didn't pick my army today what's going on there no neither did i yeah who would have the audacity to pick our armies for us it's ridiculous it is and we love it because it's our patrons oh yeah we stuff absolutely let's not muck around mate let's see those lists get right into it we are we're going to eat them man gold boys got nothing so we're starting with a single battalion and we are taking a successor chapter so we're taking born heroes and whirlwind of rage this has been used quite extensively throughout the competitive scene and uh it's something that i want to try so we'll be getting a plus one to hit just as normal space wools but we'll also be getting in um in melee exploding sixes and this doubles with savage fury so when we're in the assault doctrine we'll be getting double exploding sixes and anything in combat so yay to space wolves so to begin the battalion we have in our first hq slot a librarian the librarian i've given the relic of the wolfenstone and he is going to be running alongside some um blood clots that's it blood clots in a drop pod so we'll get to that later when we get into the next part of the list second hq choice is a wolf lord on thunder wool it's awesome uh made him chapter master i've also given him two hollow traits so imperium sword for the extra strength and attacks on the charge and um the wolfkin for extra attacks for so d3 attacks that count as shock assault on top of that i've also given the relic um armor of russ to leverage not only the extra durability of a two-up save but that fights fights last um he's going to be running alongside thunder wolf cav which we'll get later on um so hopefully that can be a either nice alpha strike or a good contingency against the tough custodies in the troop slots very very basic very simple we have three units of blood claws just standards just bolt pistols and chainsaws we have one unit of nine uh and the reason why that is nine is because as i said the librarian is going to run in a drop pod with them and then two units of 10. for elites we have two elites choices one is wolfgard terminators sergeant has thunder thunder hammer and storm shield one other has thunder hammond storm shield and the remaining three have dual lightning claws the second elite's choice is wolfen bit of contentious with this a lot of people don't reckon they're good they're too expensive and look special players out there tell me you're telling me if eliza's trash this is like the fourth time i've played space wolves so on paper i think they're pretty good if i can get them in they will mince um so two of them have frost claws two of them have thunder hammers and storage shield and one has the great axe in the faster track choices we've got some pretty weird janky ones well one janky unit really so we just got two units sorry one unit of two landspeeder tornadoes so i'm not really running any shootie stuff compared to the last time i ran the space walls uh so but i do need something to potentially punch through bikes or take some wounds off the uh of the dreadnoughts that uh that dalton is bringing and having the the availability of fast moving getting scoring oath um on top of that the the fact that we can have four crack missile shots just firing out whenever we want to and then yielding around the board it's gonna be good the second fast attack choice is a unit of thunder wolf cav and they all have thunder hammers and storm shields so this would be a big alpha strike unit as i said earlier running with the warlord so hopefully we can just mince really leverage that plus one uh leveraging that double exploding it's gonna be great in the heavy support choice we have one unit of long fangs all with multi melters this is gonna go in the second job drop pod that i have and this is just purely to one test it out because one of our lovely uh youtube comments was hey run drop pods run blood colors and then also out at the tournament that we were at a couple weeks ago uh this tactic was used against me um never been done before it's very common that the uh drop pods and devastators but with long fangs being able to give them a remaining stationery ignoring that negative one hit it's potentially really really advantageous here too to get through the toughness of the custodies so finally in the dedicated transport slot as i've said previously is just two drop pods with storm bolters i've never used them before it's gonna be fun oh it's gonna be cool they're really iconic they're really great uh we're gonna smash it we're gonna kill these golden boys have some bananas for breakfast let's see dalton's list all right turns out the inquisition are busy so we're going to have to put these boastful brackets in the ground ourselves to do that i've brought 1999 points of shadow keepers for access to that sweet negative one strength strap leading them in a patrol is a shield captain with the castellan axe in terminator armor he's running indomitable constitution and superior creation his walking tank nine wounds he's not going anywhere my second hq choice i've got a shield captain on jet bike he's got hurricane bolters and the eagle's eye that gives him a sweet throw-up involved to again just make him that much tougher to kill for troops i've taken three units of custodian guard they're all running sword and board for that sweet three up and vulnerable safe two units are three and one unit of four just because of points they're going to sit on