Dialogflow ES & CX. Which is for you? (UPDATE 2021) Botcopy's CX integration is live!

hey rob here from bot copy a quick reminder of who we are bot copy is software that connects google cloud dialog flow to your website we're big fans of dialogflow and all of our customers use it by definition but recently google released a new and separate version of dialogflow so if you go to their site you're going to see two options dialogflow cx and dialogflow es aka essentials so which one's for you well dialogflow es is the original version of dialogflow used by more than a million developers big enterprises and fortune 500 companies use it in my experience many of these companies consider it to be the gold standard for conversational ai and again keep in mind that until very recently dialogflow es was just called dialogflow so how is cx different from es well cx has a visual flow builder this can make working and dialogflow feel more accessible it offers a state-based model letting you define rules for how your bot behaves and it separates the flows within your agent so that multiple designers can work at the same time now that's a great feature for big teams working on big projects however cx is still in beta and it's missing things you might need it has telephony integration but that's it plus it doesn't have rich media components just simple responses if you're building for telephony cx may be worth a try but if you want a rich custom chatbot on your website es is the way to go that said we're impressed with cx and we're working on our cx integration for a late 2020 beta release until then we suggest you get started free with a dialog flow es account and a bot copy account if you have any questions please let us know
