Dog has an emotional support RAT

when somebody asked me if their dog's emotional support rat could come with them to the groomers obviously i said yes this is sully the 10 month old australian shepherd and border collie mix and his rat benny and yes benny will also be getting a bath today sully is a very nervous puppy and the owners were concerned on how he would handle the groom today i'm not going to lie at first he did try to escape but we made sure that his furry little friend was close by in order to keep him calm after a few minutes in the bath although he did try to escape one more time he calmed down considerably thanks thank you when introducing a dog to grooming for the first time i take certain steps to make it as less scary as possible today i didn't bathe sully's face or ears that way i wouldn't have to blow dry that area if a dog is scared of the water they will most likely also be afraid of the dryer unfortunately sully wouldn't accept treats so i used praise and visits from benny instead the happy hoodie is used during the dry to keep the ears safe from the noise and the air and the pressure also acts like a hug which for many dogs helps to ease anxiety it's good okay there you go good boy the owners warned me that he had a bad experience having his nails clipped when he was younger and that's something that i might not be able to do today fortunately i was able to clip every nail although i had to give him plenty of breaks and praise and now it's benny's turn out of all the rodents that you can get as a pet rats are the most friendly most intelligent and least likely to bite they make great pets for children since they are so social and friendly and they can easily be taught tricks on command they can even be litter trained on average they live two to three years and they do best living with at least one other rat they will eat whenever possible so it's important to monitor their eating unless you want a little obese critter which wouldn't be ideal for their health just like dogs and cats rats can be purchased from breeders who work to ensure their pups are healthy with good temperaments unlike purchasing from a pet store and despite the theory that rats are dirty and carry diseases pet rats are quite the opposite and are often overlooked as family pets for this reason hi he's so cute lots of people assume by the name of my channel that i am only a dog person but the truth is i love all animals in every shape and size i do believe that benny performed his job well today and helped sully feel calm during his entire grooming appointment and i'm not going to lie their bond was beyond adorable thank you so much for watching i hope you enjoyed the scared sully and the beloved benny
