[Music] all right hello how are you doing my name is Oto and welcome back to another video the pocket 3 for many users is probably the best camera that DJI has right now but it's not going to be the right one for everyone and some of you have been asking how it compares to the new insta 360 a pro even though we all know that they are different kind of cameras so let's talk about how they compare not only in ter terms of video quality stabilization and low light performance but also other important details that you should consider before you buy either one of them and before we start I want you to know that this video is not sponsored by insta 360 or DJI with the pocket 3 you're going to get a camera that is attached to a mechanical Gimbal and the main purpose of this is to make your videos more stable which has many advantages but with so many moving parts this is more fragile than other cameras and it's not waterproof like the Ace Pro which can go underwater up to 10 m without any special case the pocket 3 has a screen that you can rotate to a horizontal position if you want to and set the orientation of the video to match the position of the screen the Ace Pro has a front-facing display that will only show some basic information but the screen in the back is bigger than the one on the pocket 3 and if you need the front-facing display this can be flipped around completely but what I like even more is that it can be used in different angles which can be helpful if you need to use the camera in a lower position for example the insta 360 a pro has a 1 over 1.3 in sensor and this is where the pocket 3 has a clear upper hand with a larger 1 in sensor that will give you a very high video quality at 4K and a high dynamic range but Ina 360 gave the Ace Pro a like a lens with a very powerful AI processor combined with a quad vayer sensor that can record at a high resolution of 8K but this comes with a downside that it can only record using 24 frames per second and side by side against the pocket 3 at 4K I am not quite sure that you can see a big difference but if I zoom in over here you can see that the Ace Pro seems to retain a bit more of detail Tails but I would have to agree that the difference is not too big and using this resolution will not let you access the best features that the Ace Pro has to offer for example you can shoot in HDR at 24 25 and 30 frames per second which used to be applied automatically but this is no longer the case so you can turn it on or off to increase the dynamic range in your videos for a slow motion these two cameras can record 4K at 60 frames per second and I do believe that they look fantastic the Ace Pro can record in 120 frames per second using regular video mode and this will be more flexible for editing in post although using this frame rate will not let you use Horizon level on the pocket 3 the only way to shoot in 120 frames per second is to select the slow motion on the video mode the Ace Pro also has this feature and this is good for those who are not planning to slow down their videos in post for low light conditions these two cameras have a special low light video mode for those situations that will lift the Shadows to bring up the details and it will apply a denoiser at the same time compared to other action cameras like the DJI action 4 or the GoPro the Ace Pro has been quite impressive but the larger sensor on the pocket 3 is going to give you better results if we compare them side by side one big problem with cameras that have an electronic stabilization is this motion blur or vibration glitch effect that you get in low light the Ace Pro is the only exception that I know of right now that can almost completely remove that annoying effect and because the pocket 3 relies on its mechanical gimbal the videos will always be stable but this gimbo has some movement limitations that not Everyone likes the gimbal will follow your movements but this is done in a rather slow way especially when you try to tilt up or down so if you want to use this as a point and shoot camera this might not be the one for you since there is no way to lock the camera Direction and it's hard to explain but doing something as simple as this it becomes a problem with a pocket 3 when I try to do the same the camera takes quite a bit of time to get there to that position it's even worse because then there is kind of like some warning on the screen the Ace Pro also has this video Mode called free frame which lets you do some post editing to your video using the insta 360 app you can select the orientation of your video to make it horizontal or vertical or you can even have one of each for different platforms using the same original no video clip these two cameras have a 2X zoom function that can be used when you are recording on the pocket 3 you can use a slider on the screen or set the joystick to zoom in or out on the Ace Pro you can double tap anywhere on the screen to zoom but it will go all the way to 2X and this is another case where this is better than what you get with other action cameras and I thought that it was going to be the same against the pocket 3 but here you can see these two videos at 4K at 2x zoom and it looks like both of them are doing a fantastic job not losing any detail using the pocket 3 for vlogging we'll have this background