end you see a group of dudes way more interesting than me in the middle um I'm in there too I edit I upload I post you know what I'm saying I produce I uh host this thing as they say but on this episode we talk bad boys for Life excuse me we talk bad boys ride or die in heavy spoiler length depth whatever the [ __ ] if you have not seen b boys ride or die go watch it then come back highlight us ride with us together die with us together scratch all of that uh the Bad Boys tagline does not work in podcast marketing I'm rambling it's me it's EIG it's rocket it is bad boys it is Venom Last Dance trailer reaction and then it is basically 40 Years of Ghostbusters celebration um with that said make sure you give us a rating make sure you give us a thumbs up a thumbs down a one star five star somewhere in the middle um no matter where you at in the world show that love unless you're a fan of get Richard do Ryan Show no love love will get you killed recently in the theater the weekend of May the 31st I ain't gonna hold you I know Disney put out a a daisy Ridley Le movie that I don't remember the title of I don't know if it got that wide of a release like my theater didn't get it and I don't know anybody that saw it keeping it funky um this past weekend obviously Bad Boys ride or die Richard link lighter directed Hitman on Netflix this upcoming weekend the 14th of June Inside Out 2 comes out I thought there was other like streaming related [ __ ] does does the boys Premiere the boy season 4 premiere on Thursday that's on Prime um and then the weekend that I plan to record the next episode we got the bike riders we got kinds of kindness in the theater hopefully in my theater but um let's let's hit physical media Tuesday May the 28th was the Tuesday after the last episode dropped I see anatomy of a fall on Criterion I see Kung Fu Panda 4 I see a Batman 4K steelbook Tim Burton Batman 1989 I see Arthur the king I see Bob Marley One Love girl fight came out on Criterion I forgot about that um with uh the the movie that put uh M Rodriguez on I don't know what Knox goes away is but Michael Keaton is in it supposedly Kino labor dropped monk season 7 I ain't got my copy yet though I see a Star Trek 3 The Search for Spock 4K steelbook um crybaby it's probably a re-release that's it for May the 20 damn it this screen jumps that's it for May the 28th I'll be talking to myself while on wax I'm not crazy though I swear June the 4th did I get any I don't think I got [ __ ] on June the 4th I see you uh Back to the Future 4K combo pack um oh that uh a24 put put out love life bleeding exclusively through them I got I got more Marcel the show with shoes on through them I might cop Love Lies bleeding I just haven't yet this upcoming Tuesday is what the 11th Godzilla Kong the new Empire I I was just talking about that [ __ ] like three episodes ago in the theater it's on blu-ray this week Immaculate the Sydney Sweeney nun movie Superman and Lois season 3 I don't know what stop motion is I've seen a couple people will watch it CU on social if you like movies you just like play with yourself and masturbate to anything horror it's lame but it is the world we live in and um is the 20th the Tuesday before the next episode it's looking like it or the uh 18th I misspoke I don't know numbers June 18th it looks like Paramount present is dropping a Chinatown two Jake combo pack we're finally getting a Beverly Hills Ninja Blu-ray American fiction took six months but it is on physical media Blu-ray I don't see a 4K um that's kind of a light Tuesday I thought it was going to be fatter but we'll be back I'll be back Squad will be assembled and we will talk everything I said earlier we'll talk movies man it's rec league back at it recck League poty yti yti what's up rocket what's up what's up what's up Eric hello Mr sigment uh this honestly is gonna be a freestyle last episode like I got like three probably two ideas in mine but I ain't lock in on [ __ ] so like first half we can like spoil Bad Boys ride or die uh talk about all four movies but I think the majority of this episode is going to be 40 years ago on this day both of your old ass [ __ ] was alive and aware of society Gremlins and Ghostbusters both dropped on this day in the year of Our Lord 1984 I mean like Gremlin is dope but my my plan was to like discuss like Ghostbusters as a franchise because like two turns 35 in like 10 days that's crazy right yeah but uh first things first I Papa get all the Honeys dummies Playboy bunnies um Venom Last Dance trailer did we all see it I wanted Nick on here because I feel like Nick would be the closest thing to an apologist right um rocket spit something like the trailer it's no I like the trailer it's wacky fun but it's Sony it's wild because it well that's the thing and supposedly in the trailer well if you saw a no way home Tom Hardy ends up entering the MCU you know a little piece of you know Venom is left at the bar when he goes back I did not have we have y'all two seen Ted lasso okay well the bartender is in Ted lasso and I did not realize that when I seen no way home oh yeah think I heard that somewhere yeah he also voiced one of the Transformers in Rise of the beast but that's neither here or there or nowhere in 1994 but uh go ahead Sean my government name my bad but at the end of the day it's like Okay cool so he's in the MCU now because of no way home and all that the wild part is in this trailer you see the bartend or whoever trying to touch that little piece that was left but yet you got well sh edio for put the glass over it right that's what I'm yeah and that's where this gets confusing he not that's my thing is like is he a variant of that person but doing something different like who the hell knows that's what that's what I want to know I think Sony is gonna have a ass backwards nonsensical way to Universe jump I think I don't think any of I don't think Michelle Williams is in this [ __ ] I don't think any of the primary Venom cast is in this movie and I think hopefully they have some reasoning but I don't think Eddie Brock went back to his Sony Universe because like like I me and my boy at work we was speculating and that they had like those like not canisters you know what I'm saying but it kind of felt like the uh bunker in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 how they had like specimens and [ __ ] in that one shot so I think somehow they're going to Universe jump and in the most Sony [ __ ] way possible it's it's going to not make any [ __ ] sense because the horse bonded with the symbiot dog and it's like I hate like that's why like I hate antagonists getting their own movie their own comic comic book antagonists getting their own movie because they're never bad guys Catwoman became a hero The Suicide Squad became became a hero morbius Venom all become Heroes Craven is probably going to be some kind of have some kind of heroic Redemption thing you can't do okay I guess Todd Phillips is the only one that can keep a villain a villain right yeah I'll be honest with you reading the comic books especially Venom and all that I know he's an anti-hero he's he's not even yeah he's not even to me he's not even that he's he's bad he is bad and what I don't get about Sony is you could do great Spider-Man movies for the most part you know with that franchise whether it's amazing Spider-Man or just the original Spider-Man or even into the spiderverse series but yet you can't put together a side character like it's just I I don't get it and then it's I know Spider-Man is not in that Universe they're trying to