of everything here shampoo conditioner leave-in conditioner oils a scalp treatment some styling products so if you are interested in picking up some affordable hair care products you're looking to refresh your routine and you don't feel like spending an arm and a leg that i've got you and we're going to jump into that in a second before we do that please don't forget to give this video a thumbs up subscribe to my channel if you haven't already click on that notification bell and drop a comment below letting me know a drugstore haircare product that you have been enjoying recently thank you so much for doing all those things it really helps to support me with youtube algorithm so i appreciate you so much for doing that and if you need anything for me at all check out my description box below i have lightroom preset filters for editing your instagram photos my spf merch timestamps discount codes links to all the products that i'll be talking through today and links to my favorite beauty products of all time all right let's talk drugstore hair care all right let's talk about these products in order of application like we're kind of doing a drugstore haircare routine together so this is the scalp serum that i have it's from the inky list and you can now pick up the inkulas hair care products on sephora's website i don't know if they carry any of their products in stores but previously you could not get the inkulas hair care products in the us so that is exciting that we have these available now so this is the salicylic acid exfoliating scalp treatment this says that it's intended to exfoliate the scalp to minimize itchiness minimize excess oil remove flakes and improve irritation it does so by using a couple standout ingredients the first is two percent salicylic acid which is a really great ingredient to be on the lookout for if you deal with any of those concerns both in scalp serums like this and in shampoos i always love to see that in shampoos the other ingredient is called fluidy pure definitely not it's proven an ingredient to salicylic acid it's a trademarked ingredient that was created to improve scalp irritation dandruff and oiliness so those are really the two ingredients in this that are supposed to improve those scalp issues this also does have panthenol which is a nice ingredient for scalp health overall it calms its soothes and it hydrates so nice addition to this so this is something that's intended to be applied before shampoo and they recommend leaving it on for at least 10 minutes but how i have actually been using this is overnight so i will apply this all over my scalp i will go ahead and sleep in it then the next day i will shampoo that out i've had no issues with irritation or anything like that as a result if this had a really high amount of exfoliating acids then i may be more wary of that but since it's just two percent salicylic acid i thought that i would try that out and i've been loving using it in that way it's a very watery serum so it's something that i don't know is easy to just throw on before bed it's not like a really thick oil that you have to worry about getting all over your pillow even though i do that too i go in with thick oils so i have been loving this because it's really been helping to relieve itchiness on my scalp i've told you guys this in several videos before that i kind of just have one problem area at the back of my head kind of like at the top of my neck very prone to itchiness there flakiness it can be really uncomfortable and it kind of abs and flows and i feel like it's really been flaring up a lot lately so i have been applying this the night before i shampoo every single week for the past several weeks i will apply it all over my scalp but i'm focusing it more on that area that's a concern for me and it really really does help to relieve itch which is amazing because there's nothing more annoying than feeling like you have to constantly scratch your scalp so whether you deal with something similar to me make sure to confirm with your dermatologist of course that you don't need like medication or anything but if not you have a similar concern to me this is great or if you do just have all over kind of a tight itchy scalp i think that you will really enjoy this the only problem that i've had with this is the packaging because it's a really watery serum this has just been super difficult to use and spread evenly on my scalp but i saw that they have actually repackaged this they also have this available and a larger size now which was necessary too like this is so tiny you would go through this so quickly so now on sephora's website you can pick this up for 14.99 in a five ounce bottle whereas this one is 1.7 ounces like so tiny and that has a nozzle on it so you can easily apply that to the scalp so when i get through this i will definitely be picking that up because this is just enough next is another pre shampoo treatment and it is an oil so you guys ask me all the time what i recommend for pre shampoo oil treatments because as you guys know i also do that every single week the night before i wash my hair and i will sleep in that as well as a way to protect my ends before i shampoo and i've always said i don't think you need to break the bank in this category because it's something that you're going to be shampooing out the next day so i am all for an affordable oil when it comes to a pre shampoo treatment oil but my top recommendation is to look for an oil that has coconut oil in it that ingredient is amazing when you use it as a pre shampoo treatment there's tons of benefits to using