blur that creates a more interesting effect but this cannot be turned off and some people actually don't like this and this is another point in favor of the Ace Pro which will have most of the background in Focus but some people have been complaining about being out of focus themselves when they're close to the camera and this is related to the minimum Focus distance on the a pro which is supposed to be 40 cm but after testing it out I found that the real sweet spot is actually around 60 cm so if you're using this for vlogging you should not use it too close to your face and try to keep that distance on the other hand the pocket 3 seems to be able to focus as close as 20 cm which is quite nice in my opinion another feature that you will find on the pocket 3 that the Ace Pro doesn't have is that it will record using 10bit Color using normal video mode or if you want to record using dlog M which is more flexible if you want to color gray those videos and post if you're someone who cares about the special features on this kind of cameras the Ace Pro has quite a few of interesting ones for example it has a pause record option so you can start recording a video and instead of stopping it you can pause the video and then keep recording as soon as you're ready to continue and this is great so you can have a single file instead of multiple ones that you will need to put together in post and besides that there is a very clever twist to this feature where you can go back to any video that you have taken in the past days weeks or even months and and you can keep recording to that video file as many times as you want there is another feature on both cameras where you can cancel the video that you're recording by holding the record button to avoid having multiple clips that you're not going to use because something went wrong and on the Ace Pro if you go inside the settings you can activate an AI assistant and when you're done recording it will highlight the best parts of a video clip but this can be used manually without the AI assistant part and for me the most impressive part is that you can make a new video clip using the highlights that you want in other words you can trim your videos inside the camera without using an app or an editing program the Ace Pro also has voice controls and gesture controls to start or stop recording or to take a picture which is fantastic for solo content creators and I can only hope that DJI will add these pictures to their cameras anytime soon but I almost forgot to mention that the pocket 3 has active tracking and this allows the camera to track a person or an object that you select yeah also very useful for solo content creators the insta 360 app has a lot of options to make creative video clips the one that I can't stop talking about is the AI warp effect that you can apply to your videos but it has some limitations for example you can only apply a maximum of four seconds at a time and there is a limit on how many times you can do it every month when it comes to the battery life the pocket 3 will last for about 2 hours and a half using 4K videos the battery is not replaceable but you can get this battery handle that you can attach at the bottom of the pocket 3 and this will charge the main battery up to 60% % but bear in mind that at $69 it is a bit expensive unless you buy the Creator combo which has one included the battery on the Ace Pro will run for about 1 hour and 45 minutes also at 4K but it is replaceable and you can buy extra ones for about $35 each testing these two cameras for overheating was done indoors with no air conditioning and no airflow and I I am happy to say that at 4K using 24 or 60 frames per second neither one of them had any issues the internal microphone on both cameras are good enough for everyday videos is there a difference is there a real difference 4K versus 8K is there a difference is there a real difference 4K versus 8K but if you want to have the best quality the best thing to do is to get an external one the Ace Pro needs this mic adapter that you can buy from insta 360 and the pocket 3 seems to be more accessible without having to use an adapter one more thing to mention is that the lens cover on the Ace Pro is not supposed to be replaceable I know it is but you're not supposed to do it okay and if something happens to it insta 360 will replace it for free during the first year but you have to send the camera to their location people have been really upset about this one so insa 360 maybe I don't know let people just do it themselves if you're looking to buy a new camera the first thing that comes to my mind is the DJI pocket 3 because of the large sensor the built-in gimbo and the high quality that it has along with the 10bit color but the Ace Pro is less expensive and it is a great choice if you need a camera that is waterproof that can be moved quickly to point and shoot or maybe you don't like the background blur on the pocket 3 at the end of the day they are different type of cameras so the idea of this video was to show you what you will get with insta 360 and DGI and I do have a video comparing the action 4 versus the Ace Pro on my channel make sure to check it out and don't forget to leave this video a like I hope you're having an amazing day and I hope to see you you in the next video bye
