insect inside i don't know we're gonna find out you're ready to open it and you don't remember yeah i forgot you're ready to open it and free the animal and save the animal yeah so i'm gonna cut a little bit grown up only thanks mommy of course kate oh mommy you can't help whoa because there it is what do you see what animal do you see [Music] you kissed it and let's turn hand away please so grown-up only what are you doing there's a little crack here what is that food coloring yeah i actually yeah i did put food coloring so that's why you see the color kate i kept it clear but emma i put food coloring wow wow it's dripping already because we don't want to make a mess inside so there's kay and here's emma what animal is yours emma so before we begin we're gonna need some goggles just in case right you don't want to go in your eyes that's right there you go and before emma king does the experiment let me show you guys how i did it okay you want to know yeah roll the clip okay so the first thing you're gonna need to make your own giant ice balloon is a balloon you can use small one or you use big ones here's a clip for when ryan's daddy made it for us first grab a balloon then get your favorite toy carefully put the toy inside the balloon did i mention carefully once the toy is inside fill the balloon with water oopsie carefully not to splash water everywhere the balloon will get bigger and bigger then remove it and put it on the tray next tie the balloon so the water won't spill out everywhere next put the balloon in the freezer until the water inside becomes ice now here's for the bigger version so this is a giant size balloon okay and then you can put any animals in it but this one i'm going to use a little b [Music] all right in you go b don't worry we'll rescue you later okay let's go in go tight okay here we go and then just fill it with water that's it fill it with water super easy okay guys so i fill up water and you have to be very careful because it gets heavy look it's like super heavy and bouncing i don't have the strong muscles super super heavy but we're trying to make it a lot bigger okay not a lot but like a little bigger okay look how jiggly it is okay don't get older anymore look what's happening [Music] once you think it's big enough turn off the water tie and then tie your balloon [Music] look how wiggly it is it's so fun and the bee is somewhere in there can you see it and then using some strong muscle parents only whoa this is slippery okay should i ask daddy to do this using strong muscle [Music] i really got this guys freezer and then carefully carefully [Music] put it into the freezer there it is all right good luck and then let it sit overnight so if you don't let it sit overnight long enough there could be water in there still okay so that's what happened to us but the longer you wait the better okay we're back you guys ready to get started yes okay so kate's gonna try first let's see oh it's a little bit are called patriot dishes don't touch the pastry dish good thing there's actual cover so inside the patriot dish are out there and inside the alga there's actually food for bacteria so emma and kate is gonna go around the house and look for bacteria okay on my ipad yes on your phone on my phone okay we're gonna see if my phone and my laptop is clean okay so here's a cotton swab for you here's a cotton swab for you dip it in water get a little bit moisturized because bacteria likes water to grow a little moisture there you go now find a place you want to swap okay kate want to swab my laptop so there it is there you go pick up those bacteria if they're there let's see how clean my laptop is right there you go nice so now we're gonna open it and then you're gonna just lightly swap don't do it too hard just a little bit like on the side here yes it might break this but you're doing great just like that is that yeah good then we're gonna close it up right and then we're gonna turn it around like that here we go okay emma want to swap daddy's laptop okay there you go nice let's see how dirty daddy's laptop is okay when's the last time you clean it three years what there you go go check it out so we opened it and now emma is gonna swab for daddy's laptop yeah put those bacterias in there let's see there's any bacteria on daddy's laptop it will transfer in here okay nice good that's nice huh now i want to make your shoes you might do my okay after this we'll do my shoe it's gonna be dirty huh there it is ryan's shoe is dirty this is actually the fridge you look here the bacteria is smaller than ryan's shoe right there's a lot of bacteria wrinkles it looks like sprinkles and this oh this one is not a lot this is from kate's ipad not that much okay good job your ipad was pretty clean but a little bit dirty good job next i will do everything okay and this this is from mommy's ipad so mommy's ipad and kate's ipad okay it is a lot of bacteria so you need to keep it clean yeah you did do my ipad yes and this is ryan's ipad i think ryan's ipad is dirty but it doesn't have as much bacteria as ryan's shoes right ryan's shoes a lot more he's never cleaned this too honey i'm not going to start cleaning shoes yeah the fridge is tiny well this is so like smaller a lot of small colonies this is kate's uh when the one that you did look that's a big colony of bacteria right there do you see it mommy is it is there life in there yes these are all the live germs that is growing and multiplying and dividing so this one is from daddy's laptop oh whoa look mommy shoe and ryan's shoe is almost the same it's super dirty okay emma casey what did we learn we always have to wash our hands wash your hands because