[Music] [Applause] [Music] good morning and welcome back here to Sun s in Norway it's the final day of the European Athletics Team Championships first league in the west coast of norway a population of the city estimated around 77,000 people the fastest growing places in the country the other side from Oslo hurdles already out this morning a good crowd inside the stadium as we've got 11 teams fighting for national pride here as well as points yesterday we saw Norway take five victories overall including two for Inga Brits and brothers 1500 meters today Henrik the oldest of the three will go not be another sense of delight for the home crowd because the Inga Britons born bred and still living just minutes from this Stadium we take a look at the timetable for today women's pole vault concluding earlier they switch that late on to the sunless Holland indoors elsewhere in the city bring you results from that on a moment's time we also have 200 metres the men seized equal chase having seen mr. Hungarian you in the women's edition yesterday and we conclude with the 4 by 400 meter relay finals right on cue here are the results of the women's pole vault arena Zook of Belarus 456 was her best so she takes 11 points and you can see on the right-hand side of your screen as I was saying right from that maximum of 11 all the way down to 1 points making the difference there no way indeed and so this is how the standings looked Portugal leading by 20 points Norway in Netherlands the two that we really expected to be the most consistent and challenge for that one promotion spot they are a little way back but it's very congested Belarus and Turkey doing well and those looking to avoid the drop Belgium Slovak Republic Hungary and Lithuania so lots of exciting races jumps and throws look to ahead today and then triple jump will be the first action that gets underway in the field and the Sprint hurdles finals on the track couple of the Irish athletes watching on the vanilla McCormack not English is smaller to come they'll hope to stay in the position they are in indeed possibly move up as well it could all remain incredibly close but that's the dynamic of these European Team Championships whether you finish full or seven that really makes a difference in so straighting for those extra few centimeters and that fraction of a second can be important so live coverage to come throughout the day as we get ready to introduce those who will feature in the men's triple jump competition flags all the way around the stadium showing you the countries taking parts Portugal Norway Netherlands Belarus turkey Ireland Romania Belgium Slovakia Hungary and Lithuania that's the order in which they stand as per that table you saw a few minutes ago it's interesting that Portugal have only won two events overall national tour the 100 meters and it was arena Rodriguez on the first day in the women's discus but they've had five third places and five fourth places [Music] champion twice a world silver medalist and fifth times second European 15:58 his best seven times so they are on the bottom of the table one victory and the women's triple jump to be like guilty twenties recently in Sweden 765 long jump PB 1517 is the furthest that he's jumped [Music] Romania longer better athletes in this competition he was with you being under 23 s recently the Undertaker 15 is best just missed out in the middle at the University games recently motors bearing in mind that it's Portugal Norway Netherlands the top three in the standings with Belarus just a couple of points back so to Turkey obviously this is a rent where the Portuguese man Machado is an outstanding favorites and could help grow that advantage and I don't think it's unfair to say that it's a slight surprise to see Portugal leading particularly when they've only had those two wins overall could be a third before too long of course I compared to five wins for Norway and three for the Netherlands to three for Turkey the Netherlands also having six second places but between those two countries starting with in the host and the Dutch they have a bit of disappointment to mull over this morning having messed up the relays significantly absolutely disappointing really poor changeover you'd have to say for sure Andy Martina how much experience on the final leg they've really messed it up so tada Norwegians with aqua rabo sprinting for them gerard O'Donnell on the island coached by Jeremy lines two other training partners as well osman le dumit rush of romania season literally para Honka 1340 will see on their own Herman his compact rate the European senior champion in the women's final oops spend time the University of Bath in England indoors last year this country is a junior international in Sweden recently in tough competition and wrassle Davao Portuguese athletes leading the topless landings once again and McDuck Chevrolet of Turkey goes on the outside so the first truck fire on the third day a couple of national record holders in that in this schebler for turkey lukovitch of norway european semi-finalists last year in berlin so two para Honka as well do me trash romanian champion every year since 2015 [Applause] oversee going really well also but para Honka just gets there so it's belarus from belgium with hungary battling for third slot Nestor not having twice as faster final gear as some might have hoped to indeed confirmation para Honka 1373 for the Belarusian and they will hope to complete a sprint hurdles double in a matter of moments so white and green in lane four over Suey really fighting tooth and nail determined look on his face [Applause] so let's have a look at confirmation of the full results over Stewie from