that a human being can do that do you ever stop and think when you watch my Channel or when you watch one of your favorite drummers um that's you know not through my channel it's amazing that people can do this this is the highest form of art trust me in the moment art in real time three people Crea an art on the stage look it's one thing to work on your [Music] Craft um to the point where you've got a lot of ability a lot of ability you could be talking about the basist here guitarist or the drummer here it's one thing to to work on your craft that much and you develop what we call in the industry chops you develop chops and facility on your instrument then it's a whole other world to be able to access it not on click this is not on click cuz the time is all over the place they're doing all different kinds of movements and it's improvised music within a framework of course we'll talk about that another time um that's the whole other level to be able to access those chops access those that facility sorry with freedom freedom is the word you are searching for when you think what do I want to get you know with my guitaring you know what do I want to get to my drumming what do I want to get to my Bas plan what do I want to get to keyboard you know where is this going what sort of what's the what's that you know pot of gold at the end of all this you know what are we hoping to get it's probably freedom freedom to be able to express yourself you know just just to like no filter Marco minimum no filter between what he's Hearing in the moment how he wants to react to it his musicality what he wants to play it's just flows out so effortlessly he's smiling and laughing conversational this comping and conversational threeway interplay on the stage it is absolutely stunning I don't know I what other words you can use I mean like I think if I could see one act in the world at the moment it would be the aristocrats this is this is on a different planet I said it's one thing to develop those chops over years and years of study and practice and lessons and re evaluating yourself and struggle and you know and then you get that road you need that Road time that mileage on your on your ax and you develop you know this public plane ability which is different to playing in your bedroom let's be honest uh that's what she said and then you know this whole other thing of being able to access it then find bandmates who are at the same level and then a whole other level where you can interact with them because you're speaking that same language and not only are you ing freedom and facilitating yourself as a group that interplay in the group like you say this I'm saying this back to you and I'm accompanying what you guys just said with this and I'm going to throw this out there this word and you're going to bounce back and say this think of it like a conversation with your friends uh maybe old school friends that you're still friends with think of that cuz You' go back so far you've got all these in jokes you know the teachers you know the people uh you had mutual friends you had possibly Mutual enemies you played Sports you've got all of these long strands these long branches that Branch off into all this content all this Mutual I'll use the word content that you can all access together and the conversation it just bounces around there's never you know when I'm with my old school friends it doesn't matter if I haven't seen them for 5 years 10 years 15 years we've got something to say and there's no Lull in the conversation you know it's just bum bum bum bum bum you don't even think about it there's no thoughts going on you're just reacting and um conversing with them that's what's going on here okay I'm going to have to leave it