there are bacterias everywhere we met at the airport that's right even at the airport so it's very important to clean and wash your hands right mommy even the places you didn't clean that's right we need to clean more huh yeah hi emma hi mommy what are we playing with today but these are not regular sand magic magic stamps when they put it in they don't get wet that's right okay let me show you you see how it just clumps on the bottom and it doesn't get wet at all okay kate's turn sure of course put all the sand you like and look if i put my hand inside what happens and i take it out look it's dry see it's not wet at all not in this hand okay let's try here you see how it's it's dry yeah isn't that cool it's cold is it the water's cold yeah i'm putting a whole bunch in so they're gonna just put the whole container sand in whoa what just happened look how it looks [Music] it looks so dry and gray that's right [Music] whoa sure you can mix it if you want okay so while they're mixing let me show you guys how i done it you guys want to know how to make your own magic sand yes okay roll the clip okay guys so in order to create magic sand all you need is some sand you can use regular sand or you can buy online these color sands so this is what i bought it comes with a whole pack of colored sands and some fabric water shield so this will protect the sand from water first thing is take your sand and just pour it into a tray okay so here's red [Music] yellow it's so bright that's green blue orange [Music] brown next use your fabric water shield shake and then just spray spray then you're gonna mix to get the inside and then spray so spray and mix and spray [Music] so that's it you just do it to all of them okay so here it is yellow spray mix spray mix once you're done spraying and make sure everything is mixed together just let it dry for one to two hours and then have fun with your magic sand so they're still playing but when they do that i'm going to show you guys here i'm gonna put my hands down and see the yellow stand here i like your look it's completely dry see not wet at all so on wet sand your hand is wet because of the water but the sand is completely dry why is it dry yeah because i put a protective waterproof on it cool huh yeah hey see how super dry i'm gonna take out some sand okay and i'm gonna put it on here to show you guys see super dry sand it looks red but it's not wet yeah not wet at all huh your hand is wet because of the water right it looks like germs but the sand from the water is completely dry that's so cool right science is amazing is this giant yeah and it's really science mm-hmm um can i put some of my yeah super cool cold because of the water yeah and you can let it out to dry and you put it in water and do it all over again can we share some sand sure [Music] wow it feels so interesting it is yeah i like how we just mixed the sand together huh wow just interesting got an emma pile going and oh kate's getting some sand in hers very cool emma can you that how did you do that magic yes so whatever i put inside absorbs the water so you see you can just crush it up but whatever it is absorbs the water and that's why ryan did not get wet what do you online okay if you guys want to get it it's i bought it from steve's spangler science website so first ryan's gonna need some water a lot more the whole container just fill it up ryan fill it up there you go take one spoon of that pour it in there okay that's all you need now you can use that and pour it in there and see what happened are you ready what happened it just absorbed all the water exactly can i try to turn it over you see it doesn't come out mind blown that is so cool [Music] this is so cool it is it's one of my favorite science experiments so these are called polymers and they're really really good at absorbing water and do you know where you can find these [Music] do you to you want to guess a product that you see where this chemical could be very very useful do you know all right you want me to tell you how that is actually also in diapers that's what they use in diapers so like if you cut this open what you see inside the diaper is actually these powder or something similar to this powder that's why it's good right that's why you can you know you can use the diaper and it absorbs a lot of water in here it'll be fun let's try to make a color version let's do it we're going to use elmo's scissors here to see if it works okay we're gonna change the color to red it's actually purple but it looks pinkish yeah apricot make my water disappear let's see if we can take it out right so ryan splat it so it broke okay so we're gonna try again i think it's gonna make green or it might just make it yellow and blue you guys know what color it's gonna make can't catch the spill there let me spill some all right cake oil so all i'm using is vegetable oil you can also use baby oil i don't like now you don't like the smell [Music] next we need the water yeah so i have water here so i'm going to fill up with water okay okay so grown-up can do this far see it spills everywhere it's hard to record and add at the same time you see the bubbles already yeah so that's really cool huh almost like a mini lava lamp already so i'm gonna add some to cakes [Music] it looks cool huh yeah do you see how it's separated here so what's on top and then what went all the way to the bottom water that's right the oil and water don't mix and so it's not together oh i see kate's face in the the oil do you guys see it a big cake hi where'd cait go where emma go hey so next is you're gonna pick a food coloring so what color you gonna pick emma yellow for emma and red for