um i'm gonna break from uh doing a series i want to do this for a while but um i i love the scriptures and the problem with being a pastor people always ask me like how do you come up with all this stuff in your sermons it's not what goes in it's what i take out because there's so much information and we could sit here for hours and talk about this stuff and so i just absorbed the scriptures and there's been so many messages that i've wanted to to do and i've just always been in a series so i'm just going to do a random thing this summer where whatever the lord is speaking to me and just some some passages i've been thinking about for a while um we're gonna cover those so i just called these i called this non-sermon series random is what i called it because they're just random things that god has placed on my heart so a couple months ago i read this really fascinating interesting story about a guy named michael packard and he is a lobster fisherman on the east coast and he's kind of one of the last ones because they're doing it different now but he literally dives down with scuba gear and and picks out the best ones and uh he it's really fascinating because he knows which ones are healthy which ones aren't um and he had a really interesting encounter and it says in something truly biblical packard was swallowed whole by a humpback whale we've heard this story somewhere all of a sudden i felt this huge shove and the next thing i knew it was completely black initially packard thought he was inside a great white shark shark week but he couldn't feel any teeth and he hadn't suffered any obvious wounds it quickly dawned on him he had been swallowed by a whale i was completely inside it was completely black i thought to myself there's no way i'm getting out of here i'm done i'm dead all i could think of was my boys they're 12 and 15 years old outfitted with scuba gear he struggled and the whale began shaking his head so that packard could tell he didn't like it he estimated he was in the whale for 30 to 40 seconds before the whale finally surfaced i saw light and he started throwing his head side to side and the next thing i knew i was outside here's a picture of him in the hospital after this all took place and i'll be honest just my weird mind my first thought was i hope you came out the right end buddy like that was my first thought because you know that the ones better than the other but one is this proves that it's possible that it's possible and i believe that god because we love stories we love stories stories give meaning to points spiritual points god is the og of storytelling he loves a good story but the scriptures always point to a spiritual reality it always points to him so that's what i keep telling you guys is i've studied the early church fathers they they took the the scriptures in three ways they took it uh historical to find the history of it and then allegorical and finally the spiritual like what's the main thing and here's what i mean by that like i i do believe this story is true we're going to look at joan and the whale i believe this story is true but i also know in the in my heart of hearts when when things are stressful in my life or things are going bad or or i'm confused by something i never wake up at one in the morning thinking was jonah a real person like that never that's not what the main point is the main point is there's a spiritual point behind all this that that reaches generations and it reaches from all the way back then to 2021 so my goal is to always show you the spiritual of these so we're going to look at a story of jonah that was in the old testament but it was also talked about by jesus which means it was a very important uh story so i entitled it deadliest catch in honor of shark week but really the point is is it it costs jesus his life for us to live but man was god's greatest catch it was god's greatest catch and so first we need to break this down because we've got to have some history here but israel was god's chosen people that is true they were his chosen people but sometimes we get this mixed up of why he chose them like it can become kind of this arrogant thing and now you know with with the words like election and all kinds of stuff in the new testament we can miss what it was all about first off israel was not chosen because they were this grand nation they were the weakest of the nations they weren't the best they didn't know how to fight they didn't know any of those things so god didn't choose them because they were this these wonderful people he chose them because they were the weakest nation so his grace could shine the best and so the main reason he chose one nation was because he needed one bloodline for the messiah to come out of he needed one nation for the messiah to come out of it wasn't because they were better it wasn't because they were more loved it's because there's one messiah and his name is jesus and so what the jews miss though and if you can read this in the new testament with galatians 3 the jews missed that they were chosen to go share the truth of god with the other nations that's why they were chosen they weren't chosen just to have their own nation and be number one in the world they were chosen to spread the good news of god's love to all the other nations and they failed they started just looking inward it was all about them all the time so let me put it this way they were saved so they could spread they were saved by god so they could spread this message and galatians 3 tells us that they failed miserably but jesus fulfilled everything israel failed at and so that's that's really important to understand when we see those words chosen and stuff because sometimes it means like we're in other people are out or we're better because we know god when really we're meant to tell people the goodness of god so we pick up this story in jonah 1 and it says now the word of the lord came to jonah son of a matai saying go at once to nineveh that great city and cry out against it for their wickedness has come up before me but jonah set out to flee to tarshish from the presence of the lord he went down to joppa and found a ship going to tarshish so he paid his fare and went on board to go with them to tarshish away from the presence of the lord as one pastor says