hey Mom hey there friends thanks so much for joining me if you're new to my channel my name is Diana and I Garden in a Zone 5B in the greater Toronto area and I wanted to show you guys that I was finishing up my little garden pathway here I'm making sort of a a cottage like pathway it's all different pieces different sizes kind of mixed in together to make it work and I let it sit on the grass for a few days see if I like it and if I want to live with it and then I just take my little saw knife and I go ahead and I just make an outline all the way around it lift it off and then I take my shovel and I start removing the grass dirt whatever is there to make a little indent in the ground and go ahead and then just I put I just put the stone tile whatever I might have back in just to make it fit and the point of doing that instead of just laying it on top and sort of walking on it which is fine if you want to is I want to be able to make sure that I can mow the grass around it well it's going to be clover but I want to make sure I can get my lawnmower through there and go over things and make it nice and neat and keep it tidy and so making sure that the stone is actually set inside the lawn makes my life a little bit easier and so the test to make sure it's done is just to sort of stomp on it and move around and that was it so it worked for me and I was moving on to the next one so I'll let you guys watch and see how this turns out and I was pretty pretty happy with it so it's a lot of work I did this over my lunch hours I would do two or three at a time so this took a few weeks and um well maybe not a few weeks maybe a couple weeks but I did do a few at a time and I would do them in the evening after work and that sort of thing so um I'd had to break it up with other Garden tasks it's not the most fun job but um it was definitely satisfying and it felt really good to get this finished up that's for sure talk about breaking up the garden jobs this was another lunch hour and I had to go ahead and fix the garden beds on this side at this point yet I hadn't decided if I was going to go ahead and extend the garden pathway all the way down what you're looking at right now so I thought I better just fix this Garden up make it how I want it before I start putting in a little pathway and then I've got to move the pathway in the future I don't really want to do that so I knew I had to fix this garden bed up a little bit more expand it a little bit make it a little bit bigger and you can see that I'm just doing things by eye I don't I don't have any type of whatever to mark it out I don't use any spray paint I just go by eye and I check it so you can see that there is you know um a spot right there for that last few pieces to go in and then that's going to finish off all that sort of spots there where that mud is that's going to look nice and finished off and then I'm going to be moving on to cleaning up around the Roses here and around my little Miss baitman uh Claus and then this plant here I always forget how to pronounce it but it's um kind of like a Vine but it stays close to the ground and it sort of has an orangey red Bloom to it it's called Nur nerum I don't know I don't know I'm sorry I just don't know but the other side is also going to get cleaned up you can see there's a lot of like just wild grass growing there so I've got to pull all of that up and get that cleaned up and hopefully once this is done I'm going to be feeling pretty good about not having getting uh not having the walkway finished just yet [Music] so here it is the pathway is now officially finished here it is from one side looking upwards and onwards to the back end of the garden and it looks gorgeous once all that Clover grows grows in in between those stones it's going to be amazing and I'll definitely update you guys to show you what it looks like because we'll have a lot more defined edges and borders and it's going to be so much prettier than just plain old grass it's turning yellow I wanted to show you guys the back end of where I decided to finish the pathway so right here is where I decided to finish it I did not want to continue it onwards to the rest of the garden because it just sort of opens up and EXP fans and I wanted to make sure that I just had it in the parts that I really wanted it the most the most narrow areas of the garden which were right here so that's how it looks and I'm really happy with how it came out and I just cannot wait to see all the Clover in between growing and just I really wish it would just happen by tomorrow morning there it is it's so pretty I know we just looked at it again but I have to look at it I'm really happy with it and then you just do a little bend around the corner that creeping jenny is going to grow in and there it is it looks really pretty and now I'm going to go ahead and and on another day another lunch hour or after work I'm going to have to finish up the garden beds here sort of straighten them out not straighten them out but fix the edging that I did because I kind of go by eye or whatever sometimes I make things a little wonky I also didn't even finish up this side at all I haven't even touched that area at all so I have to focus on that I have to fix that up and clean it up and just kind of make it nice and just make it a little bit more flowy and right there where I was pointing at I had a lilac I've taken that out and I've moved it and you can see where I have to go ahead and sort of clean up that curve it's a little bit too pointed so I wanted to bring that curve out a little bit more and give it a nice little choot just a nice gentle shoot finally I got the Privacy fabric off on the fence facing the other side it was time for this to come off I knew that everything on their side would be completely In Bloom and I would have total privacy again which is the reason why that went up because we were clearly able to see into their backyard and into the other neighbors backyard and vice versa it had to something had to happen also Charlotte was very interested in the neighbors so this kind of helped deter her for a little bit and now she shows no interest whatsoever thank goodness when they're outside she's not being you know nosy and barking she's doing that to the other neighbor instead so that's that's what it looks like now I hope you guys um I hope you guys like it I was pretty happy with it too how it looked I did have to go around and rip off a little crazy a few little crazy Vines that were going nuts growing underneath it and I threw those down onto the ground and you'll see at the end that I just went around and picked everything up and cleaned it up and just made it look nice and tidy and neat again and I'm really happy with it I did keep the I did keep the liner in case I want to put it back up again for the fall and the winter but we'll see what the garden looks like by then and if there's any more you know privacy updates along that fence it might not be necessary but for now I'm going to hold on to that fabric [Music] I hope you guys enjoyed today's video thanks for watching
