Dutch Wonderland - Lancaster, PA

hey you all carpetbagger here coming to you live from the north more specifically lancaster pennsylvania and even more specifically than that today we are at dutch wonderland um this is a theme park was open in the 1960s i've heard some very cool things about this park there's some very interesting things lying within there but i've never actually been here before so i'm really excited always really fun and exciting to experience a park for the very first time and you guys can come along and experience this with me so please follow [Music] me [Music] so [Music] oh check out the monorail there how cool it's very unique monorail there that solid blue color i always say monorail the greatest form of transportation ever created by man [Music] apparently this castle here at the entrance was actually built by a local potato farmer which is pretty interesting see a little boat ride here in this river and look at this it's a big purple dragon looking down over the river oh look at this the dragon here he's uh coming to life oh pretty cool oh giant animatronic purple dragon so cool all right entering through the castle here a train station here i guess that's a good way to get a peek at uh what is inside the park so we'll hop for the train hey here we go [Applause] sky ride up there cruising over top of us right now look at all there's the cows cows over there and look at this their pirate ship is a space shuttle this is the dragon's lair i think this is the boat ride that we saw on the outside of the park these little log boats i think they yeah they just drive themselves cruising along the lagoon here all right climb into our log here and in to the dragon's moat we go there there is like a little steering wheel but that doesn't that doesn't really do anything oh there there's the dragon there his name is duke the dragon it seems like we're free-floating but the boat knows where to go there's other people in there there are logs that says can you find iggy the iguana he is green and likes to hide in the mountain but i guess there is it's kind of like a treasure hunt almost like can you find sammy the salamander he likes to climb it eyed trees we will keep we'll keep our eyes open for those characters there but look at that look at that big purple purpley dragon there i don't know how often he moves seems like maybe just randomly every once in a while we'll move oh oh speaking of which there he goes there he goes see him moving there i haven't been i was looking at the dragon i wasn't paying attention to my uh my treasure hunt here can you find tucker the tortoise he likes to hide in the tall grass we're gonna see if we can find old tucker the tortoise i think that is tucker the tortoise there it's our boat makes a turn oh oh looks like we're headed into a cave here the backside of water a couple of a couple of frogs look over there there's a oh you see him snap his jaw alligator snapped his jaw just a little bit but i saw him snap it headed back in to the station looks like this is their log repair shop there he's the log hanging by a chain see that roller coaster goes right around over top the sky ride there all right a nice relaxing cruise through the sky [Music] sky car scoop yeah very interesting to have the sky cars run right through the middle of the roller coaster you can see that beam there in the middle you got one set of the sky cars on that side and the other set on that side that's pretty crazy [Music] there's a roller coaster going on behind me there it goes hear them scream so apparently in this coliseum right here they have a dive show we'll come back and check that out here in a little bit uh-oh someone dropped their shoe and someone's parent was very angry heading back into the station make your way to the designated living areas it's a big old fiberglass pretzel there the police did not crawl on the pretzel absolutely imploring you stay off the pretzel [Music] instead of a tilt-a-whirl actually have a turtle whirl which is a fairly creative idea the tilt-a-world cars are actually giant sea turtles with children in their bellies they spin around in torment i'm pretty disappointed about this the dutch wonder house is out of order according to the sign temporarily out of service so we are not going to be able to experience the wonder house so i'm kind of examining the wonderhouse seeing what kind of a attraction it is and it's a fairly small building i do not think that it is an attraction like a mystery spot where gravity doesn't work and water runs uphill and balls roll uphill but looking here at the front there is a device attached to the front of the building you see that so what i believe this is i believe you go inside probably a seated area in there and then i believe that that house would turn around you you should probably sit stationary and then the wonder house rotates around you i definitely would like to come back and check out the wonder house sometime so here's the amphitheater and it features bubba bear and the badland band show sounds like an animatronic bear show so uh yeah let's check this out got here early so i could get a good seat it's your good to see you we're here to do our best to pleasure we have songs to sing you're supposed to be doing the introducing gee that's right now what was i saying oh yes we have songs to sing and tell us to tell no one does it happens well bucky you just managed to save your heart so let's see we got a raccoon there on the fiddle a native american cow with a banjo bears playing the guitar another bear playing the bass back there got a female fox playing the