econ 64 feels more like a super-sized version of banjo kazooie than it does anything else and while that should be a great great thing it's bound to disappoint a lot of n64 owners who had built the a lot of the other stuff in the show yeah Casey what do you think like why is it like that like trans people despite being such like a minority of the population like these days target of so much like vitriolic awfulness well that's easily explained by the fact that all of the all of the efforts that went into fighting against marriage equality all of those evangelical groups you know the folks on the family all of all of them they didn't go away people say okay hey we've with marriage equality now that's fantastic all the bad stuff is gone away it didn't they just changed tack now they're there they've explained quite openly how focusing on trans people is to basically rollback LGBT rights across the board by attacking trans people as the weakest link so that's that's why it's like you know 30 30 years ago you had the the section 28 in the UK you know that's it's the same sort of demonization so we're good what we're going through is it's nothing new it's there's absolutely nothing new Under the Sun it's just it's just the same old disabled thing because like even the bathroom debate you know ten years ago you had fierce fierce scaremongering in in the u.s. about gays in the military old old gays in the locker room you know so it's it's a it's it's just for the most part transphobia is just homophobia with the with the serial numbers filed off that's so sad this stuff might never leave just changes people will always look for this essay claim to attack yeah you you eventually make it to where it gets incredibly difficult for them to get away with hating on one group and they'll find some some other group feel like you know we see a lot of hatred hatred against groups like fairies and stuff a lot for a long time said that that's because it's not they can't get away with hating gay people anymore a lot of people in the ferry committee are gay they get yeah they get that yeah yeah yeah it is it is kind of like an attack on on queer identities by proxy I think a lot of that stuff I think I don't think much of it is clever strategy I think it all is just the same foolishness I think I just think it's an instinctive latching onto something that's safe for them to get away with hating and you know the happy knock-on effect is it will get to the other groups that they really really hate as well it's it's easier to articulate yourself against the trans mafia than in favor of some theoretical good thing you actually want to achieve which is what and it's it's also like the message is always the same it's they are different I hate them and it's a message at Universal yeah because the the end goal is I have to continuously whine about the trans people forever because if I ever stop raising this awareness then they'll be able to use the bathroom but they prefer and that's it you know and then I have to find you know but it's fascinating owl again look at any marginalized group over years and it's it's often the same kind of scam oh so I mean for it this goes back like a century even where we first started having with the did the workplace that sort of brought about that there were different bathroom codes things about that businesses have to adhere to and business would be like oh no it's too expensive to you guys need a female we make excuses very not wanting to have any sort of confusion so again you know say is kind of this similar kind of thing with with accessibility as you know disabled toilets it's often just the same kind of like no we don't want to include people it's the title it's kind of weird how I think it helps the bathrooms are inherently singers as private thickness even public baths you know you've got people could ever conceive it clicked off for the most part and so it's just that lens that air of your unloaded or anything that happened from there and you can extrapolate the sorts of terrible things without needing to prove a bloody yeah and we move on we've got one element on there if you take the kind of that kind of scary just I've been salted resulted before you know these issues really since women or these gender stereotypes you're targeting cases plenty of examples aha we're closer get the [ __ ] for going one bathroom if there's no real evidence for the problem everyone says it's a problem but there's plenty of evidence for the results of people thinking there's no problem creating a very real problem as a result almost as if there's as a problem as if it's [ __ ] and the [ __ ] has gotten people her hmm yeah I'm gonna turn the game down just so you guys could talk it's pretty loud and it's blaring and this is an important topic this is the point of the whole thing so yeah I think like it's really great that you're doing that you picked this specific charity because like like from my perspective like I think I'd I'm not sure I ever met a trans person in my entire life but so I do I never do much about it it wasn't just like part of my life I never attacked abysus somewhere and then I thought but I was working on a response video towards like this general like I'm sure you guys have seen this like a right-wing outrage when like the police officers much of the gay pride parade or like generally are supportive of LGBT people and in researching for that they come like I learned a lot about this stuff like how like the lack of trust between LGBT but especially trans people in the police and how much problems that causes like all around awful yeah I I think it takes it's very hard to really learn about these issues and that's one reason why I think the charity that its objective is to talk about it is important because there will always be people who need to be you know you need to be like had they needed a way someone to have that conversation with them like I didn't understand pronouns and identity in what the what the deal was until I like I've met an intersex person and and then like it made they explained to me it made sense and before then I just hadn't understood it at all and it annoys me to this day that I had to have that conversation with someone without just without just figuring it out on my own but sometimes you need someone who's good at explaining it and I appreciate that there are people who are willing to make that their job no one should have to but still oh I don't understand and I think the key factor is recognizing that that is the case that you don't know everything yeah and sometimes it is better to just like shut up and let hit by a topic the actual people who are affected by these topics talk and let them talk that sounds very just you shut up while they talk and actually learn