coconut oil one of which is that it helps to prevent protein loss which is one of the things that contributes to damaged hair that ends up breaking off unfortunately so if you want to know more about all the benefits that coconut oil has the pros and the cons i will list a deep dive video that i have on that ingredient below for you but let's get to the product recommendation this is from ogx and this is their damage remedy plus coconut miracle oil where they're penetrating oil it says extra strength on the top so this is a very basic oil there's not much going on here but it has coconut oil which is why i love it so it has a couple ingredients that are really really soft and silky and slippery which i think is great for a pre-shampoo oil because by that time i hit day six my hair is pretty tangly it really needs some extra love to make sure that it's not getting so snarled that it breaks so i like that it has ingredients like psychopathic hello cyclopentasiloxane okay cyclotractor siloxane and dimethoconal which is a type of the silicone so those ingredients plus the addition of coconut oil make this an awesome pre-shampoo oil treatment i would definitely recommend checking it out all right let's move on to shampoo this is the nature lab tokyo perfect repair shampoo and it's not technically a drugstore brand but you can pick up nature lab tokyo in stores at ulta and the brand is very affordable so this shampoo is 15 which is great nature lab tokyo highlights a lot of really interesting ingredients in their products i do actually have an entire review on the nature lab tokyo perfect repair line and a couple extra products from them i will list that below if you haven't seen that yet and you want to hear my thoughts on all those ingredients in depth i won't dive into that here but they really do focus on the use of plant stem cells so this has bamboo stem cells in it keratin argan oil and a lot of other plant oils that are going to be really nice and nourishing for the hair like mango oil marula oil prickly pear oil a dance needed digital oil and a lot more that i cannot really pronounce and even though this is a sulfate free shampoo i wouldn't say it's free of deep cleaning ingredients because the primary cleansing agent is an anionic surfactant called sodium c1416 olefin sulfonate and that is an ingredient that is known to provide a deeper cleanse than some other cleansing agents but i love that because then we know that this is going to clean our hair that's the point of shampoo i really like this as an option for a shampoo because while it does have those nice nourishing oils to help to offset any potential stripping effects of the cleansing ingredients it still is a very lightweight kind of gel like formula it's not creamy it's not dense it doesn't feel oily and while those formulas can be great for dry scalps they're not ideal for oily scalps or for anyone that is an infrequent washer that really does just need buildup removed so this does a great job at removing build up removing oils but not for me leaving my hair feeling really dry or stripped or anything like that so i think that that's great and the other thing that i've really enjoyed about using this is that it does help to preserve how clean my scalp looks as the week goes on so i don't have to worry about my roots looking super greasy only a couple days after washing when i use this my hair does last several days before i need dry shampoo so awesome option for infrequent washers for oily scalps i don't think this would be stripping if you have a dry scalp but you may just prefer something that is a little bit creamier or you could apply an oil before you use this to make sure that you're nourishing that scalp okay wait i think i said in the intro of this video that i have a conditioner and i do not i don't have a conditioner or a hair mask because i've given you guys tons of recommendations for affordable conditioners and hair masks in previous videos so i'll list some of my favorites from the drugstore below that i have talked about before and i will include the videos that i talked about those products in in the description box below as well because i have some other awesome products here that fall into different categories that i really wanted to highlight so normally we would condition and do a hair mask in the shower and then jump out pretend that we did that now let's move on to leave-in conditioner first is a leave-in conditioning spray this is the l'oreal ever pure sulfate-free 21 in one color caring spray it says it's a multi-benefit perfecting leave-in and i'm super excited about this because i was telling you guys in a video where i talked about things that i'm dying to see in 2022 and dying to see stop in 2022 that i feel like we really need more leave-in conditioners at the drugstore especially leave-in conditioning sprays feels like we are neglected in those categories when it comes to affordable products so i was really excited to see this launch from l'oreal this has some really awesome ingredients in it like coconut oil and almond dimethicone ammo dimethicone is amazing for damaged hair and also has other conditioning ingredients like quaats and silicones so this is not only great for conditioning the hair after you wash it but it will really help to detangle it definitely does have a little bit of an oily slip that i think makes it awesome for detangling with that said though just be careful not to overdo it with this product i think yeah coconut oil is the second ingredient so you just don't want to go in with too much otherwise it will start to look like