make a universe without Spider-Man totally get it I don't sooner or later no no no no like like sooner or later though somebody's got to be bad you craving who is bad he's like an anti-hero I'm like first off if he gets Powers by drop a drop of line blood in his eye I'm gonna start like putting he some animal in my eye like just like I don't get that no sense to me rocket about to turn into a Thundercat ho um that's the movie I'm waiting for I'm wai for that the um I don't know it's the last one but I got um curious about the choice they made for the director yeah sure I mean having this um this huge I mean this huge it's her directorial debut and it's the last movie in a Trilogy supposedly Tom Hardy's last venom Marvel whatever but yeah but that that's the Sony element we just want to sell tickets and make money we don't care about a logical [Music] Universe Venom the Last Dance my question is great subtitle Tom hard is last time doing Venom in the Sony universe and then he's gonna come over to the Marvel un like like that's what I want to know it's like it's so unclear I hope not because like the now the question the Eddie Brock Peter Parker relationship that I know is that they're somewhat close in age I don't want Eddie Brock to be damn near 50 while while Peter Parker is still like 19 20 years old I just don't like it let feige be involved in what feige is what is under like what has says Marvel Studios on it if it's in association with Marvel throw throw all the [ __ ] monkey [ __ ] you want at it it's it's it's it's it's subsidiary Marvel we going to watch it and we going bash it because it's not handled with the same care but was was I bugging did I have a dream was it an unverified rumor or did one of y'all say that lordon Miller is in charge of Sony Marvel [ __ ] now probably post Craven that hurts something I don't think that I don't know I don't think that's been confirmed anywhere yeah but the only good comic book [ __ ] that Sony got right now is spiderverse yep yeah that's objectively good and also objectively phenomenal and if this third one is half of what the last one was I think it's it's got to be up there with one of the best trilogies ever in the same token as sh tell EDG for as some random ass military dude in this movie [ __ ] Aaron Taylor Johnson playing Craven why the [ __ ] is Reese Ians in his Venom movie if he's not lizard if he's not Kurt Conor bro I saw I caught that on the trailer where like he's in the van playing a little guitar or some [ __ ] like that like I'm like what is going on here like they have to spin that like the Cure worked for all of them and he got he got pulled back to the whatever Universe Eddie Brock went to but also that's the case if that's the case that means he is in Andrew Garfield's Universe that'd be great nobody like like I mean I mean that'd be great that'd be great because you could bypass the horrible [ __ ] idea of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and four setting up all that Sinister 6 [ __ ] give him a good on paper Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Tom Hardies they're closer in age let do it like that yeah yeah I agree I agree with that I agree with yeah they need to no matter how good or bad craving is they they' botched the Spider-Man without Spider-Man universe Sony Spider-Man these Venom movies are mid probably mid mid that's what I'm saying venom venom morbius Madam web Craven the Venom movies are the best of that crop and that's not saying much that's not saying much yeah like bro like like all all respect to Andy Circus I'm sure he didn't have much to do with the writing why the [ __ ] you why the first why the [ __ ] you kill Carnage second why the [ __ ] you kill Woody harelson as Carnage give Carnage his own movie make that [ __ ] as pushing the envelope is humanly possible that'd be that'd be a bang if if you think about about it in the first Venom you got rid of R who's phal then you get Woody harelson and you do the same thing like what are we doing like this gota be somebody who survives so at least keep that rival going something if you want to keep these going big fact but also if this is Hardy's last one then out of all the Sony verse nons Spiderman's villains pretty much I mean morbius wasn't great they [ __ ] that movie up just to make Adam Madam web even worse you know I mean it's like and then this C like I said but also we're judging this just based on the trailer where I mean I'm hoping what we're seeing is a misdirect and like confusion that actually comes out somewhat decent I'm not saying this W is this ain't you know going to be great you know I mean Shakespeare but at day I just hope it's something similar to the first two and it and it somewhat makes sense but do I like Aaron Taylor Johson Ariana deos allisandro niola Russell Crow the Craven cast is solid and the movie is gonna be trash oh yeah yeah directed by the dude who did triple Frontier which I like that movie I like very solid yeah it's Sony it's just Sony man Sony is like Warner brother's little brother like they can't get out of their own way uh Eric what do you how do you feel about the Last Dance not the [ __ ] [Music] documentary my I just I just B it the other day it just came in that's funny oh man oh you got me by a fraction of a I a Chicago ass dude I don't I know where he's going to go just cuz I didn't say Venom no it is so um like I mentioned Kelly Kelly Marcel who's gonna does he voice Venom she wrote who was that does Tom Hardy voice Venom yeah he does that's his voice modulated blah blah blah Venom you sound like an [ __ ] but Kelly Marcel wrote all three of the movies that's why she directing Tom Hardy funny enough she wrot Tom Hardy came up with the story she wrote Saving Mr Banks yeah in 50 Shades of Gray okay the Venom Trilogy is like smorgas Board of Saving Mr Banks in 50 Shades of Gray yeah somewhere in the middle yeah closer to 50 shades EP Venom and prod the second movie um Let There Be Carnage Let There Be Carnage there still something um funky about that when it funky ass hair yeah but how long was that movie 97 minutes I'm assuming with credits not even 100 minutes it was suspiciously short release the circus cut yeah something but I don't know it's just like yeah whatever with uh the last stands you know we we're all going to go see it she's going to when whenever they go oh man if if if he doesn't go back to his Universe I want I want Mrs chin I was just at work and this this this cartoon looking dude with polka dot just popped out and took some gum please yeah but we'll see yeah it's just whatever this nonsense what what other trailer came out y'all got me talking about this [ __ ] [ __ ] up my October let let's let's let's bump it up two weeks out of November CA [ __ ] Randy and Nick's horror binge what about me bro uh what you get latest trailers uh did y'all see this is like minuscule but did y'all see the the trailer for The Killers game with Bautista yes that look interesting that looks solid right and I like um JJ Perry he's the guy who did um like um the director of John Wick well the directors they broke off DAV Le he's a former stunt coordinator and he made um that was the movie Jamie Fox made the night shift Breaking All the Rules I'm sorry um that might have been it like the wolf's trailer was solid but I guess Venom was probably the big trailer yeah as far as yeah mean um yeah other than that you got the the alien ramulus trailer oh that was the one I wasn't on YouTube for whatever whack ass reason that [ __ ] looks amazing yeah it does Fay Alvarez bouncing