DPM Smock and Recce Boonie

what's up fellas I got some new stuff made some new stuff and just kind of here to talk a little bit um biggest thing yesterday no two days ago along with that Alice pack that I bought I got this this is a British DPM smok and this is pretty good uh right now it's a little bit cooler than it was yesterday uh maybe 60° well no it's more than that I'll check it later I think it's um 65 66 67 but it's very humid as well cuz we just had some good rain around here the ground isn't really wet but it is moist but um so it's I don't know average temperature I'd say and this thing is working wonders it's made of a a cloth it's like a very tight NE tight uh weave cotton polyester mix something like that but it's light and it blocks the wind because it's such a tight weave but it's light enough I could wear this any season I wanted if it was winter time I could bundle up underneath this and then summertime I can just wear it with a t-shirt or with no t-shirt on underneath cuz it is a soft enough material that I probably could just wear it against bare skin um thing that I made let get down to the camera is this this is a boony hat well of course it is but I made some modifications to it very simple ones but very easy and and somewhat effective ones uh this is the Boon that I was wearing in my first Alice Alice kit video my my take on Alice gear and if you guys noticed back then what was that a year ago that was a while anyways uh I cut the brim cut the brim around it just a little bit maybe about half inch 3/4 inch off of it so that then it's easier to see out of cuz those Boonies they flop and when they get really wet they flop down right over your your eyes but uh something that I did because that kind of looked Goofy and because it didn't really uh black your I don't know face I guess as much is I cut up some pant legs into strips and wo them across through all every single one of these loops around it so it kind of makes that uh Manchu hair like uh 1980s uh PGT kpot helmet cover the stuff that they did um it looks pretty good even though it's just OD green and I'm thinking about maybe spray painting a little bit to get some like Browns and maybe a little tiny tiny bit of black on there just to camo it up a little bit more but otherwise it's just a tiger stripe pattern underneath those I haven't found a good way to secure these yet because you can just pull these right out if you really wanted to um I'm thinking maybe um getting the lengths on both sides just right balanced and then just stapling them like with a just a reg regular commercial stapler onto the hat and then just spray painting over the Staples so it's not like shining Steel on my hat um so yeah that's that oh here I'll grab the camera real quick um now this is the stump that I keep telling you guys about I literally just wedge my phone down in there and get a good view of my filming spot uh other thing that I got was is this this stuff um these are you know M1 1956 H suspenders I finally upgraded from those Y suspenders and oh my gosh these are so much better I mean I ran this set up with the Y suspenders once and I didn't like it that much now with the H suspenders it is so much better just got a little Carabiner on there I don't know if I'll keep that uh St Benedict of nursa metal just cuz and of course the TP iCal symbology that I always have yeah uh two things that I added onto the buck kit while I'm here is grenade pouch there and little first a/ Compass pouch there this has electrical tape and a headband in it and that has my rosaries in the little hard case so yeah that's pretty much it uh environment that I'm working with is it's darker in real life it seems brighter in the video but um heavily wooded uh deciduous forest next to a stream I dug a hole um yeah so I feel like this DPM will work pretty well especially if I like crawl into some brush if I really wanted to hey there's a wrapper there um yeah good stuff I got to climb up that stinking Hill to get out of here I don't like that uh just a quick video just cuz why not I figure if I'm out here more then I'll get away from some things that I probably shouldn't be doing although hell even that didn't work today that was my plan to get out and run around whenever yeah but that didn't work um yeah get outside test your gear this smok and stuff I don't know I look that good that looks smok hat everything much better than what I had very glad I made this purch I got the SM for like 20 bucks and it's almost brand new conditions so that works pretty well and I got a baggie so I can wear it forever and so I can bundle up underneath of it so good stuff