objectives and tank everything on three of invulnerable saves for my elites choice i've got two contemporary killer dreadnoughts they've both got twin adratic destructors and one of them has the eternal penitent rule so they're just there to shoot stuff kill stuff and be next to instructable in fast attack two units of three vertice predators those sweet sexy jet blacks be flying across the board scoring points and killing whatever they touch one of them has misocordia again i just had the points for them and they're going to be awesome finally my heavy support it's a telemon i've got two arachnid storm cannons and the speculoos bolt launcher again it's theme of the list it's tough and it's going to shoot stuff and that sums up the list it's tough it's going to sit there not a lot of bodies but i can manage that i'm just going to roll hot roll three ups all day it's going to be simple so let's go see the mission deployment and get right into this game and beat the space wolves again [Music] [Music] let's do it yeah back again yeah the earth is looking pretty scorched already oh yeah it is yeah um so i wonder plymouth roll off i chose the far side there um yes and to deploy first so that's purely because you don't get a choice it's all the same thing yeah um primarily because i like the profiles and the obscuring stuff over there so i can hide behind them i can jump on objectives i like it it's good um so you're blessed by having ted like three models on the board the worst involvement sleeve i have is a four plus in the dreadnoughts yeah so speaking of which over on this side so again you've got a bunch of stuff in deep strike you've got drop pods all that i don't have enough models to screen you out of the entire board so all i've done is i've gone i'm going to build two castles and they're going to go for the objectives that's it so my castle over here on the right is going to be i've got the warlord down here terminator armor there along with a unit of custodian guard and one of the dreadnoughts this is the one that has the eternal penitent on it for that plus one attack and real charges and i've also got a unit bikes they're gonna push forward and control the side um and hopefully just do some work they're going to move positivity it's good um over on the other side of course is everything else the uh captain on bike another three jet bikes another three custodian guard and two dreadnoughts the telamon in response to his thunderwolf cab i just need some extra firepower over there as well as the other contemporary achilles i've also then got a unit of four custodian guard in deep strike just a bit of flexibility i they're slow so i want to be able to deep strike them in where i need them come turn two or three hopefully coming in clutch for uh secondaries and things later in the game um we have kind of more or less similarly held up entirely behind a steering where we can land speed is over here in far right uh they're they're fast they can zoom around where they want to ultimately they're probably just gonna move into the middle of the board and be my own potentially uh they die they die um we have one unit of blood clothing behind [Music] and then thunderbolt cav wolfen and the wolf lord are tucked in behind this looking to say scoop right over there so we have um so yeah the two drop pods obviously in the skies and one unit of long fangs is in that and then the other unit of blood claws with the librarian which is in the other one yep and your terminators are destroyed so that was i was actually wasn't sure on where to do that uh where to place them in deployment um we had a bit of a discussion about it before the game and it was the same same reason to put the custodies away is just having the flexibility because they're so slow oh man it's so slow it's crazy to playing faster armies like gk or knits or whatever and then just having a base five movement with sucks yeah so we'll see there might have been a bad choice not really sure yet but um it's it's interesting you've gone for oath given that all the objectives are on the sides um well i mean even if the landscape is stay alive or um glance moves over here even if they stay alive [Music] look it's probably not ideal like maybe it is it is better to play msu five-man players let me know uh if there's better ways we do this or just currently um what you change in what we have here so um i can string out objectives too and make you some dents typically on terrain the two bits in the middle here are created at a dense we're not including the difficult grounding dents that would only be the forest it'd be weird to have it on one thing and it's fine they can walk through it not a problem exactly yep um the four big pieces in each corner and then there's two big bits of ruins as well exactly so there's sort of three pieces along each side and then you've got these two smaller bits of ruins and some barricades around everything's scalable reachable et cetera and that's also for by covering everything so yeah it's kind of wysiwyg in a way yeah if something looks like you can get over it you can get over it essentially yeah so yeah that's that's the mission that's the deployment uh secondary so i've decided to take oath of moment stranglehold and bannons um i normally don't take banners because i don't play homies they're at work they do so you know try something new um like i said both is a pretty stable choice for points um when