back from the the girl in The Spiders web he hasn't directed since that oh yeah am I tripping probably that's a good question y'all know I didn't see no evil dead only because they're Flex from the evil dead and don't breathe don't breath oh I like those I don't care about alien but I like the Evil Dead one for alien Romulus [ __ ] normies yeah man I don't I can't think of the primary cast off top of my head isn't a CI spany shorty from Civil War in it uh yeah she's in it um here we go that's the only big name that I know Isabella mer get the bounce back from Madam web uh young cast I guess but that's dope yeah because didn't she do um D the Explorer yeah years ago um she been on some she been on some [ __ ] like I think she's about to be in the next Last of Us move uh season she Madam web voiced migration she did that Father of the Bride remake for for Max I mean yeah I guess nothing major since dly Explorer with Madam web is the most recent thing yeah who we talk about Isabella Merced the uh the Hispanic girl from Madam web she's in Alien her next two movies are huge though alien and Superman she's about to play hog girl and [Music] Superman [Music] um but yeah man the way that they selling the Xenomorphs and the face huggers and like the trailers there's two trailers and they both High attension Wikipedia says it's set in between the first two Alien movies I thought it was before the first one which one this one I heard ramulus was originally before the first Ridley Scott alien but whoever whichever random [ __ ] in all of the Free World edited this Wikipedia page says it's in between the first two which I mean they could easily spin that like hey the I don't know the [ __ ] [ __ ] the 426 or whatever the [ __ ] they need backup and Ripley's already on her way back home or some [ __ ] um yeah yeah dude that that poster is fire too like I I genuinely don't know what poster I want to grab for my review because they're both so dope yeah it's a of Simplicity you don't to overo with it so do I want that black- on black with the drool or do I want this face hugger yeah yeah that should have been the tagline though because on social media they was all like do you need a hug oh dude that's some dihe [ __ ] I still think the the best tagline is from the original one they flipped it in this trailer though oh yeah that's right in space nobody can hear you not scream not breathe not whatever the [ __ ] nobody can hear you yeah because the original one of alien in the first one it was like in space no one can hear you scree that's that's the tagline they went with but that's what's so fire about [ __ ] like Jaws alien something else recently did that [ __ ] now I'm blanking like the slow uh Godzilla G Edwards Godzilla the slow buildup to the dope really dope reveal and sometimes not showing the creature or the monster yeah you know intensifies it even more and which is why this is the last trailer I'm gonna watch you know they start yeah giving away too much look at it signs like that what to this day the kids at the party when you're watching it and like the alien walks through like the driveway real quick I mean that whole buildup you're like what the but you hear them all over the house and throughout the movie and then you see little of like their foot sticking out you know in the cornfield or this or that but you don't see them all until that contaminated bro that's still in night best movie man that's still M might best movie Signs is a masterpiece yeah I know he be [ __ ] on Chris stckman but like one of the best videos he ever did was like he like analyze signs or some [ __ ] it was so it it was good uh so horrible segue that's what we're known for Eric on that yak um I think I'mma rank the Bad Boys franchise one 342 Eric what you got we're not including the the Bad Boys with Sean that's a great movie do I look to be in a gaming mood brother that movie is fantastic a little bit right no but uh the Bad Boys franchise I would go to be honest we ever anything El publish my list yet but I would go 2-1 2 one 43 yeah I like part two better than part one interesting I think part Eric rocket rocket drop your list and then I need Eric to defend that whack ass take yeah go ahead right I got 1342 my man and like I said it's like I enjoyed two a lot but to me the last two installments I think three was better than Four movie wise but this one I was laughing a lot like it just it was I mean Martin Lawrence like like his delivery was pretty good in this one that that's the thing like like I don't want to I don't want to jump on like I already I already gave the floor but like that's my [ __ ] like Martin is getting goofier like Marcus Bernett is becoming a goofier character and like I don't know how to explain like the humor aspect is I don't know he becomes like every new Marcus Bernett becomes a shell of the previous Marcus Bernett that's interesting right yeah so Eric you're wrong opinion whack here and every okay man who thinks time cop is better than Hard Target um let me um as the host my opinions is fact as as as the the Indiana University fitted cap gives me the dictation to be like y'all opinions is wrong even though that [ __ ] is bogus but check this out so when I put the list um you'll see the star rating when I make um on my letter box so uh the star ratings of bad boys one and two for me are the same both the star ratings of three and four are the same both four the thing is which one the yeah you gave the new one a three and a half I already sent it no no three and four three and a half so bad boys two factually the first Bad Boys is a five so two he said no but um so the thing about bad boys too is that real it with m when Michael B's career is done and over with when he's retired as a director you're gonna take a a handful of movies they there's a name for it called bism B I think Michael um the bad boys to I think is the birth and the peak of bism everything that Michael ba is great at is Bad Boys 2 in my opinion now Bad Boys one even Michael B himself said he budget was that that's that's an amazing movie don't get me wrong but he himself even said there was a lot about that movie he didn't like that he couldn't do but you can't tell good he always needs a leash yeah that's true you can't tell and I think um Bad Boys first one is a lot more grounded yes that's why it's better and um and yeah and I and I'll give you that that's that's that's the thing to back and forth with it I don't think but bad boys too like if you're gonna go all out yeah if you gota you know what I mean it is what um the freeway the causeway Chase technically the the shootout and the drug dealer's House the End like if you think about it spoilers people spoilers for all four bad boys movies yeah the ending the Bad Boys 2 and the ending the Bad Boys four are very similar when the gun I told my wife that [ __ ] you know going to another country to Res theost yeah but now Bad Boys 2 is just um but also with bad boys too is Michael bism is his his silly humor like I BR in a group like they could have just taken that video camera to the police station they take it to like a a c City or something but that whole scene a couple of GPS on us yeah and that that that s the the the the reciprocation the mocking the the original the the Hispanic cop saying that [ __ ] probably was scripted but Martin kicking it back was it had to have been off the top yeah and and we all been there roasting and talking we've all done that repeated that's what's hilarious Mar and somebody wrote um I watched the video on YouTube like I don't I