Detailing The World's Smallest Supercar?! | The Detail Geek

[Music] hey what's going on guys and welcome to the video now today i've got what i would call a pretty unique vehicle for you it's a 2010 smart 42 that is clearly having a major identity crisis i'm honestly not too sure what to think about this car so let's take a closer look at it and you guys can see for yourself all right well obviously the first thing that jumps out at you about this car besides they're only being half a car here is the paint job i guess it's a custom color and is apparently a lamborghini orange in a matte finish but right now it's completely covered in mud i'm not too sure what happened here maybe it was an act of vandalism or maybe the owner had some fun with it either way though it's going to be satisfying to get that sprayed off provided my pressure washer doesn't tear it apart moving inside now and it looks like i'm dealing with some dirty carpets and floor mats and a good layer of dust all around the entire interior but just before we dive into cleaning one of the most unique vehicles i've ever done take a second and make sure you're subscribed to the channel so you never miss out on one of these epic transformations each week all right guys well with this being the second smart car that i've detailed i know exactly what to expect today that being a very quick detail some pretty cheap quality interior components and a whole lot of laughs along the way all right well getting to work on the smart car now and it's already bringing back visions of the one i did last summer i'm guessing right now this detail is going to take between six to seven hours which would be one of the quickest i've ever done but honestly it's a nice change of pace to do something like this every once in a while even though i already know i'll be fighting with the cheap carpet a little bit later on [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] now as i blast more of the mud off the car i wanted to remind you guys that episode 11 of the studio build series is now live over on the second channel the detail geek 2 we're almost at the finish line and that means it's time for me to tackle a whole bunch of my own projects like the countertops and drain pit grading so make sure you guys check that one out everything is coming together really nicely and looking fantastic [Music] so [Music] do [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay with the car all foamed up now i'll take the opportunity to use my boar's hair detail brush to agitate in and around all the crevices like the door handles tail lights and behind the gas door to make sure i've gotten any trapped dirt or debris lifted out [Music] turning to the floor mats now and with some of my carpet solutions sprayed on i'll then agitate with my green drill brush and then blast all the dirt and debris out with the pressure washer and unlike most vehicles the floor mats in here are just as bad as the carpet inside the car in terms of quality usually floor mats are more plush but these ones definitely are not and are only about one step above the cheap velcro leg stuff [Music] [Music] [Music] now as i work my way around this carpet you can probably already tell that it's really bad quality as it takes several passes to get the debris unlocked from the fibers and into the vacuum so i'm thankful these carpets weren't dirtier because it would have really slowed me down if they were [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] starting on all the trim now with my detail brush and i figured i'd give you what little bit of background i have on the vehicle so i wasn't able to get too much out of the owner but he did say that in terms of the car he'd always wanted a smart car and i guess after investing in bitcoin a while back he finally had enough money to buy one and then obviously took it a step further and modded it a bit with the custom paint job body kit led lights on the interior and of course the aftermarket wheels too but he said the car is his baby and he undoubtedly gets a lot of heads to turn and comments on the car i know i had multiple people comment on it in the short amount of time i had it on the driveway [Music] do [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] moving to the driver's foot well and even though these carpets aren't all that visually dirty there are a few dirtier areas where they need to be extracted to get them perfectly clean but don't let the before and afters fool you even though they look almost unchanged the water pour will tell the truth as there was definitely some dirt hiding in there [Music] here's the dirty water pulled from the smart car today and it's honestly not even gross this time [Music] turning to the tiny little tailgate now and it might surprise you to learn that the engine here is actually in the back of the car and it's a teeny tiny one liter engine pushing a whopping 70 horsepower which is powerful enough to get this little buggy to 60 miles an hour in about 15 seconds or so [Music] starting on the leather and for that i'm using my new detail geek leather cleaner which is tough on dirt and grime but gentle on the leather and with my leather brush in hand i'll be sure to really get into the seams as that's where dirt likes to collect and the nice thing about this cleaner is that it foams up to let you know it's actually doing something unlike some other leather cleaners on the market [Music] my [Music] [Music] okay to protect this kind of cool matte orange lamborghini paint color i'm using my new graphene spray coating which is super easy to apply and will leave your paint with superior