you have some build up on the hair it's looking a little greasy so a little goes a long way here this also does provide 450 degree heat protection but knowing that it has that kind of oily feel i would not recommend applying this towards the top of your head so you may want to use a lighter weight spray for that but this is awesome for the lengths and ends of the hair so really nice leave in conditioner i'm hoping that we see more from the drugstore this year because i haven't really seen much else next is another leave-in conditioner but this one is a cream i personally always like to use some sort of spray first and then either a cream or an oil to make sure that i'm deeply conditioning my hair and that i'm really taming flyaways any split ends that i have towards the end of my hair that is something that i always do on wash day have i done a post wash day like blow dry leave-in routine i don't know if i have if you're interested in that let me know in the comments below i could definitely do that but this is the eva nyc satin dream smoothing leave-in cream i was like what does this even say it does it says it smooths fights frizz and hydrates this has some amazing ingredients in there that are really going to condition and nourish the hair add nice softness and shine not that i'm surprised i feel like eva nyc is such an underrated brand they have some amazing products some of the standout ingredients in this include shea butter castor oil poppy seed oil flax seed oil grape seed oil cram oil squalling and amino acids incredible i love that this has a really nice soft silky feel and i think it does a great job at just kind of smoothing the ends of my hair and making them look really really nice and soft and healthy and conditioned same kind of thing for me here as this spray i don't want to use too much product or it can just look too heavy in my hair so a little bit goes a long way here even though it's not a really thick buttery cream it's still something where i feel like you don't need much to see nice benefit and i think that's everything i have to say here great little leave-in conditioner the only thing i almost forgot that i'm not obsessed with is the smell of this i can't figure out what this reminds me of is it hemp oil maybe that's it i don't know for sure it's not terrible it just doesn't smell amazing which is a bummer because some eva nyc products smell really nice and this is just not my personal favorite but that's okay i can look past it because it's really nice aside from that next up is the nature lab tokyo perfect shine oil mist so this is another product that i did include in that nature lab tokyo review and i am obsessed with this you guys know i love a good oil mist i feel like it's such an amazing way to incorporate oils into your hair care routine without having to worry about them really building up on the hair weighing the hair down and or making your hair look really greasy and streamy because you can do that easily with an oil that you like pump out of a tube or i don't know pour out of a jar even things like that you can often go overboard easily and then you're like well i'm screwed now until i wash my hair again you're so much less likely to have that issue with a mist because of the way it comes out of that mister so some of the nice ingredients in this include hydrolyzed collagen and keratin argan oil mango oil and again like the shampoo tons of other plant-based oils and ingredients that i can't pronounce for the life of me so lots of good stuff in here too and this is something that i like to use in a couple different ways one of the ways is like i was saying in combination with some sort of leave-in spray on wash day or my personal favorite way is to use this midweek to recondition before i do my overnight heatless waves i think that this just adds such pretty softness and shine again without it looking like i have too much product on my hair because at that point i already do have too much product on my hair that's built up throughout the week i don't want a really heavy oil sitting on my ends so this is perfect just do a little bit and it really brings my hair back to life next i have a couple sticks this is so random for me that i have two in this video but these are both great and they serve different purposes so the first is something that i saw on tick tock of course it is the is this brand t-i-g-i or tg i don't know t-i-g-i-t-g bed head hair stick for cool people is literally what it says on the front of this so this says that it is for soft pliable hold that creates texture and they recommend applying this from roots through your ends that's not how i use it how i like to use this is for taming flyaways i was just trying to twist this and that's not how it works it just pushes up like that okay now so we kind of have a theme going here you don't want to overuse this product either or this will look really just greasy and dirty on the scalp area but if you just do a tiny bit at the roots like this where you have baby hairs flyaways this really helps to tame them down and hold them in place which i love so a higher end product that i really love for that purpose that you guys have heard me talk about before is the way matte pomade so if that sounded interesting to you but you didn't want to spend that much money on a styling product like that then this is a more affordable option that i think does the job really well too and the other stick why do i call it a stick they're like balm sticks i guess the other balm i have is the kristen s anytime anywhere recovery balm so on the back of this she