hey guys thanks so much for being here I really appreciate it today I'm going to share with you some budget friendly Mother's Day gift ideas that she's really going to like so if you want to know how to make them stick around I show you how and I'm going to be giving the printer away that I did in two videos ago so I'll be announcing the winner in the middle of my video and I'm giving away two more printers so stick around I hope you do thank you okay for this first one I'm going to use some folkart chalk paint in the Adera white color I'm using two planks that are 3x7 from Dollar Tree and two trays that are 4 and 1/2 by 6 and 1/2 from Dollar Tree and just go ahead and peel all your labels off and then I'm just going to really quickly paint these and I'm going to paint the inside the backs and the bottoms all of them and I'm using a pretty thick paintbrush that um holds a lot of paint at one time but you want to make sure that you get your paint pretty smooth and you do get in all the corners and in the opening around where the handle goes and it took me two coats to get this completely covered and then after I got halfway through it I decided to use a sponge instead now if you watch my video on the tools that I used this sponge is an easy way to paint and it does make sure that everything is smooth I mean you don't get any brush marks or anything and it goes on so fast you can get everything painted a lot faster than you can with a regular paint brush to distress it I'm going to use folk art Parisian gray chalk paint and I'm going to use a chip brush to put this on now I'm going to take a paper towel and I'm just going to dab some of this paint on my table and I'm going to brush it onto my brush and then I'm going to brush it off so you don't want to try to get as little on the brush as you can so you just have some little streaks on it not Globs of paint so just go ahead and dip it in your paint dip it onto your um on your paper towel to kind of wipe off the excess and then start distressing it and then I'm going to distress all of the pieces both front and back and you definitely want to get all the edges so kind of get heavy on the edges a little bit more than just the sides to assemble it I'm going to use some wood glue now you want to Center your little panel right there on the side and these little um planks they come in a little package I think you get seven or eight of them in a package at Dollar Tree but again it is 3 in by 7 in and I'm just going to go ahead and put some glue on top bottom both sides and then smooth it out with a popsicle stick and then have a paper towel ready so that if anything is oozing once you get it put together you can go ahead and clean it off now I'm just going to clamp this together with some just dollar tree clamps you can use anything just to hold it together to clamp it and since the wood is real thin it didn't take a heavy clamp to clamp it and then go ahead and clean any excess glue off at this time now don't worry so much if you do still see a little bit later we are going to touch up with paint where that glue is but you're going to wait till it dries completely and then we're going to add our other um other little crate right above it and you want to do these at the same time so so that you make sure that that things does stand straight up and we're going to put our glue exactly the same place we did on that one and then smooth it out with a popsicle stick and then go ahead and attach it and just go ahead and clamp it as well and then just let this set to dry until it's completely dry and then we'll do the opposite side just make sure it is lined up at the top real good because once that glue dries it's complete I mean it's not coming back apart now that that side's dry we're going to do the opposite side now you want to go ahead and put glue on both the top crate and the bottom crate at this time after I put my little plank on I figured out I couldn't get to the opposite side so do both of them exactly the same time go ahead and put your glue on both of them right now and then go ahead and clamp both of them together but just make sure that they are lined up good and then set that aside and let it dry good okay but do spend some time getting your excess glue off before it does dry especially in the inside part there and then we'll paint over what we can't get just take a small paint brush to touch up where you got the glue cuz you don't want to ruin the distress look that you already did just kind of lightly go in there with your real skinny little paintbrush taking some of that same white chalk paint and I bought these little succulents over at Michaels they were like 98 cents and I'm just distressing the pots with them and they came in these pots and I'm just kind of lightly going through this I'm not going to completely do these I'm just going to lightly distress them and I'm going to do that for all four of the little plants and just keep um taking your paintbrush and putting it into your um paper towel to kind of get the excess off because you don't want too many big um Globs of paint when you're doing this next I got these little Farmhouse stickers from Hobby Lobby and I'm just going to put one at the top and one at the bottom and I'm just going to put the word um Farmhouse at the top and I just bought this so they do have these now just go ahead and apply it right to the top part there