when and how to move from late ministry to full-time ministry when should you become full-time and where should you be a lay pastor it's right at the back of this the last chapter of this when and how should you be a full-time minister let me read it to you number one I give seven points well in how you should move from the late ministry into full-time ministry number one you must have a special call to sacrifice your Isaac what do I mean by sacrifice your Isaac Abraham he has this special something and not everybody is called to sacrifice Isaac so if God has not called you to sacrifice Isaac please don't go and sacrifice Isaac it's only Abraham was asked to sacrifice Isaac Jacob was not asked to sacrifice Reuben and what's his name Judah and all those other sons he sacrificed none of them Joseph did not sacrifice any of it nobody try to sacrifice this job it is something that God must call you to so if God has not called you to lay down your medical practice your engineering practice your medical practice your welding practice your whatever do not just jump up because everybody is doing it and say I am going to do that you must have a special call to sacrifice Isaac before you move out of lay ministry into full-time ministry all of you guys I hope you are not thinking of being getting a job don't think of a job think of God and think of the ship and think of how you love them don't think of money you are going to get the goods get mine the church is going to pay me and I'll now be secure and I don't have to go look I failed in school so I was better every my sister actually has a prison here and why did you become a priest and he told I listen to be honest I wasn't good at anything I didn't do well in school that's why I became a priest and today he's a big-time bishop in our country meanwhile the reason why he became a priest was because he wasn't good at anything I didn't pass any other example so he said it to become a pastor zebu I said simple zigzag that's not a tool second reason why you come out of lay ministry into full-time ministry all right when is a why is that you must demonstrate faithfulness in handling few things the Bible says he that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much he that is unjust in the list is also unjust in much if we give you something small to do as a layperson and we say please be the pastor of this choir and even that you can't do you can't come for a test can't you can't be here when we are having a little meeting you can't plan a couple of extra hours you can only come in the morning but you can't come in the afternoon you are come for two hours but you can't come you can only come late but you can't come from the beginning you can't be faithful with something little then you won't be uncivil with something very big you know how much money is involved in the ministry how many thousands I twice on two occasions we have written checks to buy things for more than 1 million dollars in one go if I wanted to steal and I wanted to be a crook and not make a distinction between what is mine and what is the chest I love money will cross over and at the end I'll be a billionaire by now oh yes look I remember one time I was in London in 1983 I was working there and I was living there my mother asked me to come I said oh I was doing some bizarre come out investors were closed down so we were waiting for the whole year during that time I was I experienced poverty and working and my income was twenty pounds a week 20 pounds for solid training 21 pounds of 20 pounds out of the 20 pounds I had to pay my tithe two pounds you get it and then I bust past 14 pounds hammer that leave us with 14 plus 2 is 16 4 pounds okay so now I think it was 21 pounds so 14 pounds 5 pounds so now with the 5 pounds I had to eat for 5 days 1 pound a day I'll buy a doner kebab every evening eat doner kebab one every day and I eat let let me tell you something lady every month I paid my two pounds time and it was it was one of the most difficulty because it was my food I was given away it was my food and I was poor I could not I could no repair my shoes my shoes had developed alligator ism do you know alligator ism that the front of the shoe had open like this and I could not repair him and so I used to come to the church and when I got into the church I would just roll my leg I used I would play instruments on stage you know I was playing the piano and also playing that run so my greatest problem was how to get on stage you get it because when I get so all here I jump the dragon I'll just be moving along nobody goofy so but was when I got here the whole thing would just pop in like that so when I got here I would turn on I thought I just lost it I was talking to somebody and I just slide after then I just start to slide to the side because the alligator would open the mouth very wide week after week I would come to check without shoes and then the glitters crisis that came was the pasta cause all the musicians and all the questions I said he would have a video that was okay fine when we went for the meeting he said I have decided that everybody who plays instruments on stage must wear a jacket you know and the time and looked decent and I said Wow because I didn't have one how am I going to get a jacket you know and I was in Big Joe and I how did how to tell that people that I didn't have money I mean I also couldn't say I would die out of shame it was a big crisis I don't even know how I saw that thing I went and I got some pull over I was feeling cold no like in the winter so it doesn't really fit on something and I just managed to be there for and shortly after that I had to also go to an ER two pounds but I paid it if you are faithful with literally be sick with my faithfully two pounds fatal with million pounds we bought our building in London for model million pounds cash cash cash no no credit no mod gate is nothing cash we pay for it and if we splendid million pounds you think we cannot siphon 100,000 pounds out I was Tyson outside half a million pounds of stipend are more Mia if we spend that we spend more more than that every once I will buy the building a man offered me said let's write another figure on the thing instead of writing this writer and I'll sort you out abroad I said you're joking you don't know who you are talking to later on I saw his daughter he said to me he said my father spoke very highly of your third wife then