yoshi's story one of the first times we get to see baby bowser outside of yoshi's island and have a bout with him but this time he doesn't turn giant at the end rather it's just the baby version of the fight and it's kind of boring at the end of the day your job is to pounce him with eggs as he's jumping back and forth on wind whirls and flying across the stage and you have to knock him on the ground you can also just throw bombs at him which is obviously very easy as most of the time he just scoots across the floor number 25 you have king wart from mario brothers 2. this one was kind of unique instead of just pouncing on him or throwing things at him you're throwing things in his mouth you gotta throw turnips in his mouth and for some reason he just hates vegetables so that's your goal you have to aim your shot in order to throw it into his mouth as he's spitting out those bubbles and making sure in the process you're not getting hit i actually thought this was kind of unique for a boss fight for once and yeah not too bad well we have bowser again from new super mario brothers on the original ds as number 24 this is another take on bowser once again you're not fighting him you're going for the switch but this time he has his son with him which could be a little bit harder which means you can actually take out his son before actually going through bowser all you have to do is jump on his head three times or hit him with some type of power up like a fire flower eventually he will die allowing you to cross over and hit the button when bowser jumps at the right time number 23 we have bowser from mario brothers 3. this one makes you think outside the box instead of just brutally attacking bowser or going for a switch your job is to have bowser's offense be your defense that sounded cooler on paper bowser is trying to ground pound on top of you and you have to allow him to break the blocks underneath you in order for him to fall to his death that's pretty much it but it's actually kind of creative how you have to do so you have to make him hit blocks that he's already hit before in order to break them in a certain way or if he keeps on breaking things that are on the top you're never going to get bowser to fall so it's really kind of a planning stage with how you fight bowser in this and it's not too bad number 23 you have mecha bowser from yoshi safari now this is a very weird game but the super scope is kind of cool i mean you have to admit in this game you're pretty much on a 1v1 shoot down against bowser in his mecha armor and you have to shoot different parts of his body in order to break his armor off then shooting him and you can also shoot different parts of bowser's body himself as you can literally put him in a cast mid battle it's actually kind of cool to shoot around at different parts and you know know where to aim and dodge all his attacks by shooting back at him it's actually a pretty decent boss fight as far as a game based on the super scope coming in at number 22 we have super mario world bowser this time bowser is in his clown car from above throwing boulders down and even mecha koopas their job is to jump on the mecha koopa and throw it back at him which can be kind of fun to have that aim anytime you gotta throw stuff at a boss and kind of aim it down it's actually kind of fun and this time once again you're actually fighting bowser for the first time in a mario game so this was pretty cool when you first experienced it number 21 you have wingo from captain toad very similar to mario brothers 2 with king wart you're throwing turnips inside of wingo's mouth and this is pretty much it you're doing this three times in order to kind of choke him up and then drop him from the sky after he swallows the turnip but besides that it's actually a decent boss fight you'll be dodging lightning bolts and wind that's going to try to blow you and knock you off but your job is to pluck these things out of the ground real quick and throw it at him and time him up when he's warping around the stage which is actually a lot of fun number 20 we have bowser from super mario sunshine in this game bowser and his son are in a hot tub as bowser jr fires at you with bullet bills bowser is breathing fire at you and there's green poisonous goop bouncing everywhere and you have to hit the ends of the bathtub in order to flip it over completely this is actually kind of high paced and kind of action packed with your rocket nozzle trying to ground pound all of these switches without getting hit by debris and stuff that's falling down and it's just kind of weird how you're just tipping over a bathtub at the end of this whole adventure it's weird but it actually isn't that bad for number 19 super princess peach yes a game about peach's emotions is on this list army bro is the first boss that you'll fight in the series of bosses and all you have to do is hit him or get angry and just run him over with your fire and then of course you come upon bowser it's more of the same thing but this time it's just a bigger enemy as he's rushing towards you and you have to jump on his head and kind of hit him with your fire emotion but then eventually you'll come across a giant bowser and your job is to pick up the bombs with perry and chuck them in his mouth in order to hit him well technically above his nose is a weird hitbox for this it's extremely weird i don't understand it i don't like the boss battle that much but you gotta admit it's kind of well done with three different phases number 18 we have bowser from new super mario bros 2. this time you're