Etihad A380 First Class Apartment - World’s Best?

King of the Skies the Avery idiomedia is back [Music] we'll be here with the apartment so during colbit we offered to eat really stunned and they've been sent to the desert in Spain in a place called Taral to park and storage and all the landing gear the engines all the windows are covered and then there's periodic checks to maintain the plane because you never know when they're gonna come back indeed earlier this year the announcement was made and the A3 is returning back for Avery it is coming back on their Fleet flying between London and Abu Dhabi exclusively and there's awful lots of work actually for many months of hard work Engineers been working on this plane to bring back to the enjoyment of the passengers so I really want to send out my gratitude and credit to all the hard-working people to make this airplane possible to fly in the sky again show me every welcoming beverage we have the Buffalo and the champagne vintage from 2002. this is our loungewear it's designed by an emirati designer a friend of mine by Expose so there is the pajamas and delivers you have your uh closets with our amenity kits okay wow you have to brush to paste eye shades and socks here drawer for your personal belongings at the mini bar mini bar yeah [Music] okay project it's done just the Lucci no cheese hello good morning welcome on board my name is uh maherz I'm a captain examiner with a tihad so I'll be the pic today for the flight in y12 so to uh Abu Dhabi I'll be assisted with myself but from India hi yeah so take you today to uh Abu Dhabi it will be more or less 6 hours and 30 minutes and generally you fly at 39 000 feet for the most part of the flight weather-wise it's fine we expect to have smooth light today the flight will be we take off from London we'll fly over uh Brussels and then we fly Germany Eastern Europe and then we continue over turkey we cross Iraq and then straight away to the Middle East so fly Bahrain and finally we start our descent to Abu Dhabi for the time being we finish our preparation so prepare everything the documents to prepare the Parkland we insert the route we still refueling a little bit it will take another five minutes refueling after what we'll close the door and we'll be ready for the flight what it's like to come back to work on the A380 we are very happy to to be back on the 380 so the first flight was the 25th of uh July so like four days ago so we're very excited and very motivated of three years of disruption due to covet so during that phase so we've been on the 320 350 aircraft and uh it was like a dream it was like a dream because nobody was sure that the 380 would come back to to fly again and for the last uh two weeks we had a lot of a lot of things to do so we get the aircraft back after a seat check so we had to do a lot of flights uh training in Abu Dhabi uh to get back to all our crew and to put everybody within the loop again so it's thanks for everybody to bring the 380 back it was the real dream and it comes true now thank you very much [Music] may I check with you if you'd like to have a shower with us later on on the flight sure because the shower on board is up started our push back we had a small Delay from the ATC as the captain announced a very busy Air View on London Heathrow here now the first class apartment here has nine Apartments each of them are unique I would say Row 4 is the best city because the window seats face forward Row three is the reverse of Row 4 is Windows that face backward row two is actually a pair sitting next to the aisle so you can see quite closely to each other so it's row five row one is a single sister and then there is the residence available for an upgrade it's really really amazing how much traffic now back a London Heathrow even a year ago Terminal 4 hasn't opened it was all in terminal 2. now everything's back super busy this summer looking at the 380 right we saw Singapore Airlines we saw baa 380 almost all the 380 operators are back as well as a miracle only three of them retired Air France Thai Airways and Malaysia Airlines [Music] take off though that Flex 65 as far as it's gonna be also screw reject Ed foreign [Music] to the first class pajamas pretty surprised on a day flight they actually offer you a full set amenities and pajamas as first class should be [Music] cheers what a beautiful start today 380 first class flight now I think there are lots and lots of people doing fine reviews on YouTube but I really want to say for the last couple years I'm not doing any more reviews this is more of an ABS because I write to the airline events to get access to film behind the scenes to put a GoPro in the cockpit to film takeoff Landing to film the interaction of the crew is I want to produce my video as a travel show it is just my personal travel experience come with me enjoy this experience together it's not much of a review because to me I found that the review is based on one single flight it's very difficult to summarize at home airline based on just one flight so if that's saying my in Q3 on my website I'm going to start a rating platform where everybody's invited to come to egg yolk and egg white following the minis and glamor and the Covina okay thank you very much all right so I will actually the chef on this flight and obviously we can't always get it right but we do try our best so for the beef it's cooked to that's the way you