suits from Vuckovich and Chevrolet that's the top five that have come through all on your screen here particularly close between Chevrolet and doomy trash and still waiting for a time to come up full O'Donnell there we are so we have the preliminary round on Friday and there was some quite easy qualification conditions of course because eleven men trying to get in the top eight so we didn't see particularly fast times in fact Lauren bazolar portugal's was even able to run at a 100 and 200 meters heat within 25 minutes of one another here is her teammate Pedro Pablo Machado my fees there to make sure they aren't popping into the microphone [Applause] one of the best triple jumpers of all time now in the colours of Portugal let's see the 17 meter mark there in the pits capable of so much further of course had to wait before he could represent Portugal internationally this competition 1694 toss michelle for them for 4th athletes the jump here but as you can see that i need a second to have a jump measured absolutely yesterday in the long jump as I mentioned and looking fairly good here it's not the distance that he want at this stage 1691 his best this year he was 8th in Berlin the European Senior Championships of course so many of these athletes took part in not only that competition but in Glasgow indoors earlier this year and we've seen European medalists as far back as at least 2010 he'll be featuring later on in the 3000 meters has meddled at the last four European some newer that's pretty consistent Thomas with Schalke then 16:43 very early stages of this men's triple jump final Slovakia and Lithuania very much fighting to stay in the first league it's for ask us 1576 that was last year which was a Lithuanian champion and he defended his title successfully in 2019 1576 simply on the board looked fairly close pretty solid for shadow watching on track suit back on fairly cool conditions here slightly overcast as it was yesterday but 1489 but if you only watching this competition but also younger 20 degrees and Under 20's where Henniker Lautner's participated Scandinavian summers seeps and quite changeable weather so the cloud really getting in the mood early on on day three [Applause] [Music] we're too far away to his longtime bassist over 15 metres plenty of room to spare 15:23 so indeed he's 23 centimeters off the furthest he's jumped that should be a good target to aim for and he seems up for the fight obviously Norway set to lose points in this the making of grips in I mentioned to come Rob doll what the 3,000 metres yesterday and she goes in the 5,000 meters good middle distance athlete doubling up it's been very difficult to do so in the sprints are those close preliminaries on Friday tee ball galambos his first jump so 16 meters in 20 his PB very solid are you putting here [Applause] [Music] so hungry have opened up with a third place this morning and that's the position which for the moment galambos slots into so you're watching wide coverage here the official stream the European athletics team championships firstly from Sunnis in and away so confirmation of that victory for Belarus in para Honka in the men's sprint hurdles from the young Belgian of a C and that Valdo shoots the man who has spent time in the West of England British universities silver medalist [Applause] so it's like change their seats Belarus now move in front of the Netherlands up to that victory for para Honka sister I believe Svetlana now a junior international for Belarus as well the European under 23 s that we are a Herman winning that competition but to other Bella Russians also looking good so clearly they're set up as far as hurling concerned is only going up and up at the moment Ruslan Christian rikku of Romania was impressed with the number of third places and fourth places that Romania managed to pick up yesterday third four times in particular survivor chi over there being 11 teams have you come third you get nine points so that's 36 points they've also been ten five times from just off to the left-hand side slightly so his best 1683 just 5 centimeters off the national record of mariana prayer the athens 2004 olympic silver medalist and well bronze in 2005 he's just 19 years old Birdman they were introduced 16 metres 27 strong starts and at the moment third place you've got the likes of a cloudy of of a chair to come 1500 meters exactly maneuver in a javelin which is the last field event of the day here's the first so did acre of Belgium his first effort nearly solid can see sort of looking down there just to check his footing so perhaps it was a slightly controlled jump didn't quite maximize his potential 1453 wasn't all free-flowing so to speak well that concludes the first round and Dennis Finnegan and on the gorilla of Ireland and Belarus respectively the two that haven't registered a mark its Pichardo from fish Elka from Greco galambos and flop Ness Portugal Slovakia Romania Hungary and Norway that make out the top five they're also the five men over 15 meters with the top three being over 16 no surprise that machado way out in front and people have going much much further hopefully it will stay dry is it the moments of Turkey Jones here so he joins a cherylin Finnegan in not registering a mark [Applause] of the women's 100 meter hurdles Olympia Barbosa Portugal 1336 this year and Messina of Belgium see competence off that one best Isabella Petterson Olympian two times a world semi-finalists he's very close to making those fighters 1272 at best always bigger stars alvera Holman star of this field there the European champion with its senior an under-23 level now 1264 ranks their number one Nadine Visser European Indoor champion now