hey everyone it's Sharon with the Cozy junk Studio we're going to make a video with some medication bottles I thought that this would be a neat video because everybody has access to these even if you're not taking medicine you might know someone that tosses these out I had a lot of ideas but I only got to a few and I knew that we could do a quick video on here and get some trash or junk to treasure done in this video so I'm taking two different sizes of these medicine bottles and I'm going to be using some of my um scrapbook type papers you can use decapage Scrapbook napkins you can use cute things you get in the mail whatever you want to put on these I'm going to turn these into some cute little buckets to hold Christmas trees so I want to go ahead and get these edges off of here now you don't have to do this but I was trying to get the little Pokey things off because we don't need those we're not going to be using the lids they don't need to attach so I'm just taking my clippers and pulling the most part off of these with the Clippers you don't have to but I wanted to do it to mine next I'm just going to go ahead and add the paper to this now scrapbook paper is quite thick I went ahead and cut mine down and then I took packing tape to the back of this to pull off some of that thick paper and make it thinner and easier to attach to the bottle because the images I want to use are not that large I'm going to fill in some of the places with this scrapbook paper um it's a little bit thinner so I don't really need to do anything to make it thinner I am just using a glue stick to do this now I have had some people to say not use glue sticks however I only use permanent scrapbook glue sticks either the recol ctions brand which is a permanent hold or the craft Bon scrapbook permanent hold glue sticks I don't use the um any other kind especially the kind that says washable because that stuff just doesn't hold so I'm using a glue stick to attach these to the bottles and to get them all the way around making sure they just run right under that lip down to the bottom of the of the bottle once I get my paper on there and get that trimmed down I'm going to go ahead and use some black paint to paint the bottom of the bottle around the top edge of the bottle and just a little ways down in the bottle um because our trees may show some of that inside and I want that to be covered I'm also taking the flat side of my paintbrush and just edging that black around the paper bottom where it was cut so it Blends it in with the painted uh base of this it just gives it a little bit more of a smoother look instead of just cut off flat paper at the bottom I'm going to repeat the steps with the second bottle but I'm showing you the glue stick that I use here you can see it says permanent Bond and of course it's acid-free non-toxic especially if you're scrapbooking or using on paper that you don't want or your photos you don't want them to disintegrate or to turn yellow uh this will not do that now that we have the paper and the paint on both these bottles I'm going to go ahead and use this black twine and I'm going to wrap this around the top edge of my bottle because I kind of want these to mimic those cool cans that everyone's using this year to stick their trees down in sometimes they'll have a label with writing um this would have been cool if you want to use uh silver paint and make a um like an aluminum looking can or oh gosh I don't know what that's I can't remember what it's called I know what it's called but I can't remember the name but you know like The Farmhouse um silvery looking can that would have been cool too and then put just a little label on the front I've seen a lot of Christmas trees especially at the antique malls it's just sitting in those big silver aluminum looking buckets so we're just going to wrap this twine around the tops of these to finish uh the top edge off and to kind of hide that uh where we the the bottle lip that um keeps the the lid on the bottle I did start out using hot glue and the wood glue with this I was afraid the hot glue wouldn't stick to the plastic but I did go ahead and just change over to hot glue with just a tad of wood glue now I went ahead and wrapped the rest of these off camera and I thought that we would go ahead and um wrap some of this gold ribbon just to hang haphazardly off the top with a couple couple little embellishments for our tree holders now all you have to do to these is add a couple of bottle brush trees of different sizes you can put some glue down in these to permanently put the trees down in I would use some mixture of hot glue and some wood glue or either some um E6000 these would make make great gifts you can sell these with the little trees as self shelf sitters you can also use these on on tear trays or just give them to a coworker to sit on their desk as a little um gift I think these are adorable you all have to let me know in the comments below what do you think about these will you be using peel bottles to make these I just thought they were so cute now there are tons of ideas of what to put in peel bottles and how to reuse them on Pinterest I did gain some inspiration from them but I didn't see any peel bottles used for this I'm sure they are out there let me know what you think our next project we are going to make this pill bottle kind of look like a spool and to get that uh we're going to be using two of these flat jar lids now I went ahead and painted this green uh peill bottle a white color because I'm going to be wrapping some twine around this and I don't want the green to show through so it doesn't have to be perfect just a light coat of white paint I'm going to go ahead and paint both the lids that white as well I do go ahead and attach the lids to the both