I remember the offer that he made me that I didn't mind him now as far as now presuming let me tell you when God gives you something small to do his watching if all these things are death examination play the organ he's watching you play that John he's watching you instrumentally to come and play the only come to the service at a certain point and they go at a certain point very shallow spiritually they don't do well if I do well spiritually when you appraisals wrapping cables how was i but I love the people and I loved the work and I would die with my money you don't want to spend any money of yours at all why why 29s and often you start to complain you sit down poor little better it wasn't my chair do you think I thought twice about who sketch I was building as I was bringing the people there I will go to their house and bring them with my own money and bring the cup to church one after the other you think I thought to myself I'm building somebody's ministry I'm helping somebody's miss will God help my ministry not for one half second I was just I was just happy to do it I never even thought later on I realized that I was actually helping to do somebody's ministry when you are faithful in that which is another God will give you your own I didn't come to the church to do to father yet I never spot anything in that church I never destruct or distracted or remove anybody from the day I never sought confusion I did my best even we told him that looks become by settled on a second Hospital we bought the first set of nuns and brought it in and played it we helped in whatever way we could help if you are faithful so a person who becomes full-time is somebody who has demonstrated and now the second point faithfulness in a few things on little things whose book is this thank you the next point three I'm giving you 7 a ministry that needs a full-time pastor is a ministry when when you have a ministry that needs a full-time pastor then you can become full-time ok ok can I have an OK please all of you guys who are going to be pastors can I have an OK from you when your ministry needs a full-time pastor then you can become full-time ok until then please don't think about being a full-time pastor ok ok don't think about salary don't think money okay yeah because if you have 17 members in your church we are going to be full-time doing what you can't even visit 17 people in two days okay you visit them on Tuesday visit them on Wednesday that what we do on tests what you don't find it Saturday Sunday Monday Tuesday then the next week you want to visit them again they won't be angry with you Bible says remove thy food from thy neighbor's house lest he be wary of B and hates me you cannot visit people the same people all the time we don't have this is for both us to take of it this has visited the earth once for three and a half years and that was it he's never come back people don't need many visits they need one or two visits and that's it if they will come they will come it's not your visit that will bring them you can't spend all the time going to line somebody that the person was to think what are you after these come for kick and key again and you you tend to visit around lunchtime you tend to visit around suppertime around three time and every time you come to have to send you something are you there oh you've gone home the next one I think when you when your ministry does not need a full-time pastor and you are now full time you become idle and when you are idle oh man you start complaining you start grumbling I don't want anybody to be idle around all my people around me are tired people I want everybody around me to be tired when you are tired you cannot criticize because you sleep quickly before you can set aside everybody around you must be tired what I'm also tired we all think we don't have time to criticize each other than we fall asleep and then we wake up and then we start working again Hayden it's when you are sitting down you're idle what shall I do today where is the pasta I hear you're trouble they did ah Rosalia come I hear pasta travel again have you taught us everywhere that we keep traveling have you gone anyway call John John come in sit down let's discuss something how do you have time to discuss if you don't have anything to do that's why you have time to discuss are you listening to me so we don't want idle hands around everybody must be what tired the world is run by tired man when we get to heaven we'll rest that's why they write when you give rest in peace I travel to die in Zimbabwe because the last time I was in Zimbabwe the pastor told me that now the great the what we call it asymmetry so full that they you don't I read them this will be buried them practically so now we can all right rest in peace rest and study after you work for God's I lost either you have to stand up to for eternity you be standing never so try to dine that Africa don't go to Zimbabwe to die amen alright so you need to keep a few people employed in the church whichever ministry you are so that you can do more with lay people amen then the next one is the next step or how or reason which would take you into full-time ministry as you must have a death you must die to the love for silver you must come to ministry not because you love money what but I said to me I like money I like my and I tell you you there's something wrong with you you have to be saved I like money you know what he said that I was a bit our debit is dead I do like money what is that I was there's a lot of money is the root of all evil a that you are saying I like what in other words you will say I am a big root of all evil is my life so gradually this brother was cured of his laughs over today he's a missionary full-time here he has been cured of that love for money so it is possible and Ecclesiastes chapter 5 verse 10 says he that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver nor he that loveth abundance with increase in other words when people really like money do you see no matter how much money you give them they are never satisfied they are never okay they're never happy you can keep on increasing their salary increasing and they're never okay with it never know you know the greatest thieves are rich people huh you didn't know the biggest thieves in this world are rich people when I was in second issue there was a guy who was very clever so one day we're going to write our end of a level