going on a nature height yeah and we're having so much fun enjoying the sunshine and the fresh air and the really tall green trees okay it's my turn okay I spy with my ma eye something big and blue oh it this flower yeah look it's a red flower Bud a yeah so pretty hasn't bloomed yet no not till the spring then it will be a beautiful red flower wao What a Beautiful Day flippy did you know that today is Earth Day I didn't H I wonder how do you celebrate Earth Day let's sing a song and find out look at what it's worth to live on planet Earth it's the place that we call home yeah it's pretty great with the buzzing of the bees the wind blowing through the trees it's the place that we call home and we must protect it so the plants can grow so Lippy what can we do to help the Earth I'm glad you asked actually hit [Music] it instead of throwing this away we can make it into a house where a bird can stay tweet tweet little birdie here's a new home for you wait before you throw that in the eating fruit FR yeah I especially love fruit because it's an always food yeah you can always have a healthy snack by eating some fruit mhm look at this bright red apple oh and I have a bright orange banana wait a minute Orange it's a yellow banana one of my favorite colors oh well this definitely is going to be a tasty snack for me yeah oh got I just peel it and then take a bite oh how's your Apple delicious how's your nana that is so yummy and sweet I certainly love eating yummy fruits and vegetables me too especially with my best friend do you like to eat fruits and vegetables too awesome well ma when we're done eating we're going to have some leftover food scraps we should probably find a place to put them I don't see any place nearby yeah we don't want to L and just throw them out in nature we need to find a place to put our banana peel and our Apple Core maybe we can keep going down the trail and we'll find somewhere okay okay here we go woo okay let's keep going down the trail eating our yummy snacks and keep on the lookout for a place to put our scraps woo whoa Ma look at this wa I wonder what it is a trash can maybe but it doesn't quite look like one hey do you know what shape this is yeah it's a triangle is two triangles oh yeah it is one two oh hi I'm flippy I'm M nice to meet you hi I'm Hillary I'm an Eco educator here at tree people o Hillary Hillary what is this triangular thing that's a great question this is actually two different types of soil whoa yeah check it out look looks like there's some sandy soil in this one m and some mushy green brown looking soil in this one so one of these sides is actually six soil can you guess which side is our six soil uh this side um your close is actually this side oh oh yeah well you think we need to take that dirt to the doctor well this side is our six City soil because it doesn't have a lot of nutrients in it there are some concrete blocks on the top that probably is not too good for the soil no that actually represents our sidewalks in the city and what about this one over here so this is our healthy soil that's the type of soil you're going to see out here at tree people or around on Hikes yeah look there's some leaves hang on some bark and it's definitely green looking yeah looks nice and healthy well Hillary we also have some food scraps from our snack and we were wondering what we should do with them or where we could put them that's a great question you can actually put that in something called a compost bin what's a compost bin that's a great question when you add your fruit and veggie scraps to a compost bin it breaks down and it adds nutrients to the soil wait so putting our banana peels and apple cores in a compost bin it will make the soil really healthy like that yes exactly wa we eat it and get healthy and then we make the soil healthy that sounds fun actually you guys should follow me up the hill I know somebody special who can help you compost your enough you know I think we actually need a little bit more of bat okay well I think we can go find some okay sounds great okay we'll put our food scrubs here and be right back see you soon well ma what do you want to try to find some Twigs ooh and maybe I'll find some green leaves ooh perfect oh and look there's some green leaves here oh but we should pick from the ground yeah we don't want to hurt any of the trees or plants nearby W and look at all [Music] this yeah all these green and brown things would be great to add for the compost mm well it looks like we got a lot of leaves and twigs and organic things ooh Some berries too oh yeah let's take this back to the dirt doctor woo ready [Music] yeah we brought it back dir doctor okay sounds great why don't we start off with our greens okay all right well how about on the count of three we do our food scraps and our green leaves and uh let's do a rainbow toss into the bucket great all right ready one two [Music] three wa well what do we do after we add all the green things to now we got to add our Browns so why don't we do a little bit of all the Browns that we have okay well we have an awful lot of leaves yeah can you pass me some yeah there you go than and I'll grab some spk and some Twigs all right great now