Her "Dude..." serious is really helpful. I also like that she didn't get started as a makeup artist with traditional training; the way she explains things is super helpful to beginners like myself.

I shared this in a comment earlier, but I figured I’d make a post because I’ve been meaning to share it for a while. :^) She made another really good one on eyeliner that’s totally worth watching.

She's seriously one of my favorites. If anyone can suggest anyone else like her I'm hear for it, because I can't stand most YT makeup artists because their "personalities" are just too much for me.

ok today we're talking about blush placement my name is Alex if you don't know I gotta say it sometimes so it's kind of insane how the placement of a specific product or a certain like makeup whatever changes your face completely it's kind of obvious but it's also kind of like you don't really realize it or you don't recognize it until you actually make that change and then you're like how come no one told me I was a fox like god damn so today I'm going to be showing you how lush changes the shape of your face I do have like a basic base down concealer a tiny bit of bronzer and foundation i'm gonna be using cream blush for this purpose so that I can like remove it and not look crazy all day let's just get right into it so the blush that I'm gonna be using is the fenty cream blush from what did I just say fenty cream blush this is in the shade petal poppin number 2 which is when I first looked at that I was like I don't know about that color but it's actually really nice I do like they're cool there's something in here I do like their cream blushes in case you were wondering but this is going to apply to cream powder doesn't matter whatever so you're gonna wanna start off with looking after the shape of your face this is all obviously going to be preference where ever you want to put it and whatever you like but just keep in mind that making tiny little changes depending on your face shape like your specific Ziva can you play with this instead I can't remember what I was saying keep in mind your face shape basically so I always use her as an example but Christy Teegan has these like really big round cheeks and when she smiles it's just like you know what I mean like two tennis balls same with Jaclyn hill has like when she smiles she has these like very round cheeks and they like to enhance that that's where they place their blush where they like even Jacqueline will like highlight all over her cheeks to really like enhance that area I don't really have that kind of base shape as you can see my cheekbone is like here if you look up so the highest point of my cheekbone is like this area right here so when I smile like it does get a little around but you can see from this angle it's like kind of flatter it's not this big round like thing so when I place my blush in this area I'm going to show you what that looks like I kind of feel like it ends up dragging down my face it also kind of brings focus to the center of my face and it just kind of makes me look like old I don't know I'm gonna be using this angled brush from morphe to apply it this doesn't have a name it's from their black and gold collection but there's a bunch of brushes out there like this I'm sure you could find elf so I'm just going to pick up the blush like this obviously you can use your fingers this isn't about application necessarily it's more like placement so I'm going to place this on the apples of my cheeks so right in the center alright I'm hoping this shows up enough now this placement is fine you know it's ok um it doesn't look terrible obviously the more you put down the more it's going to kind of draw your eye to that area but for me personally I'm not a huge fan of it and I'm gonna show you what how I actually wear my blush which I have kind of experimented back and forth but I actually now kind of like to place it in this area so I place that much higher on my cheekbone I'm kind of putting it where I would highlight but not just up high but kind of like going into my contour kind of just like this whole spot so let me let me show you what I like about this technique is that it adds a lift to my face so I sort of start on like if I turn that's like the highest point of my cheekbone I just start up there so I'm focusing the majority of the pigment up here and then as I blend all kind of like tap it in and out sort of diffusing it this is very simple so here it wait now I got confused okay so I got all turned around so this is where I place it on my cheek like right on the center of my cheek which is fine it's kind of cute right but this is how I like to wear it I like to wear it up here so that as I turn my face you can kind of see that it adds like more of a lift to my face it kind of creates this like halo glow as if there's like a pretty color coming from this side I've decided that that's what I prefer I think that it looks most flattering on higher cheekbones because again when I put it like this I just kind of feel like especially when I smile it ends up dragging this part of my face down a little bit whereas this side adds more of that like lift because I really do like to accentuate that sort of like cat eye situation everything is like you know what I mean I think that's the most flattering on my face so it does make a really big difference when I went to the makeup forever masterclass with Ariel makeup by Ariel he was talking about how he does makeup he enjoys putting blush in this area of the cheek up a little bit higher like she likes to bring it like up right into the under I like this because he says that it creates like more of a youthful glow which I can understand I have done that in the past so you know that can look pretty but I feel like this placement is a little bit more high-fashion just kind of like helps to accentuate my cheekbones that's it guys super quick but I just wanted to show you the difference between these two placements you know what now what I'm looking at it this does look very like youthful and cute on camera but when I look in the mirror I don't like it so I don't know whenever I film these videos I always learn something new and I always end up changing my makeup routine and then I'm like why did I even do that video because now everything that I think has completely changed but luckily it's a good exercise for me to be constantly like trying new things and changing so hopefully this helps you a little bit maybe do this like do your makeup and just kind of like try on different sides one evening when you're bored and yeah I hope this helps PS venti cream blushes ace love them alright guys in the comments down below please tell me what you want to see next cuz I'm running out of ideas that's it I gotta go
