Diecast Rally Car Racing - Event 2 Qualifying pt. 1 - DRC Championship

[Music] welcome back to the die 3dbuttmaker rally championship season 2 event 2. it's qualifying time six new drivers will be competing to see which three will join big air dylan in the championship rounds i'm really curious to see who will be able to challenge dylan in the big air department up first we have bobby johnson driving in the launch zero three seven it's nice to see some group b cars out there yeah watch out with group b rally cars comes group b action bobby drops looking good so far over the first jump he's got some speed oh that was not good i think he might have broke something i think he might have broke someone oh why is that guy lying on the ground right there that's not good bobby johnson still managing to get some air after that road kill of a run he gets a time of 18.568 seconds that's nothing to write home about it was a killer run it just wasn't that fast we've got a photographer down no one seems to be helping him surprise surprise everyone's on their phone someone get the medic down here please or the coroner let's see what happened bobby johnson was going really fast got his tail end off the side of the track it looks like he broke the camera and the guardrail forget the camera he broke the photographer you just hate to see something like that happen especially so early in the competition let's look at it one more time though nothing says group b rally like fans getting run into yeah if you want to relive the golden years of group b rally there's probably going to be some casualties and that's why you should make sure you pick up your big air night go ahead up next we have jefferson coolscrank in the porsche 959. you know i was watching him do some practice runs before today this guy is ice cold on the track he's like a machine hopefully he keeps it on the track and out the fans i hope they cleared everyone out of that space nope there's still one long photographer he is a brave man this one is looking good for coolscrank riding the final corner he gets his front end up but not the rear but he gets a decent time of 16.656 seconds not a bad start for cool string coolscrank representing for the germans and team porsche he got some nice air off that second jump look right here he definitely has more weight in the back of that car well it is a rear engine car so that makes sense here's that final jump he gets a nice smooth landing and jefferson cool shrink will take the lead with that 16.656 second time keep in mind all these drivers will get a second attempt to set a faster time up next we have randy mcrally driving in the citroen c3 wrc randy mcrally doesn't he make maps no that's rand mcnally this is randy mcrally he does rally racing then who's ronald mcdonald that's the creepy clown for mcdonald's okay i get them all confused randy mcrally not looking the fastest out there maybe he needs a map playing it safe over all the jumps and that's no error get him out of here hey now we don't boo the driver he deserved it mick rally gets a time of 17.208 seconds he seemed to be playing it safe this round but i think that was a little too safe but he wasn't the slowest so i guess it wasn't too bad yeah but at least bobby gave us some action well hopefully we'll get some action here with marcus fire gone driving in the subaru wrx sti marcus going fast into that first quarter here he goes over jump one a little loose there but he's holding on to it slowing down slightly through two now he's picking up the pace come on daddy needs some big air he's cooking now here he goes oh nice that's what i'm talking about and he sticks the landing dylan might have some competition yet and look at that time [Applause] 15.854 seconds we have a new leader now that's what i'm talking about the first real big air of this competition look at that that's beautiful that subaru seems to be well balanced to make that jump look at how level and even this car was in the air it's really nice to see them landing the big air jump this time here it is again a perfect arc on that jump and a fast time to boot marcus fire gone you're currently here with that time of 15.854 seconds we've got two more to go for this first half of qualifying up next we have ellie j driving in the hyundai i20 coupe wrc this is the first time a hyundai has taken the track on the 3db maker channel lej a little all over the place there she's coming to jump too let's see if she does through the final turns this is a tricky part a little understeering and ellie j slides to a finish on top of the hill she does make it past the finish line setting a time of 17.134 seconds she will have a chance to try to improve on that time in the second half it was slow but she's still in third place right now so it wasn't too bad yeah i wouldn't count on that time lasting though last time we saw a lot faster times in the second half of qualifying here we go with our last drive of the day leroy mcqueen driving in the ford rs 200 another great group b rally car right here a llama sliding through that first corner up and over the first jump a lot of back and forth on the track he's having trouble controlling it coming to the second jump smooth landing looking good let's see if he can get some air here comes leroy mcqueen to the finish hey and lee will get some air there with a nice smooth landing leeroy mcqueen gets a time of 17.202 seconds that is going to currently put him at fourth place his steering was all over the place if he can keep his car going straight i feel like he might be a good competitor i think that could be said for a lot of the drivers today let's take a look at the current standings we have marcus fire gone on top with that 15 second time underneath him jefferson coolscrank with that 16.656 second time and ellie j at 17.134 seconds all six drivers will get one more attempt to improve on their time the top three will be joining big eric dillon in the championship the only one i see so far with potential to even try to challenge big air dylan is marcus fire gone in the subaru i think there's some more potential out there especially from the group b cars we'll just have to wait to