requested it medium now if it's not exactly how you requested it just give me another chance and I'll do my best to accommodate you on the second let's see let's see how it goes let's see I like this all right so we do have the beef whoa wait wait sweet potato [Music] I just came to check out what's the steak oh I'm not quite sure just kidding very good very good very good raspberry thank you that was a beautiful lunch caviar and a beautiful steak with garnishings and then a warm bread and butter pudding with ice cream to end I used to think only a a Japanese Airline and Air France are very good at catering and Etihad first class surprised me because I have a floor it's got a long wow and there's also extensive men if there are four choices appetizer and five choice of main course plus there's a grill menu which you have a grill stick as well that's what I chose today is actually a first class Galley here yes it's a chair between the basement it was the first class yeah it's quite a unique setting where are you guys from actually Portugal Portugal I'm Romanian Romania and Camilla was working with us she's Brazilian okay free crew today in first class three passengers three crew very good very good you guys need special training to work back on the a380. yes definitely we get a few days of training for from a safety perspective and first and then for first class as well for the residents as well we get a special training there's extra things different from the main street for example the shower we don't have it on the main floor so here we have the bar in the middle of the A380 it's quite different because Embers have the bar at the very back and Edie has in the middle and I think there's a self-service bar at the back um I think they've really because they have so much space right it has all these cool features showers bar and it's great to choose the right aircraft to fly on so they have a more premium experience with a full stomach of steak from cooked by Louisa now I think it's time to take a nap oh this goes down into yeah and you still have a gap here which you can go inside your seat and also you can sleep so you have one chair and one bed for your comfort we have to do that two mattresses two mattress two mattresses one and now one here and one here okay all right [Music] I like how this TV coming out as well but all you do in first class is eat and now sleep you have good rest now the time would like to come with me please just please uh this is where the shower turned on yes yeah it's five minutes just five minutes I run through my shower now okay see you there we go oh yeah showers here oh wow wow taking a shower at forty thousand feet only got five minutes water to run but how cool is this right after a long nap taking a shower refresh before I land it's the sun saving the best of the last this is the residence I know that you've been here before let's take a look it's been a while the residents here I remember the living room double silver Grill proper real bad in the sky on the A380 I really miss the residence I think still that is the most bespoke experience in the commercial flying and I did the president three times prior to Colvin at the Abu Dhabi Mumbai Abu Dhabi Paris and Abu Dhabi incho and then I remember your your limousine the residence Lounge then you meet your butler who take you on your flight and then you get your menu printed in your name you get a bathroom personalized with your name and initial on your bathroom and you get the caviar champagne dining in your bed and of course the all the personalization all the gift all the fast track formality it makes it feel like flying in a private jets but right now this resident is a little bit subdued uh it still has the hardware but he's using the first class menu first class crew so you no longer have the Butler and you no longer have Auto exclusive things but I would still say this is pretty much a top experience one day I'd love to fly again so I want to share with you a very good deal I recently found from Bangkok to London Bangkok to Abu Dhabi in business class Abu Dhabi to London in first class on A380 for two thousand five hundred dollars one way and then you can pay an upgrade another 2500 into the residence so five thousand dollars you can enjoy the best commercial flying experience like a private jet in the residence and this ticket usually costs twenty thousand dollars a loan from Abu Dhabi to London and now you can have it for five thousand dollars that's a steal [Music] thank you [Music] it's speeding and we're coming into Abu Dhabi fast I can actually film the uh speed bricks applied so I feel the plane tumble a little bit and slow down and descending now now um I think the best way to summarize this flight is this quote here I found it on my pillow it says you know when you're in love when you can't fall asleep because the reality is finally better than your dreams right last year I published a top five first class so that was a a there were Emirates and there were Air France and swiss but I really think Eddie have deserved to be on the list they already have 380 is kind of one of a kind yeah because it's also one of the youngest really only six years old and it has this new product still felt new and I think they should be one of the very best but the only caveat is they fly between Abu Dhabi and London this is the only route they fight so far continue sixty fifty fourteen Thirty twenty