don't know Randy you gotta somebody wrote this the comments they like oh man only Latinos and black people joke like that still be love I'm in those cir I'm in I'm in those circles no but now but if you know the story I don't want to hog the floor if you know the story behind Bad Boys one you defend yourong opinion it was John L and Dana Carvey is insane yeah no way you didn't know that know that yeah go go look up that whole story that's on IMDb I've known that [ __ ] for like 20 years yeah but um but like um Cy and St story about how but part one I gotta get but one thing you gotta get part one is which I think brings um their characters and the actors together Will Smith and Martin Lawrence or Marcus and Mike part one was extremely improvised you're not sexy they couldn't they couldn't afford they couldn't afford or Michael B didn't want to Short change the screenwriter to make it fit to um Mari Lawrence and Will Smith so Michael B says skip it will we'll keep most of the core story and will'll improvise the dialogue interesting p a lot of is um you don't feel the D that's from all of that what you say I see you see me with the shirt off him you see you see Mike he come out butt ass naked and then you see the white girl yeah oh yo you know that's not written did ter did Teresa Rando retire I don't know um that was we about to get to that so that's the she so fine the only thing that I can find from like Tasha Smith being the wife and Ry or die is that like Teresa Randle just don't act no more well the thing is this St is I like Teresa Randle but she like she's a phenomenal actress but also like her look she was always pissed off at you know Marcus some's doing DB every time he did something or whatever so like even like she didn't have to say nothing just the look she brought you were like he's in trouble you know with the recast I think she's a great actress as well but you don't get that Vibe I mean you don't get you know what I mean it's like her only scenes was right after a heart attack Health scare and and an ambush yeah she didn't have that much screen time um before we get off I'm G Circle back want y'all to talk but it's something I want to see if we all agree with it's with all four movies now that I wanted to discuss if somebody else want to take the floor I'll go right into it if you want me to go ahead go ahead go ahead all right so something in all four movies that um are that is consistent unfortunately in my opinion police what's that police black people black people jokes uh botching botching lyrics bickering you're eventually probably gonna accidentally it a a Michael Bay Cameo did he cameo in the first one um did he I don't think only one I don't think the POR and um the fourth one yeah yeah yeah when when Martin when when Martin's on that I can't die [ __ ] he he's driving one of those cars yeah yeah yeah that's definitely a Porsche but now the thing um that want discuss that's consistent now it's like people people who say underrated um is equal people seem to think these days when they say underrated it means bad so when I say generic generic doesn't mean bad generic is does so talk about the villains oh yeah yeah the main villains this is probably Bad Boys is probably like the second greatest buddy cop franchise out there with the most forgettable [ __ ] villains and plot holes yeah I agree C like name name one villain I mean Tapia is all I got I forget which movie he's in Tapia is two second one right I think fet is one one f is one um three is three is the bruha baby M the Warlock yeah yeah and then Warlock and then Grey's Anatomy is is the the one we just seen which it's r or die yeah blood bath McGrath yeah uh yeah Ryder di might be the best villain either fuche or McGrath is the best villain I think the the the the witch I think baby moms is the weakest but what Carri lifts her up is um well yeah character the emotional connection to to Mike yeah and that's what lift that because kind like a twofer but then you know what happened obviously with his character but um yeah and it's like you see what I mean it's they're not bad they're just cookie cutter forget nothing memorable cookie cutter you know because you go to the Lethal Weapon you obviously um first come to mind Jet Lee and then you got Gary buy Mr Joshua uh yeah remember from part two uh Arin Arin whatever the [ __ ] your name is um like right before he gets killed you remember Jack Travis yeah he's probably the weakest in Elite weapon series but yeah and wasn't that in the third one weapon three right yeah now going back to Bad Boys it's just you know um which which villain we can discuss Ricky tan who's who's the villain in R three uh uh what's her name brother and then yeah but it's like I can't I can't tell you the Beverly Hills Cop villains either um the only thing I can that's a good point only is what's her name two but she was technically the Hench woman yeah yeah Bridget neelson yeah so but I tell you this um the villain from part one I don't know his name but he has one of the coldest lines in um Beverly Hills Cop series you're [ __ ] with my timetable Beverly Hills Cop Beverly Hills Cop now they're sitting at the table this when a Foy goes to the um Country Club and they're eating dinner oh yeah and um and he says um like I'm like I know you kill Mike and I'm gonna get you I'm gonna I'm gonna F you up real bad and then he's said that would be a neat trick hey this my show Baby K Kell 570 baby you want to say [ __ ] you say [ __ ] ain't no F ain't no F we ain't putting ear Ms on this [ __ ] but now B back to the topic at hand Perfection is perfected I'mma make them understand uh who would be I called I called the Reed Richards being dirty like that [ __ ] was predictable as [ __ ] yeah at at the wedding I knew that [ __ ] at the wedding yeah just how he just popped up like hey yeah it's like you don't hire however you say his government name because I'm always call him 2005 Reed Richards to just be the mayor you know I can't say it I call him I think it's likeon Gord or something like that there you go yeah call him IG IG yeah there you go IG IG with the [ __ ] up algorithm uh right but man that um spoilers spoilers spoilers that that elevator seem was kind of tense yeah as soon as she snatched the phone like I knew it was going to turn up yeah I thought they were gonna spoilers spoilers I thought they were gonna let her go I'm like man I thought he yeah I thought he was gonna kill her same here same here that was a good scene but yeah but like as as fun as this [ __ ] was like it had some cliche and it had some predictability yeah it's gonna that's come with territory nowadays what what can you do this Cu uh shorty from shorty from [ __ ] uh better call saw go before I change my mind like we we've seen that [ __ ] a million in one times but it was still good though at the end at the end I was like yo Mike shot him again God what you say my bad say like I thought for a split second I thought Reed Richards and Will Smith's wife were in on it because when she wouldn't like the way she answered that phone when she finally did it was like little suspect yeah and then Al also you know the Marshall's daughter shows up and I'm like a sh thought something Shady but that yeah I thought that too yeah there was a split second where I feel like like Mike was having trouble getting uh getting a hold of the professor from Power book two who was smashing the basketball player but y'all don't watch that [ __ ] so y'all don't know what I'm talking about um but yeah like she was taking a long [ __ ] time to