concentrating on the Sprint hurdles islands for the University Games [Applause] semi-finalists she's from top 13 this year 1289 Isabel Patterson of Norway yet to do so so we'll wait and see what kind of form everyone's in in this final so the other three athletes eliminated in the heat on Friday but they will still score one two and three points Barbosa person in Pettersen hmmm a favor cuts out good start from the Irish women alongside her Herman with some work to do now the Dean bits are straining to get there looks like she does $12.99 so impressive stuff from the Dean Visser takes maximum points of the models just what they need at this stage particularly after that downer with the relay disqualifications yesterday so real concentration from Nadine Visser and laughing unfortunately hitting that her dog has such a good starts so unfortunate for the Irish woman she does finish indeed well I thought I saw her crossing the line there but as far as I'm aware if you do qualify for the final according to the Official Rules you are still eligible for the points equivalent to 8th place of that before points even if you don't finish just to clear that up that Nadine Visser coming in as one of three women you've run some 13 seconds this year and 1298 the official confirmed time let's go back to the triple jump shall we this shadow on Portugal second round of tents kind of feel it skin against the pits really way way back there could still be an improvement though 1694 in the first rounds 1698 indeed it is so once again they're jumping from right to left as we look down the home straight of it to effectively the other way parallel with the back straight very tightly up against the track what a close-knit stadium in that sense birds well for the jumpers indeed to be like guilty of Lithuania when we give you a tighter getting a lifetime best only just 14 28 women who serve me correctly in the triple jump eleven points looking very solid in the triple jump Slovakia need everything they can get to avoid relegation because this competitions being streamlined to eight teams of course all of the leagues in two years time which is a positive decision I think it helps the format in the sense that you don't have the preliminary rounds which would quite dry because of those easy qualifications to get through to the finals and I think also having a two-day event rather than the three might also encourage athletes to take part it means one less day of travel potentially one less day outside of your usual training block [Applause] so confirmation of that victory more comfortable then I expected certainly from Visser dude BW erm in the European champion trot sack of Hungary with third place from her from Edison Slovakia Portugal Belgium and Ireland Sarah Levin did finish in the end but as for the team Manuel I understand that she would have got those four points in any case of a DNF or even a false start a DQ but it's not the case if let's say you don't get a jump in is the case with Vanessa Stefan visa Belgium in the hammer yesterday that's in the triple well I'm glad he sees the funny side I really am but I think that that was a red flag anyway on the board it's funny because it's like in football sometimes occasionally you'll see a football going for a tackle with their head the marking the plasticine suspect it was a close one well he enjoyed that moment that flatness and improving athlete and good long jumper as well so at the moment we haven't seen too much improvement in the second one but only a few jumps so far Dennis Finnegan of Ireland he's registered here's the first effort and that's a 1466 he'd puts him in 8th place and the same can be said of Andre Schurrle and his first registered efforts puts him in fourth [Music] albeit there is a good half metre between him and Greco of Romania the teenager who holds third place so the triple jump going as we expected with Machado out front the great Nelson Evora competed many times in the European Team Championships holds the championship record indeed 1759 from ten years ago and if I'm not mistaken the championship records listed here the quiet of all of the leaves including the super league so go on boss of Hungary 1542 what have you go fairly similar he's in fifth overall at the moment and needs 33 centimeters further to go ahead of Sherita pretty much exactly where he wasn't the board last time around so that's a consistency of anything the officials seem to be ready for the rain I will ask you if I want one of those ponchos earlier and I thought it might be tenting crate concede ow the wind is even stronger lost 2.8 meters seconds [Applause] so while the triple jump continues and is midway through the second round we'll take a look at the lineup for the men's discus so arena Rodriquez winning the women's competition for portugal win I think Dutchman 66 22 years ago he was also the hala Derka Tucker the growing international event he was only Romanian there actually milonov competed in the shop boots when he finished mine yesterday now he needs the 65 meter belgian doha qualifying standard so we'll watch out for that he's followed the narrative of this competition yield room of Turkey alongside the Opena buffets key the Belarusian you can see 6133 this year [Music] Corrado who we saw little earlier the most funky B's don't just go bellow Sanko or nod off with a little down in a chakra time where we expected him to be 21:56 to win 2 years ago a Portuguese natural record but his team still leave the standings that's Colin quirk of Ireland's Rama vicious 32 and all the sternness is Sena fantastic season he's had in the world this year [Music] behind their store 67 78 big cheer from the crowd