all right so today's job is digging out a pond for a client my dad was free and as you can see he has a new truck and uh i have a new truck so talk about that a little bit later but basically we're going to be taking the material from a little pond we're digging here and bringing it back to my house uh for phil so let's see if we get the trailer back there [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] be [Music] so all right so i just started digging this pond here um this side's gonna be about one foot deep all the way up until this connection here and then it's gonna swale into about a four or five foot depth center and really i'd kind of continue this if i was just doing this to pile all this stuff but since my dad's going from trips back and forth to drop off the material i kind of want to prep it a bit faster so what i'll do i think is just start on this side and just start stripping pushing it into a pile on the other side and uh with the front end loader and then i will have it prepped so that i can sort of just take it from the pile at the edge of the bank over here and then put it in the trailer hopefully that'll work [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] do [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right there goes the last load of dirt out of here i believe we had a total of nine trips so it was about 36 38 yards worth out of here my estimate was around 30 yards but i didn't realize we'd be digging the extra pond over there on the side so yeah came out good over here i dug a trench for him to put in electrical because he's going to be using a pump in here to cycle the water over as i said in the smaller pond it's going to have natural algaes doing the filtering and that's going to flow back into the bigger pond came out really good i think he likes it and uh i like it and we think it'll work out nicely [Applause] and uh luckily just like with the farm job i was on this is all sand and uh originally i may have mentioned this was a sinkhole was here so they had back filled it with a lot of sand anyways so it was nice and easy to dig went by quick realistically i dug this thing pretty much in half a day it was mostly just waiting on trips for bringing dirt out so next the homeowner he wants to put in liner here get it measured and put in liner and with the liner he wanted to put large boulders or stones around it to hold it as well as for landscaping um so i had told him that i have a bunch of extra rocks at my place so i might be coming back to this job and bringing some rocks and boulders from my place here to help him with the liner and get this set up a bit more so i'm hoping i'm able to come back and do some more work on this and get it looking nicer and i think it's going to work out well for him in the end time to go home so here's where we dumped all the soil and fill from today you can see about nine loads in here but this is great because this whole area was really swaled down and i really wanted to get it up a bit more level so i can put a shed over there and get this filled in nicely to have access to the shed so whenever i get a free moment i'll have to spread this stuff out oh boy