answer that phone but it's like it's 2024 like I don't know the timeline in this 29y year history of this franchise but plot and then took it to everything else the only movie he the only movie he's done done that I have ranked the only movie that he's done after Bad Boys 2 that I have ranked higher and it's probably a hot that DC put out over the last year and a half or so yeah the action sequences at least would have got praised yeah but definitely shout out to the directors because obviously yes I mean just like the the clip that went viral with the act with the with the camera with Will Smith on with that rig on that [ __ ] was cold that was dop and how it turned out in actual movie I'm feeling like my stupid ass like I I leaned over to my wife I was like yo he put on Instagram the other day he's like wearing this rig with the camera so you getting like this POV shot through the shootout and [ __ ] and then it cut to him and he and he just got like the Tag vest on what the [ __ ] I know I know the cut I know they cut and he's not gonna have it on but it's just like was weird for a split second what you mean saw behind the scenes before the movie yeah like editing and [ __ ] like dope editing I think they are rumored for Spider-Man 4 keep it in the Sony family Sony might actually do something good you say no like having that rig though like his motions were pretty I mean I know it's edited but smooth because that look like it could have got in the way naturally you know so it looked like it got but the way they did it it looked super smooth yeah and Al and also those two that duo directing what I've seen they haven't really put out nothing really bad out like they did Miss Marvel they did Bad Boys for life they did this you know I mean like everything they've been on has been pretty solid so like you said with bgirl I wonder if like you said his was just like is a dark place it's losing money we got to make up some of this money we're just going to cut this yeah and take it as a tax right off uh do either one of y'all know the projections for ryer die the week opening weekend I know it made 5 like five and a half million on the Thursday night which is not bad that's what I'm saying like it made 20 on Friday like I think I think hopefully it's gonna be in the 50s yeah work with him Michael B Jord is GNA work with him too so if he's that of a bad person if I'm Michael B Jordan getting to work with Will Smith is like a bucket list thing like I don't give a [ __ ] no ranking is honestly bad said if you like if you like the old man as well I forget the scene I leaned over and told my wife I leaned over and uh told my wife like the like three and four just should have been called Bad Boys we ain't Young no more it's probably when Martin had the heart attack yeah but but um it's projected I got the number stay on it's projected to go 53 or 54 million nice nice what did uh the interesting thing is relatively um that's a good question I think it did 60 man off top a lower budget movie yeah I think the budget was like CL estimated 100 million that's what they said that's crazy that that's a l but yeah no [ __ ] I mean given given the type of movie it is it bad boys for Life opened to 62 like a month before Co it's still made 206 million the highest gross in domestic movie in 2020 yeah so 53 like 53 is typical for a followup like a small drop off yeah yeah that's not bad and given the competition it's still impressive with Sonic the Hedgehog that year yeah invisible man I don't remember what else came out in January and I'll tell you this right now if it's even 53 548 to n million difference from the last yeah with with what happened with Will Smith yeah I me eight and N million I think we would all take that that's a win you know that's money that's a win to me because for all the trash we've been hearing you thought it would be like 25 million that's a drop this is domestic numbers we're talking about it's not right that's what I'm saying we don't even know what worldwise it's not like it really has any competition either because inside out isn't competition probably drop off inside outo probably drop it'll drop but that like aside from furiosa like there's not really any other action bike riders kinds of kindness a quiet place right and also too is like it's also reverse programming you know school just came out families if you want to see inside out too they you go and all the kids that finish with high school they watching the set out too they're going to go watch Bad Boys you know me get in there somehow yeah so I mean y i well I think it's gonna be profitable so yeah yeah it all right let's let's break and we'll come back and discuss two movies that came out literally on this day 40 years ago n n n ner y'all want to go uh Ghostbusters or Gremlins first Ghostbusters then we're not gonna touch on Gremlins at all probably not no so five movies in the franchise it looked like it was originally supposed to be acoy Murray Murphy and Belushi that would have been fire yeah I'm assuming Eddie Murphy was just way too busy well they had well yeah he had but it was Bill Murray I heard was the one that was holding a lot of stuff up too what else is new yeah we didn't get a we didn't get a proper Ghostbusters Three because Bill Murray like didn't like any of the scripts over 28 n 34 years he was lowkey well not lowkey and plus the r his beef on the best yeah so that was holding it up too unfortunately so that's why they decided to go young right I mean I wan to ask you me ask the host start off with this me what's your star rating for Ghostbuster five sinkle yeah that's the only that means I'm get I'm going get shocked if I get if if I say the wrong number I'm gonna feel a little shocked oh snap but no um it it Go easily five star movie right let me do the rankings first to me is the OG 84 afterlife and then I believe I put Frozen Empire over to and then the Paul fig interesting including might put the Paul fig over two I don't know off top of my head I don't like I know you give that [ __ ] like a two and a half like you lowkey hate the P Ghostbusters I do not I think it's enjoyable and I I wish they would have like to me like it like this is just the Sony episode Venom Bad Boys Ghostbusters but to me I would have kept the Paul feed ghost Ghostbusters in the loop and even if it's in a different dimension or universe or whatever the [ __ ] set up Ghostbusters like [ __ ] police stations different cities different cast yeah that would have been interesting that would be interesting right yeah um what you got like your turn I the first one is legendary that's number one but I agree afterlife would be two frozen Empire be three my man I would go the Paul Fe one as four and oh two be the fifth one now the thing is this with that one they could have had the girls and all that but they should my take would on it would have been have each one be like a family member or a niece or somebody else of of the other Ghostbusters like at the end keep it like that how they did keep it like that because the way they did it was like you took the original crew and it was like you just had him there just to have him there just to make cameos like oh look this is Bill Murray he's he doesn't believe in ghosts in this one you know he's the do you know it's like the best thing was with um was Ernie Hudson's character he was the uncle yeah of one of the girls and how they got you know the hearse to get Leslie Jones you know the Ghostbusters Leslie Jones you know Uncle and all that but at the end of the days if they would have