and then I'm going to pick another one for the bottom and then I'm going to mod podge over the top of these here and just a little bit just kind of get it smoothed out real good and for the second one I'm picking the one that says is make yourself at home just kind of line it up you know just eyeball it to get it even and then make sure they're rubbed on good and I'm just going to take some mod podge and I'm taking matte finish mod podge and I'm just going to cross both stickers all the way across onto the wood as well it up a little bit I got these little corner pieces on Amazon I'll give you the link for those and I'm just applying one in each corner with some E6000 glue and some hot glue and then I got some little Brads from Amazon as well and I'm going to put those over that hole as if it was a screw and I'll show you how I'm going to cut those off here in a second but just going to get Each corner okay next to fake the screws I'm just going to take these little Brads I'm going to cut the bottom of them off or the Brad part of them off and just the top part now you will have to go ahead and on the back side of these push these on down with your um wire cutters because they do stick up a little bit and then we're just going to hot glue these right to each one of those little openings okay next I'm going to add some 3D glue dots to the bottom of my flower pots and the only reason I'm doing this is because I'm going to mail this if you're not going to mail it you don't have to do this part but if you are shipping this out to somebody it'll just keep everything in one place while it's shipping and then I'm just going to put three of the Little Flower Pot the Little Flower Pots onto the bottom and then I'm going to put a one of the Little Flower Pots on top with the bigger flower pot and you can put whatever you want to inside of this this is just a real cute little display and then if they want to take those flower pots out the glue dots are not going to mess up your um paint and then I'm just going to do use some plastic wrap to wrap these up so just some regular clear plastic gift wrap cellophane now this is not shrink wrap this is just regular cellophane and I'm going to go ahead and turn my little flower pot over or my display over and then I'm just going to wrap the um cellophane around the back and tape it down and then I'm going to tape down the bottom of it as well just kind of fold in the sides like you're wrapping a present and then tie off the front the top you know with a nice ribbon and then I always use a rubber band to tie around the top part just to hold it in place until I can tie my ribbon and and then just tie a nice bow this is a cute little um present you mean they could put anything they want to in they could put um in the bathroom and put soap and things like that in it's just a real cute little Farmhouse display let me know what you think this next one I'm just taking one of the Dollar Tree little vases and I'm going to spray paint it with a matte white paint next I'm going to start with some white jute twine and I'm going to start kind of right at the neck where it curves up and I'm going to start wrapping this now I'm going to go all the way around till I get to the very top and then I'm just going to um glue that off so you want to make sure that you're um real real close together here just try not to overlap but just make sure that they do meat as you're going around and then kind of just randomly glue as you're going up so that it does stay in place and then when you get to the top go ahead and cut your string off and then go ahead and glue it in so I'm take another piece of that jute I'm going to go ahead and tie three knots at the bottom of this and then I'm going to string some beads to hang off of this and then after I get them strong I'm just going to tie them right around the neck of the bottle okay then go ahead and cut the end off and then we're going to go ahead and glue that in and then go ahead and wrap it around your jar and then we're going to go ahead and cut it off and then we're going to run the cord down through the rest of the beads to hold it in place and then we're going to add some glue here in a minute put a little bit of glue onto your Jud and then it's a little bit easier to thread through just run it all the way through as many beads as you can I think I ran mine through three and then we're going to spot glue it up at the top and then we're going to glue it to the bottle just go ahead and squeeze it right on up there okay next I just got this little butterfly embellishment and I'm going to put it right onto the front next I got these little orange stems at um Dollar Tree I got four of them and that's what I'm going to use in my Arrangement and I'm going to cut the little stems just a little bit shorter by about an inch and if you can't find these stems at Dollar Tree they have at Joann's Fabrics as well and I'm just going to put them inside my vase and then I got some white flowers from Hobby Lobby and I'm going to pick off a few of these to put into there as well just kind of randomly stick them in between the oranges a little bit to kind of dress it up is how this ended up looking this is super simple I mean you could use any kind of flowers you want to just paint a vase you know put some twine on it decorate it up with some embellishments and then I'm just going to um shrink wrap