jonah is the only only pastor to ever run from revival the only pastor to ever run from revival now we have this weird phenomenon at the clout house where if my wife goes to costco or my wife goes to walmart or wherever she's picking up groceries you know i have this thing where my whole goal is to pick every single bag up with once like i don't want to come in and out so i will load them all up in my arms i'll wrap them around my neck and i'll walk in because i only want to do that once but we have this really weird phenomenon that every time my wife comes home with a car full of groceries my son has to use the bathroom all of a sudden and it never fails we're out there sweating bringing in bags we're like where's easton oh it's like his bowels knew that it's time to go the bathroom because mom has a truckload of groceries and so basically this whole story was god saying to jonah i got a special mission for you i need your help i'm going to use you to share god's love and jonah's like nah man i got to go to the bathroom the interesting part of this story that's super important is it says that jonah ran from the presence of god and why that's important is because the presence of god was in nineveh it wasn't nineveh so that's first and foremost because again we like to say you know you're in i'm in you're out god's presence is in this church which i believe it is this is why i love church because it's a bunch of holy spirits coming together in one room but we often think his presence not out there because we'll read a news article we'll see what's going on in the world and we miss that over and over jesus talked about the kingdom as a seed being planted in the world and so we have a heart of jonah sometimes and it says jonah was willing to run from the presence of god not to hang out with the ninevites so let's just be totally blunt why did jonah run from nineveh he didn't like them he didn't agree with them he struggled with their viewpoints of the world he hated the ninevites basically jonah as a good jew knew god's rules he didn't know god's heart and that's incredibly important in this whole message i love what one man says it's a pastor i've been following his name's iamar hardwick and he says has anyone ever noticed that when jesus told the story he always used people we don't like to teach us a lesson about what god is like nineveh and i want to show him some grace i want to show jonah some grace okay nineveh was the capital of assyria the assyrians they were a ruthless violent people they were idolatrous people they were a proud people they were enemies of israel there are stories through hieroglyphics that when god turned israel over to them because they wouldn't obey the voice of the lord the assyrians skinned the jews alive they skinned them alive so i want to show some grace to jonah because this was a very violent awful city but the interesting thing about this is when he's at this point and god says go to nineveh nineveh was 500 miles away tarshish was 2500 miles away so jonah was willing to go 2 000 extra miles not to hang out with these people he was willing to go 2 000 extra miles to get away from the presence of the lord to get away from people he didn't like to get away from sinners he didn't agree with this shows kind of an incredible deep mindset of prejudice and hatred towards these people i told you in my series on friends one thing we learn is that the father is friends with sinners he's friends with all people he's friends with all nations and his presence just isn't in the church his presence just isn't in america his presence just isn't in places that we deem righteous his presence is throughout the entire world the book of joel gave us that and peter said it in his sermon in these last days he will pour out his spirit on all flesh and so right there that's something we need to really grapple with and and i tried to show that in that friend series that that so often we just look at people's outward behavior and we miss that jesus is there meaning any line that you and i draw that says i can't cross this line jesus says i'm already on the other side of that line and so this is huge that we understand this story that that so often we are more like jonah and so for the sake of time because we're going to cover this entire book today a storm comes he's on a ship he's on his way to tarshish and he's with a bunch of other people which is funny i found this interesting that he was willing to get on a boat of pagans because they were going to help him so he wouldn't go to nineveh but he'd get on a boat with a bunch of people that he didn't agree with because they were somehow serving his agenda well this storm comes and they you know they had started throwing stuff off the ship and they started like trying to pray to their gods and i say little g gods because they all have these different gods and so they decide to cast lots back then that was kind of like the dice they were gambling and they believed wherever the lot fell that's what god was telling them and so of course they cast lots and it falls on jonah and basically they're saying it's your fault our gods told us it's your fault they were right it was his fault so even god was speaking through them to get to jonah so that should have been a huge clue to jonah and he says okay fine just throw me off the ship i'm the one that's fault just let me die and they throw him off the ship and he's swallowed by a big fish that's the real hebrew is god called a big fish and he's there for three days and three nights in the heart of this fish and finally he cries out to the lord now listen to this prayer by jonah inside the fish he says i called to the lord out of my distress and he answered me out of the belly of sheol i cried and you heard my voice i went down to the land whose bars closed upon me forever yet you brought up my life from the pit o lord my god but i with the voice of thanksgiving will sacrifice to you what i have vowed i will pay salvation belongs to the lord then the lord spoke to the fish and it spewed jonah out upon the dry land again god's grace he came out the right end amen amen this is interesting to me because my friend paul he always says that in the old testament you can see when the holy spirit peaks his head out now and then like these