ends of the bottle with some of that fixel glue from the Dollar Tree it is similar to E6000 and believe it or not I think it attaches way quicker than E6000 I used some hot glue just for immediate attachment but not much and I honestly think that the fix all really attached super quick because I started painting these immediately the lids and you'll see I didn't have any problem it was attached within seconds so it could have been the hot glue but I don't know sometimes hot glue doesn't attach great to plastic or metal it really just depends so I'm going to wrap our faux spool now that we have everything attached and painted with this it's gift trim so I ordered this from Walmart whenever I ordered my groceries and I thought it was twine I didn't realize it was this weird red and white polyester stuff it's fine it worked out but it's definitely not the color I wanted but I bought it it it wasn't that expensive um if you like the bright red and white they have this in the wrapping paper section but I was really wanting the toned down cream and dark red twine but we're using this to make our little spool vignette you all this one turns out so cute okay so I'm just going to wrap that whole thing voila it's done and it don't look too bright now that it's kind of all together I don't know it maybe it's just me but what I'm doing is taking a couple of these couple of these little tiny bottle burst trees and I'm going to add some more of that fix all glue and hot glue to the bottom of these and attach it to my top of my spool then we're just going to keep adding some small little items to go on the top of this to make a cute little vignette for the top of our [Music] spool [Music] now I'm at the point where I want to add some like faux snow so I'm adding some Mod Podge on different areas and then I'm going to take some of that Dollar Tree metallic faux looking snow and just keep sprinkling on till I get it the I want it and I add some red berries uh I think after the [Music] [Music] fact [Music] I do finish this off with that um faux glitter at the bottom but I could have tied like a bow around this or added some extra twine or just some other little things on that red and white twine let me know what you think in the comments below should I've added more to the red and white twine like maybe hung something off of that I do like how this one turns out and kind of looks like a spool all right so our next project is definitely a cool one I was so excited about this one and I have another one another idea to tell you about why we make this one so I pulled out some fabric for this one because we are going to be making the cutest little gift for Christmas or any time of the year for someone who is going away to college who maybe is just starting out with their own home different ways that this gift can be used it is going to be a cute little sewing kit so I grabbed out some of my really cute Fabric and I thought that since this was like a travel kit or a small start out kit that we would use some of this uh fabric that has labels on it and I end up using the one that says travel and then we use a map fabric as the top of this so I went ahead and painted the bottom and then the top edge of this black we're going to be using some Beacon 3 in1 or fabac glue to attach this to our bottle I'm going to be brushing this on with a paintbrush you can use Mod Podge for this hot glue uh but I want to go ahead and use this fabric glue because it lays flat and it won't bunch the fabric up underneath if the hot glue gets too thick and dries it shows but this doesn't do that it gives it a smooth finish underneath I actually thought about using my glue stick for this but I went ahead and went for with the fabac I grabbed my uh Fusion Everett color paint and decided to go around this cap the base of this cap we're not going to need Paint on the top of it because we're going to be doing something different but I loved this color and I thought it kind of matched with the the fabric where it says travel it has kind of this color and those letters so I'm just going to give this edging two coats and make sure that white doesn't show um around the bottom Edge as well so for the top of this we need a pin cushion because we want the top of this bottle to serve as a pin cushion so I cut my matte fabric into a circle and now I'm going to be making what's called a um a um rosette or a fabric oh my goodness what are these called pin wheel a fabric pin wheel so I what you do is you just fold the edge of your circle in and then take your needle and sew through like zigzagging until you get quite a bit on the needle and then you pull your thread through once you do that all the way around and you pull this it'll tighten up and then we're going to put some cotton in the center of this you could use cotton balls if you don't have batting or you could even Bunch up fabric but I had some uh batting from an old pillow or stuffing whatever you want it's called polyfill maybe um but you use whatever you have on hand it's not necessary to buy something specific for this the whole purpose is to use you know what we have and to try to recycle once I got this almost completely sewn around I went ahead and stuffed my batting in there and now I'm just finishing that last little area off and I'm going to tie a knot if you were making a true pin wheel you would close this almost completely up but we want to leave this open enough to make it look like a pillow or a cushion on top of our peel box bottle so we don't need to close this now that I have mine finished the way that I want it I'm just trying to maneuver it a little bit to make it a little bit more round and More close to the size of the top of this bottle uh bottle lid and I'm just going to use hot glue I'm going to start