no face is 100 symmetrical don't believe me bring it in come here all right watch see the difference no face is completely symmetrical and that's okay because we're humans and we're not perfect but that doesn't mean we have to stop trying to get better and that's what this video is all about so today i'm gonna tell you some reasons your face may look a bit asymmetrical some things that you can change and how you can actually correct that asymmetrical look what's going on guys welcome back to my channel it's brett maverick here i hope you all are having an awesome day here on this channel we talk about everything men's lifestyle self-development facial structure fitness girls all of that stuff so the main reason that people experience asymmetries in their face is because of the jaw you can have asymmetries in other areas your eyebrows your lips nose but the jaw is the main culprit so why does this happen asymmetries come from different lengths in the same muscles on opposite sides of the face and mainly we're talking about this mandible muscle right here in the side of the jaw now how can this happen well a few caveats are it could be genetics you could just be genetically disposed to have asymmetries it could be a sign of something a little more serious like bell's palsy but that's slightly unprobable because far away the most common reason is because of overuse of one side of your face overuse of one side of your face now imagine this so if you were to go to the gym grab the 50 pound dumbbell and curl that a hundred times and you never do a single curl on the other side the bicep on your right side is gonna be much more developed than the one on your left right same thing with your face so what could you be doing it could be you're sleeping on only one side every single night it could be that you're talking and you're favoring one side of your face but the main culprit is you are eating slash chewing on majority one side of your jaw if you're chewing far more on one side than the other that side that you are favoring is gonna become tighter the muscle will become more developed and it'll actually pull your mandible in that direction causing an asymmetry ah could be thing right does this sound familiar so if you really want to know you can just do a simple quick test all you do is you take a couple fingers and you press press excuse me pretty firmly in each direction and you do it to each side and the side that you feel some tightness some tension that is a good sign that that side is being overused and you are creating more tightness and tension on that side so one of the fixes that you can do is just try to be mindful about your eating and try to chew more on the opposite side or if you chew gum try to chew on the other side more than you chew on the side that you've been favoring this is a trick that bodybuilders and fitness people use if you have a muscle imbalance you just train the other muscle harder than you train that muscle and eventually it will catch up so get some gum chew on the other side for a few months maybe even a year and soon enough you will start to see progress and see equalization in those muscles in your face one more thing that you can do and you should be doing anyways is practicing proper tongue posture this is also known as mewing let me introduce you to my friend chompers here hopefully that's in focus but you want to have your tongue pressed up against the roof of your mouth evenly at all times and especially in the back third region right here what this will do is it will stimulate an even growth of your maxilla that upper palette within your mouth helping your face grow upwards and forwards evenly and the earlier you start doing this the better because it can make a huge difference especially in those developmental stages of childhood but then again it's never too late you should be doing it no matter what your age is and one quick way you can know if you have proper tongue posture is by saying the word sing sing and you notice at the end of saying sing the the back of your tongue is up against through for your mouth and then just lay the rest of your tongue down on your upper palate [Music] hold that for all day every day as much as you can and that is proper tongue posture so those are some quick things you can do right away to start correcting asymmetries but if you want to take it even further there are some exercises you can do and i made a video on that so if you want to learn more about that and give some of those a try click this video right here there's a lot of great information but thanks for watching if you haven't already please subscribe because why not it's a win-win for both of us and until next time peace
