Duck Hunting 2018: Full Immersion

morning this is going to be curls coming back baby freaking smash man hey folks what accounts I'm your guy you know the street baby did it the Hunts not gonna hit because of it boy this is a neat area back in here I'll tell you what we are way back in here by ourselves there's no other hunters around having heard a single shot seen the birds and seeing the sunlight just being quiet you just have to stop and appreciate just being there we want the immersive experience we want totally immersion in the environment is what we want I will call our hunt style full immersion right so today's our first day using the big boat the old black dance I'll be fun so fumbles and I scouted yesterday and we found a little timber hole kick several hundred miles out of it so if they come into this it is gonna be crazy fun Oh ready [Music] well we are all set up a bit of time to spare what's your prediction on today fiction today yeah it's a tough one to predict yeah it is how many we kicked how many miles you think we kicked out of here a bunch a couple other a couple hundred just out of this little timber hole I'm gonna say but I want them right in the dunes I don't want any this plant over the treetops house and we've got a quacking ah lotsa quack and lots of flying over I think you kept going the other way [Laughter] [Music] you know I like shot a Drake well he's 130 away to his what we are global what a golden boy it has not been with us cuz he's off on a mission trip well he actually got back last night but he went down to Guatemala for our mission trip so I can't wait haven't over you can see flooded pools back in there that are frozen when this sunlight comes up and hits back in here man it is gonna be gorgeous I don't know if you watch listen to the duck gun podcast or not but we've had several conversations about the state of waterfowl hunting and social media and those kind of things and certainly I would be a part of the social media aspect of it and and kind of the feeling among some people in waterfowling is that the desire to shoot limits and the representation of piles is a very detrimental thing to waterfowl hunting because it makes the emphasis just about shooting limits where people that are just picking up the sport if they're not making a pile then they're not really pleased and happy and it feel like something's been wrong but I'll tell you what we are way back in here by ourselves there's no other hunters around haven't heard a single shot we got that one Mallard Drake the sunlights coming up as wonderful as it would be to shoot a limit today you just have to stop and appreciate just being there and I'm not gonna rag on people that want to hunt with groups of eight ten whatever but I can tell you what that's not for me where it's just the two of us in here there's no hunters around for miles there's ducks moving I mean if we shoot a couple each it's just about the immersion of impacting yourself completely in the environment and seeing the birds and seeing the sunlight and just being quiet and I think when you when you get into just worrying about limits and you know going out there with ten fifteen guys seven guys whatever I think you lose that immersion and if that is the type of hunting that you're excited about that's fine it's just that's not for us not for us we want the immersive experience we want totally immersion in the environment is what we want and you can only get that really with small groups because anything above four starts feeling like a social gathering and and you lose it a little you lose the solitude a little bit you know yeah so full immersion I'll call our hunt style full immersion right right they came back we were cleaning up because when they came back [Applause] get it yeah I mean we want them lower than that but I mean come on right I know we technically want them backpedaling but I'm not passing that up there we go hauling butt yep oh yeah I got a little chef going me and my fumble so we like our chef boyardee he know you better shut your mouth talking trash on the chef you wanna get em I take the Suzie the Suzie land it right here the Suzie landed right there yeah she's right there stand up take her when she flushes she dead well that was nice that was an awesome decoy wish she could have got the Drake but it was an awesome decoy yeah do you remember that hunt when you were making soup and you kept sampling all my soup until you sampled it all pretty much into your mouth I'm making the soup today hey yeah I better not kiss you see the difference is in that cat your case that was actually my soup that I was sharing [Laughter] there may be some sampling that takes place yeah that was awesome well I did not have I did not have I did not hit the record button after all the crap I've given you red circle record literally it's been that way since the 80s on VCRs you've owned a lot of VCRs he's been very naughty tears them every ever since you got old enough to have TVs VCRs never Nigel get a switch and switch your dad the report has been the red circle that's never changed it's the red circle okay fast yeah that's my first time not in the record but take a picture you press it that all happened so quickly press in point that's the first time I've made that screw up I want you to get your butt out there and get my how many how many teal do you think are in that plot 15 I was looking for him to come this way and then that was awesome hopefully the GoPro got it's on and running so you know let's give a little tour with if I don't fall down and ruin my camera here be a little better tour of what this little sluice trip looks like so there it is it's just full of smart weed underneath it and then it goes down the other way too so just a little Slough I'll see as many birds as we've been shooting this year this is one of my favorites if we could get I mean I'm happy if we don't get anything else right now but we could finish this off and shoot four or five more birds there would be no doubt this would be my favorite day of the year this is just such a cool place just old me and all fumbles this is a wonderful day well there's we got so far three Drake's a hand in a green winged teal and now you get to celebrate with a yummy snack crush your cravings we dare you your being dared something you really need to be dared to do you better put it down then Oh [Laughter] [Applause] that was a sweet decoy yeah I could have taken this Susie I know I don't know if you heard me I said wait for Drake I like that me too hey we predicted three each not me - nice job all right I'm up you're the camera boy circling group I think I'm glad I killed one but I think I was a little impatient I just think that when I pulled up I think they were gonna settle right in here oh yeah he pulled up to some bottom right here they came up Fida waited I think another I hate to be I mean that was awesome a whole day was awesome but I think if I had just waited a second longer they would have settled but that was still awesome that was awesome still awesome really awesome [Music]