guys did not see the full picture they saw things through a veil jesus is the final word of god and so you have to understand the heart of jesus in the old testament but every now and then you see the holy spirit peak its head out so notice here's the spiritual thing i want you to see jonah said i am in sheol i'm dead i'm in the grave and i said that in my health series that i did that the old testament has been mistranslated into hell when it was never held the jews did not believe in this place they believed in the place called the dead of sheol and so he was as good as dad he was saying i'm dead i'm helpless and then he says i'm down in the pit again that's a picture of the grave and the most interesting thing here i want you to see with jonah is when he says and i will sacrifice to you so he had this old testament mindset that if he did something then god would save him if he did a sacrifice then the lord would do something for him but then the most poignant verse where the holy spirit peaks his head out of this passage is when it says salvation belongs to the lord this is who god is god saves that's what he does god saves it's in his nature it's who he is he's a redeemer and so that's an important verse in the old testament because jonah's in this this this mindset of i need to sacrifice for god i need to do something for god what was he going to do in the belly of the whale what was he going to do when he was already dead nothing nothing it was god's grace that was going to save him so here's the point before jonah could go share the grace of god with this other nation he had to know the grace of god himself he had to focus on the grace of god so here's the bigger lesson jonah was dead and when his religion ran out that's when he cried out this is a huge lesson so here's why i do this i believe the old testament new testament always connect and so i'm showing you this connection this whole story is about jesus so jonah goes to nineveh and he says 40 days 40 days 40 days and they repented this brutal violent pagan town repented and it says the king decreed that they all put sackcloth on and repent and they couldn't eat they had to fast even the animals couldn't eat anything and so jonah is so excited he's so pumped up he throws a big banquet and he eats with the entire town that's not what he does listen to what he says but this was displeasing to jonah and he became angry he prayed to the lord and said oh lord here is the key verse is not this what i said while i was still in my own country that is why i fled to tarshish at the beginning for i knew that you are a gracious and merciful slow to anger and abounding and steadfast love and ready to relent from punishing jonah was upset that god didn't destroy them jonah was mad he was angry and that verse is so poignant because he says i knew you were that good of a god i knew you wouldn't light them on fire i knew you weren't going to bring hail storms down so the whole point of this jonah didn't want to go there because he knew god was a god of grace again jonah knew all the religion jonah knew all the right sacrifices jonah did not understand the heart of grace and as i read this week i was incredibly convicted because how many times have i been jonah how many times have i read a news article and how many times have i seen abuse how many times have i seen evil and say god when are you going to destroy them when are you going to do something about this when are you going to bring the hammer down god know what's crazy about that michael packard story years earlier he survived a plane crash in costa rica where five people died and now he's eaten by a whale and he survives that too grace upon grace you think god's trying to get michael packard's attention grace upon grace upon grace i mean imagine that in your life you survive a plane wreck and then you get eaten by a whale grace upon grace upon grace upon grace and again i want to personalize this story because how many times have i forgot how i have used people for pleasure how many violent fights i was in in college yet i get grace i get grace how many times do we see a terrorist attack and we say get them god get them and we forget the own bombs our country have dropped on other countries we forget that you can see pictures from vietnam little kids running with their skin coming off them and we think but we're the good guys we're god's chosen my friends i am not putting the usa down i'm not putting anyone down this is humanity but how easy is it for us to forget grace how much we've been forgiven for how easy is it for us to be jonah jonah goes out of the city this is a crazy right they repent and it says jonah goes outside the city and says let's see what happens basically jonah was still hoping that god was going to judge this city he was still hoping that god was going to bring the hammer down so god grows a bush and it says this bush grows up because it's hot where jonah's at and it shades jonah and jonah likes it yes some shade and then god sends a worm and a worm comes and eats that bush and jonah's upset again and it says that jonah goes i just want to die you're saving all these people you're showing all this grace and i'm hot just kill me god just kill me and listen to god's response but god said to jonah is it right for you to be angry about the bush and he said yes angry enough to die then the lord said you are concerned about the bush for which you did not labor in which you did not grow it came into being in a night and perished in a night and should i not be concerned about nineveh the great city in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand persons who do not know their right hand from their left and also many animals to you animal lovers he cares about the animals too friends again this is a very very convicting passage what concerns us it's usually safety comfort and security those things concern us giglio gave a great sermon and he said do you know that 90 of the things you worry about never actually happen 90 of the things that go through our brain never actually happen what concerns god people confused lost hurting people that's what concerns god it's interesting that you know we've been playing our zootown music i haven't been playing well i kind of been playing i've been playing the harmonica