Wow, thatβs absolutely awful. He collapsed at basketball practice, waited 3 hours to be seen, and she was belittling him in front of his Dad. βOh, you canβt breath? You must be dead!β
I thought it was a dude until they said "she". Whoops.
There are a lot of asshole doctors.
Honestly, this is how drs treat women too much of the time.
I can't tell you how many times I've heard it's in my head.
Despite objective testing, and the opinion of multiple specialists.
Now, I've also had incredible Drs. (One when I was pregnant and could not keep anything down. Please may I have some zofran and fluids so I can just live)
But many, many Drs are suffering from compassion fatigue, or are simply misogynistic asshats.
My entire family is in the medical field and from their dinner stories make these sorts of things seem like a regular occurrence.
ER lacks professionalism. I started having seizures when my husband and I woke up one morning. He got me to the ER. Before they even put a blood pressure cuff on me must less examined me, they told him I was a meth addict and it was from that. When I got out of ICU, this 60 y/o raised some kinda hell! We were pissed! How about looking for the real issue.
Without watching a sec of the video, i guess the patient is either african american, a woman or both.
Pops, itβs still a problem if her behavior is based on racism. Sheβs a problem, period.
I've had this from nurses, doctors and even my own parents. Apparently all my pain and joint dislocations (and the other stuff like the reflux, fainting, vomiting, fatigue, sleepwalking etc etc) was all faked for attention. Even my hip pain and dislocations were faked even though I had congenital hip dislocation and severe hip dysplasia diagnosed at birth and untreated.
Thanks to all of them it took me 27 years to get my conditions diagnosed and it makes me very anxious when I need to see a doctor for help, so much that I've learned to fix all my joint dislocations myself and become very independent with my care and treatments, even fully managing my feeding tube only hours after it was put in. I was in hospital but I couldn't bare them faffing with it, I've got no confidence in any medical professionals thanks to how I was treated by them earlier in my life.
I still encounter a few drs like this but they can't affect my care now I have definite diagnoses. It sucks that others have to deal with this, it's awful having no one believe you