kate okay so you can add a few drops not a lot because if you do a lot it's gonna look dark okay we're gonna add some three that's too much one uh you guys see it two three oh you guys see the food coloring in there it's going down the blue color went down there all the way down maybe you can add a few more you want to try a few more like one more try one more maybe two more okay all right emma's gonna try yellow that's right it's sinking it's sinking yeah because the density is more than the oil so the food coloring actually sinks look at that and do i have to stir yes that's right so we don't have a stirring rod but we do have a giant chopstick that we could use to stir so we're going to stir to see if the color will go in there you go oh look am i seeing but yours turned yellow already there we go okay you're getting there so we can add a little bit of glitter let's see if it makes any difference there you go sprinkle it in there oh do you see some at the top that's really pretty color okay glitter time now they're gonna agitate and let the glitter go down a little bit you guys see the glitter there that's really cool there you go so we got some aqua saucer we're going to add in and see if it's going to work well we're going to start you see it's throwing a bubble there let's see if anything i like a whip you like a wig guys look look it's starting okay look it's like a lava lamp wow isn't it cool i'm gonna add more okay go ahead and add more finished so there's emma's and there's kate so kate's really cool look at that it's bubbling up do you see it whoa whoa so is that cool yeah so the next lava lamp is gonna be mommy's lava lamp i'm gonna use a baby oil instead so the oil will be clear so maybe you can see it better yeah okay so i'm gonna try to put it in there without spilling there we go i know okay so i got the oil next i'm gonna add some water let's build and let mommy know okay i am not good i'm spilling i'm doing a great job see the bubbles yeah okay so emma's gonna help me with food coloring we're picking green there we go add a few drops of green you guys see it on the bottom there okay now we're gonna stir it and agitate you have to put all the way to the bottom there you go perfect good job emma yeah that's the oil and then that's the water and they don't really mix together right they separated okay so now they're gonna add some glitter because it looks fun all right okay turn good you guys see the glitter there good job so next we're gonna add some alka-seltzer and let's see the lava lamp begins okay so we're gonna wait and see if it's gonna work get in there is it getting there it's working the bubbles are freaking out it's any green growing up do you see any green pieces what the green is going up whoa do you see the lava going up there we're gonna have to add a few more maybe we need a few more oh thanks for sharing good girls that's the bubbles oh look now it's super green everywhere look it's going crazy fell down in the bottom it fell down then it goes back up that's really cool huh mommy ready yes first thing you're going to do is get some food coloring any color you want yeah any color you want and put it on the lemon put this three drops yeah you can add a little bit more there you go so it can be any color yeah there you go kate there you go whoa okay say stuff for me [Music] no it's red so that's red for emma and then that is yellow white color i think it's green i think it's blue or green that's it it's green i told you it's green yeah i'm going to this is blue emma let's see yeah yours looks blue i need green there you go that's green there you go yellow so there's this one you guys can mix two colors together and see what it makes that'll be fun there you go two colors it's filled on me it's okay we can wash that off all right guys so the next thing i do is put a spoon of baking soda in each of the lemons okay there you go cake there we go that's right good job emma there we go so lemon is an acid and baking soda is a base together they're gonna make a really cool chemical reaction okay and they're gonna float no explode but it will make bubbles bubbles yeah gases are gonna come out it's gonna look really cool but i can't eat it it's gonna be that one yeah too sour there you go they're done one didn't get enough three okay next thing is emma okay put on gloves take a popsicle stick put it in there a hot and then poke it in there like this just poke it oh so cool do you see what happened when you poked it okay yeah that was so cool do you see the bubbles coming out yes there you go wow so cool another just poke it and stir in there do you see the bubbles are carbon dioxide yeah oh cool you see the gas coming out guys oh this is the one you put two colors in this one look you see it coming out right now you squeeze it too whoa cool yeah you guys see it you have to poke at it and then stir there you go like this agitate means mix there you go emma do you see how the carbon dioxide gas is coming out squeeze it it comes out let me try see there you go whoa good job emma look girl yeah it's bubbling it's the gas coming out from the chemical reaction of an acid which is a lemon and then the baking soda which is a base going on okay there you go okay good job okay so another way you can do this is you start with the same as some of your favorite colors on the lemon i'm doing blue and then next i'm adding green all over the lemon what's different this time is that i'm using some soap here i'm using some don so over the lemon and food coloring then now i'm adding baking soda here we go same as when emma and kate did it now it's time to poke and then squeeze do you see how there's more