on the count of three I want you guys to do a slam dunk into our bucket compost basketball all right ready one two three we did it well what do we add now now I'm just going to add a little bit of water so that we can have some moisture in our compost bin and why don't we mix this up can I stir of course yeah stir stir stir well that's a good mixer oh yeah and it looks like that water is helping to break it down right exactly and in two to 3 months this is going to break down into a soil that's our compost and then what do we do use the soil for that's a great question you can put it in your Gardens and you can give it to your trees and your plants yeah so they can grow big and strong speaking of plants maybe we could uh plant something yeah well I'd love to plant something actually I have something for both of you I have white sage which is a native plant wow check it out this white sage is so beautiful and the leaves are kind of fuzzy well I would certainly love to plant these white sage with my best friend well thank you so much dirt doctor it really nice learning about so many things bumpy look at how fast I'm [Music] going it's me Flippy and today I'm here at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach Florida W yeah check it out woohoo yeah a Speedway is a place where cars go really really really fast wo yeah and I'm really excited to see race car and learn about how they recycle those tires when they're done racing woohoo let's go take a closer look W check out this race car [Music] yeah can you believe [Music] it wao we're up close to an actual race car yeah you can call this a race car or a stock car and you'd probably see it at a NASCAR [Applause] event wa hey do you notice anything about this race car yeah it's the colors blue and white yeah I really like it cuz it's blue oh and look this car has a number the number 43 four and three yeah you have really colorful race cars with numbers so you can tell them apart when you're watching a really fast race oh and did you know race cars like this are super good at being really really really really safe yeah because you're going pretty fast on a track with other cars going really fast it's good to have a safe car yeah look at this do you see this metal bar wo yeah wo all these metal bars yeah called a roll cage that keeps it keeps those cars really really safe yeah hey look W there's even a bar here on the windshield that bar is called the Newman bar pretty cool whoa yeah and wait a minute there's no door handle that's because there's no door wa that's pretty silly for a race car not to have a door but it's really important so the door doesn't fly open when you're racing really fast oh you see this do you know what this part is called wo yeah this right here is the steering wheel you knew that and W steering wheels are so cool because they help you go left or right and this steering wheel comes out so you can climb through the car CU there's no door whoa and do you see this check it [Music] out yeah it's the real spoiler W this rear spoiler is really really important helps the car keep down on the track do you see what I see huh where the light should be it's just a sticker again that's cuz this race car is really safe you don't want broken glass to be on the racetrack in case you bump into a car so instead you have a nice sticker well now that we know that this is a pretty safe car to drive really fast the only thing left to do is to drive really fast wo who I can't wait to drive like all those cars on the track H but first things first Safety First here we [Music] go check get out I'm in a fire suit and a racing helmet now it's time to drive oh and remember we need to climb in because there aren't any [Music] doors W now it's time to get this race car on the track woohoo yeah W yeah wa this is really fast check it out yeah here we [Music] go this is kind of wonder what made it go so fast oh look at this o wo check out these tires and wheels oh yeah these wheels and tires look a little different from a regular car I bet they help make this car super super fast hey maybe we can learn more about these tires and how they recycle them come on peekaboo tired dance time [Music] check it out I can't believe we're close to so many actual real race car tires wa these are so cool and yeah they're really heavy too you know it'd be really cool if we had someone to tell us a little more about them oh hi there hi I'm blippy what's your name my name is Justin oh it's nice to meet you Justin nice to meet you who do you work with the goodier tires I do I get to work with all the tires and all the drivers wao and these tires they look so cool do they help the race cars go really fast that's the idea behind it is they give them enough stick so that they can go as fast as they can go W that's cool and these tires they look a little different from your regular car well look at this wo do you see this part of the tire it's really smooth and some parts are kind of hairy well that smoothness is on purpose oh really we know that we're going to run in dry so we take the pattern off oh and then we just have the rubber itself which is real sticky like chewing gum and that gives a lot of stick to it that's fun