at these events but our band has been going out to breweries and playing at different breweries and it's been awesome it's been wonderful so i invite you they showed some little slides they're playing at highlander brewery they're playing at at the cider place here in town and it was interesting because tai showed me a comment on facebook when we announced that we're playing at highlander some christians said it's interesting that you are mixing christianity with the world and i think jesus gave us a point where he ate and drank with sinners for a reason what is in our minds what has happened in american christianity that we're constantly always trying to separate what has happened it's a jonah spirit so i invite you even we're not here to get you to drink if you don't drink they have root beer and great pizza at highlander but is it that we don't want to be around people is it that we don't want to be around people because that's the spirit of jonah and so when i read this week it hit me this story is more about jonah than it is about nineveh and this story is more about us than it is about nineveh so in order to know the heart of god you have to submit christ to this story and i'm gonna keep pushing this because jesus is the final word of god so we don't take this story to jesus we take jesus to this story and that's important so do you understand that you the scriptures the bible is submitted to the lordship of jesus it's submitted to it now here i'm going to show you where jesus talks about this but let me just kind of walk you through this look in jonah 3 it says when god saw what they did how they turned from their evil ways god changed his mind about the calamity that he had said he would bring upon them and he did not do it so right there it says god changed his mind however in first samuel 15 it says moreover the glory of israel will not recant or change his mind for he is not immortal that he should change his mind i don't ever call these contradictions i call these corrections there are different views of god in the old testament from different perspectives so which one is it does god change his mind or does he not change his mind well hebrews tells us that jesus christ is the same yesterday and today and forever so we get the mind of christ to this passage in the old testament and jesus was in nineveh jesus was in nineveh and jonah had this veil of religion over his eyes but jesus was in nineveh and jonah was a type of christ and so fast forward and jesus is in this scene and he's done miracle after miracle and the jews come to him and say we want to see another miracle they've seen him already they've seen miracle after miracle after miracle he just healed the man's hand and he was called the demon jesus healed the man's hand and they called him a demon so why did they want to see why did the jews want to see another miracle because they were waiting for him to fail in one so then they didn't have to believe in him it was a jonah spirit that i want to see something but here's what jesus said but he answered them an evil and adulterous generation generation asked for a sign but no sign will be given to it except the sign of jonah the prophet for just as jonah says look jesus is breaking down all of jonah for you right now for just as jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster so for three days and three nights the son of man will be in the heart of the earth the people of nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it because they repented at the proclamation of jonah and see something greater than jonah is here the queen of the south will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it because she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wisdom of solomon and see something greater than solomon is here dan our worship leader had a great point when i was a kid and i read this story i always thought the the whale was a punishment the whale is what saved him the whale was the salvation of jonah not the punishment of jonah he would have drowned if that whale didn't come and so this is all a picture of the grave of jesus christ the tomb of jesus christ where they thought that this was going to be the end of jesus's reign and he's such a genius instead he flips the evil of man and turns it into the salvation of man jesus's tomb is what saved us jesus going into death is what saved us and it says notice jesus right there he says i'm going into the heart of the earth meaning i am going to defeat death i am going into hades to defeat hades this is what my mission is all about i am just like jonah but i am better than jonah because jonah picked one city i'm picking the entire world and he goes into hades this is huge that we understand this this is why first peter 4 says this for this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead that though judged in the flesh the way people are they might live in the spirit the way god does he says that jesus went and preached to those who have died in the past first corinthians 15 says when this perishable body puts on imperishable and this mortal body puts on immortality then the saying that is written will be fulfilled death has been swallowed up in victory where o death is your sting where o death is your sting or where of death is your victory the sting of death is sin and the power of sin is the law but thanks be to god who gives us the victory through our lord jesus christ this whole story is about jesus entering the tomb and defeating death in hades now the word jonah the name of jonah means dove it means dove and you want to have your mind blown this blew my mind this week i geek out on theology though but this might not blow your mind but i hope it does the hebrews actually wrote in a kind of hebrew hieroglyphics and they read from right to left so they read backwards from us or we read backwards from then however you look at it this is what jonah's name was in hebrew hieroglyphics there's a i had to i'd had to draw this out so going from right to left it says that that is the hand of the heart meaning this is something to listen to the next one is a peg which means this stands this prophecy stands it is unmovable the seed that's sperm the seed of man will save mankind and all of the world will be in awe and rejoice of this