this now I'm not going to get a bag that goes all the way to the top of the flowers I'm just going to go up to where the flowers start and that's where I'm going to start shrink wrapping so just going to take my heater go ahead and start shrinking it around the vase and then I'm going to tie a real pretty bow right up around the edge so you just going up to the neck on your shrink wrap just so it holds everything in place and then I'm going to go ahead and take a um orange and white polka dot ribbon and I'm just going to tie it around right around the neck of it and then when they after they open this if they want to put that ribbon back on there they could just tie that around the neck where the Jud is it turned out really pretty with it on there and this was a simple one and it was very coste effective I think this one turned out so pretty this one's super simple just painted a vase decorate it up a little bit add your favorite uh little flowers or your Decor into it this one is an easy one to do okay congratulations to the winner of the printer that the manufacturer picked and now I'm going to go ahead and pick two more and I'm using Tu buddy to randomly select from the keyword printer now if you are one of the lucky winners today you will need to leave a comment in the description below so I can comment back with my contact information for you to send me your address okay congratulations to the winners thank y'all so much for participating in our drawing I really appreciate it for this next one I'm taking three spoons Wooden Spoons that I got at um Ikea and I'm coming up probably about 3 in from the bottom and I'm going to tape them off now if you're taping off on your um blue tape make sure that you do get it straight and then I'm going to tape all three of them in exactly the same place next I'm just going to take some white acrylic paint and I'm going to paint these and I'm using a titanium white by folkart and then just take your paint brush and brush downward don't brush upward when you're by that tape because you don't want to get any paint underneath it just keep brushing downward and you get them completely coated now it took three coats for these to get completely coated to the color I wanted and make sure that when you're down at the bottom that you do um paint through the hole and everything just get them completely covered and you're going to do that with all three of them I'm making mine all three the same color you could make them different colors if you want to and next go ahead and remove your tape now I'm removing my tape while mine is still a little bit damp I always do this just to make sure I don't peel any tape off with it just go ahead and get all your tape removed and then we're going to mod podge these with some dishwasher safe mod podge and I'm using a dishwasher safe Mod Podge this is specific for dishwasher and just go ahead and coat it I'd go ahead and do one coat let it dry real well and do a second coat now I would highly recommend not putting your Wooden Spoons in the dishwasher cuz it does ruin them but this does protect it for hand washing and then just make sure that you get every bit of that paint covered and again I did two coats on these so let it dry real good and then do a second coat to gift this I am taking a cutting board that I got for $15 at Hobby Lobby these cutting boards right now are really popular for decorating in your kitchen and then I'm going to take two dish towels that I got from ikia and I'm just going to fold those up and put those across the front and I'm just going to diagonal these and then I'm going to take my spoons and I'm going to lay them evenly across the front and then I'm coming in with some Greenery to put between them and I'll give you the link for the greenery I got that on Amazon okay of hold this all together I'm just going to run a ribbon underneath this and then I'm going to crisscross it and then we're going to tie our two ribbons together on each side and to package this I'm putting this in a large shrink wrap bag I'm just going to go all the way till the bottom and then I'm going to tie around where the little handle is and then I'm just going to take some tape and I'm going to tape the corners to the back just tape them right back there so you have less to shrink wrap and then go ahead and come around to the bottom part and put a rubber band around the bottom and then I'm just going to shrink it and if you use one of the embossing guns if you keep it on low heat it works a lot better you don't burn your bag but just kind of Go Fast don't concentrate on one area for very long so you don't burn a hole in it but usually you can do these pretty easy without burning them up I'm just going to take some of that same green ribbon and Tire a bow right at the bottom all right that was a pretty easy one and it sure did turn out pretty let me know what you think in the comments next one I'm taking a scrap piece of wood and I going going to measure 8 and 1/2 in by 6 in and then I'm going to take my speed square to mark my lines and then I'm going to cut this out so I got these little candlestick holders these little wooden ons from Hobby Lobby you get five to a pack and I'm going to use those for my legs and I'm going to go ahead and sand out the center of them they have a little bit of um roughness inside of them I'm just going to kind of clean them up a little bit with