talks about a few different ways that she recommends using it one being to apply to dry or damaged hair that needs kind of some restoration and she talked about it was like on the box it's not on here but how she likes to apply that on her ends and then sleep in it overnight i don't really use it in that way because i'll just do my overnight oils but the other way she talks about using this is to just make the hair look sleeker to tame flyaways in styled white i was going to say in style hairstyles good one abby in hairstyles like braids and buns and ponytails where you may have some hair kind of sticking out that you want to smooth down or you could use this just to add some nice shine to hairstyles like that you could even use it like this like if you have some breakage up here that you're trying to mask something like this does a really nice job at masking that and last we have a dry shampoo i know that i recommended so many dry shampoos before but the reason why i wanted to include this is because it's a little bit different it's actually a tinted dry shampoo so it's the l'oreal ever pure sulfate free why does this look so dusty like it's just been sitting here collecting dust this has been under my sink and i've been using it often what so this is available in at least two different shades this one is the light toned option and they do have a darker one i don't know if they have like should i just look okay so this light toned one is supposed to be for blonde hair and red hair and then they have a dark tone one for brown and black hair i was really skeptical about this but excited because i'd never tried a tinted dry shampoo before and in theory it sounds amazing but i was like this could end up going really poorly because obviously there's a lot of dry shampoos that have very intense white casts sure that lightens your roots but it doesn't look natural or good and i was also worried that this might end up making my roots look a little bit ashy or gray but it actually has a warmth to it to prevent that from happening and i think this looks pretty natural actually i was very impressed by it it really does do a good job at lightening up the root area and the reason why i really enjoy that is because i feel like my hair looks so much darker when it is really dirty like i feel like the times i've had people comment on the difference in like my roots and ends is only when my hair is dirty there's something about that grease that just i don't know for me at least makes my roots appear darker so i enjoy that this is absorbing oils it does a good job at doing that plus lightening my roots even though i don't even really have roots anymore it's so grown out i'm really trying to grow these out as long as possible so that i can have a lot more depth in here i'm still gonna keep like blonde but i am done with the all over bright bleach blonde i feel like it just number one destroys my hair and number two does not look right on me anymore you know we need just a little more depth but i'm not going brunette don't go crazy so if you are in between styling appointments you're trying to get away with that extended root look for a little bit longer i think that a tinted dry shampoo is an awesome way to do that what the heck i just finished filming that entire video and then realized i forgot um the 10th thing i was going to share uh okay not that you guys would have noticed because i can just edit it in but i think i said that this was the last product uh okay the actual final product is technically four different products because i really wanted to share some affordable styling tools with you guys there are so many insanely expensive styling tools out there and i feel like everything these days is like 250 350 and it's like what when did styling tools become so so crazy expensive or maybe they always have been i don't know either way i totally understand that for some people that is just like an insane amount of money to spend on something like that we obviously all have different price points that we're willing to spend on different kinds of products but i feel like i've seen so many comments asking for affordable racks for hairstyling tools so the brand i want to recommend is heritage by mindy i have talked about all these products before in a previous video i can't remember what video that was though it was this winter maybe it was my like holiday gift shopping video i think that was it i just think these are such great products and they're all like under forty dollars so they have an awesome blow dryer they have a straightener if that's something you use i don't often use straighteners but sometimes because my hair blow dries pretty straight so if i have like a couple pieces that are out of line i'll just touch those up with a straightener but i don't often do like an all-over straightener situation but if you do that's a really good straightener this is a really great curling iron it is a one and one-fourths inch barrel and they also have a crimper or waiver which i know is super trendy right now i love the look of wavy cramped hair so this one is awesome for that so i don't think you can go wrong with heritage by mindy whichever styling tool you choose but awesome price point for really great products so i wanted to make sure that i was including these in this video and i'm glad i remembered and did not just take off all my makeup i was this close because i need to go work out okay back to the outro that i already filmed all right you guys that is it for today's video those are all the drugstore hair care products that i wanted to talk through
