[Music] hollar ballers what's going on his preacher and I'm finally able to bring to you patch 5.4 the destruction warlock the meatiest class and I say class the warlock is the meatiest class of this expansion and has been for several patches however one of the more surprisingly lacks in terms of information on the Internet is exactly how this warlock works which is weird what are the other classes have so much more info flying around and so have one of the most respectable and desired classes in the entire game when it comes to PvE solely under representations are underrepresented in terms of actual knowledge and how this class works and how best to push it to its limits so hopefully we can alleviate some of that today in our little discussion here we're gonna go over the basics which is your gearing and all that but then more importantly going to tell you how the spec works so you can get the most out of it I would say going towards warlords of Draenor this is probably going to be one of the most unchanged specs I'll go out on a limb and say that as we go into the new expansion I think they're pretty happy with what they've done with the warlocks after the big revamp we got a mists of pandaria we'll be surprised to see any major changes going on here so destruction warlock book works on the idea of generating burning embers we're going to use various spells to create these burning embers they're going to be representing down here on this UI still kind of getting this you use to this UI and as you'll see as we cast various spells and whatnot will generate burning embers and then of course everybody knows this casts the big chaos ball will use our burning embers in order to deliver meaty damage so obviously a nice simple way of thinking about this is we want to generate as many burning embers as possible so we can cast more things using burning embers and they're all leaders to higher DPS so let's jump into the basics and stuff Talon specs are always variable guys I want to put that out there there's some things that work on certain fights some things that don't okay no longer can we be assured of the best talent generally doesn't work out that way anymore there's always an opportunity to say this talent works better here or this talent works better there so I'll give you a general idea of what I recommend so Lynch is just generally pretty damn good you incinerate fel flame we're going to be casting so many sin right cow's faults that we get the shadowy shield absorbing ten percent of the damage dealt our cows bolts are going to start hitting for clear over a million pretty regularly I'm going to show you how to do that even with low B gear later in the video so bearing nine ten percent shields of over a million all right pretty good model coil I just love it but of course there's got to be a shout out for shadow fury alright that ability to see see various mobs comes in very handy in the siege of Orgrimmar where we'll be dealing with lots of ads and various of the situations where that AoE stun can save some ass on a regular basis a low 45 a lot of people like to rock with so link I totally fine I agree I've been trying out various different things every time I make one of these videos I try out all the different talents just to sort of assure myself I know what I'm talking about so link would be my default choice I'm going to switch it over right now yay Oh lovely don't you just love you iOS the best aren't they so link obviously I'm going to be using grimmer supremacy which is going to give me that wonderful opportunity to keep my pets out so song it's going to be very beneficial to me I'm going to keep that there well 60 burning rush tends to be the one people go for however what I've seen is if you're comfortable with your character burning rush is more than fine right if you're comfortable with switching burning roshan and then switching it off fine all right fine but what I have seen is I've I've witnessed more than a few warlocks recently using burning rushing and just standing still with it working and do draining their health although they're not actually going anywhere so building rush is there to be used it's pretty fantastic unbound will it's not underestimate the power of purging or magical effects moving impairing effects and all effects which cause loss of control of your character or demon yes awesome absolutely awesome but we're always handy as well five seven maximum health will inactivate an enemy again trying different things out don't find much useful blood horror unfortunately but burning rush non bound will certainly going to have their place level 75 these going to come to terms with choice between generally grime or supremacy or grime or of sacrifice okay sacrifice is generally better if you're doing multiple target a away simple as that nothing more that you need to know but if you're doing straight single target Goro supremacy tends to work out nicely and the fact that your demons change names to just better things is just awesome in my opinion as well that is just the way it is I look at my fellow hunter and I see my nice observer flowing around here I love that and just a little bear in mind for those who you're interested you do use your fellow hunter while you are playing destruction of course if you're using sacrifice you'll still be sacrificing your fellow hunter to get that bonus all good a level 90 you would think that it's going to be Archer ones darkness and if you're