DIY Rental Kitchen MAKEOVER Under $50 + DIY MARBLE COUNTER TOPS | AFFORDABLE Kitchen UPGRADE | 2020

hey guys welcome back to my channel guys so in today's video we're actually going to be doing my kitchen cabinets makeover i'm going to actually contact my kitchen cabinets with this contact paper right here that i end up getting from amazon and it cost me about 27 it's just like some regular black contact paper and this is what we're gonna use to actually start my um kitchen cabinets and actually start to do them over this is how the back of it look like a long it's pretty thick so hopefully this can get us through the first top which i'm sure it will and then maybe a little bit of the bottom if i have to order some more i will we're going to go ahead and get started on these i'm going to take off my kitchen counters with this screwdriver right here um and yeah i'm gonna take it off with this and it actually has like two heads so it has this head right here and then it has another side right here [Music] okay guys so right here i am actually taking up my door handles and my brackets that's on my cabinet door so we can go ahead to begin laying the black contact paper and yeah so we're going to do that and i'm going to show you guys how i lay it also guys my cabinets are flat thank god um i feel like when i see a lot of these videos that the cabinets be a lot more complicated so i am glad that my cabinets are flat and i feel like when they're flat they're just easier to do um but still you know it takes um you actually placing it in the right direction and you know creasing it down to make sure that everything is cohesive now the good thing with the black is that i feel like it's easier to kind of mirror together with extra pieces if you have to um put extra pieces down there it just kind of just seamly go together from side to side if you have to use more than one piece as you guys see i will be using two pieces and i'm just putting down the first piece flattening it out but as you see like i said before if your cabinets are flat and you don't have any ridges and stuff like that that will definitely help you do it a lot quicker and less stressful so right now i'm just creasing the size which is very important to crease your size to get like that nice professional look and i just love the way that this black contact paper look i love that it's a matte black because the texture really makes it stand out from just regular black contact paper so yeah guys right here i'm actually taking a separate piece and this is the piece that i was telling you guys about that just actually like looks good next to it if you even had to do two pieces so we're going to go ahead and leave a second piece and i'll show you guys exactly what i am talking about [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] okay guys so right now i'm actually going to get the scissors and i'm going to cut the sides in order to fold it down neatly towards the edges so it can be a seamless look and i'm just going to take my thumb and just go along the edges and just press it down firmly so i can crease it really nice so yeah guys and then i'll take the excess off and i'll just take the scissors and cut the excess off and it's just that easy i just use scissors to do it because i didn't have a um razor or whatever so i just use scissors to do it and it gets the job done just as much and i'm just going to finish each side and finish just creasing each side down so it can look really nice and neat so [Music] to [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so guys right here i am actually having my husband drill some holes inside of the cabinet for the handles and that's what we're doing right now and behind it what we have is some tape to actually mark where the holes were because it just would show up with the permanent marker with black on black so that's a good tip if you guys would like to have it show up on the tape so it's easier to mark once you guys put the holes in there you can just put the template over top of it because it's clear and you guys can see it so as you see we are drilling holes inside of there to make sure we get the best fitting in the right measurements for the handles so yeah so guys this is how the first one is looking [Music] [Music] okay guys so i want to come over here and talk about the drill bits that we're using um we're using this drill right here to actually start the hole we're using this one to start the hole with okay and then the one to finish the hole is going to be this drill bit right here and then that's just a screwdriver okay and then also what i did guys i ended up getting some tape to actually put over a cabinet to actually mark the holes with a pencil and stuff like that so um that'll be nice to use especially if you're doing black cabinets because they don't show up because they're not white so this is good to just kind of put over the template right here to actually drill the holes inside up to get that precise measurement so yeah the handles that i'm using these are actually the newer modern handles that you see in the newer modern apartments so i decided to go with these they're very very gorgeous very nice and it's like a chrome finish as well like i said it is about four and a half inches wide and they're pretty long and i just love that you can just you know take it and hold on like that instead of the one knives so i like that a lot and each come in a pack like this and the nails come in them too as well so yeah i got 10 of those and we're going to use all 10 of them and also make sure you have your pencils to actually do your marking for your handles for your cabinets they come with long ones too i just put the longer ones in here so whichever size fits your cabinet is the ones that you can use [Music] hey [Music] so i just wanted to come on here and say how excited i am about these kitchen cabinets um i'm super excited i just i'm just blown away about the results and i'm excited to show you guys so we're going to do some before and [Music] my kitchen is kind of slanted so it's kind of hard to um do like a full view but these are the bottom cabinets and this is how the drawers are looking very very nice i absolutely love my new kitchen it looks so good and these are the bottom cabinets and what i did again we screwed these cabinet knobs on there that looks really amazing and i got them from amazon and they were about 15 and it just turned out really really really nice this is how it looks when the lights are off looks just as beautiful i'm so proud i'm super excited guys comment down below if you guys plan on doing your got this marble contact paper from amazon as well and it just looks so good on the black and it just definitely just creates a vibe and it just looks so pretty love the way everything turned out it looks really good we didn't really take nothing to do the counters as you see the counters are not that big but it's big enough to have decor and stuff like that so i hope you guys enjoyed today's
