DOUBLE BOOKISH UNBOXING | Owlcrate & Illumicrate Daughter of Smoke & Bone Box

hey everyone it's jenny and welcome back to my channel the story ain't over so today i'm coming to you with a kind of big unboxing video so i have two unboxings to do but one of them is really special and i'm super excited about it so i have an owlcrate unboxing for november i believe so i'm going to do that one first and then i also have an unboxing for the daughter of smoke and bone exclusive box in collaboration with laini taylor by luma crate and if you guys didn't know strange dreamer by laini taylor is like one of my all-time favorite books ever and i actually have read the first daughter of smoke and bone before back when i was in high school and i really enjoyed it i just never got around to continuing with the series and so after reading strange the dreamer i really wanted to pick up those books again and then i found out that illumicrate was doing this box and i am one of their reps for the next few months and my code is genuinely five so you can go check that out to grab a three or six month subscription but i'm very excited to be unboxing this new fancy edition today but i'm gonna hold off for this one and do the owl crate first i will leave a timestamp in the description though if you do want to go skip to this unboxing okay so let's get started with the owlcrate box okay so the theme for this month is growing wild this is the november 2020 box and i actually really love this illustration it's super cute and i'm gonna try and not get spoiled but this is the little booklet um that tells you everything in the box as well and gives you extra information as well okay so the first thing in here is you took the truth and you made it into flowers it's this little box and that's the quote on it it's super cute the font that they used and let's open it up oh my god this is super cute so it's a little necklace with like this glass ball uh pendant and it has like um one of those dandelion little things that fly i forgot what they're called encased in the glass which is super super cute i don't actually know if it's the dandelion thing but it's like it looks like that so it's super cute and you know it's just flying away i love that okay so the next thing in here is this little box and i just peeked at the back and it says flowers and hearthfire spiced wine and underneath the scent of home and then it says use this beautiful flower press to dry and preserve lovely floral pieces and leaves perfect for adding a special touch to your journal entries and craft projects inspired by red london from the shades of magic series by victoria schwab oh my god and this is designed with love by peppermint and lines and i'm so excited i've always wanted a flower press and i've always wanted to do flower pressing but i've never like bothered but that is so freaking cool okay so i just pulled it out this is what it looks like let me pull it out plastic okay so this is what it looks like and it says as thera i think and that means to grow in the language from the shades of magic series in red london uh so that's super cool and then it's got like this back wooden piece and basically it has like these screws so you stick your flowers in between and then you put the screws on and then it kind of keeps them pressed very nicely and then you let it sit for a few weeks and then you can use those flowers in like journals and like other things so this is super cute and now that i have like an official way to press flowers i feel like i'll actually do it but yeah i just love this like artwork over here and also just the way that they used the quote from shades magic super cute all right the next thing in here is the set of stickers from pip stickers and i've actually received stickers like this before in an owlcrate box from this same like creator and i loved them so i'm so happy to be getting more and i actually know exactly what theme i'm going to be using this set of stickers for in my journal for next year stay tuned for more journaling videos in the new year but very excited about this and it's also got some bookish stickers on the back i don't know if you can see this but these are the bookish stickers and then these are the theme stickers okay the next thing in the box was this envelope and it's got a bunch of cards i think in it oh my god okay so i think it's like little cards like different flowers maybe that's the first one second one oh my god these are so cute and they have nothing on the back by the way and this is the last one so according to the spoiler card these are some recreations of tokens imaginative middle earth plans in a set of vintage style art prints so that's super cute and they're botanical postcards inspired by lord of the rings like plants and i think that's adorable i don't know if i'll actually use them as like postcards but i think i might actually just stick them in like my journal as like just some sort of art or i might actually put them up on my walls because they are quite pretty oh my god okay so the next thing in here is a reading planner and actually i remember in one of the earlier boxes this year i also got a reading planner and i never ended up using that so i really do want to use this one this year um but i do do bullet journaling so i don't know how like useful this will be but let me know if you guys are interested and maybe i'll do like a giveaway for the reading planner because i'd love to give it to someone who will use it more because i know i just didn't end up using mine as much because i use my bullet journal but this is super cute because it has so it has like your planner belongs to page and it's also got the spread for like your favorite books and you can fill them in and it's also got these monthly spreads so you can plan out your month and then for each month you have a book wish list and a monthly tbr and then it's also got weekly planner spreads as well which is really nice and then it's also got spreads for book reviews which is super cool and you can add all this like extra information and really keep track of what you're reading and actually really love this i think it's really useful i just like like designing my own pages for my bullet journal but i love this concept and i know someone is definitely gonna use this so yeah i might actually do a giveaway for this um so stay tuned for that um because i'd love to give it to someone who's actually gonna use it all right the next thing in here is this beautiful little pin and i think it's like a bear with like flowers on them which is super super cute and this was made by the morgan barrett shop and here it is without the plastic but that's super super cute okay and the last thing in here is the book of the month and that is among the beasts and briars by ashley poston and i know nothing about this book but i'm very excited because it has red sprayed edges and it is so beautiful and i'm gonna pull off the dust jacket because all of you always comment on my unboxing videos that i forgot to take off the jacket and there's always something exciting underneath and oh my god there is there's artwork underneath holy so this is the artwork underneath and look at that that's so pretty and i guess it's like a scene from the book but super cute and then it's also signed by the author which is really nice and we've also got an author letter so i'm going to read it out to you hello among the beasts and briars is very special to me i wrote it when i was lost lost in the way you feel in the center of your stomach hollow and hungry but then i met sar series saris and fox and we found our way out of the wood together i hope you fall in love with fox and i hope you find a piece of yourself in series but most of all i hope that wherever life takes you like a dandelion tough on the wind you find a