Episode 2: Wildwood Sanitarium Part 1

[Music] [Music] [Music] what's going on everyone this is Mike this is Adam we're two brothers extreme paranormal we are here at Wildwood sanitarium for an overnight private investigation this is going to be amazing can't wait this is our first time here what do you think great it's going to be amazing night uh we have our special guest Zach and kayy are inside they take you on a little trip now um oh man the people have been here this room right here this mirror there's a mirror in here that actually broke twice during an investigation see over there think Kaye and Zach are upstairs checking the place so yeah we're we're excited we're happy to be here we can't wait it's going to be one amazing night all right as our intro started before here's our special guest for tonight we got kayy from get haunted and we got Zach her husband you guys looking forward to being here of course always can't wait to see what this place brings all right everyone we'll see you soon talk to you later night I decided to come here last night it's been a long time since I stayed overnight and I got woke up at 1:00 in the morning there was a loud bang noise and it felt like the bed moved I'm just like my God I slept down here in this room yeah but then after that I kept hearing noises like it sounded like somebody was walking around upstairs it sound I heard people talking I heard music and it's just like oh come on guys so this the like major history of the the building um as far as we know uh well I had went down to the county building and tried to find out you know how old it was and stuff and they had dates back down to 1900 and they said though it was probably older than that but a lot of times the historians if they didn't know a date they would just throw a date down yeah so we know it was older than that because for the simple fact it had gas lighting and as we're working on stuff we're finding rectangular and square nails okay so that dates it back more to probably the mid 1800s to maybe even 1870 somewhere in between um so yeah we know it's kind of older than that and Dr Henderson is the one who actually bought the building and he bought it in 1903 and he was waiting for the previous tenants to move out I don't know who that was but I do have a list of all the owners after after that um and his family actually owned it till 1946 he passed away 1941 so his family owned it for them a few years too before it changed hands again um yeah they wor they worked on it for 3 years before they opened it up as the sanitarium because they made a bath house in the basement and they said that they were going to have cold bass hot bass and Electric battery bath so you can imagine what that is yeah they also had like the steam bath cabinets they had stuff set up where they could do like bone stretching and things like that the two doctors were actually osteopathic doctors and they're a holistic doctors so they believed in all the natural methods of of uh helping people basically and basically at that point in time they said that you could come here you know heal from your mental issues you um have a drug problem you have an alcohol problem um you had some kind of thing going on at the hospital and you're not ready to go home you know if you needed to heal basically from anything you could come here uh so they had all different types of people here but they didn't want at that time they didn't want anybody that was had contagious diseases obviously CU they had room for like 10 to 12 full-time patients wow but then they also had people coming in and out of the bath house gosh getting treatments wow so I mean they did have a lot of people com in out um the two doctors actually went to the same College they met each other in college um in Kirksville Missouri it's an osteopathic College it still is in existence and still was a college and it was cool cuz I contacted them and I'm like do you have any information pictures you know anything you can send me they actually have their own little Museum and they keep they track of some of their people that graduated from there was cool ni I got a that picture of Dr Henderson John Henderson on the wall there um they sent me that picture that was his graduation picture and and then they sent me this other picture that's on the Oregon here and it's his class and they're in front of a cadaver that they were working on they sent me that picture too wow it took me two years to find a picture of of Dr Carol Perry so I mean it was good to actually find a picture of them they didn't take many pictures back then yeah so I I have that picture there of the house from 1906 that's on the Oregan and you can see there's no houses around it so this place Sat by itself back then for quite a few years um in 1923 the town of salanka forced them to open up as a tuberculosis Clinic oh wow so they needed someplace to go with people so it was that for quite a few years too so yeah we don't we have like opening dates but we don't have ending dates and some things like cuz they just didn't put it out there gotcha and in the papers and all that they put opening dates but no ending dates was there a lot of known deaths on this property from um there had to have been some I'm guessing with it being yeah there had to have been um we get a lot of the same Spirits all the time reacting with the equipment coming on the Spirit Box get the same names over and over and over um one of the first ones kind of we came across at our first groups that came here investigated was the name Tommy um he's a little boy spirit and we know he's here he likes interacting with people um we got validation from actually someone who attended one of our events she said yeah I went to school with Tommy and I went to elementary school with him and she said just up one day when we went to school the teacher said he had passed away so of course it's like you can't find any information it's really hard to find and we thought gee you know it must have been some kind of a sudden death or you know whether it was an accident illness whatever so you know being that he was only a kid at the time um we figured the date was right around 1973 so it's it's like more of a recent kind of death um actually had another lady attended one of our public ghosts on she she's like yeah I remembered when it happened she said he that him and a couple of his buddies decided to take a raft down to the river and two of the kids drowned oh man so now we know what he passed away of but he does hang out here it must be you know this is home for him so he hangs out here yeah the river being right there the river yeah is right there I mean there's Trails you can walk to get to the River from here and back then none of these houses were here like I said um so yeah we know for sure that he's here we found a postcard um it's actually on the wall on the second floor and it was