and he certainly will battle Kivar go who's only thrown 62 meters this year I'm sure another victory for a Norwegian isn't too far away because there was so many yesterday we're now seeing that yes confirmation that laven DQ but does get four points because of qualification to the final which is a good rule I think there may be slightly divisive so we move on to the men's 800 meter final moment shellack of Turkey goes on the outside 17 years old in fact under Pluto of Belgium 148 this year conversations ongoing between avoid shoot Romania deepen of the Netherlands he's saying I'm gonna beat you into that first Bend better be ready off your marks VIN ditch of Hungary European indoor heats the last two editions of that competition most recently in Glasgow this year [Applause] Mekas of Lithuania and Aenon of Norway seven that the European under-23 s this is Andre Pollini Slovakian 152 16 his new lifetime best mark English just finished his medical studies there's a full-time athlete now for the first time before Tokyo moving to qualified [Applause] Portuguese European under 23 elite finish to that race in Sweden and car pal I wondered whether we would see him here we are cut off 148 83 this year so interesting lineup here over two laps Karpov Pereira English Paolini mickus Hainan windage and deepen voice choo van de puta and shallot ready to go on the outside so it's the Turk who leads them just around the bend and wait for the stacker to unwind Shelly mentioned he was only 17 lifetime best 148 53 and that was set in Tampa at the world under-20s where he reached the semi-finals competed in boroughs over both eight and 1500 meters and deepened the tall Dutchman behind him then European indoor bronze medalist over 400 meters the 23 year olds number for young athletes in this valley young so he's a good age do you call someone young maybe up to 25 26 but the foot is 24 but just look at how cagey this is so far 55:39 there's an army of hungry men keen to have a bird up over the last 400 meters and pull through and possibly use the last 200 in particular as a trigger Nuno Pereira of Portugal who is towards the back there try and in that sort of race at the European under 20 [Applause] on the inside the man who's finished his medical studies we have sir two wins at the European team champions first league in the past you've been indoor bronze medalist come deepen also getting on the podium in Glasgow and he's right on the outside here it's the Hungarian low windage look at this battle English on the inside but bindus it's gonna hold on to the line great final gear from the Irishman and then shellack battling for third place now just seemed to pull away well take maximum points for Hungary these are some faster athletes here as well so good start to the morning or hungry with the strong discus thrower we saw a moment ago to come mark English getting second so I make that the fourth time that he's been in the top to the European team champs first league and that could help keep Ireland in this league yes English was first in Vaasa 2017 second in her Ackland 2015 of sorry first in Tallinn 2014 certainly right for saying too many numbers at once this is fair for Rica in the discus Oh looks like we're seeing a couple of spots of rain once more no surprise really because very very changeable conditions so on that 60 meter line for FIFA Rica so officially it's 21 centimeters short of its [Applause] Sonique Avago and perfidy can have thrown so far joins the live results bringing up to date with that inner moments as we go back to the men's triple jump so they are in the second round so foul unfortunately for sure ela so now having moved into the third round in fact the live results just a little bit behind [Applause] well even if that one is having a bit of a rest there are plenty of young enthusiastic fans and volunteers and doing everything from basket carrying to do flag holding they love in the discus for Portugal some way back off 60 metres so thus far as all tank of Argo 57:14 expect further from him but it is the first round and does look like the circle is a little slippery possibly a little greasy and if the rain does hold off then it will dry a little bit with further usage here is the result of the men's 800 meters windage from English and gellick a lot I'm best for aleni this is : quirk the Irishman firfer Rica from milonov from the hood ski and most up-to-date results picked through the circle was going off to the left-hand side they're not a clean flight through the air [Music] so 1584 first throw for the Irishman Michele Kerr triple-jump third round now two jumps would in three centimetres of one another and he is a man with a bit between his teeth at the moment no surprise he's getting the crowd going and I wouldn't be surprised either he jumped a little closer to 17 meters here winner in the long jump yesterday just to 17 meters it could well but target at the moment for a haul of 21 points individually and that I think is mightily impressive and makes him one of the early favorites one of the stars of this competition course as far as the home fans concerned they were beating of Britons but they are doing one event each so they all get their moment in the spotlight because sometimes they're up against each other on the international stage and well seeming at the moment it's often Henrik and Phillip being upstaged by the younger brother Jakob so this is a Brahma Vicious their 6237 a season's best with a Lithuanian such a great tradition of discus throwing of course the great modulus elector twice Olympic champion twice world champion and once European as well saw his son competing as a junior for Lithuania the European on