[Ep. 15/15-16] Inside The NBA (on TNT) Full Episode – Barkley Destroys Suns/Warriors visit Obama

in life coming up shortly it's inside the NBA presented by KIA four games on the schedule tonight we'll have highlights obviously of all four um fill you in on the the guys who are going to be competing on State Farm All-Star Saturday night shacked in a fool and of course we'll be talking about the All-Star party of Kenny The Jet Smith yes we got some moves right those are some moves which on a four game night around the NBA Ernie Johnson Shaquille O'Neal Kenny The Jet Smith and Charles Barkley turned out to be a pretty entertaining double header uh put all said and done all said and done very entertaining yeah very competitive as it came down to it first game didn't look like it was going to be that way did it chuckster no it didn't but you had four ugly girls going against each other's Uncle girl was going to win at some point that that first game was the Knicks at the Palace of Auburn Hills and if you'll recall at halftime which was dreadful for New York we kind of we we kind of made fun didn't we kids yeah y'all made me do this premature but I did it come on the Knicks were playing like the Washington generals Vic shooting 28 percent in the first half and trailed by as many as 27. matter of fact the Washington generals were insulted that I've compared the Knicks to them in the first half General said oh General said we would have been up by 20 by this point anyway so so uh Stanley Johnson got getting the start for Detroit for continuous finest you're 19 years old this kid came out till he dies where's he from Kenny Oh California baby L.A and then ice defense yeah pistols beat the Knicks down the floor in the waning seconds of the first half 60-36 okay Big Goal at the half Andre from the missus big penguin the All-Star gun contest you get that name from Ernie big pain I don't know where it came from but that's that's his nickname but the Knicks would shoot 71 in the third quarter and get back into this game I saw Robin Lopez you see Aaron and then moments later what does porzingis do to Andre Drummond tell me the very same thing show me ah oh right back at you I'll tell you what I like for example uh poor singers um Langston Galloway had 17 points 12 of those in the fourth quarter as the Knicks were Relentless in getting back in this game Galloway played great he did he hit big shots of stepped up it was relentless on the defensive end and the offensive end two foot on the line tied at 95. foreign but it wouldn't last three pointers down the stretch distance Anthony Toliver his only shot and only of the game and then Reggie Jackson did a couple of big threes in the final minute and this would put it away for the Pistons oh here comes the clutch good B better offense and a sign over there to Reggie Miller Courtside from Reggie Jackson one Reggie to another 111 to 105. the Pistons do win it and it's six straight road losses for the Knicks 111 105 the final the 11th win for the Pistons by six points for fewer this season Reggie Jackson 21 Point night and he talked to Craig Sager after the game all right thanks a lot of E.J the Detroit Pistons led a 27-point lead disappear against the New York Knicks they needed a couple of clutch three-pointers By Reggie Jackson to pull it out at the end I'm sorry but a water shower from All-Star Andre Drummond obviously this is an important game for you guys to win after blowing that lead yeah definitely we came out the way we wanted to we set the defensive tone but um you know New York we know they fight they battle they got an All-Star mellow who's been doing a long time can get it going lafollow also knows his game they just knew basketball and they really made us pay and got to the line in third so we had to try to find a way to get a win anyhow when you're hitting those clutch threes and the crowds yelling Reggie Reggie Reggie I kind of had visions of Reggie Miller announced on the sidelines did you look over and talk to him at all oh definitely I think after I hit uh the second three I looked at him definitely let him know game was over so I had to close out my teammates were relying upon me they told me to go out there be myself and just happy I can come through for him what does this game mean and how important is it for you to guys to get momentum and make a playoff run here in the second half it's big we dropped some ones that we wanted uh this past week definitely felt like we could have got a few more separate ourselves in this playoff race the East is getting hectic getting crazy feels like everybody's just right there so we want to get some separation move up in the standings get a little comfortability but uh we definitely need this bounce back win and we need to take this momentum into the next game you hit some clutch shots when you were local in the city but yet you didn't get a lot of playing time you wanted the opportunity to hear to get here you got it you took advantage of it you got a good paycheck how important was it wasn't me not to be a piston uh it means the world to me I'm loving it loving my Rook here loving my team the opportunity to lead these guys each and every day and uh just try to get better we're trying to change the city around change the organization around give back to being accustomed to winning and I'm just loving every opportunity I'm very blessed God's blessed me with this opportunity I just want to make the most of it and your rookie Stanley Johnson did a great job tonight you play for number back to you EJ all right all right thanks segs and thanks reg hey Stanley Johnson at 22 to lead Detroit to that 111 to 105 win and uh to see the difference between the first and the second halves in Detroit able to uh hold on and then after giving up that lead put it away they're now 27 and 24. any doubt in your mind Chuck that they're going to go to the playoffs uh these they're eight right now uh it's gonna go it's going to go down to the wire who's going to catch him well I don't see the Charlotte is it a Washington you know well all those teams are right together obviously unless like uh the Pistons probably are the best equipped uh you know because the Knicks are fading uh Charlotte has had so many injuries that's really hampered them but they've but even they've gotten back close to the 500 Mark here in the last couple but I'm saying all these teams if somebody get on a hot streak or somebody get an injury can you trade Chuck that's going to be it over this over there All-Star break there's going to be one of those teams like the 20th the 17th I think deadline yeah so I think some teams are going to make a trade you know you know they got the buzz going on about the Celtics might go out and get the white Howard I think somebody in the Eastern Conference because the only team you got to beat is Cleveland and I think all those other teams are kind of jumbled together so I do agree with Kenny I think if somebody made a trade it'd be interesting in East any take away from that game for New York when you are embarrassed in the first half but then you respond to Derek Fisher at halftime you make this competitive you do take a lead is there ever a takeaway from a game that started that badly that can be a positive Kenny well because it's a 82 Game season you take away every night I I really believe that I think the one thing that you look at with New York is they're they're inconsistent and to me today was a what they do they're they're so inconsistent that that's why you know as Charles said it earlier he thought they were going to make the playoffs from day one because they have the talent to be in with a follow-back now healthy they have the talent to be in the uh in an h7c spot but they're too inconsistent um I'm not sure if Carmelo has ever been the prolific scorer that he has been in the Triangle offense I don't know if he can ever be that uh because of the style of play that he mentally wants to play I don't know if he can do it and be the prolific scorer in the Triangle first of all you gotta have energy you gotta have effort Reggie alluded to it in the first half they didn't get the loose balls they didn't get the second chance points on the rebounds in second half they had a little bit more energy they got into the game so just imagine if they came with that energy that effort for 48 be a better game they let a lot of games slip away but I do think Detroit is going to make the A spot you know Stan Van Gundy has a reliable battle tested system it's got to start to believe in the system a little more and I think they're going to you know start to get a grasp of how things you know I you know how he wants things to go and I think they're going to slide up a little bit maybe maybe one or two spots maybe Miami and Indiana just a little bit ahead of them right now but they're they're number eight and they let a lot of games slip away already the Knicks uh after being at the 500 Mark points in the third quarter and 17 of them came from Anthony Davis there's no way a Laker team Kobe had 38 the other night he's traveling traveling to be able to come in and do what he did tonight yeah we head to the fourth and Julius Randle and one I like this guy he might have been Walter Berry kid yeah that's a good call a little bit more athletic but I don't think Walterboro is more of a
