rb19 is arguably the most successful Grand Prix car ever to have raced now I've been on Christian horos Case since the beginning of the year asking him begging him for the opportunity to experience just what this monster feels like on the race track it's finally going to happen I was there at the beginning with rb1 I'm now going to experience rb19 and I cannot wait [Music] you see what they prepared for me the geriatric driving control engineering procedure I need you to give me a few poins what is going to be the biggest surprise do you think for me if you driv the hybrid cars before I've not driven this T generation it's really easy to drive and it's super nice throttle pill I don't know what you had but it's really long we had about 35 mm right it's long you need to lose a lot of pedal you know we are inom ition for the driveing this car for next year so you know once I get my suit on I can't be friendly soon oh my God what do you think I thought you were joking the other day I didn't realize you were serious what are you talking about well that's why I've come here because they told me DC's driving the car Liam you've explained the car to me he's he driving he weren't it's a shout so it's not going to be long before I go out and in the words of Bernie Eon don't no pressure then final preparation silence sitting in the garriage in many ways of course it feels like a long long time ago 15 Seasons to be precise but in other ways it feels all [Music] normal right the power of a V6 hybrid behind me let's do this well as the geriatric Driving Manual explained I don't need to use the throttle when leaving the garage that's [Music] unusual so as we head out onto track getting to experience just what modern Formula 1 can [Music] deliver go recharge off okay recharge off so one lap of the GP circuit so coming out of Club Corner about to open the lap Podium on the right hand side F mem of my pass across the start Finish Line acceleration really pushes you back turn one I'm down a gear I know that should be flat but I just don't have the confidence at this stage Mighty levels of downforce and then big on the brakes down into this what would be considered the Mickey Mouse section of silver very slow speeds and what is a very highe speed circuit now you start to open the throttle out onto the Wellington Street and you really get the sense of this is a thousand horsepower machine very smooth as we run along the back stet down into the breaking we've got brdc Clubhouse on the right into BR this car feels planted spot the epex ru it over into lufield and then all the other drivers that said I would feel the car being heavy but it feels Nimble for me going past the all start finish right here we go now time to take a breath as we get towards cops Corner again just feeling the man of G so precise and for maggots into beckets down a gear massive amounts of downforce as I pull through the right finding the line through what is one of the most impressive sequences of corals and anying re Flack and then add on to hanger there we are squeeze the power it is amazing down into St roll the C into the epex and again it's so precise at high speeds wow the amount of grip is unbelievable down into the last Corner heavy on the brides now I'm starting to get a sense of this is a much bigger heavier White machine than I was used to racing it's still incredibly smooth and then R out El to the start finish to complete the lap what a privilege what an honor this is a car of its generation it's a mindblowing machine box and into the pits okay [Applause] box woo okay well I'm wi awake now what an experience so smooth so much grip I know the actual drivers complain of it being quite comers at more speed but for a 52y old it felt Nimble it felt awesome and you had one good L left in me thanks for that how was it yeah there's one thing I think uh I maybe embarrass the driver's Union by breaking and downshifting at turn one and two look a squeeze yeah I loved that I actually loved it after like three corners you were already on it I mean you might have downshifted for turn one but it sounded you could hear over the backside of the circuit you were like hard in it gentlemen ni one thank you very much thank you very much thank you very much thank you very much I hand the car back to you in perfect working order yeah so as racing drivers say to one another don't it up yeah copy that I'll do my best wow what an experience rb19 it is the car of its generation and I've had the opportunity to experience rb1 at the beginning of the journey right through to this car which undoubtedly is a fantastic World Championship car maybe even I could have won the title in this car what are you laughing at I used to be good