the 20s it's doing this the Senate not too far away from his best an outstanding season as we was saying fifth in the world this year so it's been a particularly good year but Nordic discus throwing unwashed doll one of the best ever to the final of the women's 1500 meters [Music] this both of Belgium lining up first of all Papa chair a winner two years ago in Vasa in Finland's boom else for 10 this year next woman a geocache winner in the steeplechase so strong and powerful towards the end of that race brought down also a winner yesterday in the 3000 meters Monica Olenska of Lithuania alongside her and douche goober this is Amy O'Donoghue great new lifetime best at the British maila's club from free in Eltham in London recently which is a middle distance competition this is a GU super tan of Turkey we also saw salami Afonso and Dalia but it's a of Portugal embellish respectively so three three quarters of the track Jakob Ingebrigtsen a winner yesterday a winner what 75% of his capability because it was easy for him as expected and I don't think that's unfair to say to the others in the field but he is such an amazing teenage talents he was full of excitement and needed no extra motivation than being in front of his home city crowd not just Norwegians so Sunday morning stroll this opening [Applause] incredibly pedestrian bond so they're in the center pull the chair alongside her the tool Romanian Paulo 2.27 this year also was fit at the European under-23 she seemed to have a tactic bear of going right on the outside all the way into lanes three and four and a race that was won by jammer iki of Great Britain Northern Ireland as part of her double those championships the number of women doubling up in this field five in fact including sabaton towards the back black leggings eight of these women have pb's this year also that cash as I said one a steeplechase so wonder how much that will be in her legs [Applause] Roth Dow used to endurance no doubt the she'll be able to cope twice at European medallist including the 10,000 meters three years ago and also great steeplechase that her lifetime best four minutes in five but she hasn't run 1,500 this year police don't knock doors of one Tamar notes anyway lifetime best I mentioned set in Stockholm in 2018 she's been Allison's in Norway a small matter of a 12 hour drive up the engine coast Bava chair leading with two laps ago so he becomes very much an 800 meter race well there are several athletes in this field capable of really pushing on Phillip ingebrigstsen was possibly one of the only athletes at a middle distance or long distance race who really decided to go for it and that was with a couple of laps to go no surprise in his extraordinary confidence in his own talents but they are almost holding hands out there through what looks like a start/finish line that isn't on the back straight into the top end well almost get a chance to look at perhaps the mountains through the trees in the background actually the tall trees and other paraphernalia in the stadium shielding those but it is a wonderful backdrop goodness me almost six abreast this could be some last 400 meters brought Dow in an okay position at this point but the same could be said yesterday Hinchey found a way through she will have to do some battling to get through though Carolyn B of Kelly Grove Dell good luck without Amy O'Donoghue on the outside fantastic P be that I mentioned beat the likes of the Hannah England former world medalist and Amita Bert the talented to finish junior rich all Mills at the Netherlands now really gritting her teeth working her arms hard down the backstraight and no one can capture just at this stage baddest a the Belarusian in second then O'Donoghue of Ireland's lifted to follow up the excellent work of Mark English father chair no surprise that she comes around the outside look at this battle though all those of the Netherlands against Marissa the Belarusian in front look at mama chair coming through now I don't think she'll be fast enough to take the lead or will she trying to get that elusive itch bobert shia animals those are the first three across the line and then upon so finishing fast look at sue burton as well the turk drop down well out of it I know she had the 3,000 meters in her legs but a number of these women have doubled up including Bob a chair of Romania and draft out made it tough I don't think you can blame her for an impressive performance in terms of doubling up look at gear cache like no geocache of Hungary on the inside they're also just perhaps tiring two walls the last so that may may be proving a factor but sue Burton did better than she did in the 1500 meters I'm sorry in the 3,000 meters she was 10 at that point yes there maybe she felt that she really had something to prove and she had plenty left shop contenders teammate of super-tender Ellie still leading the way in the standings and aiming for that promotion spot Mikayla Walsh of Ireland's 16 meters 13 14:24 and 2019 the ovens are encanta 1650 ad Anita Martin World Indoor champion points here for the Hungarians [Applause] [Music] the teachers the way back on PB this year for some fits the Belgium there is quite a significant difference between some of those lifetime bests so hope you're enjoying the coverage here with the finals coming thick and fast Belarus winning the women's 1500 meters that was an interesting race wasn't it because they were six abreast at one stage really fighting for position baba chair did come through for second place ahead of all Milles who really went for it and I hope you join me in admiring her covery her courage even in doing so that means the standings after 26 events see belarus