done something like that i' would been cool with it like yeah it's Ernie Huston's character you know from Ghostbusters and hey this is my niece now you pass it down that way and now you could have brought them in to afterlife and all the and and the other ones but to have them as more like just cameos to make you you know just to have them yeah to say look for the sake of hey they approved us doing this yeah exactly where I think I think that would have been except better fom but I also like how what Randy's idea too is like I mean look times just ghost Escape multi universes you got things they could have been like in the universe they could have been brought in I mean [ __ ] we're doing it with them you might as well just go all out on all the franchy boy you know sun to that effect or have them be somewhere else different city whatever they wanted to do it like they could have done that so much better po Fe one though I think would be four and then Ghostbusters two would be five all right uh well I think the best thing right the best thing that the Paul F movie did along with vacation the best thing the PA [ __ ] did he go the best thing the Paul Ghostbusters did along with vacation was was show the world that Chris hensworth is funny as [ __ ] yes yeah my man's broke his chair what they one thing that they did with that uh they should have just had Chris Helmsworth be beat a villain yeah that would have been good you know that that um it was an interesting twist had villain be a human character first and but whatever but about before we get started I re watch extraction T proba best action I've seen they need to put that on physical oh yeah I still um Ghostbusters Ghostbusters one Ghostbusters one Ghostbusters won you fo because it spit High fire now ghost verus one um Ghostbusters 2 Frozen Empire that's [Music] it it Ghostbusters 20 wait come or answer the call Ghostbusters one afterlife Ghostbusters two okay I didn't hear after Frozen Empire in 2016 I didn't okay I thought you was ignoring after life I was gonna reach into here's what we gotta do slap the [ __ ] out you but now Randy you mentioned something I want to did I expand on it because it's it's intriguing um so Dan auroy had worked with Eddie Murphy in trading places yeah he did and um and he told him about it and at that time desing what the shooting script was going to be he had a crazy it's out there somewhere what the original it was it would have been back then like1 million doll to shoot the movie when the idea was spitball like Eddie Murphy wasn't quite Eddie Murphy yet right they had just started but so um it affect the movie because Dan arroy was so um confident that Eddie Murphy would a movie like they literally had to um this is reason the actual reason that Ernie Hudson comes in the movie when he does because um Eddie Murphy characters would have been a student at the University that they got fired from oh that would have been cool so he would have been he would have been in the movie earlier Winston he would have been a younger College dude did he go to the university of the United States it's stupid no but he would have left he would have left with them when they got fired and he would have been the audience character which Winston still is technically explaining all to him yeah and blah blah blah and um and John John Candy was supposed to be um leis Lewis Telly word interesting I didn't know that yeah so yeah it was a whole bunch bu of changes that they made um and also there was a show um Dan arroy didn't know about the show a show called Ghostbusters it was a coincidence that he got the name but they found out when they were deep in the shooting and they had for every time they said Ghostbuster in the movie they had the two more takes that said Ghost Stoppers or ghost blasters cover your cya baby cover your ass they could get they didn't know if they could get right they get the rights um the clips they're on YouTube um you can see them just like who you going to call like Ghost Stoppers Ghost Stoppers and yeah I'm seeing them the footage is um footage is out there easy to see but I think um in my personal opinion Ghostbusters is the perfect you go back and watch it it's lightning in the bottle the pacing is perfect a lot of the visual effects still hold up remember if it was a podcast I don't remember if it was in the group chat but the way that you explain that that Ivan wman filmed a comedy like a horror movie bro like it's genius yeah think about it back in the day C spam was filmed in true wide screen and listen to the score by Bernard heran that's a legit it's not a even with the those parts that's as goofy as a score gets but yeah like the same when um the the dark Spirit kidnaps um Dana that's a scary ass scene yeah it's a horror movie back back then we saw that as a horror flick yeah yeah comedians like you know some comic elements right comic elements but was a horror flck that's why bad boys all four [ __ ] bad boys movies should be action movies with comedic elements fair enough yeah but first one is but I wanted to point out one of my favorite scenes in the movie It's I bet you this scene if this movie was made today it would have got cut and it shows um great and um some great character development and especially with the Winston character who didn't really have a lot to do but enough no so the scene in the car he was just a vessel for the the car yeah the scene with Ray and Winston in the car when they started talking about religion like hey and I like Ray's response he said do you believe in God he said never met but he said I do believe in he said I do believe in the Bible which is interesting they have like a legit like philosophical conversation yeah and not a simple minded one and he's like oh yeah what if um that he that he quotes um the thing but I think that's one of the best scenes in the movie because just two guys talking but it's also it's pushing the story forward yeah you're like but what if that is happening like like cuz we're so busy because the dead are rising from you know that scene but one of my favorite scenes from the original is also with Ernie Hudson it's it's kind of a two in one where when they're in jail and they're talking like looking at the map and he's like let me out of here I just met these guys so you're thinking [ __ ] this guy's gonna turn on them and then when they go to the mayor's office if you notice when Ernie Hudson starts talking if you look in the background you see Bill Murray you know how Rey misses character and Dan aoy they were like oh [ __ ] he's gonna us new guys about to [ __ ] us over yeah and he's like he talk to the man he's like I've seen [ __ ] that'll turn you white yeah a lot of people don't that you know that's great film making yeah because one scene you're thinking I don't know these guys I'm not associated with them even though he just started working with them and then also I think I'm have to get my own lawyer yeah exactly and then in the next scene he's talking to the mayor and in the background the original G bu is like we're [ __ ] the new guys like you said Randy new guys are going to us over and he does it he sticks up for them so it's like that that's what I love about Ernie Hudson's character yeah yeah but yeah um and also I don't know if y'all can remember Randy with the age jokes you lined it up with your old ass the first time y'all saw the movie one of the best reveals character reveals the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man oh yeah oh yeah and you just remember the track shot you see this big head