him dieter kill the least and that's the place where tree my blood leg and it's their little side least oh did you will never leave harm [Music] my walk down here in January 2017 I was invited to join the East Tennessee overlanders and bowled over land on an adventure into the deep dark hills of Eastern Kentucky the timing couldn't have been any better since we just happened to be visiting family in Tennessee at the time so I call up an old friend we also love their land and headed off for a much-needed weekend of adventure after meeting up with the Knoxville Tennessee members the caravan to the Kentucky border and joined the main group of over Landers with our convoy now numbering 20 vehicle strong we set our hellos and made our way towards the Appalachian skills in a previously explored route provided by the good folks [Music] [Music] so he said I'll pay it for your mineral [Music] granny should go down chief and moved out with the Pineville to a farm where big risk they sang a new song just air with [Music] [Music] steady range over the past couple of weeks made even the milder portions of the trail a slippery mess and it wasn't long before alternative traction methods were called into service it's not always easy to swallow your pride and admit your mistakes when surrounded by a crowd of onlookers so like you're not I made a rookie mistake when it came into chronic 320-grit I was in traction control engaged thankfully Tommy with bold Overland pointed out the traction control should be off in these muddy situations and the next attempt was a success where the Sun comes up about the morning and the Sun go [Music] about and you feel your car I didn't call from the bottom your brain um [Music] bless the group made up the hill Dallas trip with the exception of Curt the score drivers simply not engage after moving his trailer the Billy's bowled over Landry he was able to make her run at the hill get close enough for a tug to the top [Music] after overcoming our obstacle yet spirit or I as Weyand ov into the kentucky undergrowth and we can making our climb out of the valley it wasn't long before the lead rigs came to a halt as the trail seemed to simply disappear into a wall of rocks and trees after taking some time to assess the situation we were able to determine where the trail was intended to pass through though it was severely degraded from erosion while the route would be passable in dry weather the constant rain over the past weeks had turned the ground into a sloppy mess since attempting to turn twenty rigs around and tight undergrowth would do significant damage to the trail side we opted to invest the time in clearing and reinforcing the original path for those who would one day travelers Ralph as well [Music] and as where [Music] all right your plan [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we'll just ah you ah we just ah [Music] Wow no he'll tell you right back great [Music] I made a look easier Oh oh yeah that's right a girl game what's with y'all from after two hours of clearing wishing contraction matting away through the ravine the convoy made it through with her stomachs growling we headed to a nearby clearing instead of camp for the night all we didn't cover many miles in the stage adventure with a great friend for working together to overcome each challenge along the way another valuable outcome from the day was that we each learned a bit more about our own over landing techniques and rigged abilities it's a very nasty condition but we serve to boost our confidence and skills never we encounter these types of obstacles in the future as we sat around the fire and recounting the weekend adventure it made me love it's over Linux community even more the instant connection and lasting friendships you walk away with are hard to come by these days with our rat race is a social media based interaction the bottom line is that you simply can't substitute time spent around the campfire with a group of individuals towards together all day long to ensure the safety and overall success of the rolling city [Music] I got a jacket rat affiliated the next morning after a hearty breakfast I parted ways I'm headed south to East Tennessee carrying more than a few pounds of confession ed withers box all over land like to thank East Tennessee over energy and bold over there for inviting us there's part of it to him we had an absolute flat if you guys ever make your way to New Mexico be sure and look this up so we can return the favor [Music] Rock Me mama like a wind and the rain Rock we love a lot about Boundary Bay [Music] [Music] if you're basing the Southeast United States I'm looking for a great organization to be part of to make sure and look up East Tennessee over lenders on Facebook and join a truly exceptional individuals