putting um some hot glue down right in the center of this cap attach it and then continue to use hot glue while pulling this out to the edge to make it more of the shape of the top of the lid this was not my original idea I got this from 104 Homestead I think that's the name of it 104 Homestead the 104 Homestead or 104 homestead.com she also had a I think it was her or him had an idea to make a um first aid kit in a bottle and I wanted to do that so bad but I just ran out of time I may do that in a trash upcycle video I plan on doing more of a compilation one like I did a couple weeks ago uh this one was just a quick one on the uh peel or medication bottles all right so now I wanted to go ahead and finish that top edge off you know we put we used paint on the bottom Edge but I wanted to cover up the seam on the top so I'm just using one thin strip or a strip of the black twine around that and that'll finish the top of this off now I'm just showing you what I'm going to put inside of my little sewing kit I have a couple uh little rolls of thread a few needles I have a little it's not a thimble but it's a little finger uh metal finger thing that'll keep the needle from or you you're able to push with the needle y'all I cannot talk tonight actually I just worked a full shift till 2:30 this morning and now I'm trying to do this video so please excuse me and then I added a measuring tape and look at the little pins on top oh my gosh I'm in love with this not just not just the design but the whole idea itself let me know what you think about this one all right so last but not least this one is kind of a kitty one and I knew you guys would appreciate this one so I went ahead and added it I'm using an old Christmas card from last year actually it was a money holder I saved them in my Christmas um upcycling stuff so what what I had to do with this was I went ahead and used the packing tape and and got some of that thickness off of the back because it's very thick card stock and um you don't have to do that you can just use hot glue and it'll be fine but I wanted to go ahead and get some of the that thickness off of the back of this all right so I'm just cutting this down to fit the size of my bottle and then we're going to use like I said hot glue to wrap this around all right so this one was another similar one to that Homestead 104 her idea was painted bottles and like superhero I wanted to use this card and show you guys how you can use cards on these peel bottles so this one is my idea off of her inspiration I am going to use this for a kid's gift because you all we are going to put quarters in this this is exactly well not quite but almost exactly the size of quarters oh my gosh it turns out so cute okay so this glue glitter was literally driving me insane so I had to grab some mod podge and glue that stuff down before I could continue with this project it was all over me I think my mom got these and put money in them I don't buy cards with glitter so anyways I sealed that off and started back over when I glued this down and put it together of course I want it to stay because you know it's going to be for a kids gift but I didn't stress too much about it it's just a kids gift let's put some cute stuff on it not worry too much about the details also I will put a caution out there this is going to be for an older child that does not put things in their mouth um the one that I'm making uh and then of course quarters in general so like I said we're just using hot glue to get the this card down and then we're going to use some of that cool um well I say cool but you know I didn't really care for the color I don't know I guess it grew on me we're going to use some of that red and white packaging trim and I end up using that whole thing and I was glad because like I said it wasn't my favorite but it worked it worked perfect actually okay so we're going to trim that out with that I'm not putting any paint um around the edge of top of this I'm only going to use paint on the bottom uh just some white paint and I'm going to paint the lid white I thought we would paint the lid white because I want to use some of this trim on the top of the lid and do something something a little fun and one of the reason I didn't paint the top of the bottle white like I did the other ones black is because that paint is not going to stay on there that great I don't think uh as you take the lid on and off and I just didn't want white paint chipping with kids in their hands especially if they were going to be opening the bottle a lot to get in and get those quarters anyways you know probably thought way too much into that but I'm taking that twine or gift wrap stuff and just gluing all around the top of the lid and then I'm going to add a cute little bell for a sound effect I thought that that would be fun now I will tell you 454 fit in this bottle which is $11.25 and that is a cool little amount for a stocking stuffer or just to add to a cute little gift I'm just adding some of the stickles to the top of this Rim just to give it a little bit more Sparkle to add to that Glitter that I had to mod podge earlier and what do you guys think of this one I think this is such a cute little you know gift for the right size kid and I know they're going to love that stack of quarters in there um there's so many things you could put in one of these for kids as a little stocking stuffer or you could make these with kids that would be really really fun all right let me know what you think of this one in the comments below I hope you guys enjoyed this video and got some inspiration and ideas for some Christmas uh gifts and some little things to sell or to give especially to little to you know like co-workers let me know what you think and I will see you in the next video