playing space range it's just a really good yep yep and then stranglehold is sexy so um you've got three and more yeah yes everything of yours is however i have you know 30 30 uh two room bodies and the shooting isn't super amazing it's not yeah um that might work my favorite so we'll see yep so i've taken to the last so both units of bikes and the telamon this was a hard one for me to decide on because there aren't any really good objectives for me in this case it was just the the least bad option i've also then taken stranglehold for the same reason all my stuff is obsec there's six objectives hopefully i can just sit on four of them and just claim that every turn and then i have also taken banners there's a big toss-up between banners and deploy teleport homers because i could potentially deep strike on your backlines with a unit of guard and just action for three terms netting 12 points or more the problem with that is that i'm then eliminating an entire unit every turn in order to score that yeah um which i just thought i don't have the units the two expenses i don't have enough units to do that comfortably so i went with banners because i can do it on those back too and just score two points every turn and more or less just match you on it yeah that's more of a end of the day we come out of it if we both score the same thing as neither of the scoreboards so yeah that's that's that will now but one thing i'll also mention as well if you are a custodian's player give me some tips jump in the comments jump into discord and tell me how to play because this is my third game with custodians yes so we as i'm sure you guys are well aware there i've started painting some custodies and i'm definitely going hard on the new book yeah um but still i need to learn them give me some tips good stuff that's it let's get into first first turn let's do it nice good stuff all right oh alrighty it is going to the space wolves good luck good game let's go let's get into it let's get into it okay space wolves movement is done you're all up in the face yeah yeah yeah it's uh look i like playing uh aggressive i feel like i like playing competitively i mean that too but aggressively aggressively aggressively competitive that's it sounds like something really bad anyway our meeting is great we'll see if it's the smartest choice uh i probably could have held a few things back but hey last whatever i mean you never choice when it came to the wolf and stuff there no we'll get to that in a second so uh this first unit of blood claws has uh just moved on to the objective entirely covering it and banners bananas this universe has moved out and also bananas um the unit of wolfen got a decent advantage they got a five yep so move up and now they're holding that objective look um they potentially might die next turn because there's only two storm shields and they are quite squishy um having said that there's a few other plans of stuff that's happening elsewhere that if it goes off they should be pretty well covered the thunderwolf cav rolled a three on the advance just pushing through and the wolf lord only rolled a one which was a two spend a cp got a one very nice that's what we do yep and start the rolls the drop pod first of two drop pods has dropped down right in the middle of the board um and the blood clots and librarian have gotten out yep um i'm looking to get a charge off onto the uh near left objective into that telemodel yep um look we're not gonna kill the teleman but uh what it is gonna do is tie it up yep i'll get the objective for one uh and then force him to make some uh difficult choices on spending resources to kill him essentially uh which is resources that aren't being used to do with this so again if it goes off uh stratagem is going to be come and play to stop that but we'll adjust that later cool and then finally well not finally sorry second finally in the near center table um the long fangs have dropped out of the second drop pod tripods are cool man drop pods are so cool they just look sick look at it they just dropped them down the workplace that's awesome so those four melters are lining up the bikes and or the achilles dread knob they're very plasmary look at melters yes so i didn't say that in my list that we are um uh what's the word proxy there you go uh i was like what looks closer lads cannon or plasmacan i'm like yeah that looks pretty close yeah therefore melted yep and then finally on uh the far right hand side we just have the two um landspeeder tornadoes that are very cool also very cool and no one uses them but they're cool 100 lining up those bikes so they're going to be taking all those shots into those bikes um that's it that's it so uh we we're doing good on secondary scoring already we'll get stranglehold we'll get uh two banners two banners up um it will just depend on uh how well and we'll get some points on oath and if we can maybe pop out some vehicles we'll do better so we're just gonna go straight into psychic phase let's do it yeah so um chief librarian um i'm trying to think of a quick name chief librarian not librarian because there's space rules in there and priests he's just room priest jeff yep room priest jeff is gonna cast so he knows three powers you know storm caller he knows instinct awoken and he knows murderous hurricane um he's going to cast stormcaller on the blood claws which will make them count as being in my cover very cool so giving them that