well yeah and it probably helps that it's smooth because you're on a racetrack not on the dirt or on the road that's exactly right oh yeah that's so cool and this tire is it made out of just rubber and metal well those are the big things we know that there's Rubber and we know that there's metal but we actually have a computer chip that's in the tire and we can keep track of where all the tires are are at wo a computer chip check it out wo oh and where does this go it sits right here oh right here yeah there's a computer chip here and Justin I guess that's so that you know where the tires are that's exactly the idea well that's awesome oh and Justin I had another question I was wondering there's so many tires here even more than there are cars why is that well the tires are designed to only go a certain length about 100 miles and we have to design the tires so that we have more tires than we have the length of the race oh W that's pretty handy oh but then what do you do with the leftover tires well they're actually recycled and they can end up in shoes or in roads or even playgrounds in playgrounds in shoes wait a minute that means that one day you could be walking along and you're wearing shoes made out of race car tires I want some race car tire shoes too well we'll see what we can do okay well it was nice to meet Justin nice to meet you I'll see you soon okay bye bye wo I can't believe that that was so cool learning all about those tires but I think it's time for us to explore some more and see what else we can recycle come on okay wait did you hear that wait flppy was that you yeah blippy I don't wait whoopy recycling whoa whoopy look at me I'm aluminum looks like this aluminum can could turn into a brand new can maybe H what would you like to be when you grow up I would like to be a can of soup a can of soup okay here we go woo let's see what else we have in this bag okay whoa look flippy I'm paper paper I want to be recycle too yeah you can definitely recycle plastic and metal like aluminum but you also want to recycle paper I grow on trees so it's very important to recycle me yeah maybe one day this paper can grow up and be something amazing okay there you go gobble Goble Goble really cool because they're kind of like giant batteries yeah batteries have lots of energy to power things like toys and these solar panels are huge and power all kinds of things what they do is they absorb the Sun and then they're filled with energy W yeah and once they have all that energy you can use it to power a light bulb or a fridge or even a big TV woo yeah you can power all kinds of things with a solar panel and you know it's really good to use the sunshine for energy because it's always here yeah you don't have to use up anything like fuel so Sunshine is always the way to go hey do you notice something else there certainly are a lot of them yeah there are so many solar panels here there are 7,000 solar panels here that's so many solar panels W that's so much power that's so much super power super power battery [Music] blippy who being a superhero is a lot of work well I think I just like being well that was so much fun today yeah we got to see a real race car that was welcome to the seafood section wo looks like there's some fish in here out oo some Alaska salmon wow this is a very nice grocery store yeah oh yum orange juice it's yummy and it's orange cheese I love cheese cheese please I love mac and cheese oo me too really yummy o some milk ooh and some soy milk have you ever tried soy milk before it's yummy there's all different kinds of milk yep soy milk oo cow's milk ooh and there even like goat milk oh I don't see any here though no they must be out yep oh the electronic section wow cool DVDs wow I haven't seen these in a grocery store in a long time I know DVDs and CDs yeah that is cool and things for your yards Oho yeah some hoses so then we can water our plants yep and a watering can W cool all right let's keep exploring here we [Music] go W check it out a garbage truck yeah look at it and here's a bunch of trash on this conveyor belt yeah and it looks like there's also compost here too right and things that you can recycle yeah shall we sort yeah let's do it yeah okay oo yeah do you see this yeah it looks like a bunch of flowers that's compostable good job yeah when you put that in with a bunch of other natural things like food or leaves or branches then from there then eventually it turns into soil oo and look an empty plastic bottle you can definitely recycle this oh here's another one wow some more leaves actually these are flowers W there we go oo and some leaves yeah W here's an empty bottle of milk can you recycle this yeah ooh bag of old potato potato chips or an empty bag of chips you can't recycle that put that back for the trash and we have some bark tree mark wooho this is awesome this check this out what does it look like to you it kind of looks like a beaker yeah a really big Beaker yeah that scientist used to put things in that's right oh maybe we should have a beaker dance party yes great idea wippy yeah yeah [Music] woohoo wow woo check this out over here what's that I don't know kind of looks like a funnel wo and look you must drop