written by a woman by the name of rose and she stayed here she said she had came here to heal from mental issues that she needed to heal from so we know that was her room so we know that for sure um and like I said it was it was probably the TB Clinic to the mid 1940s um and then after that like the early 1950s to the early 1980s it was Apartments it was three separate Apartments so there's probably a lot of different energies that came and went oh absolutely with that too absolutely I mean this the lady that lives across the road she's just like yeah she said I used to be friends with the lady that rented the third floor her apartment but she wasn't here real long because she was a hairdresser and she would come home from work and her furniture would be moved around and she got tired of it wow I just that's crazy that's what she said everybody in the neighborhood is aware that there there is stuff going on with this house I even one day I got a phone call and I'm just like okay who is this and she's like um um you got to do something about your ghosty friends because they're they're coming down to my house now and they're turning on my furnace and and full blast and I keep turning it down and they keep turning it up and I keep turning it down they're going to cause a fire could you please tell them to go home just that's funny that's awesome just all kinds of stuff like that like I I just you know people know we have the groups here they don't have any problems with it they're good with what have you personally experienced here oh i' I've had so many experiences like I said even last night I'm just like what the heck I mean I was totally sleeping and got heard that loud bang it totally woke me up and it felt like the bed moved that's in this you could hear you could hear this noise like it moved wow um we have had quite a few people say like they'll be down here on the first floor and they'll hear like they're moving around chairs upstairs wow um doors open and Clos on their own even yesterday my husband was here earlier in the day and I decided to stay and do some cleaning and stuff and um he had shut all the doors upstairs and when I up went up there this morning the two hallway doors were open the one going from the first floor to the second floor and the one going from the second to the third floor but both those doors were open wow so I mean that's the thing you it gets real quiet even though it's in town here it gets real quiet at night it's quiet now believe it or not it's really and the wind's blowing you can see the wind blowing but it's quiet in here everything so I mean it's not unusual like I said to hear footsteps or it sounds like somebody's talking upstairs or you're upstairs and it sounds like somebody's down here it's it's a real thing um a lot of people see shadow figures that's a huge thing here too um people have seen apparitions full body apparitions okay um some of them some people have caught it on film all kinds of weird things um probably the creepiest thing I had happened was oh was we've owned it for like seven years now but it was probably maybe a year after I bought the place um we were actually working on the roof up on the third floor me and my son and he's like Mom he's like you know what I used to really hate coming up here because it just you know all the noises and all the stuff going on and he's like you know what I had to force myself to come up here and then he's like that is kind of almost started getting used to coming up here and he's like you know what I almost kind of like it up here now right right after he said that the bathroom window exploded now that that that story was told on uh um America's most terrifying places that was on that and it it was a true story and it was weird cuz I I went up to the window and I looked at it and there was like equal you know I thought maybe the skeptical part of me like well maybe a bird hit it or something it just had got dark out but I looked and there was just as much glass on the inside of the on the bathroom floor as it was on the outside in the grass wow but literally the glass was gone it was totally broken that's that's crazy that's awesome yeah so I mean crazy and awesome there's been you know there has been a little bit of polargeist type activity I you know I'm not the one to believe in like the whole demon thing and no it just yeah I don't know I don't know if they're just trying to get your attention or yeah or something like that it's not anything bad I mean I tell I tell a lot of people that this is a good place if they want to get kids into ghost hunting it's a good place for them to come because they like interacting with kids and you know you're not going to go away away with an attachment or anything here it just the spirits that are here are respectable they're they're good spirits they're not you know it it sounds funny like this place is still trying to be a Healing Place the doctors are still here the nurses are still here you know and just everybody here they interact with people people that come here the groups that come here a lot of times people will hear from loved ones that come here it's like insane like I had I had one girl came and she just happened to mention they were up on the second floor she's like gee you know I wish I could hear from my friend so and so and who comes over the Spirit Box her friend and she asked her certain questions that only her friend knew the answers to and she answered them and it like totally freaked her out um cool I I had a guy come here and you know I I can see things sometimes and that I'm I just do and I get messages and stuff and this guy came and I'm like who's the man that keeps following you around and he just looked at me funny and he's like you know I I feel the same way he's like my I feel like my dad's following me around constantly and I'm like yeah and I said he said just to prove it to you that it's him I said he's telling me he was uh good with his hands and he loved working on cars and he I said to him was he a mechanic or something because he's talking about working on cars and I he just looked at me funny he's like oh my God yeah he was a mechanic so I mean people go away from this place a lot of times with some kind of healing message or something or some kind of cool experience that um you know that they take away from here I I mean I've had Skeptics come here that were total total Skeptics and went away with like oh my God you know I saw a shadow figure in the hallway wow you know you know different things like that I mean it just I don't know that's awesome that's why I think this house actually like compelled me to buy it I wasn't looking to buy a location or that it just kind of happened it was weird it's like something told you you need to buy this place they really were hounding me to buy this place because they knew I would fix it up they have a story to tell