exam so I went to his room and I saw a level a level a level I thought what is this he said oh this is the question that is coming I said that what he said this is the exam question for tomorrow how did you get it is that all leave it to thee so I promise that this guy was somehow been able to get to know the questions of the major exam we are going to write and I novel because he was such a clever person and he was very good anyway but that's why I let the lesson that it is people who have already who are even greater tips do you see it sometimes not poor people who are thieves but it's people who have already who are thieves so the fact that you pay somebody well does not mean that he is going to be happy do you understand what I'm saying so don't think that if you come and work in the church and the salary is good that people are going to be happy with you and they are going to praise you all that you may pay that over the moon they still would not be happy and I've had people like that and when I I want the other gala that he started to complain teacher this and that you know what I would have been Ellen if I was here one of any I that I mean he's lucky that he resigned he's lucky that innocent was out of suction because do you know what I would have ended I was a doctor in America should I start to talk about that how much I would a friend you are talking what you would have and what we would all have end you know what we would have end why are you coming to complain what our that end I would have end this if I was this out of happy mm then stay as a lay pastor and don't come into the full time you say stop talking rubbish amen is it a good message zigu the next one is a total surrender for all possibilities amen all the only five points okay I thought I was giving you seven you must be ready for anything when you want to come into full-time ministry stunts to your feet everybody how many are blessed with the lay people and the ministry harder yes total surrender for all possibilities Amen when you are full-time you must be ready for anything what do you think hello hello are you ready for anything yeah and you know one of the ways you can find out when people are not ready for everything just send them somewhere one guy he came to me and he said I want to be working full-time in the ministry I said are you sure he said I'm sure I said I don't think so so I said my brother you are not ready he said I'm ready this is all I want to do so I employed him and he was working in the church and after a while I said no this guy something came out that his heart is not in the minister but I didn't know that the Lord kept on pumping me about the guy said do something about the guy so one day I came just two weeks ago I came to him I said brother you know this town on the way from here to here he said yeah I know it is that I come from that area - okay I thought I have decided to send you there as a missionary town in Ghana one of these towns will again those towns in Ghana so I said are you ready to go he said yeah I'll go so I thought that the matter was over I was happy well we're going to have another missionary going somewhere three days later the peasant he was working with called me she said this brother who you said want to go his he came to me in the office and I thought What did he say he said let me tell you the truth it was the truth the truth is that I want to go to America this is what I want to do it reality that I was Abed so now he came that Jack that that the cat was led out of the out of the out of the the bag is that also yeah the cat was that otherwise I looked at truth is that I want to go to America and say please can you help me to go to America I said all along you've said you want to work in the ministry we are ready to do it is not really the case when I send you to this town now you have come with the real thing that is in your heart that you want to work you want to go to America tell me from the beginning that I want to go to a mag and I'll help you to go to America but don't tell yourself Allah when you are in photon village you must be ready for all possibility and that is where we see those who are not real when you start putting them in all possibilities then you start to see ah now I'm ready but not for this I'm ready that not for that ah I'm ready but not for this ah out of like if you sent me as a missionary to Canada but you all decided to Congo as another story I would have out of like it you send as a missionary to Massachusetts but did you say Koko brother Villa did you say Rwanda do you know here genocide in Rwanda as you know ahead of the Ugandan Christian rebels of Christian I mean something killing people in Uganda and you want to send me to that village so are you ready for everything my brother Mack all possibility are you an Indian are you in this church yeah you can go to Chatsworth aren't you you look like somebody who fit in there so he said oh praise the lavas God I like to do each other now supposing I said now no we want to start a missionary outreach in India okay I want people go to Bombay and when you get to Bombay you take left and right and you go deeper inside and that one you may not come as a pastor you know there's something I haven't told you yet so what is it oh well I was planning to do some course in school and I wanted to go to university and this and that and whenever when we're sending you to chat with you were ready to work for or even especially for salary but now that Bombay Calcutta and other places have come up I say pastor I would like to see we do usually about substances but I see you rising in the ministry hallelujah no I'm ready are you ready for everything how many are ready for everything and I just want to say finally also that the full-time ministry is the ultimate aim to be full-time in the ministry that the best means that's how God ordained the ministry to be he intended that those that preach the gospel should live from the gospel amen so starting out as a layperson is actually a step amen on the way to becoming and to do what you can eventually do because ladies and gentlemen if you are faithful with the late ministry God can bless you with the full-time ministry event Christian and what's your name Carla are you also from Chatsworth are you Indian but what is the little thing on your nose here is not for Indians is there not an Indian sign here collect sign it's a what