slide guitar and a beaver playing the drums feathers for putting on hands my grandma taught me to play poker grandma was known as the red hot grandmother of new orleans she struck more gold than a prospector but his tail is starting to smell fishy [Music] that we decided to oblige with this special show we eat nice guys [Music] invented work oh you are don't you mean stake yourself a claim uh that what i say y'all have to excuse homer here partners sometimes he plain forgets and other times he plain just can't remember homer not so dumb you know carry aces on sleeve know how chief every self-respected riverboat gambler has an ace on his sleeve wow there are a lot of rides here that kind of take you around the park but i think the most stylish way to circumnavigate an amusement park is by monorail [Music] all right into my cabin they're currently only doing uh one group per cabin so i actually get the entire monorail cart all to myself actually the window is actually open so you get uh fresh air flowing through the monorail i don't know that i've ever rode a monorail that has an open window before picnics such as the second monorail station is haunted for some reason in operation on more than 40 acres that's pretty much 100 inside hey buddy this is it's a little amish section here we have a little horse and buggy photo op and here you can get your photo taken with some fiberglass amish people um yeah i think you if you want your picture today with amish people i think it has to be fiberglass amish people because i believe the amish don't like to have their photo taken but i could be completely wrong what do i i do i i don't know anything about the amish some sort of diorama here i'm gonna push this to get this started perfectly starting to oh look at this and that held this up but now there's little animatronics amish workers jake didn't look right out of the eyes for some time now bestie stays home and rests and sees his doctor that's his roommate right here warmer the sun comes up hot but i think jonathan it wondered me last night that you sell at i went whole car yeah yes i have a milk cow here bossy says please squeeze do not pull but oh looks like her utters have been removed here is another amish display hi ladies do you think we can finish this quilt for my mary's wedding day it draws closer you know and we have a ways to go before we're done and help this pattern quilting exhibit what color should really be animatronics quilting and sammy will miss their big sister after she marries my rebecca has the first time with hers bread she bakes like her mom and grandma but the shoe fly pies don't make for her still shush bubbly the baby cries with my mary the shoe flies are so good her brothers and pop can't get full of them here next to the amish section we have the royal raceway where we can drive a car put a few quarters in there to get our car fired up oh no my driving skills are at least something to be desired were stopping at some gas oh no crashed into the gas station let's back up oh i just got slammed from both sides why is driving so hard oh put in reverse man this is you'd think i would didn't know how to drive a normal car [Music] here looks like the kids can actually lift up the uh shovel on front of the machine what's called is it called the shovel what is the front part of a bulldozer called now this is a little bit confusing there's pandas here they have a big honey pot with bees in the middle i guess the honey is because they're bears but panda bears don't eat honey they eat bamboo so many so many questions here all right heading now on to exploration [Music] island so apparently there's some dinosaurs in these woods oh they move look at this got the triceratop making the triceratop noises so baby ones right there should i should i take one of these eggs with me no no i shouldn't okay i'll i'll back away [Music] oh wow this is pterodactyl flapping slapping its wings some of those awesome pterodactyl noises see the stegosaurus here flapping its thagomizer over the river we have a parasaurolophus and check this out you can actually control him you can hit these buttons on the control panel and you can actually control the dinosaur let's see what this button does okay that timer makes him go up and down let's see okay this one here make him wag his tail okay so it makes him do arm stretches stretch stretch let's see what these other two do okay this one makes them say no no no oh that's the that's the roar button right there let's give us one of those roars all these ones are so weird look at him so freaky [Music] the no smoking sign apparently if you smoke a pterodactyl will fly by and pick you up and carry you off oh t-rex there how blood-thirsty he looks [Music] look at this bursting out of these eggs got a little oh my gosh little baby t-rex there it's kind of cute actually let's head into aqua stadium and get our seats people all getting ready for the big dive show my number [Music] monster chest wait a minute his name is harley quinn to have you all as our visitors today it's your birthday [Music] wow what is rightfully why you have been oh sword fighting oh we knocked him into the [Music] swords and diving seemed like a dangerous combination ah time to fish [Music] shoot [Applause] [Applause] [Music] oh oh my god [Applause] that's unnecessary [Music] right next door to dutch wonderland they have a cartoon network hotel now i already have accommodations for this evening but uh seems interesting so thank you for joining me here today at dutch wonderland here in lancaster pennsylvania very interesting theme park where else can you watch