they want to still be healing people they that's what they want to do they don't want this place to be Apartments yeah I I could make a fortune probably if turned it back into three Apartments but did you know that's not what it's supposed to be did you know what it was Prior before you bought it um a girl was living here the previous owner his daughter was living on the first floor she had the second and third floor was just kind of shut off because they didn't want to heat the whole house just for her um he actually bought it on the intentions of renovating it and fixing it up and stuff and he he worked at a Furniture Factory down here in town and had like a higher paying job and the place had a fire and they never never did anything with it after that so he was out of a job he had to find a new job so he lives in Aly now but um his whole plan of trying to fix the place up and stuff just kind of didn't happen then gotcha well thank you so much for yeah talking with us yeah um really looking forward to tonight tonight it's going to be fun definitely going to be fun both the doctors passed away in 1941 which is weird within a few months I was going to say it was within a few months of each other right yeah I remember reading that yeah that is weird they both had been married Dr Perry didn't they have any kids Dr Henderson actually had three kids that I know of but only one survived h a daughter I haven't been able to track down information on her um I know she married but I don't know if she had any kids um yeah I don't there's just a lot of stuff going on here I actually not all that long ago I went to a paracon and talked to a couple and she's like yeah so into history I researched your place she said and she said did you know Dr Freeman Walter Freeman actually did seven labotomy at your house I'm just like no no I do an article that the guy that actually invented lobotomies actually did perform seven lobotomies here and we've asked that more than once like we've turned on the Spirit Box and just nonchalant asked oh we heard that you know there was some lobotomies performed here how many La lobotomies did you do here seven it comes across the Spirit box so I we're we're always every so often we find out something new you heard that there's a thump upstairs was there yeah yeah I wouldn't doubt it maybe let me know you know the roof was really bad when I bought the house it it was bad but now that part's done we just got to finish getting the scaffolding off of it and stuff but it is done so now we don't have to worry about the leak so now you can start working on some of the other stuff cool all right well yeah thank you so much for letting us know about the house and and make sure like um when you leave go for it all right so we're going to our special guest Kaye over there her husband Zach here's Adam what's up guys and we're going to see what we can get while being down here sometimes it's known that spirits will show themselves there's anyone down here that wants to uh come out and show yourself this is a new experiment that we trying all you have to do is show yourself through the smoke and we'll be able to see you you stand in front of it or walk through it what was that I can't hear youur [Music] i b experiment [Music] Sor in the back the heat would it be better with the stairs off h is there any Spirits down here with us we have these lights right here you if you walk up to them they'll change colors plus over there we have the laser with the smoke what happened I didn't realize he was moving I saw oh gotcha all you got to do is step into the green light so the room we're in right now down in the basement procedures over there is the actual tub that they did therapy they did Ice baths and they did hot baths with patients and then that room that we're actually pointing into right now they did all sorts of kind of stuff in there there's a bed the original bed is in there where they did some uh creepy things so right now we're trying to see if anyone can show themselves any patients or any people that pass away to come through with the green light and more a lot more can she spraying it into the reflection a little on it and the laser shoots down it and the object is Spirit show itself smoke so if anyone sees anything please comment down below and us now you saw anything standing in there this the basement of Wildwood inum in New York when we got here we started setting up and we already had a voice come out that said get out of here we have the I'm recording show we'll show you that we have a r pod sitting you can touch the r pod light it up that would be amazing we also have a r Tu yep we have one Tu over here too all you have to do is walk up and touch it like that and it'll go off can you can you make your R go off for us oh the light just lit up can you do that again can you touch the lights again that me did you hear that what I don't know when that started bugging out I heard something from over in that corner this over here I don't know if it was a voice or a thud or something yeah it's weird everything thing will be fine and all a sudden will can you change the color on one of these lights again can you walk from the room that kayle's in over to over to me and Mike yeah come walk right in front of us all you got to do is just step by the lights that are on the ground if you touch them they change pretty colors I don't know you heard that up there yeah there's another noise upstairs is there anyone down here that can communicate with us can you make some some kind of noise can you touch one of the r pods that we have can you go lay in the tub or on the bed over there that was right above us someone's walking there someone's definitely walking above us right now there's nobody else in the building it's literally just the four of us can you go walk through the fog for us little can you show us yourself is that you that was a thump above me yeah that was above me what the [ __ ] was that that was some kind of music or something whistle or a whistle was it a whistle y all right we're going to cut it right here we're going head up to the next floor out yes no why do you want us out you're going to have to make some kind of noise or touch one of the lights or the r pod for us to leave cuz we're not going anywhere we're here till the morning you are I know we are sorry I hate to break it to you are you mad that we're going to be sleeping here tonight now now what still not leaving all right we're going to be leaving the basement right now though we're not leaving the house but if you have anything else you want to say now's your chance here wow well Adam we're 13 for 13 that is literally third that's Adam's nickname that he gets out all right guys so we just ended SS nothing we wanted to tap it started getting a little just flashed on the floor but um we're going to be heading up to the second floor I think right now we're