not just hitting the switch and dropping the drawbridge there is a part 2 where bowser grows giant and this time he is in the background shooting fire and things at you from the background as you are in the foreground trying to make your way to the top where the next switch is in order to drop him into the lava once again that's what you'll have to do and it's kind of cool dry bowser version is actually really cool to see his blue eyes glowing and the 3d actually worked really well here on the 3ds and it's just a cool boss fight as you're making your way across platforms dodging lava and just trying to stay alive to the very end but before we continue i want to stop and thank today's sponsor ben benq's th685i hdr projector this thing is pretty amazing now right off the bat i was not even paid for this they were so nice to send a review copy over and this thing is amazing it is a gaming projector that can be used to not only game but to watch movies shows whatever you want to watch because it also comes with android tv that you can install so you can watch your favorite shows movies and even game on this thing and it's pretty doggone amazing this little projector pops out 1080p resolution with 8.3 ms of low latency gaming and it is actually low latency trust me i played smash brothers with my friends and even online and i can tell you that this thing works like a breeze it's literally like a giant light up tv and the colors overall just pop i've never actually seen a projector look this good that's normally why i don't like to use them because the colors always look washed but i mean these colors are rich in detail it almost looks like you're playing on a flat screen tv you can even see me hit this amazing combo but i'm never telling you how i did it and the setup is extremely easy i mean extremely easy you can adjust the lens and everything you want to get the absolute perfect picture quality and if you have an android device you can control everything straight from your phone but if you don't no worries it actually comes with a remote control that you can control everything straight from there or even the buttons on the projector itself and to hook it up to the switch it's seriously just an hdmi cord like you would plug into your tv straight into the projector so it's an amazingly easy setup for sure i mean really the phone doesn't even do enough justice with how good this looks especially with games with rich colors like mario golf for instance it stands out so well i mean when my friend came in he actually thought i had a new flat screen tv built into the wall and i actually sat down and literally played mario golf for hours on my wall all night not really expecting this thing to be my brand new tv but man it's pretty amazing if you guys are interested in getting your own gaming projector the links are in the description down below and thank you to benq again for sending me over a unit i really appreciate it number 17 we have mario 3d land and once again bowser but this time bowser has some abilities he can have the tanooki leaf for his tail in order to fly around the stage and he pretty much chases mario after this 3d obstacle course that mario has to go through he'll break through blocks breakthrough platforms trying to kill mario it feels very intense and especially towards the end of the battle where you will have to run across this drawbridge as bowser is chasing behind you very similar to the classic mario games but now in a 3d vibe and it looks really cool as you hit the switch and bowser finally falls and gets hit by bricks on the way down coming in at number 16 we have yoshi woolie world baby bowser now on this you fight him very similar to the first game you fight baby bowser in a room by hitting him with eggs and ground pounding and stuff like that it's basic stuff and then finally he grows big again but not into a grown adult bowser just a bigger baby bowser and this time you have to go around a 3d kind of scopic stage and throw eggs at these wool of yarn in the air in order to prevent bowser jr from powering up it's actually a lot cooler looking than what it is but it's not a bad boss fight for sure number 15 we have king boo from luigi's mansion 3. finally out of the bowser territory for a little bit we have king boo in the third installment of luigi's mansion and what happens this time is he's kind of the same thing you have to suck up these bombs and throw him into his mouth so he falls on the stage but this time instead of just straight up sucking him up you're going to grab him by his tail and slam him on the stage multiple times with the new ghost slam ability it's actually pretty cool looking and it's a fun boss fight as he has multiple different ways to attack you including shooting electric on the stage and also throwing spike balls and different attacks is actually not too bad and the fact that you can kind of technically jump in this game jumping over his tongue always feels really cool number 14 we have mario galaxy 2's bowser now for the game itself this boss did not end the game the way i wanted it to and it does not pick up or kind of improve off of what they did with the first game because the first games boss was amazing but this one was just very weird and boring the entire time and you fight them multiple times throughout the game bowser just punches at this planet and it's your job to you know ground pound the meteors at him the planets whatever they are the moons whatever you want to call them but eventually there is a phase two where it's just more of the same thing but this time