and then like oh man but yeah that [ __ ] was hilarious in itself like I don't remember the specific dialogue but it was uh stance like it was the only first thing I could think of and big ass [ __ ] marshmallow crash in New York he said it just popped in there like what just popped in there like what did you do uh go say you have chosen and they're like no no we haven't said did you choose CH yeah oh yeah yeah but great directing man look at the whole scene when you rewatch it and she says choose your destruct and look at Ray doing that and he's trying you can see him thinking but trying not to think it's a little subtleties yeah yeah but um but also trivia because that's that's who I am um a nerd Ghostbusters is the first nerd Ghostbusters first dual layer DVD meaning that they utilize every single um inch of memory on a DVD remember back in the day um they had uh they had an angle button on the DVD yeah I know Randy they utilized every feature there's this feature it first of all Ghostbusters is the first ever DVD 1997 nice and they had a feature where you could cut to um before the visual effects and the finished movie with the angle button and it's one of the first movies on DVD that had the audio commentary and they had them like Mystery Science Ste the 3000 you see the Silhouettes hell Ramos and damn Dan arroy watching the movie y'all don't remember any of that do y yeah I don't break until I done the DVD commentary stupid um that's fire yeah yeah just um oh and more news the song uh Ghostbusters byy that one guy par junor that him uhhuh who got sued by your mama Lewis who no way did he yeah listen to um I need I got a new drug or I need a new drug I got a new drug yeah listen to that I don't know if you get in your head play that song listen to it okay um basically is the same thing as Ghostbuster and it was a settlement that um I forgot what the settlement was but anyway he had a decent chunk of money because he basically stole um stole a track it's it's the same beat the same Cadence and listen to the song they was cut thr yeah pretty much but the song itself was nominated for an auor and um rightfully so triv for y'all effects was nominated but lost to Terminator uh steeve Spielberg movie in 1984 Temple of Doom no it's not ET was 82 Temple he got it ET was 82 yeah Indiana Jones won visual effects that was just a given Spiel but yeah can't argue it um but no yeah but but if y'all get segue time because another movie that came out the same day was produced by Steve steelberg [ __ ] [ __ ] that segue I told y'all we ain't talking about no Gremlins I gave y'all a chance I'm talking about the uh the re the The Real Ghostbusters animated show was was Canon uh was it that's what Wikipedia Wikipedia got like four different cannons on this [ __ ] oh goodness original continu I was trying to buy that cartoon series and that [ __ ] is like $200 yeah hard to find yeah original it says original continuity is one two afterlife Spirits Unleashed I don't know if that's a video game or what and then Frozen Empire oh yeah the video game it came out like 2009 or 10 no this is 2223 um oh I wonder know where the hell is the animated film animated continuity says original Real Ghostbusters seasons 1 through four Ghostbusters two Real Ghostbusters 5 through seven and then extreme Ghostbusters I must have been too old for that [ __ ] video game continuity heard of it the continuity with that game is one two and then that game that came out in 2009 yeah that one it's technically the last time the original cast together because they all return as voices the 16 Ghostbusters has a continuity I what the [ __ ] Ghostbusters 101 is yeah somebody they just list is this is this fan [ __ ] what is yeah that's gota that's fan oh that's a comic book ghostb crossing over yeah reboot continuity ain't [ __ ] I Remember Loving The Real Ghostbusters animated series I had those toys and all oh this is terrible um Ernie Hudson spoke on um and shout out to Bill Murray um for once who came to B for Ernie Hudson cause Sony was treating uh or Columbia back in the day was treating Ernie Hudson like [ __ ] supposedly he didn't get invited to the premere really what yeah and a whole bunch of other silly that he spoke out he said Bill Murray stepped up to the pl for with a lot of stuff like what in the G with the wind are we talking about yeah it's crazy I pull up the article and give it to Y it was just and because it started happening when around and he came back to do sequels he came back to do the sequel and he came back for these reboots yeah that's why um because Murray he um like look here he like if y got problem with him y got a problem with me and my dog yeah arony Hudson and he said after that he didn't have any more issues Ghostbusters to Bill Murray can cuss Lucy Lou out all the [ __ ] he wants so with the real Ghostbusters I'm just playing I Love Lucy L who is the Winston and The Real Ghostbusters not Ernie Hudson uh so a story look it up don't look it up don't I know it don't look it up word you probably in the first three seasons no way yeah yeah Uncle Joey if you ain't come across this one so Ernie Hudson went in because he had never done voiceover work he wanted to reprise his character for the cartoon none of the original actors are in it though no but Ernie Hudson he said he just he wanted to do voiceover he never done it and as an actor yeah and he he auditioned and he didn't get the part but I'm the I'm the live action guy sound they said he didn't sound like the original actor that is called stupidity because he is the actor yeah you can look it up tells the story that's like Michael Keaton auditioning for Batman and animated series and not getting that [ __ ] yeah yeah exactly and they hired Areno they hired Areno H I think it just stuff I don't know but Areno was that he he only he only did this the first yeah we can't all be was the voice of R to get permission for the name that [ __ ] started in 86 I must have called that [ __ ] in syndication because it started like six months after I was born yeah it was definitely probably Sy IND because those action figures was fire yeah I had a lot of those to I miss I'm pissed and missed that I let a lot of those toys go yeah bro I I passed off a lot of my action figures to my little cousin bro worst day of my life like I had the Trap I had the Trap the the the pro time P the car like man yeah those toys I'm trying to see find like the cartoon like that animated yeah but speaking of the gap between the first two movies look Gap I just had a five Gap I just had a revelation what's that rocket is older than the original Halloween yeah [ __ ] yeah am about 1978 yeah I don't even know if you I saw that I don't even know if you legally permitted to to talk to Nick bro I I invented Cinema you you was old as Jaws my guy stupid you you was old as Jaws homie so Ghostbusters cartoon it was crazy Ghostbusters cartoon was from 86 to 87 yeah but it was one season of 65 episodes yeah they used to bang him out back what the [ __ ] is Extreme Ghostbusters though I just never yeah I never remember I never got on with extreme Ghostbusters two three seasons that oh it looks pretty like the Batman is yeah I don't really know if I'm Ving with that animation part two I guess we could discuss because at the like you said the 35th Anniversary coming out for that yeah with uh Peter M nickel goofy ass yeah which was have y ever watched the amount of deleted scenes from that movie nah oh that is what I want a director cut of because they cut a lot that it it's not a it doesn't give plot