foam coming out because of the soap it's a lot of foam hi emma k hi mommy what are we doing today that's right so we have some white flowers here we're gonna pick some food [Music] food coloring we're putting the color one color in each glass and we're gonna see after a few days to see if this white flower will change colors so you guys ready yeah i'm gonna put blue in the air okay so emma's gonna put some blue there you go good job emma there you go and you're gonna add your tape right [Music] that looks blue already that's right kate yeah it looks so blue good job now yellow that looks like orange yeah it does i think after you stir it it does look like orange you right cake just to make sure it's all mixed in together and what's another word for agitate what does it mean right to mix or to stir nice mix and make turn okay what color is that red red okay and some green yep you got enough that's perfect okay good job and then you're gonna stir them or agitate okay now let's educate it both times together wow nice thing that's right i need mine yep now it's for the flowers there we go we're gonna just put it in i can do another one yeah you can do all of it if you want there you go oh it's so bendable before emma and kate did it um i actually trim about an inch off the bottom so there you go nice girls i didn't know you did that i know i did that before we started i didn't know why the wet inside they came here because it's already in water there you go perfect girls it's getting it's getting like four races i know it does like a flower for it yes nice okay so i'm gonna move these out of the way and we're gonna observe it for a few days and see if they change colors okay yes you guys think it's gonna change colors yes yes we have some extra flowers here so what we're gonna do is uh we're gonna split the stem in half put half in here and half in here we're gonna see if we can get a change color ones with two colors do you think it's gonna work yes okay so kate's putting blue and emma's putting green and then the other one kate's putting yellow no annoying it's orange it does look like orange and then the other one you're gonna pick which color emma [Music] rest very cool now i'm gonna ask daddy to cut it okay all right daddy so daddy's doing it for me so all you need is get some flowers white flower and then just split the stem in half with a scissor dots only slowly but steady you wanna just cut in half [Music] okay okay here one for you so emma is going to get the stem and put and split it in half and put it in there you go emma perfect that's how you do it so we're gonna experiment to see if one comes from red and one's come from green and if it goes up here maybe half of it will be red and the other one will be green you think it's gonna work yes yes so kate's doing one side blue and one side orange see there it is you put one in blue and one in orange so hopefully what do you guys will think will happen this comes orange side this come blue slime really okay let's see it's gonna work so now we're gonna wait a few days all right yes okay guys it's been a day you guys see here what you guys see the green on that one and because it came from the green food coloring the water travel all the way up and now you notice it's green okay let's check out the other one so this one is red and then here you can see it's a little bit it's starting to be pink so this one is actually broke to have to tape it and i think this flower requires more time but you can kind of see the blue on the pedal do you guys see it so it's getting there it might take more time than the other type of flower this one i don't really see anything yet this one is blue and you guys see there's blue and then this one is the orange lash yellow and you guys see it's right there it changes from white to yellow hey guys today is day three look the plants are turning different colors yeah so i actually also put in the rose right here so you can see it also changes yellow look at that and this one's red and green um this type of flower actually i didn't keep up very well so it's kind of not surviving and this one you can see if you look really close so you can see some of the colors but not really yeah some is still white but most of it is colored yeah so it depends on different type of plants that you use so the rose i actually added in just yet last night so it takes some time but green and then green you see the green rose there ryan yeah but look on the other side here really cool so this is a rose where it has um orange and green and if you look here look at this rose see how half of it is yellow and half of his green that's so cool yeah so it's really cool how plants are able to transport its water against gravity and there that's how you see it that's super cool [Music] all right [Laughter] oh got you day six look at this beautiful rose this one looks the coolest i know right i love the two different colors here's a close-up of it looks really really cool half yellow and half green so this one is half red and half blue and you look here kind of see the blue but mainly the red right oh yeah i can see a little bit of blue yeah so here's a close-up of the half red and half blue it's a little blue not as much but there it is super cool and it just didn't work at all so yeah i think it takes up to 10 days to work but i didn't wake up yeah flower power right come on this is really really pretty when you put them all together look at all the different colors right mommy can you tape them together to look like a bouquet it does look like bouquet you're right super cool how does it smell good love it ah thank you these are the flowers that did work so
