hi Durbin from pump that septic today we're going to take you through the process of restoring a drain field when we came out to this property there was a lot of green grass right here and when we pumped it out we had to come back and pump it out again about another month and this was obviously a problem so we brought a camera out check the drain field found it was completely saturated so we're going to dig the header up this morning you're going to get out the lines we're going to add some bacteria and we'll take you through the process yeah see how it's totally black we can't see any of the pipe so we're actually underwater so I'm going to try and find either the header if it has a header there's a little bit of light or a distribution box we might have to hit the vacuum down here you see those solids in there that's what's causing everything to that's the kind of stuff that should be in your septic tank not in your field we're going to jet up each individual line here we're going to remove all the solids that have collected in there before we introduce any of the bacteria we've uncovered the header and there's a lot of liquid and a lot of solids in here so what we're doing is actually pumping everything out that we can at this point and then we're going to bring the jetter in here and clean out the lines so that everything is gone before we introduce the bacteria okay now that the complete header has been removed well as you can see behind me what we're doing now is we're jetting out each individual line to remove all the solids so that we've got a clear path to the bacteria to flow and we'll check it out again with the camera just to make sure everything is good and clean what's going to happen is this bacteria is going to once it's mixed with water it activates and it's going to continue to flood the system and do its job rejuvenating the pipes and the all the pores that are in there and work its way down into the stone and actually work its way into the soil and the system will start to function properly again this effluent filter is the last upgrade we're going to do today on this project and it's a very important part of your septic system because it's going to catch any solids that are in your tank that have the potential of flowing out into your drain field system and that's the reason why this system failed was because there was solids that had gotten out into the drain field and it was backing up so we're going to install an effluent filter and a riser is going to be installed right over it so that we can access it check it annually clean it as you need it if there's you know four or so people maybe you need to clean it annually if there's more than that it just really depends on how many people are in the house and how much water is being used how often this filter needs to be cleaned but this is your insurance for keeping your septic system functioning properly for years to come so the next time you have septic problems - give us a call at two six nine four four five seven seven seven seven or go to pump that septic comm for professional septic service in Southwest Michigan you