these little white balls right here and let's see what happens wo wo wo W wo W wo W woose that was awesome all right here we go wow it just keeps going how we we're at yeah today we're at aquarium of Boise in Boise Idaho and this place is awesome yeah it's an aquarium have you ever been to an aquarium before yeah it's so cool because they have so many marine animals here yeah marine animals are animals that live in the water well shall we go explore let's go wo oh there's so many different kinds of fish in here who they're all back there oh hello who look up here looks like a list of different types of fish oh look at that one that one's called a yellow tang yeah and it's all yellow I wonder why it's called yellow tangoo and look at this one it says purple tang woo looks like it's purple and yellow woo and that one way over there whoa Powder Blue Tang wow yeah it's blue and yellow okay let's try and find them um let's find the yellow tang yeah they're pretty distinct looking huh all yellow okay not that one wait there's one way over there do you see it it's so far back there it's hiding hello yellow tang look up there yeah an orange white and black fish I know what that that is look up here yeah that's the fish it's a clown fish look up there do you see that blue fish yeah it's just pure blue it's really bright and vibrant and look up here wo it's a blue damsel fish it's so bright and blue and colorful cool see you later fish W more fish wa look at this in here wait a second this looks like the same shape as the last clown fish but this one is just black and white yeah do you see it right there yeah a black and white striped fish here comes another one wait yeah this is actually a type of clown fish yeah but can you think of an animal that lives on land that's black and white stripes yeah a zebra wow cool these are the zebras of the ocean see you later clownish did you see that yeah that looked like a puffer fish to me who actually it's a porcupine puffer yeah looks really smooth right now but if it gets frightened or scared or angry what it does is its cheeks puff out and its whole body yeah becomes spiky yeah it's a defense mechanism super cool whoa and look down here whoa do you see this wow looks like an eel yeah this is actually a Yello head Mo eel and it's just hanging out in the Rocks yeah just chilling yeah that's what eels like to do hang out in the rocks and just poke their heads out all right see you later fun hanging out with you what else do they have here whoa look at this looks like an old boat that then water got into and rocks over the years wow it's a perfect fish habitat oh and look at what I [Applause] have yeah some snacks for the fish yeah just like how you and I like snacks yeah fish like snacks too and they said I can actually feed these fish all right first let's try these peas there we go all right pour it in my hand and then we'll see if the fish like to come and eat some food here you go whoa do you see all those fish yeah those are Japanese koi fish there's so many of them and they're so colorful all right we have a little bit more food over here all right hello Japanese jaese koish yeah all right here you go whoa are you hungry they're so cool looking they're so colorful yeah some are orange and black some are white and black and some are white black and orange see you later all right what else is around here wo look at this tank this tank is massive looks like the fish are all on the other side but there's a lot of gallons and liters of water in here oh and look at this wa looks like a scoa diver do you see this helmet it looks like a port right here yeah scuba divers have this area so then they can see while they're underwater and scuba divers where this outfit so then they can stay warm under the water and so they can breathe underwater you know how you and I have to hold our breath underwater scuba divers can breathe while they're underwater cool and do you see this big weight yeah as humans we tend to float so this weight is holding the scuba diver on the bottom of the sea Flor so then this scuba diver can work yeah looks like the scuba diver Works underwater wow W look at all these tanks wow this is so cool wo and look at this one it's really big and bright and vibrant yeah do you see that yeah that orange thing that is actually a seeing enemy oh and do you see those Rock looking things up there yeah they're also pretty bright those are coral yeah see an enemies and coral yeah they're actually animals they kind of just look like rock huh those Coral do well hey do you see how bright they are and just vibrant in color yeah it's actually because there's algae that lives inside the seing enemy isn't that interesting oh look you see how that fish is just hanging out with that Sean enemy and right next to all that Coral yeah Coral is actually really really important because a bunch of fish like these ones actually live in all the coral yeah it's just like how you and I live in a house yeah these fish love to live inside the coral and around the coral and you seeing enemies has a nice soft bed so live to be 80 to 100 years old but this one's only about 10 years old so it's going to get way bigger who who these are some big