EPIC Battle With The BIGGEST STEELHEAD Of My LIFE!

[Music] foreign [Music] Hello Alex and welcome back to another death River challenge we're back with some new friends I got my best buddy Phil and Coulter so yesterday I met Coulter on the river both just dinking around she asked for a ride he's hiking a section I gave him a ride so we went and fished a hole together and he caught the biggest deal of his life so instantly that makes us best friends it was an absolutely incredible fish and we fought it up and down up and down on the river and I netted it for him and it was a great way to meet a new friend so we decided hey what are you doing tomorrow let's go fish the same River from the boat and here we go back to death River number two we're in the same place as I was with Marlon the other day if you guys didn't see that video go check it out it's in the link in the description it's gonna be a fun day weather is perfect and look at the river no all these things are about to happen [Music] foreign and I had very dreary rainy and extremely sporty and what I mean by that is the rowing treachery you got all these Boulders sticking out of the waters a lot of really hard moves through here and I got more people in the boat so last time we floated through here we called it the river boil because there was almost nowhere to fish it was way too boily we really couldn't get a lot of a lot of good casters good parts of the holes because it's just moving too fast so today is perfect oh my God the rivers and shuts good shape is it unreal or what there's going to be some holes we could roll into and just double triple fish fish dude that's a fish [Music] that's where Phil's went under right fish [Applause] got it on on the Chesty got it on the chassis everybody we hooked the fish we got a fish on the freaking reeling thing chased chased it down oh my god brother [Applause] hold this please hold this in there I'm gonna go up we're gonna stay in the river [Music] oh God it's going nuts it's going nuts oh my God oh he ain't done he ain't done dude this is the real deal real deal it's a big fish I think it's all as big as that one yesterday dude have you seen it yet standing up I've seen it it's it's big it's a good 16 17 pound fish at least oh on The Reeling he was reeling his feet in I thought way before cranks yeah at least yeah one two three four five like a plug takedown been there done that oh God oh God oh God oh God better grab the net you gotta trick these fish they're smarter than us they're smarter than us and they know it and then right when he gets here just oh he's not he ain't oh god oh it's a big fish it's a really big fish it's huge and it's just like the most beautiful red color you've ever seen in your life oh God I'm nervous I'm nervous this has been a long fight oh that's a good fish it's a good fish oh God oh God come on baby come on him yeah buddy good job man look at that look at that red stripe oh yeah first fish in the boat feeling pretty good about life right now brother the second fish we ever caught together and it was a big one I'm loving it I cannot wait for the rest of this club this might be a really good day I don't know but even if that's the only fish we taught all day that was pretty special I haven't seen a fish that pretty in a long long time so let's get back on the oars let's get down here yeah back in puff action back in puff Town got bit the First cast oh nope nope hold on oh my God he hit it again come back for it oh dude you can hammered it did you see my line I didn't know what to do that time I just kind of let it happen okay I know where he's at though here we go here we go super hot I got him I got him what is it it's a cutie oh I don't know what it is it's freaking out what is this oh my gosh yeah baby wow holy cripes look at this thing that is one of the prettiest fish I've seen in a long long time look at how cool this thing is what a beautiful trout I'm the Old Faithful blue spinner that was really cool everybody I'm gonna see if I can get another one he hit it on the First cast through there and then let it go and then he came through it instantly on the second cast as soon as I turned my camera on we got him [Applause] [Music] well that was 40 white water through there we're not done yet [Music] [Applause] anyway we made it through the zigzag alley I'll call that one that thing's just back and forth to back and forth and just you're just chopping away the whole way you just gotta Chop Chop that cord wood up there maybe we should call that one cordwood but it's been a really cool day so far one steelhead one rainbow it's still this is the Eternal year of Phil trying to catch fish oh he's had a he's had a tough year and so far I think I think today is going to be paid off in a big way he's paid his dues we've been fishing hard I totally screwed this really nice hole up extremely nice hole up sorry boys I'm talking to the camera look what I just messed up and I'm about to stink up that's the whole I messed up it's all because of you guys it's all your fault it's all your fault addict okay I'm gonna get back to rowing maybe not there's another big rapids we'll keep you in on this one [Music] all right emergency we just about lost all our rods coming through a little Rapids then we got a bigger one right here we're placing forward [Applause] [Applause] [Music] better than Disneyland rowdy goodness gracious dude I'm getting tired I need some garbage we're doing Health Stakes on the River today everybody so stick around for that lunch it could be so good I can't wait watch your Rod tips here but we're still yet to find the only real the whole hole that we fished like deep good pocket we caught a fish in so we're still on the search we've been fishing a lot of nice little pocket water and stuff but again I think we're gonna have to find some of those more transitional spots to keep the spots where the fish are going to hang out and rest a little bit so let's find it we should fish this on the way by yep I like it feel same thing yeah yeah [Music] we got a whole bunch of trees here so we'll go ahead and stand up he's right there go get out goes on the road I don't know what to do dude we got this huge rapid right below us oh dude he's kicking our patooki he's