Does Reflectix Work?

I mean if I shoot this off of the ceiling its 122 degrees up there right okay this probably qualifies as one of those prod projects that you put off for months and then you just do it and you wish you had done it longer sooner before sooner yeah what are those anyway else oh yeah haircut yeah today's the 2nd of June it's starting to get warm after doing the insulation on the walls which I guess is a success but without doing the ceiling it's not very effective all right I just I look at the ceiling I'm like I don't want to do it you know maybe I will someday I've got the insulation I just don't want to do it so anybody keep saying yeah do the insulation I'm like yeah whatever this is reflectix this is foil over bubble wrap insulation so let's take a look at that let me count the ways I like this stuff better already it's shiny it just looks cool it's gonna be very bright in here it's gonna reflect a lot of light yeah this is 48 inches wide by 100 feet all right so let's just get this up and get it over with and I get on with my day [Music] [Applause] now we just pull the slack back at work that's showing 97 degrees and this side is getting less Sun over here 129 30 degrees cooler it's kind of cool my ceiling vents I don't know I could say I'm a little bit disappointed but maybe they're working right there passive and so does you know he does rise I have noticed that in the vent area itself in the chimney vent the temperature there is cooler than it is out here so I think that is working a little bit okay yeah half an hour it's not bad it's like yeah 29 minutes plus all the talking this must be what it's like to be a baked potato okay both sides are done there's about a 1 foot gap on outer edges and approximately two feet gap in the middle that'll let the air circulate up there that's the theory anyway and I was slightly off it looked like on one side versus the other but again it doesn't really matter also stapling the plastic up here was a mistake I don't know really what I was thinking so a couple of them here I took the plastic off just to let the air come in the vents because it's like I covered up half my vents basically I was in a bad mood already when I was putting in the insulation so it's too soon to say but with the thermometer it's like okay so temperature is 96 degrees in here according to the little digital that I got so let's see and 96 in here that shows 95 at the ceiling and then where it's not insulated it's a hundred and twenty eight so what 20 20 degrees 95 105 hundred fifteen thirty degrees right math it's jihad from now so we have time to kind of settle out but I guess at this point it couldn't hurt right we'll just go with that couldn't hurt and while I was up there I did actually feel some air flowing from the vents so it is there is something you know seems like there should be but I think realistically my vents are way under sized the openings in them yeah good enough for now
