DAY IN MY LIFE: Owning a Clothing Brand, Taking Website Photos, Organization Tips + Packing Orders!

[Music] we both know this is wrong hi guys good morning welcome back to my channel i'm sophia um so today i'm going to be doing a very requested video a lot of you guys wanted me to film a day in my life like online business edition like having a clothing brand um if you guys don't know i have my own little online boutique it's called ignited apparel a lot of you guys requested me to film like a day in my life so i am doing that for you guys today this morning i woke up early i went to the gym and already got my iced coffee so today i actually have a lot of things to do for like my website also if you guys um want more information about actually starting a clothing brand i have videos um already made and i'll link them in the description box if you guys want to go see them and that's when i talk about like actually starting it up like finding a manufacturer like all that like beginner type stuff but this video is just going to be kind of like a follow along day in the life type of description box but yeah so make sure you guys hit that subscribe button if you guys like this video today i have lots of things to do i am going to be taking website photos for like the new items that i got if you guys watched the previous vlog you guys saw that i just recently got new inventory for like the transition into fall so i haven't taken website photos for those items yet but i'm gonna do that today so i am just picking out like some things to bring downstairs so i'm the model for like all of my products so i'm just picking out the things i need to wear for like the shoots which is mostly bottoms because i have a lot of tops so i have some black shorts jeans and this white skirt so i'm gonna bring these down for the shoot we are downstairs in my little studio area this is where i take my pictures for instagram for my clothing brand and all that stuff and these are my little studio lights i just use them also as lights for me and my sister's office i'm just gonna put the clothes here but i am gonna be taking like pictures of them because obviously we need to update the website and i'm also working on switching up my website and like changing the outline of it all right but before we start doing that i'm gonna light my candle and then also we're gonna play some music um also i have to do some orders today but i'm gonna do that in a little bit today like my number one priority right now is to get these website photos up because i want to make sure everything is set for launch day for when everything's up on the website and you guys can actually buy it okay so i need to set up my lights which face this way but right now i'm just using them for actual like light in the office but usually we move it this way and face it towards here it's all a bunch of fun stuff okay so i have two studio lights that i use and i'll link them in the description box if you guys are interested in getting some i just got them on amazon and they're like really nice because they are super bright so this is what it's looking like i'll show you guys so anytime i'm taking any pictures i have my two studio lights set up but yeah so now we're gonna just start shooting because i want to make sure i get these pictures up on the website soon so let's go [Music] we both know this is wrong so why do we carry this [Music] we moment won't stay friends we both try to keep our distance hey guys so i just got done taking um like body photos with the items this is also one of the items that's coming out um i took a lot of pictures and now the next thing i'm gonna do is i'm gonna like put them on a hanger and like take a picture of just like the clothing pieces themselves so that when you're like buying something on the website you can see what the item looks like on and like on a hanger so i'm done all of the actual modeling pictures and now i'm going to take just the actual clothing pictures so we're going to do that all right guys so i just got done doing a bunch of photos um it took about maybe two hours what time did i even start taking pictures on yeah it took about two hours for all the pictures and um it's not a good angle okay and sorry that i look like this so that's just the taking pictures portion of it i still have to like look through them and edit them and then get them up on the website but i'm just glad that i actually got the pictures over with i don't think i'm going to um look through them and edit them today i think i'm just going to save that for another time because i don't want to like do everything all at once that's kind of how i manage like my stress levels i guess especially because i'm still waiting for some labels to come in so that gives me time to spread my workout um okay so after that now i'm just going to go on to my ignited apparel like store and see what orders i need to do today um i use shopify which i have been using since the beginning and i don't have any problem with it okay so i guess i will walk you guys through how i process an order so we'll do an order together i think that would be fun okay so this is like what i don't want to show you guys like the information but um this isn't one of the orders it like breaks it down for me someone ordered a not your baby top and size large and basically what i do is i create the shipping label i love shopify because it does everything for you it's super easy and then i go into like my inventory for ignite apparel and i pick out the item that they purchased so this is the not your baby top and i create the shipping label and then you fulfill the order if you have shopify it's so easy and it didn't take any time for me to get used to the layout of the website so if you are looking for um a good website host to have your online brand at um i use shopify and i think it's pretty good so all right and this is my little um packaging station it's really cute so over here i have my um wrapping paper which is just matte black for packaging and stuff i wanted to keep ignited apparel's packaging to be really minimalistic and sleek so i use matte black packaging matte black wrapping paper and matte black packages so and these are my stickers which are made by anna i'll leave a little business handle on the screen and she makes my stickers for me so these are the stickers that i use to seal like the packaging and then here are my little tags that i use so this is a little ignited apparel one i just custom made them again i'm the one who made the labels and chose like the colors and everything the stickers i just made this on canva and then like printed it out in different ways like as you can see stickers and logos and stuff like that and then same thing with this i just designed just something super simple because again i wanted ignite apparel to be very minimalistic and