Ep11 STRIPPING Her Back! PAINTING our NARROWBOAT Part 1

what a shock to the system this morning's read my cortisol that skyrocketed it feels like we're rapping about what we feel drilling bits are pulls of the grind out I touched it once and then it broke I'm Joe and he's Vic together we've been navigating the English canals with our trusty canoe and to narrow boats one of them is our home and the other we're turning into a traveling car shop on the water subscribe and come along for the ride good morning wow this is a puffy face good morning and our first day in the page head you can see that it's checking it down outside are you ready yeah this is perfect timing because you look out the window anything family there's a shed over the boat and then you think yes there is yeah people are actually waiting for us today Steve who's a but painter he was just to get him it's a major touch and Paul who fits out boats and also does other stuff like that I'm Terry yeah who's a great sign right so we see her work like up and down the canal and in this boat yeah right and it's amazing yeah it's genius so she's gonna she's gonna win it's just gonna bring such a life to the outside of the boat that we would not have been able to get without them it's very wet and windy up here heading down to the Steven [Laughter] [Music] yeah that goes to it still one nicely let me get it out of the controller as you can see and here it's all going up already my cortisol my little bit skyrocket it but now yeah I've got everything in here those guys are taking off the solar panel up there and then everything will come off at the windows will come out the sky like these Houdini hatches and they'll come out what a shock to the system this morning to speed right so it's gonna clear this bit we've got all spiders nothing in there and I'm gonna take this over to the bins then this bishop in area at the moment Vic's talking to Paul about welding a lot gas Walker that's how quickly these things I skim it we've been in here for about an hour [Music] [Music] bloody bubblegum this is this is what we needed with this some real progress happening now we're changing the boat completely and those two apart from being two of the nicest traps we're gonna meet I know how they're doing to make the change [Music] now that's just sit alone Tyler he's been with us ever since the beginning getting involved whatsoever but yeah so basically what they're doing now is I'm taking all the pets whatever parents on they're taking it off Paul you can see with the angle grinder he's taking off any sort of bits of metal from the roof that we don't need there was some little bits sticking up and Steve has started I want to say scrambling scrambling to it basically it's dripping all the paint off the roof with some kind of really loud tool and I think it's trying to get in on that action now [Music] just to fill you in and I wanted to have a go at the scramblin whatever it is that Vic was doing on the roof and he literally just handed me the tool I touched it once and then it broke so the guys have just spent the last sort of half an hour hashing together a new tool it's not like you're ready to go I might just hide in here let's go see the mood everyone's in I think everyone's delighted with me I just tooth left for lunch now [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] and day one paint shed are you feeling pretty blasted but it's great isn't it look at this oh look at how different it looks this was all done with that sky blur what does that mean looking thing there which is basically like a big disc with teeth on it looks like an alien's mouth or something no I'm just world's round and just nails pain it's quite incredible that somebody's actually invented that because that's like the kind of tool that you would fantasize about as you were hand sanding all that paint I could just put on with that I wish I just had a massive like paint eating disc that I could just scab all about the place it reminds me a bit a robot was the sky blur this would be the second robot in robot wars the needle gun Jimmy it basically just fires these out so these are all just dancing about all over the place madly and they didn't seem they're just pound paint up what did you use those but those are that's really good for any bits like here in that corner because all those needles just go skittering about let's see now all the paint off like you can kind of see here where have you seen it's done it you can even see the little pock marks so why isn't taking it off they're probably any bit fair lifted more because of me dodo not doing a very thorough job rather than the answer I don't believe that are you ready for dinner yeah and then bed yeah I use muscles I never heard whoa dare to compete you prick dare to pop animations how are you feeling pretty snazzy yeah I think I've just realized I'm a millennial snowflake who doesn't know the boy started already we're gonna give them my men on a thing [Music] as you can probably hear it's very loud out there and it's very dusty across like harmony telecom rather [Music] I've been sleepin [Music] Oh just and make it so that now it's struggle back that they can polish it back is working on a template for that gas market over the same I'll show you I've got just awful [Music] why do we have to speak to each other in coats now like scuba dive aside [Music] we're gonna be taking all these windows out boss sighs the Houdini hatch so I'm going to go around with this brown paper and some masking tape and and I'm gonna masking tape all up the inside so that all the dust doesn't come in so that my job I'm sorry no rest here no one no one just tops for a coffee and a cake you know [Music] [Music] [Laughter] you might whilst it's quiet I'll just tell you a bit of what we've been doing so the windows and started to come out and tips on these that saw the dusters that come in windows are down there they came out pretty easy in the end it's just that all that gunk will need to get off there I think that might be one of my jobs Victor coming in how you doing yeah good yeah quite a nice ambiance yeah what do you think you'll be doing this afternoon I'm gonna help Oh take this window out and then I'm polishing the roof which just sort of gets rid of all the excess paint and stuff found out that the sky blue or scrambler mist and then might start stabbing the sides if I'm lucky [Music] but let's pass up money [Music] [Music] there we go it's weird seeing it like this isn't it yeah it's Sunday today so we've sneaked in here just to get a tiny bit ahead that's again surprisingly an actor in all this so tiring look at how raw the metal looks [Music] she came out on stage like on some bits on the roof you can see the numbers like sort of inscribed on the sheet steel and you also uncover things like this like that's where the chimney wanting needs to be yeah the chimneys been moved about later this happens another one air that's a bit of like inscription right we haven't even done anything yet just touched the boat already filthy you come out looking like a chimney sweep or something that nobody would think you're painting about the state you come out of it painted in at this bit these are the mushroom vents that should be a good before and after now we've we've taken it back just to complete steel it feels like we're wrecking the boat we've been drilling bits off pulls out the grind out and that just been chopping bits off the boat and stuff I'm glad quiet please I'm glad we've got these guys on board because I would be so nervous by this if it this feels like we're if this is responsibility like we're being completely responsible now for how the boat is gonna look for there for the next decades we drive as a as a living poignant this lads coming up [Music] that based pretty heavy [Music] [Music] and then what else was it that we had to do over pretty much and just look at my fairies to do who goes there one who's jumping variety [Music] it's gotta clear out the weed hatch it's not so bad this time usually it's my least favorite boat job you have to get your hand right in [Music] what can you feel with greed I've heard it called mermaid's hair if this is my mates hair I can't understand the stories about sailors being lured to the rocks for these games and it stinks it stinks there's tons of it oh god that has sting oh it's not it's a rarity five I would obviously help and go down and get there and get some weeds but I'm afraid of wash my hands already but clenches good for your internal organs between that position Petula crazy mystical things I read somewhere that this is the number one cause of boat sinking and when our boat sinking anyways the we touch being faulty or being not on correctly sir mind viewer you're a better even better if you're getting a boat bill I've asked for an integral one which is just it's also you would open this hatch over it bolts and the whole thing is just then just a tube down so then you just thought you might like to see how funny Joe looks it's five four o'clock in the afternoon I'm ready for that but we're about to move the bar to the other side of the boat yard and there's a grilling gray sky looming I've ever seen before we're all gonna get wet let's go [Music] now we're even closer to the paint said pretty breezy thanks for watching