place to call home where you can plant your roots and bloom ps happy reading ashley that is super cute and i now understand the necklace because it has the dandelion tough which relates to the book so that is super super cute and i love it i actually really like this cover and like the color scheme i don't know if it's like an exclusive color scheme but super cute and i love the edges so a very pretty book to put on my shelves okay and the last thing that i have here is the theme card for next month and that is love is a battlefield and i actually already kind of have an idea of what this is gonna be and i feel like it's a book i've already read but i'm still excited because having a special edition of a book i come in like the regular yellow illuma crate box it came in like this giant regular box because there's so much stuff so i'm going to just pull out each item and show it to you but that's why i'm not showing you like the yellow box okay so the first thing in this box is something that i already love just like it was just sitting on the top and i'm like already super excited so it's this beautiful book sleeve and it is inspired by the book and on the front or on this side it has a quote and it says something was starting to take shape out of magic and will smoke and bone which is super super pretty and this is like the same material as last month's box um with like the leather uh book sleeve and i don't know if illumicrate does this for all of them but they're very nice and then on the back this is so freaking pretty i just wanna die but look at this just look at this artwork it is so freaking gorgeous oh my god and i'm assuming these are two characters from the series and i i'm just deceased right now and now let's find out what's in the sleeve oh my god i can already see like blue sprayed edges oh my god it's so pretty it is so so pretty oh my god so these are the special edition new edition covers uk covers for this series there are new us covers as well which i kind of want to pick up as well but these are so pretty and i think these ones feel a lot more magical than the us ones but super super pretty and this is i believe a character from the book and i forget what his name is but i remember reading about this character and i just love this at the bottom and the colors and it's so pretty and that's the spine and then on the back it says once upon a time an angel and a devil fell in love it did not end well and it says illumicrate exclusive on the back and it's got the blue sprayed edges and it's also signed on the inside which is fantastic and i'm gonna just take off the oh my god okay so i took off the dust jacket and this is the inside and look at this like oh my god so it says she had been innocent once a little girl playing with feathers on the floor of a devil's lair she wasn't innocent now oh my god this is so freaking beautiful and oh my god this is like one of the most beautiful additions i've ever received of a book like this is incredible and i did notice something on the dust jacket when i was taking it off there's artwork here and oh my god ta-da look at this look at this this is freaking wild and i oh my god there's like so many characters from the book in this and this is just wild like there's like different scenes too and i cannot like i can't wait to reread this first one and then go back and look at this because i honestly don't remember enough from the first time i read daughter of smoke and bone to really understand what's going on here but i also don't want to spoil myself so i'm gonna put this away oh my god this box just keeps getting better and better so the next thing in here is this like tin box thing and it looks like a a book like it's and it's like stained glass like images on here and that's the back i'm just gonna show you this properly before i open this up so that's the back or maybe the front i can't tell and here's the other side and then this is the spine part super cute and i think it's like a storage box oh my god look at that that is so cute this is two characters from the book i believe and oh my god i love this already but it's like a box that you can put stuff in and store things in and i've seen like storage boxes like this before but this is super cute and i love how they made it look like an actual book but it has like these beautiful artwork as well so super cute i love this and i'm definitely gonna put like just random things in here and i cannot wait i'm also tempted to just like put this like on my shelves as like as if it's a book and then put stuff inside it but we'll see okay the next thing in here is like a poster and it got a little bit bent i think in um shipping but still it looks gorgeous and here it is it's so pretty oh my god look at that it's so freaking nice holy it's like so many characters from the series i believe and it just looks so nice and i think i might actually put this on my wall because it's just so pretty but love it okay next thing in the box is this box so i'm gonna cut it open and see what's inside and i think i might have accidentally spoiled myself because i took a look at the like wednesday card thing but i don't know how they look like so i'm very excited so from what i know these are bookends and oh my god i'm so excited right now like you just don't understand oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god okay these are the and holy okay so they're meant to be like this way i don't know if you can see that properly so this first one says once upon a time an angel and a devil fell in love and then on the other one it says it did not end well i don't know if you can see this probably from the way i'm holding it but i'm trying but this is so freaking cute and oh my god like i am just so impressed like look at how beautiful that is i know it looks like wings and it's just so nice and i can't wait to put these on my shelves like i honestly don't have space on my shelves to put these but i really want to because they're so nice all right the next thing in the box is this white box here and let's find out what's inside okay i think oh my god this is super super cute so it has this little tag that says karoo which is the main character's name i believe in the book from what i remember and i honestly don't know what this is but this is it's this little object thing and i'm sure it has something to do with the book if anyone knows let me know without spoiling the series but this is super super cute alright the second last thing in this box is this enamel pen and i don't know if you can see it but it's super cute and it says it's snap split the world in two and i believe that's the wishbone in the book and i know there's something to do like there's something huge to do with the plot with that wishbone so super cute i love this okay so the last thing in this box is this i think mug box here and it says fluttering dreams inspired by strange the dreamer yay oh my god i love stranger dreamer as you guys know and here we go oh my god i love it already oh my god okay i don't know if you can see this but it's like a whole kind of scene and it has our two main characters sarai and uh lazlo on it right here oh my god i love this and it's just so pretty oh i love this i'm definitely gonna use this because it's so pretty and i love this series so much so yeah super excited about this ah i love it okay but that was everything in the daughter of smoke and bone box that was so beautiful and the special edition was just so gorgeous and i just loved it so so much so so so excited about this and just to reread daughter of smoke and bone and go pick up the rest of the series and i'm just super super excited in general this is like very impressive as a box and i think my favorite was probably the book sleeve and the book itself but let me know what you guys loved