you're in some type of galactic inner space tube and bowser's chasing after you and you just have to ground pound these planets more into him it's very boring you don't really do anything you don't really hit bowser yourself and it's just i don't know as far as everything else on this list it definitely is better it's very climactic feeling and bowser is huge in this game and it feels very exciting but as far as what the game could have done to make this better it wasn't that great number 13 we have yoshi's island ds with baby bowser and full-grown adult bowser in the same battle now this time you're actually fighting two separate bowsers through some type of space and time thing yeah it actually happens again we'll get to that in a bit but you'll fight baby bowser and then groan bowser comes and you fight him in a similar way knocking him over with bigger eggs and then ground pounding his stomach and then the groan bowser gets gigantic and you have to fight him with the help of the other babies and yoshi's which is actually kind of cool they don't do anything they're just there and you know they technically help you but they're not really doing anything special but it's actually really cool to see the two bowsers join up and then multiple different phases of a yoshi's island boss fight not too bad number 12 we have new super mario brothers you bowser boss fight this time you're actually fighting the giant bowser and after you do the whole drawbridge thing that we've seen a million times bowser gets giant once again for the millionth time but this time you're fighting him and bowser jr at the same time and you can use bowser jr's clown car it's cool to knock bowser jr out of it and just completely hijack his clown car but your job is to ride it all the way to the top of the screen and then come down on top of bowser's head and then bowser will kind of go back and forth at this giant shell it's actually really cool very cinematic for a 2d mario boss fight and i actually found it very interesting number 11 we have king boo from the original luigi's mansion this boss was actually really fun and really unique because we didn't expect bowser to make an appearance here well at least robo bowser because king boo is in charge of this robotic bowser and he uses it just to terrorize luigi which is just crazy to think about but the boss battle is actually kind of fun he throws these spike balls and you kind of have to suck them up and launch them at bowser's head to knock his head clean off and chase down king boo and try to suck him up which is once again a lot of fun number 10 we have bowser from super mario odyssey in this game bowser has this magic hat that's able to punch with two giant boxing gloves and mario can capture it wear it and run up to him and just completely wail on bowser's stomach which i actually think is pretty cool well hopefully it's a stomach because if it's not i feel bad for bowser but you do this a couple times but you already fight him once before in the game so it's kind of a repeat not the greatest mario balls fight but it's definitely very intense lots of things happening lots of times you have to actually focus plus you get to play as freaking bowser at the end which is also really cool i don't know if that counts as the boss fight but it's just a great ending number nine bowser from mario 3d world once again this is kind of like a mario galaxy 2 situation where i still wish they would have done more with the actual boss fight where you could actually fight bowser but this time you're going up a giant tower very similar to 3d land where you're running in a 3d space away from bowser this time you're scaling a giant tower to get to the very top and hit the giant pal block in order to defeat him it has multiple copies it's cool to see all of his copies come breaking through the building and trying to grab you and scratch you with their cat claws it is actually a really intense high-stakes boss battle when the first couple times you play it but after a while it can get kind of boring and that's why it's not lower on the list then we move on to another chase sequence type of boss battle with number eight new super mario brothers wii bowser once again you're crossing the draw bits yada yada yada yada you hit the switch but then bowser grows big and this is one of the first times we actually seen something like this and when he grows huge it's your job to make your way to the end and it's actually pretty difficult you can easily die from the lava that's rising below and the giant fireballs that's coming in from bowser and it's very easy to misstep and mess up and get hurt you actually have to wait a couple times for bowser to break paths in front of you and it can be very tricky but very intense and the music and everything just feels right this was a really good boss battle number seven we have yoshi's new island baby bowser and bowser now once again this is probably one of my least favorite nintendo games of all time but the boss battle was actually kind of unique and really cool so what happened is once again some type of time travel thing where a grown version of bowser comes back in time to stop yoshi from defeating baby bowser so that way he can kill off the bros when they're babies it's actually some deep lore when you think about it and i'm sure to make a video on this eventually but back to the point you fight both baby bowser and grown bowser twice each and there's lots of things that you can do with them you're throwing giant metal eggs in order to knock bowser into the lava and you're just fighting