messiah that is what jonah's name was and he was a type of christ pointing to the messiah where it says the seed of man will bring all people to rejoice in awe of him in psalm 22 jesus said this on the cross on the cross jesus said my god my god why have you forsaken me and it was a rabbi trick to where he would announce to the synagogue what he was reading and the synagogue was to read the rest of the passage and in matthew in psalm 22 27 it says all the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the lord and all the families of the nations will worship before him jonah didn't even know his name was pointing to jesus defeating death in hades my dear friends when jesus says a greater one than jonah is here that's jesus jonah had one city jesus had the entire cosmos jesus even said or and jonah says what about the animals i told you this before i actually do believe you will see your lost pets someday again because jesus promised i will redeem all things but cats are going straight to hell i'm telling you that right now he cares even about the animals we follow the savior who leaves no coin lost no sheep left behind no prodigal son left we follow the savior who even back with abraham when abraham had sex with his servant girl and had ishmael and his wife sarah told him to kick her out of the family and she had to wander the desert it says god came to her and made a covenant with hagar which would be the muslim nation and he even made a covenant with the muslims because he is the one greater than jonah and i think we miss certain terms sometimes that when he says there are a hundred and twenty thousand people in this city doesn't that mean he knew every single person in nineveh that he knew every person was dear to him in nineveh this is why colossians 1 21 says even though you were once distant from him living in the shadows of your evil thoughts and actions he reconnected you back to himself he released his supernatural peace to you through the sacrifice of his own body as the sin payment on your behalf so that you would dwell in his presence and now listen to this there is nothing between you and father god for he sees you as holy flawless and restored how many of you feel that way i don't but that's how father looks at you he says and there is nothing between you and father god he sees you as holy flawless and restored if indeed you continue to advance in the faith assured of a firm foundation to grow upon now listen to this never be shaken from the hope of the gospel you have believed in and this is the glorious news i preach all over the world what was the message that paul preached all over the world god himself has brought you back jesus himself has defeated death in hades now believe the good news that tomb of death is actually the resurrection of your life death is not the end for you it's the beginning for you because christ has spent three days in this i love how the old testament and the new testament connect i love how all these stories in the old testament point to a greater story in jesus christ and so this is why he's told nineveh to repent and this is why i tell you to repent the word repent means to turn around but it also means to co-align your thoughts with god it means to co-align how god sees you how god sees others and how god sees the world so when he goes into nineveh what he was really saying is god loves you and he hates that you've gone down this way turn and co-align your thoughts with god and i say that because for two weeks i've just had something on my soul and it's been a long time but i can't shake it i just i can't shake it anymore and this week as i was reading this passage this the spirit like hit me hard i had to get up from my office and i came back and i sat in the back of this church and i took communion and i just wept i just wept i love america i love america because god has put me here to share the good news this is what i have hanging in my garage that's my dad's funeral flag that was draped over his casket and when i walk into look at those sweet elk by the way too but when i walk when i walk you know you were looking at that first you know you looked at that first that was taken off dr bravey's ranch he has been so gracious to me i love him but i do this it reminds me to pray for our nation it reminds me to pray i have a heart for the entire world but god has put us here but hear me out we are not the new israel we are the new nineveh we are not god's chosen people the world is god's chosen people and this isn't america hating but we're the new babylon in first peter or ii peter peter says this he was warning them about people who give good speeches and lure them away from christ and it says they spout off with their grandiose impressive nonsense consumed with the lusts of the flesh they lure back into sin those who recently escaped from their error this is a big one they promise others freedom yet they themselves are slaves to corruption for people are slaves to whatever overcomes them and i didn't write any of this down i just asked that the spirit say this but one of those verses the heart of god the compassion of god is when he says jonah these people don't know their right hand from their left and he's talking about confusion he's talking about nineveh was confused they were following their own way they were following their own leaders and they were confused and they were living in darkness i've been listening to multiple podcasts now and i don't i don't judge the world i really don't i honestly don't i can look past certain things because jesus calls people blind but there's a lot of christians now who are just going along with everything that's said out there and it doesn't mean we don't have a heart of compassion and i know everyone's tired everyone has ptsd from this last year we all do and i have compassion for that and i believe in a long-suffering god but i'm having a hard time even having discussions with people because everyone's so angry and it seems that and i'm just gonna say this like i'm not an anti-vaxxer i'm not anti-science or whatever but it seems that like science has become people's god and they're we live in a world of shame it's just shaming you they're shaming you they're shaming you to just go along with things and i'm listening to some podcasts