going if you can guarantee you're not really moving around look very much and just do it straight up single targeting you will get a DPS increase from arch ones darkness there's no doubt about that however siege of Orgrimmar not exactly a friend of standing still as many of you will know moving around is kind of a prerequisite of rocking the siege of Orgrimmar so kil jaeden is cunning has its place on more than one occasion a lot of people and always bear in mind guys when you look at things like sim results sim results can be very misleading okay a lot of people say well you know if you stand still and use lladros darkness the sims are saying you get better DPS yeah of course they are because they don't take into account general human and randomness that does occur in various encounters we've all had those fights where suddenly we seem to be the target of absolutely everything kill James culling just comes in very handy this bear a lot of fights going on the cg program either have things like knock back so being able to cast that incinerate and still be casting it why are you getting knocked back I personally think he's pretty awesome so I like kill James culling but there is an argument there for arch Mons darkness your glyphs sick as and boring and and useless and I hate them and in fact you can actually see that I'm going to be switching this away pretty soon because these aren't the glyphs I would recommend for anybody I don't like them there's always a fart for ember tap you know heals you for 5% of your health boring so I'll resolve this is actually pretty good I'm not going to argue too much with eternal resolve it changes your unending resolve can no longer be activated but passively provides 10% damage reduction so this a lot of fights whether it's just constant damage being wailed down on your character generally not a big problem for warlocks anyway especially if you're rocking the talents we talked about earlier like soul each generally not too much of an issue for us warlocks but if we do have constant incoming damage then eternal resolve is going to clean really nicely as complements you kaká wait no longer requires immolate to snare the target Wow boring if the glyphs are just guys I'm not going to lie to you the glyphs are crappy boring so pick whatever you want you're not really going to have too much of a problem you're really not going to have too much of a problem just try to stay away from havoc have except just a baby has to have on a longer cooldown we're going to be using havoc in some really awesome ways so don't worry about that too much you minor glyphs again nothing really important there's a walk over water I believe if I'm right it's in here somewhere cliff nightmares is it your dread Steve your fails Tina dread so you can cross what Allah ruining and leave a trail of flames yeah exactly by boring no good so how do we play this and what are our stats ok so you might think a lot of these things are actually affected by critical strike reading more than you probably realize because you see here these things that generate Chris generate burning embers we've got EMA late we've got incinerate we've got complicate and you'll see the bomb now generates burning embers critical strikes double this effect so your instinct is going to be I need a lot of critical strike ok I need a lot of Critias going to double the amount of members I get and then you told me the beginning the video preacher that that's going to help out a lot so what you see here are same with immolate but critical strikes generate burning embers incinerate critical critical strikes double the effect so you're thinking quick quick quick quick quick not quite not quite that's what we go for instead of critical strike raising is mastery okay we're going to creating a lot of mastery ring and that's going to be reflected in our gear we're going for like mastery gems and our yellow slots hit mastery wherever possible and this is a question that's caught up a lot is preacher why are you recommending things like hit mastery when I have so much hit on my gear that I'm just reforging it away just to jam it back in that's because when you're reforging away you can put more useful stats in okay it's far more useful to be gem extinct mother stat so what we're actually trading in gems is some hit and a useful step while reforging away that here and getting more useful stats that is the idea we want as many variations on hit gems as possible so we got hit mastery their expertise mastery there and hit mastery really cool to get as much hit and stuff and another secondary useful step in honest gems as me as much as possible and then getting away from hit wherever we can on actual gear because we can turn that into more useful things we generally doubling up on our useful things our mastery this is the reason our Astra is far more reliable consistent and useful than the critical strike chance critical strike chance is great absolutely fantastic no complaints we get double the embers however our mastery is just going to be far more effective and it also has another effect as well increases the damage of MLA incinerate fel flame and conflict by 21% on my character here and then it also increases the effectiveness of burning EMA consuming spell so we're getting all that bonus that goes into our chaos bolts all that bonus that goes into our shadow burns okay we're getting all that extra bonus all from mastery whereas crit is helping