Dodge Ram paint job

foreign [Music] Network we got a good one today guys we're out here we're mobile we're at Platinum Auto one of the best places to get a car in Northern central Pennsylvania they got great financing great cars so we got this 18 Ram it's a bedside this thing is trashed it has just got Nicks everywhere uh chips scratches you name it even a little bit of rust in some of these some of these little spots so we're gonna show you guys today how to fix this you know right in the parking lot let's say you got a truck with a set or car with similar situation you got a panels just scratched up to death and we're going to show you guys you know the quickest way and easiest way to get an economical fix out of this and not you know go all out we're not going to go crazy with any 2K primer no body filler we're just going to do a quick sand and respray and try and smooth and flatten out that surface as good as possible get some fresh paint on it get some shine back to it and get it looking good again this is [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] as you guys can see we're putting on our first you know light coated base so you know as far as the prep goes you guys can see no primer filler no primer sealer we basically just use the factory primer that was already on bed and we kind of just feathered that out and got it okay prep job now we're doing our first coat we did it strictly over the primer spots just could just kind of get some coverage started because this coverage on this paint is terrible um and then we kind of started going up and down the bed up and down the bed and just kind of getting that coverage going you know this paint I had to do like four coats of paint and then one drop coat it was ridiculous so but yeah trust the process keep going with the paint keep calm don't pile it all on there at once and uh you'll get a good finish [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] there you guys have it it's finished product two full coats of clear still definitely wavy I missed a couple Dance I mean they didn't really pay me a whole lot to do the body work they mainly just wanted the scratches out and wanted it all one color and shiny which is mainly what dealerships go after so it's got a little bit of orange peel in it um it's using some fast dry clear um you know I was probably could have used the medium to get to flop just a little bit flatter but like I said standing five feet away you know this is like 10 times better than what it was and what I didn't tell you guys in the beginning of the video we actually sprayed the entire bed today they wanted me to spray the whole bed so I didn't get this side on film um I just wanted to film one side you know because this was a lot of extra work we got some really big dents out of it we didn't get all the minor little dings and you know like right there you know right there there's a couple other little dings in it but once again guys with these dealerships like I said they're looking for one thing they're looking to get something smooth and shiny you know scratches out you know little waves in the panel and stuff like that most of them really don't care the goal is with these types of jobs is to get these cars you know looking and looking good and presentable enough to sell you guys know this is not the quality work that we do back at The Body Shop you know doing the videos Network this is Patriot mobile auto body um you know this is nowhere near the quality of work that I do back at my body shop but for a parking lot job out here at Platinum Auto um whole bed whole bed both sides in the tailgate I am pretty happy if you guys were to do this at home you could probably go the extra step do a little more filler work a little more primer work and get this to look a little better and like I said you could spray this right outside um you know and still get some pretty good results but for me like I said guys with the process I did today uh you know 320 grit 800 grit smoothed it out as good as possible base clear done that is going to wrap it up for this video like subscribe new videos every week