something and that's how we've grown as a person myself over the years is it's a metering very little one can't claim credit for 84 it's other people who have the patience them to actually teach these things talk about these things highlight these things let big idiots know what the what they mean and what the different what what the different and positions on the spectrum actually represent yeah I very much agree with the with the concept of you know it's not your job to educate people like I no one should have to do it and it's sad that anyone that it's necessary for anyone to do it but I have nothing but respect for the people who choose to make it their job to educate people protecting women by making sure they can't work because that way that means yes that means you know nothing bad happens in the bathrooms of the workers like what do you need what are you saying this people on shouldn't have the same rights as other people because it puts them in slightly more danger like the danger doesn't like no one no one is safe it's the bathroom thing doesn't make any sense for your own good yes again ancient what if someone commits a crime like the crime is already illegal like it's not it doesn't make any sense it's it's the part where it's just the the arguments they made about about gay people again as the thing is like the the bathroom thing is the same exactly it just makes it so so blatant I just that's actually one of the contributions that are made to Sean's fever grant whereas in the film then it's it's showing him in a very heroic pose looking down yeah and it's like did no no no no God that did yeah but they can that not be how Rorschach sees himself considering that it's a self aggrandizing talking to himself moment like that's him imagining his ideal entrance as it were I don't know I think it's just the framing in the movie got it just like like this experience is that scene like is that is that rock like who else is like I think that's SIA Zack Snyder's like I I don't I don't get I don't get I don't get a point and I get it I like to each scene prioritize and is their perspective reliable you know is when the comedian looks back in time it is he objective is he remembering this correctly or is here is he remembering Vietnam was all watch certain things and go so like I don't know I was reading something as well around the same time and when I think about it like Bart Simpson's guide to life that I thought children's Simpsons haven't played it since the early 2000 never played us so this is the first time for me and I'm kind of I'm glad that they've retained the the original stage it's not it's not it's not on Twitter that it's not like a full remake like re - it's just more of a classic take on a remaster yeah it's and I love that it's it's a bit clunky but it's like it's like I likened it to new fancy new blu-ray release of clunky old movie it's like um it's it's like Robocop we did love the the the old stop-motion effects that gave it such character and I kind of I kind of love that they didn't try and modernize the game that it's it's it's there it's clunky with its so there's a non-emotional isse yeah Keiji Inafune a game which I always think kind of attempts to bridge the gap between survival horror and action but that kind of passion it takes some of the aesthetic of classic survival horror like fixed camera angles and some puzzle solving but it's not a horror game it's an action game it's something he kind of that they evolved to more with Devil May Cry and this is sort of almost a missing link between sort of early capcom survival horror type games and something didn't didn't folks have issues with game Kathryn because it has some dodgy trans representation but it's it's kind of in a weird place for me because when it came out he played about 10-15 minutes of Catherine I played back the first level importantly it's not really for me but I've been tempted to check out the re-release yeah [ __ ] you back him out in 2011 I remember hearing about us and there was a trans character in which I believe the issue was that was that the game's manual outed her and deadening her which means it's like the original name trans person was given so it's kind of its kind of like it's it's it's that's something that people take issue with and but the game interested me caught my eye initially because that because wholly to me at the time is just around the time and I kind of first came out like there like as bad as stuff is now there's there was scarcely any trans representation in with video games at all and it's kind of like holy crap here's a game that has an actual overtly trans character I want to see this I want to check this out so it's kind of like a lot of a lot of trans people do have issues with the game for understandable reasons but for me in the back of my mind there it's kind of like for so long so I've jumped all over house so even even that's the kind of weird thing for trans people even some very problematic our presentation is still representation kind of grab it's the same reason why you have a lot of a lot of people reading certain characters as trans even though they're explicitly nas or organ and you know have had their own um headcanons for certain characters I can recently this whole thing about Luigi being trans which was kind of endearing hmm yeah in in like in lieu of actual representation a lot of people just straight up claim claim characters from certain media as trans just just to have just to have that relatable experience and I did a tweet about this about how you know it's it's like it's it is kind so if you see I have spoke minor spoilers for the movie if you've seen John wick in the movie he has the nickname of the Baba Yaga which is it's it's a a witch character in Slavic folklore so this that's not that's because maybe it was his the nickname he was giving me before transition and decided to keep their farm name John wick as a trans man so it's it's an interesting way you can mmm can read something in there and then you know there's nothing really overtly in the script to say there's an e for any sort of thing like that but it's something that's there that somebody can easily pick up on and read read their own interpretation into and it's kind of nice to have a little bit of not if even if it's not real representation just a little bit of hey that's nice yeah you know one of the best aspects of art anyway is to read your own interpretation into things and get your own personal meaning from it so another John Lee's trends it's it's it's readable it it is it makes a certain degree of scent another thing that I personally found was in the anime another which not a lot of people have seen I think relatively like it's not that the most it's not the most well known anime
