DAY IN THE LIFE #VanLife (Part 1)

just a girl in her van and a videocam hey Marley Marley and it morning so for today's video I wanted to show you all what it's like to live a day in a minute I hope you guys enjoy good morning guys I just woke up we are in Lake of the Ozarks State Park and when they see me I am actually not by myself today and with my family it's actually gonna be my dad's 50th birthday so I drove Marley out here sorry my voice is so raspy I just woke up anyway the van is looking a little bit messy I will show you guys what Martin looks like right now all right so I just sat back on the bed and we're not looking too messy that was the tripod you guys were on earlier but I definitely have some stuff with him and I was actually working on a little bit of accounting last night and this kind of has a lot of my clothes in it but anyway it's time to get up and get my base started so the first thing I usually do in my van when I wake up in the mornings is just tidy up because honestly just all the little things adding up really make the van look messy and it kind of starts with me out and I like to just take my time getting ready for the day making sure that I have everything I need for whatever I decide to do whether that's hiking or climbing or slacklining or just hanging out at the campsite being prepared for my day just makes me feel a lot better there are a lot of how-to or activities that really just aren't fun if you don't have the right equipment or gear or the right outfit to handle it then obviously I just step outside my van and get ready to enjoy whatever it is I have planned the day for today we were at a more traditional campground it was a lot more touristy than the kind of places that I normally go but I have my parents along and they love to do this kind of camping good morning whoa what are you making bacon bacon day that looks good Janna do you want to give them a tour of your tent this is my sister guys by the way if you haven't seen her everybody just ignore the sleeping person it's pretty spacious a homeless person that crawls into my tent last night and I just decided to let them stay so now they're at least not tent less yeah not homeless cuz I'm such a nice person and then we stole my parents sleeping pad from the camper so we're not quite good Wow you get your beauty sleep clearly you got your beauty sleep all right bye let me know if you guys want a tour of my parents tiny home slash RV house thing if you guys want a tour of that I'll give you one was that like an old armadillo or something looks like a big fish or something you know what it is you're gonna have to ask Hannah about that one of our absolute favorite pastimes when we're camping is to go slack Lennie so we decided to go ahead and pull that out he managed to get a campsite that's across the street from the host so we have to be in covered Oh [Music] some parks have really strict rules about putting up slack lines because it can be bad for the trees but we actually have tree protectors that we use to try and protect the trees as much as we can if you are slacklining and you don't tree protectors just use a towel and honestly works just fine [Music] I love the table my answers for season I know where's my Christmas baskets home you stay here let me show them the Christmas napkin I think that's an elf or Santa and we have a nice little auks but mom I'm proud of you because yes you're right the tablecloth does match his favor rests this favor Bethany are you hurting your your flocks by night oh okay multitasking here [Music] dang Hanna alright daddy J oh oh gosh I never thought I'd see my dad bull dance why Wow ladies come get them oh god that's so a lot of people always ask how do Dan lifers stay clean how do you take a shower if you're living in your viens well the simple answer is you kind of just come up with ways to do things so for me I always freshen up in public restrooms a lot of campgrounds have showers but also I know a lot of me and lifers who just get gym memberships at certain places and go to the gym each day and then shower after they work out guys I feel like such an old lady I found this shirt at a grad sale and it has like a cat and pumpkins and then little happy pumpkins on this side I like it probably a lot more than I should so in this particular days since we were celebrating my dad's birthday we wanted him to pick out a cool hike to go on with us something that all of us could do we could all have fun on and just you know spend some time as a family together because honestly it just doesn't happen as much as it should truck rides and the Packers some of my favorite times that I have with my sisters we just love looking around to all the beautiful scenery here chatting it up and laughing and just having a good time together [Music] then it was time for our hike which actually turned out to be really fun do you know what's inside find it well when I was little my dad took us to northern Missouri and we picked up big baskets of easy everyone would be able to get you know the rock did this mission you know I hear people tell me all the time I want to go outside I just don't know what to do I'm always so bored and my first thought is always you just have to be creative like there's always something to do it's just not always completely obvious so a lot of its just being creative about having fun ones like light and the other ones like I think you're in a fight back to the topic of finding things to do or being entertained when you're out in state parks or nature it's a really good idea to surround yourself with people that you have similar interests to so I know my sisters and I love to rock climb and we also like to compete against each other at random things such as this really official bar competition Hannah that's not it we were trying to see who could jump to the next bar without using their feet and Bethany ended up winning ooh nice but it's not all things like that that make trips really really memorable you just got to make sure not to take it too seriously when you fail [Applause] [Music] thank you Feliciano starting my day and I just said it one more