fashion all right but it is not an Indian fact can I have one can I have one for my nose please get me one after church okay one or two I'll take it as a present to somebody amen what do you think is it a good idea we are making it we are making it we are going to do well I say we are going to do well how many believe that we are going to do well do you believe you are going to do well well going to be ministers I know all of you are going to be minutes because you only put your hand you would all have come here but we can't have everybody on stage so I just have some of them here and some of you here you get it so that we encourage ourselves in the Lord I'll be so happy to see you ministering one day a pastor and you have congregation church members and your ministry and you're carrying on you know wouldn't it be a nice thing huh the otherwise no you have a life you don't do likewise would you like a wife get a wife you didn't want to mind somebody she didn't want to marry you not yet oh you have somebody you're going to my yeah it's good and you a married man and you guys know marriage don't think of it now okay stay pure get your hands and thank him for the lay ministry thank you for the calling thank him for the grace thank you for the blessing o blessed be the go back to 6 No I want us to take a break for five minutes and then we are going to come back for our last little session before we close I'm sure soon for the evening amen so you are brick or five minutes so a my culture we mean the way things are done around here amen and the fellowship has its own culture are you there are you there and there is an anointing on every ministry so you see there are different ways of doing the same thing and somehow we have to choose one particular way amen and when we get that way right and we all support it things will work I give an example pastor Oliver that's a Robin the Oliver is not always right one day one of my partners told me we're discussing Sunday he said to me you are not always right you know but there was no need for him to say that because it is true that I am not always right how can I be always right who is always right nobody is always right we are all wrong many times amen so even though we are all wrong many times we do need to get to the place where we accept the leadership of one person we cannot have two captains in a ship you cannot have two heads on your baby how many would like to have a baby with two heads one will cry man no another okay yes and two heads on one baby nobody would like to have that we all want to have one head one captain amen can I have an amen and we need to accept that one person and only one person we can be a head of something and this is a difficulty that many people have we cannot accept that one person even though he's human and even though his laden with mistakes and errors is the determined leader of the church this is difficult for many of us to accept but we have to accept because that is the way God has ordained things to be can I have an amen can I have a better amen so to catch the spirit of the ministry all right you must adopt the vision of the house amen I'm now preaching from this book also megachurch you must catch the vision of the house what is the vision of this house huh what is the vision of lighthouse chapel what is the vision of TD jakes whichever house you belong to catch the vision if the vision he has prosperity then just catch the vision and flow in the prosperity but don't be in this stage and trying to let the vision be the cross of Jesus Christ when the pastor's vision is prosperity if you don't like the prosperity vision go to another Church where the vision is the cross but don't stay in the prosperity Church and speak against the prosperity message and fight the prosperity message from the back are you listening to me so catch the vision of the house number to catch the principles I'm giving you the things you must catch and I'm preaching from page 98 in the megachurch the principles but if you are going to be loyal you need to have the principles of the house for instance in our church one of the principles we teach a lot about our loyalty the principles of loyalty one day somebody said to me I cannot stay in your church because I cannot be loyal to you he told me he said I find it difficult to be loyal to you and I said well then just go out of the church do you understand and he went out of the tragedy before I told him to go after the church cause he in self realized that the culture of the house was a culture of loyalty another counter but another pastor came from another church to join our church and we wasn't a pastor then and he came one day he said to me asking something about your chest and I said what is it he said your church is airtight I said what do you mean by airtight and he said it's not easy to criticize you in the church you can't visit there's nobody in the office who is criticizing you we don't have people who are complaining and people who are saying things about there is nothing like that here he said I'm surprised and he said because the chair that I came from you know they are always talking about the senior pastor after church they'll be discussing him saying this saying that criticizing him talking about what he said talking about his wife talking about this about his car and there's always a discussion about something to do with the church and to do with the pasta but when he came into our church he said I have seen your churches airtight how many was an airtight church we don't want to be able to admit the ass of disloyalty into the church anywhere can I have an event Satan will get in and be busted your church he will spoil your church through disloyalty so our church has a culture it has it has gone beyond a teaching and has become a culture which we intend to maintain of loyalty and flowing and believing and accepting and trusting as against criticizing analyzing criticizing commenting speaking negatively about things and people in our church there is a culture of not saying bad things about anybody it's not only not saying bad things about me but there is a culture of nothing that is about anybody you will really get me good I'm sure I've done it before but as far as I know to say something bad about any pasta or anybody who is doing something know why why should I say I mean how difficult it is to do the work of work look at somebody who is trying to