holes but it makes a lot of stuff inconsistent yeah and it's um so you know the scene where they're in the pain right this ghost speci too we talking about yep and Ray gets hypnotized yeah I remember that vaguely so a big scene cut that's plays that comes back into play at the end of the movie so when they leave the um when they leave examining beo um Ray is still hypnotized and then he just guns the um he guns the Ecto the Ghostbusters car and they're trying to snap him out of it and there's a clip from that scene that they cut in the actual movie remember um Peter's like in the back of the car does like a double take I don't know if y'all remember it's a little clip during the M time remember that he looks and then he like does that but that comes from that scene that they cut and this is this is supposed to play back into him getting rehy at the end of the movie interesting and um Eugene Levy entire character cut have y seen his he's the cousin of leis Tully that's that's great casting yeah dope but they they cut his whole character he's the one in the original cut of the movie that gets them out of the the crazy um syum when they get committed see I want to see that version of it I want to see that's what I'm saying they cut and they reshot some like the scene when they're trying to get um Peter to come with them to go underground that was shot apartment originally then they did it on the Remember come with me if you want to live but wrong y'all see I'm I'm a real geek with all this stuff but the uh what is it the Eugene Levy character is interesed that's on YouTube those the I go check that out also just looked it up the Ghostbusters the animated stuff the Ghostbusters The Wacky one dropped the 30th of 86 like 50 episodes or yeah the the real gers Dr dropped five days later same they running what the [ __ ] continuously so I so must have been there must have been something where whoever get they got the Ghostbusters one that we just G to do it must got the rights to be like this is the real one with these characters they that's crazy that it within within less than a week of each other they dropped yeah they trying the original they were trying to capitalize because they still retain the rights to use the name d but it had to be based on what the original show was that's why I'm so damn weird yeah so um yeah for for like all throughout the 90s and maybe the 2000s like like Dan akroy like this [ __ ] like we only got afterlife in Frozen Empire because Dan akroy was such a [ __ ] advocate for keeping his franchise cooking and he had a script like I had heard about this [ __ ] yeah that like his idea for the original Ghostbusters 3 was like to go to hell and [ __ ] right something like that yeah yeah it says like a demonic version of Manhattan yeah most go ahead the only thing I know is Bill Murray was pulling the Harrison Ford card where he wanted his character to die yeah yeah that that that was that was a big hold up as in the script that wasn't that wasn't the case he wanted his character to die so it was like the big holdups what changed and never yeah money I don't so it's you know I get I get not killing off vman in afterlife because they in there for like 20 seconds but like the OG's was heavily involved in Frozen Empire like why not do it then yeah Ghostbusters what do you want good question D also but also I feel like life was fantastic was you know how r Ravens passed away and emotion the way they did it and Incorporated exactly the way they Incorporated it his character and how it ended and that that's with him you know obviously CGI character but you hear all the OG saying you know it's been too long I should have called you we should have talked I bet you that's something might have been in the script but also with all the behind the scenes stuff and you know know back and forth and you know the bad taste in their mouth arguing you know they probably realize you know that might have just been just them just saying these lines not being in the script you know that's what I'm saying you know it just you don't realize good bad or indifferent when you lose somebody that was you know you had more good times than bad obviously and this is an industry this is an industry and these remember bill they got into to it they were in Stripes they did a ton of movie that's where I was about to for a long time they did a g [ __ ] before Ghostbusters yeah they were close all these guys were close yeah you know then you have bad turn and then someone passes away I mean come on me another one yeah that's right you know so it's like I guarantee you that dialogue rightman directed me script you know so rayis wrote me B yeah afterlife had that emotional attachment you know one actually one OG actually passed away you know so so how they Incorporated that and all that so I think with with um Frozen Empire like I said I had a good time it was fun and all that I enjoyed Frozen Empire a lot so so did I but I wish they would have had the ogs in it a tiny bit less yes because and moved it Forward more with the family but it's like like I'm becoming like a huge fan of McKenna Grace like I love the McKenna Grace character in these two movies and then she got like whatever they did with like her spirit and [ __ ] in Fr was an Empire that [ __ ] was dope yeah that was a lot of people did like that but um that's what drove the plot like that's what that's what let the big bad do like execute the plan without that you don't have a movie but like man [ __ ] I be seeing [ __ ] do that [ __ ] like oh Peter Quill is why thano snapped and and blah blah blah it's like bro like you wna you want to call a character a dumbass like you're arguing the writing of the movie it just don't make no sense to me but it look it looks like frozen Empire made a 100 million over budget y'all think we get a five nah it'll be they'll set it up as the last I would hope as a fan but I like to see like do it do it in the sense of like Eric saying as a fan I would like to see one more but end it where you know if the OG guys with the one away or not or whatever the case is you hand the torch over and then you just use your imagination like you know their future was this and it just leave it at that there some some things don't need to be explained you know what I mean let your imagination and that's what makes C like characters or movies great is because when you don't have to explain everything what are y'all talking about and I feel like sometimes I feel like that's what when it comes to certain movies they need to explain every damn detail was that your answer to do we get a follow of the Ghostbusters Empire with the new cast Frozen Empire so I said yeah they should do a fifth one I ain't had that many drinks just a little I'm just because I really I love like I love the K [ __ ] Paul R McKenna Grace Finn wolfard Dynamic and everybody talking [ __ ] and it's like I feel like we got like character development with them where they at in life after ideas for bits or different scenes or gags or whatever and they got shot down it had to have been and it's just yeah and funny enough they cut one of the scenes that I think was actually pretty interesting I think they restored it um on um Blu-ray is um it was funny and the dancing oh okay I remember that I feel like I have like I have like a vision of Chris himsworth pop locking in my head said pop lock but yeah it's it's oh we talking about like way Christen work Christen wig is like trying to twerk on Chris himsworth and [ __ ] no that's cuz like like that was some of the funny your