us generate them but what we actually want to do is make sure that when we fire off those spells were actually getting huge amounts of benefit from this and that's your gearing and stuff right there so how does it work single target is actually very easy but and this is a big bot there's a caveat that comes with playing destruction and that is that we need to wait Destruction warlocks and blocks in general have a wonderful wonderful ability to wait until they are most effective before unleashing their army of death which is in terms chaos bolt and shadow burn so especially you're going to want to use something like tell me when are we chorus okay this is a very simple one I've set up for this video which is just tracking my immolate all right you can see I've got my main spells there which is the shadow burn to let me know that this targets dropped below a certain percentage of health got my con flag fire and brimstone we'll talk about soon Dark Souls bring a fire havoc and more importantly this one down here now this is actually tracking school banner school banner school banner is incredibly important while we're playing destruction all right school banner is very very important it's crucial that in some fashion you know very clearly when somebody in your raid has casted a school banner because that's going to give you massive bonus towards your chaos balls okay so almost as important as getting sort of a huge mastery proc or a huge critical strike chance proc you see care spell always critically strikes in addition the damage is increased by a critical strike chance so anything that buffs out including your mastery you want your casts ball to be involved and cast it at that time because our lovely Demonica burning embers actually take time to fill up we can track them and we can store them until these things occur obviously if we're about to cat burning embers we're going to go ahead and get rid of them or no we don't want to cap them and just sit on burning embers we want to be ready and raring to go when we have big props though all right so when that school banner is dropped when we get that huge prop from one of our trinkets all that kind of stuff that's when we want to cast them on until then we're just building and storing our burning embers we're going to keep immolate on our target okay so you've got a nice buff there bear in mind again what we said about that critical strike bonus and what your dark soul does okay very much so I've cast my dark soul there you can see I get this critter increased remember how dots work you want to be keeping an eye on a dark soul because while that buff is up from your dark soul all the critical strike bonus which is now at like 30 40 % especially in a raid he's doubling the amount of embers we're getting from it okay a same with it all this while you're casting spells under the effects of Dark Soul you're actually generating so many more embers because of that critical strike chance doubling effects we talked about earlier Dark Soul very cool so make sure you're recasting things like immolate just before Dark Soul runs out to keep that big buff critical strike chance immolate ticking on the target as much as possible so we're going to keep him away up obviously you want curse of elements if no one else is providing it stick it on the target as much as you want can't fly keep a track of conflict it has two charges but you don't want to sit on two charges because you're just wasting embers and you're filling with incinerate very simple okay I can't get this across enough is it's very very simple we're just keeping immolate up we're casting incinerates we want to make sure we're using our calm flag we'll get this backdraft buff don't cast chaos bolt with three stacks of backdraft or above okay and other than that which is chilling we're just building embers we're not doing anything else we're just burning embers generating them keeping Emily ticking simple simple stuff guys if we're about to cap we'll go ahead and we'll get rid of the cows boulders to user number but all the time guys when you're playing this class you are waiting for the opportunity when your chaos bolts will hit the hardest as simple and as easy as that everything else is just wasting time generating resources oh it's not quite happened yet here's a chaos bolt for your face mister I'll cast it now because I'm going to be generating another one now it's all about patience patience I see a lot of people come to me with that destruction warlocks and their two guys very similar they're comparing themselves to going the raids why is this guy getting things like 1.6 million chaos bolts and I'm not getting that that's because he's simply playing the waiting game your instinct when you get a burning embers oh I can care spot I can chaos spot oh but my Dark Soul just came up for the other guy right my dark soldiers came up he's been chilling and now he has this massive critical strike bonus and his chaos balls every single one of these is hitting for so much more and this is why your skull banner is so important because quite frankly adding on an extra load of critical strike damage onto a spell that can guarantee crit that's important guys that is very very important okay very very important you're going to take your time with destruction really allow it to do its thing really allow it to wait play the game just build your embers waiting for either Dark Soul or waiting for things like skull banner to