hey guys this is Aiden Struve with true family farms we're out here today disking up some organic cover crop we have some oats and peace' planted in this field that we took over for the first year this year and we're out here disking it up kind of just a pre plant pass I got most of the field this up already but just got a little bit to finish up here so we planted this cover crop about the 1st of April very end of March 1st to April and so it's had about 45 days to grow and we have about a foot of growth on it the peas did very well they came up and between the piece and oats everything pretty much outran the weeds we do have some weed pressure down in here but that's why we're disc until the little weeds that are growing right now are obviously going to be killed before we plant our corn here and hopefully about a week so we're out here just disking it up we got 48 40 with our to 35 disc we're running about 4 inches deep the soil is a very good moisture everything's breaking up real nice and it's not very cloudy or anything so it's going real well and yeah that's just kind of what we're doing out here today we'll be doing videos of this field and all of our other fields throughout the season so you guys can kind of see the process and what all happens in an organic field in here so thanks for watching and we'll talk to you guys later so I just wanted to give you guys quick from the tracker cap the disc is doing a very good job of getting underneath of all the cover crop and weeds and it's getting a good clean slice bottom so you can see the dirt action it's throwing that dirt and getting everything sliced off so that none of the wheats will survive and that we can get a clean termination of the cover crop so that we won't have anything to compete with their corn crop and we should have a pretty clean field there's quite a few weeds in this first initial pass but we're glad that we got those to germinate early on before we got our corn planted so we're running in about five miles an hour don't want to go too fast so that we don't ridge up the field but this should do a good job of getting everything sliced up and yeah getting us ready for corn so thank you guys