now of preachers and christians who kind of just went with the flow for the last five years and they're like it screwed me up bad and they're being censored there you can't even hear they take it down from youtube i say this because i love you and you know me i'm a great sky and i believe christ defeated it all but you have to respond to his love and the word repent means to co-align your thoughts with god and we have this book called the bible that is mysterious it's hard and we start with jesus but it tells us things that hurt people too why didn't he send jonah to nineveh and say just tell them they're all good and so again you know my heart but we have to get the mind of christ because there is a there is an agenda that is being pushed upon us right now and christians are giving into this because we don't want to be shamed and we want to go with the flow i read an article there's been multiple articles that 90 percent of journalists are admitting they're manically depressed they're depressed because right now is journalism it's just pointing out everybody else's garbage and these are the people who are forming and shaping our minds and it's going to end terribly and i believe christ saves people but we also have to respond to his love and i've studied the early church fathers most of them were universalists most of them were i said that in my whole series but they also were counter-cultural they also went against culture and they cost in their lives they got their heads chopped off because they wouldn't give in to what the empire was saying and so i'm we have to get the mind of christ we have to and there's a lot of christian voices out there who are saying a lot of things and now a lot of them are coming out and saying that they're they're depressed and i'm not against therapy i'm not against i've been to a counselor before to help me work through some things but at the end of the day jesus said i am the great counselor and we have to line our minds up with christ and it will cost us we'll be counter-cultural but we have to or else we will be led down many wrong paths richard rohr says this he says there are two ways of being a prophet one is to tell the enslaved that they can be free it is the difficult way of moses the second is to tell those who think they are free that they are in fact enslaved this is the even more difficult path of jesus i hear the heart of people i really do the church has done a ton of damage it really has and our approach on things and i've i've you gotta if you come you know i've rebuked the evangelical church more than any other group because those are my people those are my people you're my people an evangelical church mixed nation with the church and it was wrong it's wrong we've given into violence we've given into power we've given into fear and we're always blaming others for what's going on so i hear that heart but dear friends just hear me when peter was preaching to the jews at pentecost he said save yourself from this crooked generation and it's not because of hell it's not because of hades it's because there is other voices that are trying to lead you away from the voice of jesus so we have to respond to his love we have to respond to his ways and so what i'm telling you today is how about we all repent i repented all week and repentance is saying i don't care what the mainstream media says i don't care what some christian with really really great words and really really great philosophies are saying i care what christ says i care what jesus says and that's all of us that's all of us in here so ben come on up let me encourage you now i learned something really awesome this week you know that verse where it says jesus is the king of kings and the lord of lords it's actually a big k in a little k and a big l in a little l jesus is the king of kings the king of kings and the lord of lords he has not forgotten his promise from genesis 2. that's who you are to god that's who we are but it takes us lining our thoughts up with christ and so here's the deal because i don't want to just make this about jhana or about nineveh this is about us everyone loses their way sometimes everyone believes things that are wrong and his grace is there and so during communion during this time let's repent together and what true repentance is it's a beautiful thing you are submitting your worldview to christ you are submitting your life to christ you are submitting things you believe to christ and then you let him guide you in that let's all repent together because we all have things that aren't of christ and christ has called us to repent and the beautiful thing is when you repent and you turn around you see the father was there the entire time jesus was in nineveh he was in nineveh and when they repented they can trace bloodlines all the way back to nineveh where that changed generations of families towards the heart of god it's an incredible story so let me share the good news death has been defeated hades has been defeated everything has been done by god now repent and believe what christ believes about you and what he believes about the world and this is why paul so often says renew your mind renew your mind renew your mind there's a lot of people out there saying a lot of things that sound really good it's utter nonsense and they're promising freedom and they themselves are not free and we have compassion for them and we want grace for them but save yourself from this crooked generation and the other side of that is we live in a violent nation in an angry nation so let's not be that either let's be compassionate and loving and filled with grace this dude at church gave me an amazing thing it's anointing oil and it's like it's got a little ball on the end of it so i don't even have to touch you i just have to go like that if you're serious about submitting to the lordship of jesus and changing the way we think and act and saving yourself from this crooked generation [Music] come on up and i'm just gonna bless you in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit this isn't so we can show this on a video or nothing this is between you and jesus and submit your mind to the mind of christ and watch how grace floods your life because of it in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit amen