kicking our butt absolute Mayhem everybody we're trying to capture this we're trying to wrap White Water this is the most hectic hectic steelhead tripping it's a chromer we're not going to be able to net that from the boat I'm gonna have to hop out oh okay everyone we're in the water may not be the safest place but we're in it how's it feel dude this is Mayhem wowzers pure Mayhem people this way nice and low here it goes everyone super chroma on the Fly yep up and in nice dude nice one wow what a freaking struggle it's been all day let's get a good look at her wow look at her everyone just look at her what a cool fish wow good job philster there we go right there go up it's it's oh bye-bye heck yeah trying to get the picture gave a quick release oh dude yeah I'm gonna go team hell yeah brother yeah good job dude that was that was a rodeo guys I don't know we'll we'll keep the film on for this next hole down but that was fast pace we almost got sucked into this rapid and down into the next hole so what a rush okay I'm Babe Ruth and everybody called this hole as we came into it I've been dreaming about this one what the hell was that oh my God oh my God completely ripped with my worm down oh dude right now Chompy wompy oh my gosh okay here it goes again that hurt that hurt a little bit inside that was a fish man oh my you think oh it hurt okay I gotta get it in there again probably goes a little off on that one ladies and gentlemen that was freaking ridiculous that is my luck here today and on this River I'm Really Gonna feel good about getting a fish here when it finally happens I don't want to rush it I don't want to make anything happen out of due time and due process you know but that hurts that was my real first bobber down of the day so I mean it's not as real as it gets so that hurt that hurt down inside okay all we can do is keep trying [Applause] [Music] oh my God okay everybody here Phil Phil oh it's a good one so guys I just turned the camera off he goes through there he goes through there with his beat very next cast colder cast in that thing goes down drains sets the hook hooks the fish my heart breaks my bobber goes in right behind him about three feet goes down same fish hooked it fish on we got him look at that thing wow oh that feels good that feels good nice what just happened guys 100 I don't know his look bigger but that one looked way bigger when it when it first Bit Too Am I Wrong [Applause] yes everybody my very first one on this river that took a lot of trying and a lot of hard work but there she is yeah wow just a perfect little steelhead oh thank you little sweetie do with that see you later [Applause] praise God man what a day good job kids okay everybody we've reached the waterfall let's go down and check it out last time I came through here I actually ran this this time I'm not sure if I'm going to or not water is a little bit lower but I'm gonna just get down here take a quick look at what we're working with maybe we'll just rope the boat down I don't know yet hello everybody pretty freaky I don't know there's been a lot of things going wrong today even as we pulled up to go around this rapid oh our rocks got hung up in a tree and yank out of the boat again for the second time so I don't know if it's smart to go around the rapid just with how things have been going I think what we're gonna do I got some rope here I'm gonna rope the boat to here re-tie to this other rope and let it go from here and make it down around the corner there so let's see it's gonna be very interesting I'm gonna put a life jacket on just make sure we're safe but all right where I was gonna go okay I got one rope hooked up going one way so we can lower it down to a Midway point at the base of the tree and then from there we're gonna double rope double the Rope up so it doesn't snap then we're gonna send the raft over the waterfall also fingers May hope it makes it to where we really want it to go so let's get this thing underway I don't think it's going to be that incredibly hard we've got to really manage our spot really manage what we're going to do here and stick around it's gonna be really neat I don't know what's going to happen but anyway I ran this recently and this time I just don't feel comfortable so we have the Rope we have three guys we're gonna do our best to actually send this boat down without us in it kind of controlling it with the rubber to go through we'll go through that here double contact here you don't want just one form of security on this so okay I should do it okay so here's the plan let's just go rock by Rock around these off just send them down get everything secured a lot of tool is on the reopen each time Bill you might as well just film okay keep trying to build okay everybody here it goes thank you and I'm just going to send it all right that worked really well everyone super well this is gonna be the leap of faith everyone I'm doing it I'm doing it got it [Music] foreign made it everybody we made it mission accomplished 2 30 now it took up a lot of time doing that running it was much easier much more time efficient but I'm gonna go grab the rods skip this show on the road she just about fooled me she's just about Phil grab the boat oh God he's leaving he's leaving dude I'm not gonna do anything did you just see that did you just see that grab that GoPro please grab this GoPro please just click the button on Top This Guy's this fish is unbelievably big I don't know if we saw that first run I only got the GoPro on right when I hooked it we just lost one on a beat I was munching out hard I was eating some gardettos and I just hooked this fish it went about I don't know 70 yards down river full on run and it's huge it's absolutely monstrous guys that hit it so incredibly hard and ran so far down river he's gonna stay right the boat brother oh my God just yank the boat up I don't know this but we might have to chase it guys I'm not joking this fish is huge I cleared about five foot out of the water there guys he's way down there hold on yeah we gotta go jump on the door get on the horse let's go let's go hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry get the boat off the bag come on let's go go you've got two rods on the bank dude go grab them little Laura