bowser you know the normal ways but it just looks cool there's multiple different phases and it's actually a really good boss fight for what i would say is a terrible game number six we have king boo from the ouija's mansion 2. this one also had a mixture of a chase sequence with an actual boss fight i actually thought this was really cool now you simply just let these spike balls fall into king boo's head and then you could try to suck him but after you try he'll kind of bounce out of the vacuum cleaner and then go on this rampage chase scene where he grows big and chases luigi through a little mansion maze thing and you have to guide your way through lifting things sucking things out of the way blowing things out of the way it's really cool and the way they did this it's like a little diorama toy house type of thing that luigi runs through to get away from king buu i think it's actually one of the coolest boss fights especially for a 3ds game coming in at number five we have baby bowser from the original yoshi's island now this is the one that i thought was the best it only had two different phases but it did it first and it did it so well for a game boy game to have this type of atmosphere was really good you obviously had a regular battle against bowser jr throwing eggs at him ground pounding him whatever you had to do to flip him over but then he got big for the first time we've seen this and he marches at you from far away this time you have to shoot eggs and not only just randomly shoot them in the background but you have to aim precisely because you're shooting them far off in the background to hit baby bowser if he gets too close it gets very terrifying as he's about to destroy you the death of this boss battle that nintendo could pull off with a snes game let alone a game boy game was absolutely amazing number four once again being baby bowser from yoshi's crafted world now yoshi's crafted world is not one of the best yoshi games or mario games or games in general but once again the final boss is absolutely excellent so bowser jr jumps into this mechanical contraption and controls this giant arts and craft project that has colored pencils paper cardboard all types of things shooting out trying to hurt yoshi and yoshi can break off different pieces of this contraption and it's really cool how the whole thing works but that's just phase one as phase two baby bowser turns into this giant king baby bowser and he's trying to hit you with different things giant fireballs and it is actually kind of difficult believe it or not and it's very easy to die if you're not paying attention your job is to take these rockets and hammers and absolutely well on him with them and it's actually really fun to do so this is a really good boss fight for a game that wasn't that great now down to our final three boss battles and number three we have bowser from mario 64. this is an incredibly easy simplistic way to beat bowser and it just shows you less is more sometimes it's very simple you dodge bowser's attacks run around him grab his tail and launch him into one of the spiked balls off the stage but it's very very hard to do so and it really takes a keen eye in great accuracy in order to hit one of these things but it's entirely a whole boatload of fun even today to spin bowser around and try to let go and launch him in one of these things it's actually a really good boss battle that aged significantly well number two we have bowser's fury fury bowser i guess this boss was just incredible they really went insane with this now you normally fight him throughout the entire game so the final boss is really just more of that but it's an entire full-fledged boss battle you have to hit him multiple times doing different things he's got full abilities and he's absolutely irate the whole battle is extremely fun extremely intense and it's only part one part two all the goop washes off of him and now it's just regular bowser that's spitting fire at you from afar and trying to hurt you as you chase him down with plessy and bump into him with plessy of course this is a really really fun boss battle and a funny way it ends as plessy just grows giant and lands on top of bowser and the number one final boss battle in a mario game is bowser from super mario galaxy this was one of the most climactic battles i think i've ever witnessed in a video game it was just the music and everything the stairs leading up to bowser seeing the battleships all around them and bowser jr watching and peach just hoping that you can save her it's just very climactic and it's the fight for the galaxy and the way it just plays out is amazing there's three different phases and different ways that bowser transforms himself that mario will have to fight one is rock bowser that mario has to smack his head one is despite shell bowser where mario has to hit plants into him and then the battle on the final planet where bowser tries to ground pound mario but burns himself and runs around the planet as mario smacks him back and forth which is an amazing concept by the way and it ends off excellently with a really cool scene of mario just punching bowser in the face which we never get to see by the way that was awesome in a climactic ending as bowser falls into the lava and the galaxy is restored that is my ranking of every single final boss within the mario franchise let me know what you guys think in the comments down below and if you think any other final bosses should have been ranked anywhere else on this list and thank you so much for tuning in if you really enjoyed today's
