u/cut-it, this is the 2nd post I’ve randomly come across of yours that I’ve been very interested in. Lol. Keep up the good work.
Wow. Netflix offices are nice! I cut a Netflix original produced by Lionsgate and we were in a double-wide trailer north of Burbank where L.A. turns into the set of Mad Max. Lol.
He says 90% of assistant editors want to go on to become an editor, which isn't surprising, but would you be looked down upon if you just wanted to be an assistant editor? I personally feel like I'd enjoy it. I would take pride in keeping shit organized and enabling a colleague to create some great work. What kind of income and life can you expect in NY or LA working as an assistant editor?
The facility and equipment is great. And so is the set up. Wish the post facilities I frequent could evolve to this.
Has anyone taken the "Master the Workflow" course? It really sounds like it'd be worth my time as a student right now, but I'm not sure...
is the main editor using premiere?
Anyone here, who could help with a quick rundown of the editing setup or a more functional editing setup that could do both offline and online, on Avid and PP.
There’s definitely a big range depending of freelance vs staff, this size of the company, etc but freelance at a boutique shop doing high end stuff $1000/day isn’t at all unheard of. But staff at an ad agency’s in house shop, yeah $400-600 is probably more realistic.