fish in here look at these hello hey and look at the bottom wo do you see all those yeah they definitely look like sharks huh look at them just hanging out out the bottom whoa look at these fish more big fish yeah these are pacu yeah pacus to be exact cuz there's many of them whoo and they kind of look like really big piranhas yeah and actually they eat vegetables they're rores yeah you see how big they are and actually let me show you something right up here it's really cool yeah here's the teeth do you see this yeah they kind of look like human teeth that they have huh and I have a big treat for us yeah these pacus I bet are very hungry and we have a nice yummy snack for them yeah these are almond watch out they might Splash W look at them [Music] go I'm throwing them down so then they hear and see them Splash there we go yeah it's like they're falling today we're in Tano Washington in front of a greenhouse W do you know what a greenhouse is yeah a greenhouse is a house that houses plants yeah it controls the environment so then you can make sure that the temperature is just right for the plants to grow really big let's go inside and check it out come [Music] on wo this place is awesome there is so many plants here wow hey look at this one yeah it's a flower oh ah smells so good looks so pretty yeah check it out another one yeah what color is this flower yeah it's the color pink ooh and all these leaves what color are they yeah the color green wow flowers are so cool you could put them on your tabletop and they look so pretty wo what kind of plants are these oh they look real small compared to those flowers yeah these are actually called succulents huh interesting H they kind of look like cactuses yeah but they're not Pokey or anything actually a cactus yeah that's a type of succulent wow succulents are so cool w W woo some more flowers over here wow there's so many flowers a lot of greenh houses have flowers in them or they could be growing fruits I love fruits and I might grow vegetables yum I love vegetables too I really enjoy eating healthy do you eat healthy yeah good job but hey what color is this flower yeah it's the color purple come [Music] on W check it out some more plants you see these kind of plants yeah it's not a flower it's not a fruit it's not a vegetable these look like a type of grass yeah three different types of grasses look W looks like my hair hello hey do I look silly or do I look silly oh now that is silly here's another type right here W and another type wa yeah do you have grass at your house you very well might it's so fun to play in and roll in WoW W there's so many plants in here I enjoy green houses wo look at this WOW wo a big pot of flow flowers did you see how it was hanging yeah this looks like a nice pretty bouquet of flowers yeah a bouquet is where it's a big group of flowers but typically you cut them off and then you can make a very colorful bouquet wow so pretty but this is also pretty and it's in a hanging pot wow all right we have to make sure we put things back where we found them woohoo wo check these out wow so many colors what colors do you see right here looks like that one is pink that one right there is red oo look at that one it's the same color as the sun yeah yellow wa all right I have a really fun thing for us to do together have you ever planted a plant yeah it's so much fun do you see this yeah you know what this is It's a flower it's an adult flower it's really old and look at this one this looks like a teenager or a baby it hasn't even created the flower yet but soon enough this is going to turn into this but in order for it to become this size yeah it starts out as a seed yeah every single plant like flowers I should say start out as seeds all right but the things that every plant needs are sun water soil which is like a house and nutrition which is like food all right so let's create this plant's house or home where we're going to put the seed oh there we go yeah let's scoop up this soil oh I'm making a mess that's okay I'll clean it up after there we go all right this soil has a lot of nutrition already in it yeah there we go and sometimes the water that you put in this to water it has some nut ntion in it as well all right so check this out this right here is a flower seed wow do you see how small it is yeah so cool so when you put this right in here and you push it down there we go okay let's cover it up just a little bit the soil is nice and moist and then after a while it's going to sprout up and it's going to be so small and cute and then it will grow up to be this wow so green and pretty but when it becomes an adult it is going to flour yeah good job all right so what are the four things that every plant needs to grow grow yeah it needs some sun it needs some soil it needs some nutrition and it needs some water wow this was awesome walking through the forest look at all the trees they give us lots of air what we need to breathe look look at all the Critter is roaming on the ground they help carry the seeds to grow plants all around flowers are a bloom and making lots of food for all the bugs and creatures even me and you we're singing the Earth song we're helping the planet together
