hey there I've been playing Early Access and let me tell you Starfield is a vast game and I know there are probably hundreds of tips out there in this video I'm going to narrow it down to the ones that truly helped me in my first 20 hours and walk you through them before we dive in I want to reassure you that this video is completely spoiler free we won't reveal anything related to the story except for some Mission recommendations if you do find either one of the tips helpful if you could quickly throw a like it helps the channel so much alright let's kick things off when you begin your Starfield Adventure you'll be asked to choose your background which grants you three starting skills here's the deal don't stress too much about these starting skills they're just the beginning and you'll level up quickly after the tutorial you'll even gain three more skills almost right away to slot it plus you can unlock all of them eventually depending on how far you want to take your journey however a word of caution traits are permanent so choose ones you're ready to commit to for your entire playthrough once you start your playthrough you'll notice that you get a handy tool the scanner open it up to loot Faster by pinpointing item locations even on dead bodies but that's not all the scanner is also the fastest way to identify NPCs that you can interact with some of these NPCs will give you quests that lead to very long and feeling side quests there's also good news for hoarders the ammo actually doesn't weigh anything in this game so don't hesitate to pick up as much as you can trust me it's not easy to come by and you should make sure that you have guns that use different types of ammo especially if you're playing on the harder difficulties Inventory management is crucial you have a weight limit determined by your skills equipped items and consumables which you'll find in Aid going over this limit will overburden you and cause you to consume more oxygen indicated in the bottom left your ship also has storage accessible from your inventory or the wall inside your ship remember more cargo Bays mean more storage but they'll slow down your ship also don't forget to store and retrieve items from your companions who can carry stuff like a pack mule for you when you do land in a landing pad there's usually a green kiosk with several thousand credits here you can get all your loot and sell it off for credits which are used for everything in game it may not give you the best prices but it is very convenient when traveling between planets you don't need to open up the system map to travel in between the planets in your ship once you're in orbit press F to bring up your scanner view align yourself with the Target and hit e to lock onto it and then R to Warped it this also works for landing sites on planets provided you're lined up with it and guess what you can even jump from system to system without entering the menu if you have a mission in that system while you're getting ready to travel between planets you'll want to get your ship looking nice double click to highlight the entire ship and change all its pieces colors in one go which is a lot easier than the single sections I was doing when I started if you visit a vendor and they don't have enough credits for you to sell all your items you can wait or sleep for 24 hours and the vendor will refresh their wallet and speaking of sleep snoozing for just one hour gets you well rested shown in your current statuses well rested gives you a 10 XP bonus for 24 hours there's also alien tea that grants a two percent bonus sip one just before finishing a mission for that extra XP boost lastly without giving away any spoilers consider focusing on the main story until about three missions in you'll come to a mission called into the unknown this will help you get a solid feel for the game and its mechanics as many things aren't explained until you do these early missions related to them after that feel free to explore dive into side quests and make the most of your journey and there you have it there are plenty more tips to explore and I'll be making another video with a more detailed guide on things like shipbuilding and collecting so subscribe not to miss them if you found this video helpful subscribe to keep up with my latest videos really goes a long way in supporting my channel thanks for stopping by