really hit home every single time with those chaos balls and you'll start seeing dramatic amounts of difference now in a week what's up discussed this briefly because most of you will have seen some crazy AOE going on a Wii is where the game gets switched up the single target plays very slow and very steady very slow very steady if we have more than one target we're definitely going to want to using rain of fire okay luckily rain of fire has been changed so if you use a single target it's the most trivial trivial DPS increase ever and more than likely will lead to a DPS loss because you're trying to keep it up I would say something like it tell me when are we car just to track how long ratify last very nice wire AoE to keep that rain of fire ticking consistently note that rain of fire is actually a buff on yourself brain pawn rain of fire how does it work and why is it so important that you need to know don't think I'm nerding out here you need to know this rain of fire deals 50% additional damage to the target if it's immolated okay now you need to know that rain of fire has a chance per hit of generating one tenth of a burning ember okay a chance per hit that's how it works okay so just firing off Reina fire on one target gives you a very low chance of generating some kind of burning em you can see it's not actually moving at all there okay we have a chance of doing it mixing two targets and your chance is double of generating you can see now it's starting to do something obviously the more targets we have in the reign of fire the more burning ember charges you're going to get and when we're up to like four or five targets you're going to very very consistent very regular burning embers just flying in allowing you to being an infinite burning Ember mode if you're only fighting like three targets you're going to keep rate of fire up for the reasons we just talked about you're going to keep your immolate going and all we're doing really is just generating a lot of burning embers and we're going to start using havoc okay havoc of course doubling our ability to fire off things like chaos bolt shadow burns incinerates and also as you can see that everybody seen that happen in a raid right guys I'm a talking to you seen those care spots flying around just be very aware of your raid leader getting a little bit pissed if you're doing something like Paragon to the clock scene you're just completely padding the meters by using havoc in such a way but is it's all good it's a whole good don't worry but if you are fight you saw two or three targets you just got to keep immolate up you're going to keep your reign of fire up very easy to track using islands like this and you're going to be using your incinerates and you're going to be watching waiting all the damn time for when things get low so you can start using some shadow burns okay when you get to four or five targets again with the Ring of Fire this is the time that you activate your fire and brimstone okay fire and brimstone is basically your switch your toggle your lever fire and brimstone your immolate incinerate conflict and curse spells consumer building ember every time you fire them uses a burning ember and deals 50% of their normal damage where it hits everything okay everybody seen that guy firing off party incinerates at once and thinking warlocks yeah that's going to be you that's going to be you so I really recommend you try this a few notes on this all I can say about fire and brimstone is your keep rain of fire up you like to make fire and brimstone and you're essentially going to be using your single target rotation because your single target rotation now hits everything simple as that quick tips if you're down to one burning ember one you're being a bit of a newbie if you know an AoE fight is coming you should have at least two preferably three burning embers ready to go alright so make sure you can set up your AoE effectively and you want to be keeping immolate Calm fly and incinerate up now immolate on its own doesn't really generate a great burning ember amount so if you only have the one burning ember in your let's say you only have your one burning ember ready to go trying to open me something like a con flag get your raining fire down use a burning ember con flag okay that's still going to hit everything but what it generally does is a con flag is very bursty and we'll give you another burning ember or one or two and the rain of fire will be ticking on top so you can then get off your burning ember immolates all right and then you can start doing your incinerates and so on you can see what the incinerates do there but if you're not hitting enough targets and you're not keeping your Reyna fire you can run out of burning embers and note that fire and brimstone Auto cancels which is why you can see I have this up to let me know that burning fire and brimstone is on and when it's off okay a lot of people I see a wing on their wall arcs and they don't have fire and brimstone active but usually because they activated fire and brimstone they only had one burning ember then they used Emily fire and brimstone instantly deactivated and then they went into a single target rotation thinking they're a wing when actually they're not alright when actually they're not very simple air to fall into so let me jump into a raid right now I'll jump into some LFR just to demonstrate a lot of this stuff in action I hope that helped you out guys see you later bye