hurry get in the boat oh god dude I'm out of line let's go that's just a huge fish pardon my English this is a freaking huge fish I am spools right now I'm all the way down to my backing I would just start pushing did you forget anything snacks in the water roll the back up there God damn it bill I need your help oh God I'm so close to schools I'm not joking it's it's that big it's that big all right cool probably close to biggest ever we are back I'm sad we had to leave that hole but we had to chase this monster I saw it jump and fly out of the water right here in the tail out and ever since he had me spoiled twice as it was time to just chase him just look at him he's got an entire spool line down there we're gonna have to get him in like the next hole look at him keep pushing keep pushing just chasing he's down there he's gonna go Aim so be ready okay back bro back row yep that's good that we're gonna get him there we can keep him in this boil I haven't seen him again yeah we're screwed to be taking this down now huh we got another huge waterfall right below here there's two Falls in a row I'm gonna hop up on this rock you guys as soon as we hit it and Phil you're good right there maybe toss that anchor out oh please stay here please stay here please stay here dude he's running he's running we might have to go get me down to the bottom of the falls you'll be down and I'll run around I'll run around the Falls he's going down he's going down I don't know what to do here attic I think I could get I think I can get down if he goes down the Falls I'll be able to run down that bank and we could have the boat beats right here how hard not that I remember but if anything I'll just chase them on foot but what if we lose them again I don't know maybe I'll just keep it's not big I think he's really that big I'm freaking out here Alex please stay here oh man please buddy yeah I'm gonna tuck our ass in and we'll get stuck right here perfectly dude he's just going right back down again he's going over he's going over take me down [Music] he's going down I would just pull hard left the whole way chip to the right nose to the left gonna want to hit the bottom with a little speed I'll turn this Lane and start pushing we're all right we're all right good job brother good job well try to run a waterfall with this fish on foreign oh my God just chasing him dude I'm freaking out right now he's right here yep yep hold on hold on nobody do anything crazy oh my gosh yep I think if we do this right here we might get him let's see let's see we just keep taking him oh my God it's gonna be really hard to land him right here so be ready oh my god dude you're not gonna be able to land him here boys we're not we're not pop back in we gotta get somewhere softer there's no way we're getting them in a landing net right here good job guys good job everybody this is taking three men to do and film absolutely insanity I have I'm at a loss for words this fish is over 20 pounds this has just been an insane fight so much going on we're over probably a quarter mile at least Down River from where we hooked him oh my God oh my God we're just gonna have to walk the dog I don't know what else to do oh my God the dinosaur what there's nothing else no we gotta walk him down somebody we gotta just walk him down to wherever we have some soft water oh my gosh look at it point the camera at it point the camera at it oh my God oh my God it's right there we can't touch it it's right there we can't touch it oh my God what are we gonna do what are we gonna do what are we gonna do can I tail him from the boat I don't have him he's gone okay okay uh he's been cut I touched him I touched him yeah I tell them from the middle of the river in the raft yeah I can maybe reach over and get him in the net as we're floating yes okay yep let's do that very slow I'll put him in the net you just lay them out there okay oh my gosh oh my god get ready another way dude other way [Music] [Music] nice job we got him Phil thank you yeah oh my gosh oh my God we did it we're on the bank with this beat oh my God laughs whoa baby oh my God oh my God what is that dude that's all I'm 20 man yikes that was insane good job man teamwork that fish took us over a mile down river through I don't even know it was all it was a constant rapid we couldn't we couldn't absolutely could not get to the bank anywhere anywhere we could land something this big either oh my God what an incredible creature he is a beast I gotta say goodbye look at the fish okay everybody bye-bye yeah praise God man brother what a drink yeah for being here we got the pictures everybody yeah we landed him twice both in hostile environments brother what a day oh my gosh wow boys that was an awesome effort all around wow and look at the photo everybody it did it justice that's the one right there [Music] oh God oh my God we just pulled into the next hole down after releasing that fish and Phil's got a giant on we gotta get to the bank I think we can keep him here see if we can double dude get your in there we can double I'm gonna get out an acre I'm gonna anchor in The Landing fish refill wow what a spunky fish dude this thing has Charisma oh oh my God what is going on here everyone what is going on what is up we are in Paradise right now yep yep oh my God this is a nice fish nope she ain't done oh well we got proof sorry I should have scooped I should have scooped him dude that's just as good huh nice job dude we got to see it all happen oh man on the Fly very next hole fish on Yeehaw well ladies and gentlemen that was one of the most incredible steelhead experiences I've had in my entire life with my new friend Coulter and my best friend Phil that we'll never forget that story and I'm so glad we got to share it with everybody I kind of summed up today so much work so much wetness and scary things going on and and fighting for fish and hoping for the best and not knowing really where we're at none of us have fished up here before and if we decided to all just jump into this together for the second run of this crazy river and it paid off in a big way it's getting dark already it's about five o'clock and we still have quite a ways to go so we're gonna blast through the next few holes if you guys want to see the
