was good creative fam you read the title you saw the thumbnail let's jump into it in this video I'm gonna be giving you guys three simple steps on how you can almost double your income on every single video job that you do and the first step is to give your client exactly what they want see every single client books us for a job and a lot of times they call us up if they hit us up there there's dm's or emails whatever your website and they are asking for a video but the truth is they don't really care about the video see a lot of times they they think they care about the video but what they really care about is something underneath the video and that is the goal that they're trying to achieve by using a video every client who contacts you for video is trying to do basically one of a few different things they're either trying to raise awareness about something this could be a product this can be about their brain or it could even be about an organization of nonprofit they're trying to sell something so they actually have a physical product that they're trying to sell more of or they're trying to connect with their audience in some way and they think that video is the best way now no matter what these things are there may be a few other reasons why they want to do a video those are the real reasons why they're wanting to do a video not doing a video because they just think that video is cool now I know you might be thinking to yourself right now well Brandon how does this help me double my income and I'm gonna tell you here in just a moment but it is super super crucial that you understand this first step if you don't get this first step step 2 and step 3 don't they won't work I guarantee you they don't work so you have to make sure that you identify what this goal is now you might be asking yourself well how do I know what this goal is legitimately just ask your client if you ask your client ok cool it's great that you're coming to me for a video and they start telling you all the cool ideas they have her video because they're excited about it jot all those things down and then when they're done talking ask them this question so why do you want to do a video what is the purpose of this video what is the goal you hope to achieve by doing this video this is gonna one help you in a ton of different areas first off you're gonna know what type of video you need to create they're gonna tell you things like who they're you know main client bases who they're trying to attract with this video but ultimately it's also gonna help you with other little elements like calls to action knowing what your clients goal is for the overall video it's crucial and if you don't do this first step doubling your income it's gonna be a whole lot harder now Before we jump into step two I want to briefly say that as you guys can tell the videos that are slightly different and that is because today I'm trying out something called business Monday's and so every single Monday I want to put out a video that lets you guys know more about the business side of video you guys responded so well to my last video going over business things like how to actually charge your clients so I want to start putting out more business videos like this on Monday so let me know down in the comments other topics you want me to cover and also if you think this video is helpful you want to know more about business in your video world make sure you hit that subscribe button all right so now let's jump into step two and that is to create a multi-level plan to help them achieve their goal not make their video see again I talked about earlier you got to know what their goal is before you can do step two step two is coming up with multi-level plans in order to help them actually achieve their original goal where most clients approach you to do a video they pretty much have one video idea in mind maybe two but they know exactly what they want those videos to look like and they just want you to pretty much show up and shoot it go above and beyond and come up with a multi-level plan that's gonna allow you to help them achieve their goal and then when we get into step 3 I'm gonna show you exactly how you go about selling that to them now real quick if you're super new to video and you're like all this is completely going over your head totally okay I actually did a book a while back on the beginner's guide to filmmaking so if you want to check out that book Lisa that will be down in the description so you can learn how to actually shoot better videos and then you can get out there and start making some money so you ready here is how you actually go from making one amount of money for one video and then basically doubling your income and that is create micro content that's right creating micro content is the key to doubling your income when doing videos and it's so profitable it's ridiculous see when you go out to shoot a video you're gonna plan to shoot the entire thing regardless it's either gonna be a full day or probably maybe a half day of shooting you're gonna have to bring out models cameras lights audio equipment gimble's everything that it's gonna take to produce that video and when you're done with it if you do exactly what your client asks you're gonna have one video that is just one video you can sell to them for a price and now the exchange is done and there's really nothing else you can do about it however if at the beginning you come up with a multi-level micro content based plan you can now take that full or half day worth of shooting and turn it into multiple videos now you might be thinking to yourself well the client only called me about one video no no no remember from step one the client actually called you to help them achieve a goal they just think that one video is gonna help them achieve that goal well if you can know what their goal is you know what their plans are now you can sell them on creating micro content because realistically micro content is really what's gonna help push the main big video and then all of them working together is going to help them achieve their real true goals so now you come up with this multi-level plan you know you want to create micro content you want to help them with it but now your client is saying well I don't know about this or I don't know about doing more videos I really only have the budget for one so I'm gonna teach you now how to sell the value not the videos so you selling the value is way more important than selling your videos if you call yourself a professional if you're someone who wants to shoot videos and make money you should be good at making videos I mean if your videos are still kind of iffy you should be in the business of selling your videos yet keep shooting for you know exposure just kidding keep shooting for experiences aim to continue to improve your craft but if you call yourself a professional and you're ready to make money at this you should start selling the value not the videos when you sell the value your clients can understand things like ROI which is return on the investment like how much am I gonna make off of this video how much am i investing in the video versus how much I'm gonna get out of it and these are things that they're going to be looking at as a business professional now you might be thinking to yourself well Brandon I don't really shoot business clients like I shoot music videos or I shoot weddings or I shoot you know whatever this works in no matter what field you do because whether you're shooting a music video maybe you're gonna sell them the fact that you can sell them multiple teasers to hype up the fact that that music video is coming out or if you're shooting a wedding giving them a one day turnaround a teaser bumper multiple little videos that can then go out with the main ones that way everybody's ready and excited for that main video you can always sell micro content to help you double your income the first thing is that you have to continue to talk about their goals the videos stopped selling the videos start talking about their goals and how micro-content is gonna benefit their goals as an example if you're shooting a commercial for someone just relate the fact that how if you look at any big brand whether it's coca-cola progressive you name the industry there's a commercial there's always multiple versions of those commercials think about the Geico commercial there are multiple versions of Geico commercials and that's because Geico has a huge team that understands that multiple commercials work better because some commercials are going to relate with certain customers and some just won't and so the more commercials you have the better your opportunity of actually reaching out and touching your client or your potential customers this is what you have to sell to your client so you're not selling the videos you're selling the value that the videos are going to provide also if it's just from a monetary standpoint you can tell them that by creating micro content they have now actually exponentially increased the value of their full or half day of shooting because now instead of spending a half day to shoot a commercial and they get one video out of it now they can shoot for a half day and get five six seven commercials out of it and the micro content doesn't have to be crazy it could be very simple things like I've done micro content that's as simple as doing a boomerang I mean you may not think like what would you just shoot that on your phone yeah I shot it on my phone and it works because in today's world of mass media consumption you have to be in front of your customers consistently and so teaching your client about that and how that's gonna help them achieve their goal first of all they're gonna look at you in a whole new light you're not just gonna be the video guy anymore you're gonna be the guy or girl that's helping them achieve their business goals see this is what they really want see they're coming to you for business they're coming to you for video but really all they want to do is achieve their goals help them achieve their goals and trust me not only will they hire you again in the future to do their videos but she'll be their number one video guy or girl for the rest of their business on top of this just to just kind of put one more stamp on this I've recently been working with a lot more agencies and I can tell you that if someone goes to a marketing agency this is all they're preaching across every marketing agency is that it's not just about one video it's about having multiple video that's spanned over some time that tell a compelling story or that can continue to enhance how their customers see their brand this is what all marketing agencies are doing and so if you can start selling little micro content along with your big videos not only will you double your income on that specific project but you'll also build a client that now loves you because you've achieved their goals and when they achieve their goals all they want to do is hire you
