As I got pre drilled square plate from the milling machine, I needed to enter it on my lathe. The pre-drill was not right in the center, so I needed to use some tricks to center it. Insert drilling bit same dia as a hole. You can notice that hole position. Let's check it with a drilling bit in the tailstock. The plate had to be moved out from the center. I will use two nuts between the steel plate and chuck jaws. This requires tightening very strong, because the tightening surface is smaller, because of the nuts. Start drilling on the pre-drilled hole. Change the drill bit to a bigger one. It has a bit of disturbance still, but it is going. I will use the biggest one which is supported by my tail stock. See how nice chips come out! Now I am checking the measure, and starting with the boring bar. Because of the safety, I am going just 1mm per pass in dia. For now everything is going smooth. I will try to show you the process more closely. Boring is going great! Hope you enjoyed my presentation!