two up save if they do make the charge we'll help not by much but it will help um what do we need six go for it six six there you go seven very nice and then we will be casting instincts awoken from him over here onto the um thunder wolf cab so probably saying why why would you do that so if this fails this group of stuff is hitting me here 100 that that i'm eyeing up those wolves because they need to die before they charge me so this power will enable my thunder wolf cav to be in the assault doctrine which means in their punch back they will be getting double exploding sixes yeah so uh yeah that's just what we're doing and again it's a six nothing five so we are seeing that yeah good stuff cool i love it so i'm down to nine cp now uh eight got your nine nine nine and yeah so that was successful that's good we'll be back in all right multi-melters are gonna shoot um they're gonna shoot the bikes yep so that's eight shots uh i am spending one cp on keen sensors here to negate uh the negative one for disembarking and moving with the drop on so the drop pod when you disembark counts as moving so um they will ignore all ballistic modifiers and we play this sorry we i played this incorrectly last time uh so it just essentially removes any kind of modifier whatsoever so that is including dents yep um so these will always just be hitting on threes cool um yeah let's do it well like that that's trash i will see p1 you've already seen that face yeah it doesn't matter too i'll roll another two lucky back with a vengeance oh yeah trash threes okay okay and uh fours same as one now i'm gonna skip one of these okay yep gotta take one so d6 yep hey for another five minutes all right um all right and then we've got to have well i don't even know if it's worth it but we're gonna do it because you just you never know um yep so i can't have a walk around the talon one it's gonna walk up that side instead yep um the bikes have jumped straight over the front they are eyeing up the wolfen for a charge and potentially thunder wolves for just putting some bolt shots into them just forcing as many saves on storm shields as i can fair enough the custodians down the back there have actions they're putting banana banners on the objective there bananas bananas bananas and telemon has popped wisdom of the ancients the blacks have made sure they are within range of of that that's 16 jorah yeah absolutely because it's still an aura in the old book so he himself and the blacks will be rerolling roles of one to hit yep cool over on this side of the board these custodians have also bananas banana ring on the objective here the warlord iron up your long things and go on i'm having you he's going straight over there into them yeah that's going to be an interesting engagement it's interesting because we're going to overwatch and we're going gonna hopefully get like two hits he's got nine wounds he's two hits then he's gonna fail two and then we're gonna roll two sixes and he's gonna die he's fine we're free up involved um the dreadnought has moved around here as well needing a i believe a six to them yeah and then there's a three from this bike to them and he's also on subjective here so at the moment i've currently got four objectives for stranglehold he's more of a backup if the dreadnought fails to charge in then i can charge him in uh and if they die then he can solo it back on subjective yep but even if he doesn't i've still got stranglehold for this turn and i'm just scoring those points yep that's it yeah so uh that's pretty much movement um i already mentioned about wisdom of the ancients on the telemon so we'll be right back in shooting when i can try and put some hurt back on uh back on spaceballs time to pull the trigger on all these wolves all right let's do it yeah i'm just going to start with the dice i've counted out these three vertices over here going straight into the wolfen so we had a bit of a debate about this uh off camera whether or not it was going to be into the wolfen or the thunder wolves um and i would charge the wolfen but given the wolf and have a fight on death and it's still only a six inch charge for thunderballs the wolf and all day i'd rather shoot at the wolf and charge the thunderballs yep fair enough so uh into the wolfen hitting on two go go go go go re-rolling ones because of the telemon which is very nice oh yeah especially when you roll like you oh yeah all right cool pull those to one side yep kick on twos all right so just one out of all that so we're t5 uh all right so i'm going to be wounding you on fives thank you man cool there's so many darcy dice oh yeah all right fives faster wounds that's that's all right so pulling out the failures here cocktail there another five cool wow man that's crazy good i wish i could roll like that yeah so there's no ap there's just hurricane bolters but you've got the storm shields there so even if they had ap you'll be taking on them so just forcing saves yeah they're two wins a piece i think so yep so on first on shield yep threes yep yep you take that away second one one more time good another one yep dead that's one storm shield down next storm shield takes a wound god damn all right and dies and then the rest of them are normal saves on fours fours another one dies and one's on one wound cool all right so then the i'll do the hurricane bolters from the uh warlord i should look for the world from the bike captain into the wolfen as well