DID WE FIND A 2ND RECOVERY TRUCK?

should we make a tow truck out of a Humvee or how about a bob deuce that might be a candidate hi there welcome to BSF recovery team well we're heading on a little bit of a road trip here not necessarily going antiquing yes we are well we might stop at an antique store or two yes yes a friend of mine's an off-road shop 4x4 shop uh Slash junkyard so to speak and uh kind of looking for something we'll let you in on that later well seat covers on antique sign so we better stop take a look an antique store in an antique barn oh you like those windows huh oh look what we got here that's a tow truck an old square body tow truck look at this chew it should we put a old pay phone in the garage [Laughter] yeah it's actually a replica oh look at this I think Veep and jeeped like that I think they won we got Abby in the back seat and Mars in the weather seat well it was all it was 81 yesterday too and today is high uh right now it's 47 with a high of 57 and it's raining now not a real good day to go look at things outside but we'll see what happens maybe it'll clear up [Music] [Music] that's right we're here and we're gonna uh take a look at some trucks see if we can need actual parts we got axles look at this guys [Applause] [Music] and yes there are Dana 60s in there axles everywhere [Music] oh look what we have here [Music] I'm guessing that used to be a recovery truck too foreign [Music] we might have to squeeze through and take a look at that [Music] yep four-wheel drive thank you [Music] there's a 60 under it [Music] [Music] the same control panel I have in my truck well that's a thought too [Music] the thing about this place unlike some of them other places everything is for sale out of all the stuff that's here Marla likes this one the best [Music] thank you I'm thinking that could make a really cool recovery truck what do you guys think yeah this thing's got some cool stuff on it I'll try and shield you guys here ah you like from a recovery standpoint I've had a few of these in this foreign how good does it get it runs the entire width of the bed in there right and I seek it but that's some of the stuff these old 715 category trucks had you know right that's kind of become a story Jimmy obviously for the extra parts that came with it yeah stirring some other stuff that again he bought we weren't ever supposed to be doing any of that part of it we were getting this going uh-huh it's been another couple years after that what do you think guys an m715 for a recovery truck this one's a little bit different though you notice the difference hardcamp no canvas goodness convertible tow truck or anywhere around here right that's right we wouldn't want that but uh I want it I got all the pie pans and the grill for it inside you know how much that stuff's gotten up to for Value they started stealing it how did you get this one but I had about 10 of these or parts there of them here and I had two of them stalled and then I I had two other ones I jumped quite a few over the years and maybe 10 15 years ago let's keep the grill it looks cool nobody there's no value there Christ I sold food to a guy in California thank you that kind of makes the look but again if they're going to steal them very well like I said remember everything out here is for sale so if you see anything you like give Citgo a call seat cover found another antique store remember when oil came in cans like these and this one it's still full well we didn't get anything there well here we go another stop I don't have pins oh were they popular in the 70s well we didn't find anything there either well what do you think did we find our second recovery truck I think I did you think you did I think I did and which one would that be I like the m175 Gladiator oh you like the Chevy square body too so the one that's just like this one yeah yeah um I kind of like the Jeep truck it's uh unique I don't know if you know um but that one was supposedly a forestry service truck it's hard to find out information on that but it's got a civilian cab there's a civilian style cab with the hard top and the normal civilian Dash but the rest of it's the m175 military style truck I don't know there's a lot of people that have built clones the story is is that there were some built for other government agencies that were the civilian camps I don't know if that's true can't find any information on that well since you're giving me all this information on this m175 Jeep Gladiator I think since you already have a tow truck I think I want this m175 and I want to be different from you oh I see so you want this one to be your tow truck yes and you don't want it the same as mine no I do not mind I see that's how this works huh yes okay well I don't know um it is a unique truck I think it would be uh a real eye catcher if we build it right so that's a good possibility we'll have to uh we'll have to think about that a little bit might do have to do a little research I'd really like to know if it was built that way or if it is a clone um I noticed on the side of the box where the fuel filler neck goes through the box it has a smaller hole than most of the military ones so that makes me kind of think that the rumors might be true okay it does have some pretty good sheet metal on it it's all straight and uh not rusted through anywhere oh that's good so that's not so much work no I think we could actually make it a pretty good looking truck oh just like me yeah you know this truck's going to be a lot of work to build because it's just a rolling chassis right now well that's why I have you all of it for you no no I want to build it you're just gonna tell me how oh yeah and pay for everything I see that's all that works the other thing I do want you to realize is it's probably going to take us just like Matt it's probably going to take us almost a year to build this truck that's okay with you I'm okay with that you're okay with that all right well okay well we'll make a decision I I just want mine to be meaner than yours oh really yeah if you want it to be more of a beast than mine well yeah because I'm not gonna have a big wide rear end and I'm not going to head Boulders and rocks and shattered mountains okay I suppose next you're gonna tell me you want it to ride smoother than this oh definitely definitely has to ride smoother than this one it has to I see well that's pretty tall order yeah well you can fulfill it can't you we'll try well we got friends that built records recently so yeah
