Did zoom fix the F2 after 1 year? lets see.

did zoom fix the f2 uh there was a video out about a year ago by all the stuff we do uh he's a small channel but he actually reviewed the zoom f2 uh there was a lot of problems with it and he made that video back in january well i had ordered this thing and then watched this video big mistake right so i was actually looking for another audio recorder something to get me by until i can get the one that i want as you know the tascam is having some issues that last video i made actually towards the end you can hear it cut in and out so right now i actually have the lab mic going through the foresight recording all the audio through obs right now and not the tascam but i figured for 200 it's going to be great it would be a great field recorder for whenever i go out of the studio and then i can just get that other one that i want here a little bit and for the studio but now what i'm going to do is take a look at this thing a year later from his review and see if they have the same issues going on or what have you i but we're going to go ahead and take a look there's a lot of stuff about like this thing here we moved it there was a lot of static stuff uh they're saying that the battery case that was a hard thing to get off of and where the sd card goes in play and then i guess people are complaining about where you know this hip thing to go onto your belt buckle or whatnot so we're gonna go through this real quick take a look at how well it sounds how well it don't sound and we'll we'll take a look at it all right guys so one of the things that it was they were saying like this clip here it's really taut but you know what i don't mind that for the fact that you don't want to be walking around and this thing be loose and then you can't you know it falls off all the time and then you're sitting here so i i know everybody started complaining about about this but i don't have a problem with it um it's it's tight and you know it's not going to go anywhere the other thing too is like this cover right here comes off now getting this battery cover off as you can see i'm struggling with it and every time i struggle it's almost impossible to find a place where you can guarantee it open smoothly and you just have to keep tugging at it and eventually you might hit the jackpot okay and you're saying it has a hard time coming off but as you saw it just come off real easy for me so it looks like they kind of fixed that part of it because all i've got to do is just up there and it's off uh there was a lot of concern and problems with people trying to get this this cover off and it uh comes off fairly easy so it looks like they kind of fixed that part of it the uh the other issue that they're saying they're having is you know sd card replacement now don't get me started on the sd slot this thing is very very flimsy and the card is very difficult to take out it's almost impossible to get hold of you have to kind of just pin some movement and then ultimately you will probably drop it so changing this in the field is definitely not advised make sure the card is large enough to keep you going all day because otherwise this is going to end up in the grass or the sand i'm sure of it yeah it's in a really really really bad place so trying to get that thing out is a pain in the rear rear rear rear rear rear end so needle on the record the other thing too is so i don't know if i was going to do it until i get in post but when they move this a static static goes along with it but this is the problem as i move this around you're going to hear the track that was recorded underneath this overdub now this is a real problem now you think well i can it's not a fair test because you didn't do the locking thing up so okay let's do that up let's just make sure that is nice and tight there we go nice and tight now let's try that again so obviously that's not that is going to happen again and this this noise is loud if you've got this thing in your pocket and you should accidentally move against it push against it it makes a noise you know so if you bump it they're static or not i don't know if they fixed that or not we'll find out in post if they did that if they did fix it so the other thing too is so this is what it sounds like i'm going to go ahead and put the mic by my vibe on my mouse and this is what it sounds like uh on the on the mic so now it's stopped so the red light but the other problem they were having was that that red light wouldn't go off it wouldn't it wouldn't stop recording okay i've uh just noticed a another issue that i'm having with this at the moment i'm recording live on it now as i'm filming it so um i'm going to press the record button which should stop it i'll try the stop button as well but i may cut off suddenly so please excuse me so as you can see it's not stopping the recording i'm going to press the stop button no it's not stopping it now this is going to take a while to do and i may just cut off suddenly but it's kind of registered the push of the button but uh not actually actioned it yet let's see how long that takes even when you flip it off it wouldn't stop recording what they had to do actually was pull the batteries out and once they pulled the battery out they actually lost lost the file that they were recording so i will go ahead and show you the sd card now so the sd card comes out but it's really a pain in the rear to get out so they haven't fixed that yet after a year it's kind of disappointing because this thing's been out for a year and i'm sure i'm sure that people complained about some of this stuff and they haven't fixed it yet so kind of uh curious on why they haven't but i don't know i'm really kind of was excited now i'm disappointed so think about sums that up we'll we'll do uh we'll do the final take and give you my three cents and we'll just go from there all right guys so those were the three things that were actually an issue over a year ago it looks like they've only fixed the one which was the battery case compartment that's the only thing i see that they've actually really fixed uh until i get into post on uh the buzzing sound so i'm going to go over to the comic-con mic on the zoom right now because i forgot to do it over there so this is what it sounds like with the comic-con mic i'll figure it out in post and what i'll do with this audio clip is i won't do any kind of fix or anything with it like i do normally with my audio so this is actually just the raw audio right out of the zoom with this comic con mic and not the lav mic so we'll see if it sounds any better than the other one it looks like they really didn't do any fixes i still recommend not getting this i'm not even going to put it down in my affiliate link down here because i'm not going to take advantage of people to buy this thing even though it's 200 you know and i do get a kick on it i'm not gonna i will never ever tell you guys to buy something if i don't feel that i will buy it and keep it so therefore this is not going down there in my in my description to buy but for 200 i thought really i was going to get a nice little 32-bit float for for here and out in the field and it's just not it's really disappointing to me and i really wish really wish that they would they would get their head out of the rear ends and zoom i mean zoom's great and believe it or not i'm actually looking at another tascam because that zoom that i want 750 now instead of 700 and that tascam they just came out with is 500 bucks so when i get that one out if you guys want i'll do a little thing on that as well so let me know down in the comments if you do but anyway i'm still on this zoom we'll take it from there and i know there's a short one it's meant to