some sandpaper so I'm going to paint all of my pieces with some black chalk paint and I'm just using the sponge brush on this and I'm going to end up doing two coats on these and then this is the um black chalk paint that I mixed up last year where I showed you all the video on how to make your own chalk paint and this is the one that was made with the calcium carbonate and it still is in great condition it did not dry up so if you want to make your own chalk paint I'll leave the link for that video below and for my piece of wood I'm going to paint the bottom and the and all four sides and the top now you want to go and make sure that you are are running straight up and down with this going with the grain of the wood and this little um Sponge brush is really great because it does not leave any kind of brush marks and it does lay down paint real fast and it cleans up easy too I just take it to the kitchen sink put some soap in it and then just kind of squeeze it and you can clean this almost quicker than you can a paint brush it's dry I'm going to go ahead and distress a little bit and I'm just going to take a sanding pad and I'm just going to go ahead and do Each corner and the top all the edges is what I'm going to do with this just kind of you know take the paint off of it a little bit just to kind of distress it up a little bit it gives a little bit of definition and do the corners as well okay to assemble it I'm just going to use some wood glue and put it on the top part of each one of these legs and I'm putting them into the corners and then you want to let this set up and dry real well now don't worry if you get a little bit of glue ooze out on the on the bottom of it I am not going to clean off the edges of it I'm going to come back with a paintbrush and paint it and then just get all four legs glued down and then just let it set up until it dries it's dry I'm going to go ahead and paint the bottom of the legs and then I'm going to paint around the edges where the glue is showing just kind of touch it up a little bit next to package this I'm just going to put a plant on it and I'm going to put an all-purpose cleaner now that's from the Dollar Tree it's a peppermint cleaner and it smells so good and I'm just putting this down into a shrink WRA bag and just get it centered in the bag real good go ahead and pull it up and then I'm going to tie a rubber band around the top just to hold it together and then you're going to take some regular tape and tape the two corners up underneath the bag and then I'm just going to use an embossing gun to heat seal this now if you keep it on low temperature you won't risk burning your bag and it and it works pretty fast and just kind of work quickly don't stay in one area for any length of time just kind of move it around a lot and then you'll make sure that you do not burn the bag okay after I get it all heat sealed up I'm just going to tie a ribbon around the top part and tie a bow that's pretty much it pretty simple and I did cut the top of the bag off a little bit my last one I'm just taking a regular terra cotta pot and I'm going to paint it now this is a good one that you could get kids involved into and they could paint the flower pot any way that they want to but I'm using some white chalk paint mixed with some water and I'm going to take my sponge brush and I'm just going to kind of distress a little bit I'm not going to cover it completely I'm just going to kind of go around if you get too much paint on it you you can sprit some off with water but just kind of getting it covered real good and then I'm going to come back in with a couple other colors just to kind of make it look like it's aged and then I am going to go down into the um center of the flower pot just on the top Edge and then cover that in and then I'm going to come back with another color I'm just going to use like a mineral color and I'm going to start dabbing some of that on with just a sponge brush go ahead and get it wet as well and then just take your um brush or your sponge and then just kind of sponge it on and you could do these pots however you want to but it does give it a little personalized um gift if you do take some time to kind of decorate up a pot and I'm going to do a saucer to match it as well and then I'm going to come in with some sage color I'm going to mix it with the mineral color and then I'm going to dab it on as well this kind of just gives it like a moss look to it like it's got Moss and um dirt on it it kind of Ages it up a little bit and I'm just kind of randomly putting this more on the bottom than on the top and then I'm going to do the edges as well and if you get too much of the green you can come back and change it up and then I'm doing my saucer exactly the same way and I'm using those exact same colors and then I'm going to put a um rosemary plant in mine you can put anything that you want to in yours um or you could just put some candy in it if you want to and let them put what they want to but you want to go ahead and spray this with a clear sealer after you're done to make sure it does um the paint does not come off hey this is a great gift for anybody because you did take the time to personalize it if you like these kind of videos be sure and give me a like subscribe and ring that Bell to be notified when I have a new video upload thank you so much for being here I really appreciate it