like sleek so i got these little labels printed out so i just loop it through the little tag and this is what it looks like i just loop it through there and this is the not your baby top it's super cute and now it's sold out this is the last one i had in stock and then this is what the packaging looks like and then i'll just put it into here and i make sure to always include the packing slip because that basically outlines what they ordered like the address and everything that's so that when the customer opens their package it kind of outlines everything that they purchase all right so i have some other orders to do so i'm gonna go ahead and do that but i'm gonna do it off camera because i already went through how i package them that's basically a rundown of how i package my orders and then later we're gonna just drop it off at the post office i just use usps and i just drop it off in the little blue box thing um because most of the time my packages can just fit through there so yeah that's basically how i do an order on my little board i have over here i have all of your like suggestions on what you guys want for like the fall and winter collection um these items are technically still kind of like a transition into fall i'm really excited because i love getting your guys's opinions and obviously like your opinions matter because you guys are the ones that are purchasing the items so these are just some of the suggestions that you guys wanted for the fall and winter and of course i'd love to take your opinions into consideration so a lot of you guys really wanted to have some like sweaters um oversized stuff a lot of you guys wanted comfy sweaters and cardigans so and holiday date dresses which i'm really excited to look into also um but yeah that's just also something if you have if you want to start your own brand anything with clothing um to just like engage with your audience and get to know what types of items they're looking for because at the end of the day they're the ones that are gonna be purchasing stuff so always keep that in mind okay so as you guys also know i do a lot of other social media stuff like my ignited apparel stuff isn't the only thing that i do i do youtube clearly as you guys are watching my youtube video right now i uploaded a vlog this morning so now i'm gonna go ahead and respond to your comments every time you guys leave me a comment on my videos i respond so so here are just a bunch of comments i haven't responded to so i'm going to go ahead and just do that [Music] [Music] so i just got a package and this is my labels for ignited apparel so when i got a new manufacturer um we actually didn't do private labeling which is fine i would just have to um label my clothes myself so we're going to open this up and see what it looks like so depending on your manufacturer they may be able to do like custom labeling or like private labeling but i've talked to a few manufacturers when i was trying to find um a new one and the majority of them weren't able to do like custom labeling so which is fine typically we would have to just go through a private labeling company which is what i did so these are the labels so that's just also something that you have to keep in mind when you are looking for a manufacturer to see if they do private labeling so in here i have like a bunch of paperwork and stuff like that this is just my planner i also just bought like sheet protectors and stuff if you guys watched my previous vlog um which is great because i like to keep all of my invoices and receipts for when i purchase other things for my brand so that i know where my money is going to and in this binder i just keep also my certifications like my business permits and stuff like that so that i always have them when you do have a business you need to make sure that you are certified and uh have a license in your state or area where you are going to be starting your business so for instance i'm in new jersey so i had to go and get my like permit to buy and sell in new jersey so all my important like paperwork and stuff like that i just keep in a binder um so that's just a little tip too if you have your own business is to just keep track of your spending for your business and what you are putting your money into so i'm really excited about these new items that are coming out because i'm hoping to have them up on the website for you guys to purchase by probably next week um but i'm really excited because since my new manufacturer before i had my items imported but now these are made in the usa so the quality is just a lot um better i have some body suits here as you guys saw we have this really pretty pink one i don't want to like show too much of it because you guys are going to be able to purchase them once they're live on my website which is also another thing that i have to work on today um is redesigning my website because i want to like switch it up a little bit so make sure you guys follow me on my instagrams my main instagram and then my business instagram so that you guys can keep updated for when these items launch because they're super cute i'm really excited for you guys to get your hands on them hi guys it is um a bit later now i am ready it is a bit later now i am about to work on the ignited apparel website i am currently trying to get a new theme um i use shopify as i mentioned earlier and the thing with shopify is you guys can get like different themes and you can purchase themes and right now i am like testing out this one theme that i really like but i haven't purchased it yet i'm just kind of like customizing it to what i would want my website to look like before i actually buy the theme to see if it's something that i actually would want so yeah i'm really excited to switch up the website and everything so usually during the morning and stuff that's when i'm busy doing as you guys saw like the shooting for it or actually going out and processing orders but towards like the end of the day i'm doing a lot of like work on my computer which is usually well for now i'm doing a lot of website stuff because i want to change up my website a little bit and incorporate more videos i think that would be cool where you guys can actually like watch a video of like the product on me you know um but yeah so that's what i'm gonna be doing for the rest of the night i'm just gonna be working on the website and also putting in each product onto my website inventory um but yeah so i think that's going to be it for today as a business owner it's a lot of planning and prepping to be honest and it takes a lot of time once you get products in because obviously you need to take pictures of them you need to put them into your actual website yeah but it makes it all worth it because when like launch day comes it's just like amazing hearing your feedback that you guys are like buying my