yes so it's another 12 shots we're getting on twos no no reals this time and then going to be wounding on fives again yep wow that's better that's how people should roll and they look that could still kill them wait i've just entered them as well yep uh so fours okay and if you roll you fail this one all right you're good all right i'll see p1 actually yeah okay cool so is the one that was on a wound days yep easy now the contemporary achilles dreadnought back there is going to fire its it's got a dread spear and a twin a draftic destructor i'm gonna fire the twinner draftic destructor and the dreadspear into thunder wolves yep so assault two with the twin address structure nice heading on twos very cool uh strength five so forced wound uh yep t5 good uh minus three and three damage uh so minus three two five so on fours cool so that we'll kill one of them so we've got four wins each year yeah cool uh all right and then the achilles dread spear is a heavy two so again twos both hit and then threes strength eight all right one they're not one shot uh heavy two oh right three two one minus two one wound at minus two so three ups again uh yes threes cool yay no uh we're doing it fam rollin saves i'm gonna go over to the telemon the mighty telling one who's got a bunch of stuff to shoot so he's got the specular spot launcher and the arachnus storm cannon two of them so i'm going to put the specialist bolt launcher into the unit of 10 blood claws yes for your 10 shots 310 shots and you go on the anti-tank shots i'm thinking that's because just one one type and then the two arachnus storm cannons i'm tempted to put them into the thunderballs yeah um strength eight minus four three damage there's only four shots with them though so i might instead go for the i might just go for the burst variant because it's still minus two and one damage i want to kill that wolfen so one at one of them on the burst profile into the wolfen one of them on the heavy profile and thunder wolves then the 10 shots from speaking spot launcher into the blood claws splitting fire all over the place can you can you switch profiles well they're different weapons so so as in there's two separate storm cameras they're not twin storm cannons they're two separate strong so that so so one the anti-tank shot is going into him into the uh nope into the thunder wolves and then the uh anti-infantry into the into the wolf and yeah and then the speculative spot launcher into the blood cloth okay cool so i'll start with the bolt launcher getting on twos yes bring on the one yes very nice now its strength is five so threes to wound yes very good very good okay and then minus one minus one and one damage so back to my threes because our two's from thick so it kills the one that was wounded and another one oh guys cool that's all right then i'll do the two heavy shots into the thunder wolf thing on twos very nice uh weeding on threes oh that's not great yay um yeah are any of them wounded currently no all right i'm not going to bother you rolling into the wolfen twos yeah there we go and we're going on threes there we go so four of them at minus uh where are we minus two sixes let's do it look you tried but uh not not hard enough yeah cool all right so that's my shooting from this yeah but essentially after you charge whether or not you have something to make attacks into or not you still go through all three distinct steps of the fight phase yeah pile in you make your attacks insert nothing into nothing and then you consolidate so it's weird because if you read it straight out of the way there's commas everywhere implying that this happens then this happens yeah and this happens therefore if step two doesn't happen you do not progress the step three there's a better grammatical argument for why the way loki was saying it the way i used to say it was correct but the correct way as it's played is you get to make all the steps and in future and unless g dubs specifically faq using this we will forever play it that you will get that entire process yes yeah so coming uh dreadnought together objective so that you've got to decide where you're pulling models from cool so i've got different book four attacks uh with vertis pareto hitting on twos very nice and they're you pulling from because it may matter if you interrupt um i will pull them from there with a coherency now as well yeah i know i know i don't want to pull it from here because it gives you movement getting attacks that are going to do literally nothing onto the one so then that will go he can't move away from the dreadnought remember no he's so he's moving along his base along the base there's a thunderwolf cav right up and have the woven stay behind the obscuring the bikes come forward even if they get minced yeah the wolfen can then wolf another counter charge they're the scarier one into more points yep ending on 33 i turned five making it 43 because painted yep i would have max primary 10 for um 10 to the last 12 for banners sorry 12 40. stranglehold that's the one and then another six for banners ending with uh 83 by the end so it's a 40 point different deficit yeah yeah which is still huge it's massive and like you know it's again middle of the game it seemed like things were going well it's just like losing all my heavy hitters yeah it's just like everything just crumbles and you know not rot when you just roll ones and twos all the time i mean i mean i knew i had to