do something Oh what what should I say about him there's nothing like that I don't have a meeting here and then when I go somewhere I say something else I don't like that we need a culture of loyalty one day I had a friend and we had a meeting of some pastors then after I was talking with this other pasta and he said to me do you think that this guy is your friend for nothing and I said what do you mean do I think that he's your friend he was that guy who was talking to my friend and that persistent we're all friends but this other guy had gone ah he was telling me he said you think that guy's your friend for nothing I said what do you mean by that I said then he gave me a prophet and prove it and the Prophet he gave me was that cockamamie does not jump on the loan in the afternoon without a reason Coco Dana you know what Coco ladies ever say coco de coco they need a frog and he said a frog does not jump on the loan in the afternoon without a good reason hey that me or a toad or a frog it's like you don't normally see a frog jumping on a green grass in the daytime you see it in the night moving somewhere but if you see a coordinate jumping freely in the afternoon then there is a reason so he was trying to say to me that this guy is your friend because of what he can get from you because of this and madam that is why he's associating with you and that's why is your friend by it's not so I felt that what he had said was on mine so I went I told her that was loyalty does not withhold information will come to that if we have time so I told neither but look at what this month is about you and I told me I cannot allow because when we say something is enters your mind so as I'm with the gang I'll be thinking that this is Coco Dini so I didn't want any such thoughts to be my mind so I told it look at what this person said that Coco Denny is jumping in the afternoon on the lawn [Laughter] so my friend was found out that I had told him he was very angry why should I say coke Adina is jumping on the lawn in the afternoon he was just talking to me why should I say the coconut is jumping in the afternoon on the lawn and I said my friend if you like say another one of your progress I won't tell him again from that time he was not my friend again I don't need people who have sarcastic comments about everything people who have terrible statements and some family there are some people whose the amount are like mine one day a person was coming to fish my eyes I have to talk as a really stories anything but I was happy to officiate of yet another pastor's wedding and then this part I think is the same confident guy you know he was talking you know one day I told this guy said look the way you are talking is not right I said one now I go we were in his office all of us talking friendly Christian we've come out look at what you are saying then he said oh I wouldn't like this person to appreciate my women I said why he said when he officiated so so sweaty I got people have terms like mine and when they say something about somebody it's sort nasty now when you have such people in a church as part of your pastor Osteen after you've had a nice fellowship with them and you are going and it nights are throwing backbiting knife into your back what is that can you imagine I have finished talking with but Oliver I'm going on then I'm going with my passes and I'm saying bad things about pass Oliver so he's like this don't mind him decide I mean what kind of evil is that I don't believe in that I don't like such things I don't want it though I can't be your friend if that's how you talk I don't have friends like that watch how people talk about people it's not a good character to have somebody who says bad things just about anybody you meet assistants that talk about Damien so the name is mr. Cox is what is that mystical and if you like in a way so mystical same rules as what what are you saying then you talk about some other he's like this so you wouldn't like this person to officiate your net I said hi he said when you appreciate that somebody's worthy and he went to be filled in bed if you failed in that hope I say what are you saying the person's filled in that because but it has well I hope he at this wedding it was a nice thing to say if you feel in that's when you will get but above all how is it a person so you have such negative things to say about everything and when you join a house and you join a church there is a counter you have to flew with the contact in the culture is loyalty flew with it is the principle that I thought there are loyalty flew with it amen alright the next thing the philosophy of the house the general trend of thinking you have to flow within the standards of the house you get it what are the standards that have been set by the pasta by the church accept them don't try to create your own standards now some of the standards of the house does you have the doctrines of the heart the things that are taught you know don't try to be different why do you want to be different amen why do you want to be you see it's out of the pride of creating something new that causes us to try to be different I'm trying to be different try to do what's right I think what's right is the same as what somebody's already done just do it there's no need to create something new I'm not saying you have to do everything as what somebody else but if that is the right thing they'll say I do it as he is doing it because of the right thing but don't be motivated by trying to come up with something new all the time amen just throw a mess the procedures of the house if we say we are having a meeting or a shepherd camp and everybody might be here that's the procedure I love my church when I'm having weekday service on do I expect every pastor to be there you cannot not come to different and even my pastors who outside I expect them to listen to what I preached on every everything everything I preach is on the internet after I preach every time every Tuesday service and I have an impartation service on its own the if and you can download it if you were interested every Tuesday and episode you can get somebody download it on a CD you can and I expect my passage to listen to because my Tuesday service am i in packages I'm talking mostly to the pastors and I strike them to listen if I rather they come in I expect them to be there only not people slipping in and out slippery elm and slippery Suzy