move up one place further up into second now and cutting Portugal's lead to 15 points now I would take that with a pinch of salt because the triple-jump not quite concluded in pedro pablo Pichardo goes in this final and the final is the top four athletes each getting one last fourth round effort so aza Peck he won't improve only registered one jump in fact but it was a good one 16 meters and 30 the plasticine now not sure if we saw it in fact but greco of Romania with his final effort improved further up to 16 82 it wasn't wind legal better it displaced Thomas for Schalke so if he wants one extra point more than 20 individually for Slovakia in the disservice they're so driving hard down the runway the Slovakian winner of the long jump red flag to all the anticipation oblast she says or whatever is the Slovakian for a possible swear word it's funny cuz obviously neither me nor you know all of the swear words in all of the European languages but I did pick up and the European under-21 of the Finnish athletes after a foul did say he finished swear word which is quite known internationally so Greco of Romania to let his jumping say the words for him nineteen years of age has had a great series improving with every jump 16:27 then 56 then 82 once again driving hard it's another red flag and to be honest it's not a huge surprise partly because they all know that they've got good jumps and it is one effort where they can really just go for it and we needed to go over 17 meters or 1699 to overhaul Pichardo and you feel that whatever was thrown at him the Portuguese would be able to respond here he is so privileged to have one of the best ever he actually was quiet and now he wants the crowd to get behind it was funny because I remember the World Indoor champion burning in last year we saw a number of athletes and competition so the pad was responding to instructions depending on the athlete preference very specific rhythm of rhythmic they're for the shaho have some other red flag ah we're having fun here laughter so in size but the shadow he takes an 11 points for Portugal and you know what that could make a huge difference part of the fact has been that in the relays at the end of yesterday the four by ones Portugal second and third overall where is between Norway and Netherlands you had think three disqualifications and one tenth place and that is nothing short of poor no kidding you there [Applause] especially with the likes of Z naught for a voter and II Martine hensley Paolina and Jimmy Lee Samuel they also had the 16 year old in quechua Sato the European and 20 silver medalist who was the fastest in that competition in national under-18 best for her in but also in Sweden fantastic to watch and surprise even herself to Disgaea in the women shoppers for Belarus so once again we are in the first round little bit damp that circle but shouldn't cause too much of an issue [Music] good crowd on that far side of the stadium and these are the men just getting into position some of them rudely with their backs to the audience for the men's steeplechase [Music] should we start on line up on the outside with Shemin our seemed a good place to start so Victoria of acne jerkish winning the women's edition yesterday and series lifetime best then nine minutes and three so that could be a good target to overhaul that barrier for the first time this is justina shamsky's Lithuania a wink was that suggested from my David message Jamie Rossiter the Opera University students in fact an Irishman and a Ferrero in Portugal Dimitri even Ankara Belarus and thumbs up from Portugal see he doesn't give the camera the eyes he's steely and focused as they all are dimitru of romania and shooter noah shooter in fact he has his own I wonder if the athletes in this field will be running two by two I really didn't think I'd get in a biblical reference this weekend unless it might be the rainfall which we saw mainly on Friday and that morning had started up incredibly Sonic t-shirt Justina's perchance kiss leads away early stages of the steeplechase final we will keep you up to date indeed with what's happening in the shotput expected we might switch to this is JD Norwegian so just short of what is that 14 meter mark there and the one on the right-hand side 18 the line across so they're throwing very close to the track alter jump shot cutters Toronto Ferreira now a Portugal lady 839 at best he's just a few hundreds of that PB in 2019 peaks of the European Championships in Berlin last year so coming through now with six laps to go that time around 74 seconds 0.79 look at the Belgian keeping our leader on his toes that's Clement Alondra 848 this year the 21 year old so whatever gap now under whether who the other athletes will try and bridge them cell Earling Peugeot looks as though he wants to seem to remember last year that he was one of a number of chasers story last year should say two years ago in basta the last ditch knew this competition he was one of a number of chasers a little bit frustrated with the pace of the second group and I'm sort of saying then come on come on gesturing if we work together we can get up to the back of the leaders some of those athletes just trying to stand the beats through that water jump [Applause] so completing the first kilometer now three oh one point five seven good helping of Portuguese Flags they may be needed the middle sandy comes the end of this competition is a fleet doing really well and no doubt it will spur the rest of the team on to continue to achieve their best I shouldn't just my facial expression looking though he's battling a little bit but you can read too much into those for what being a good spot when stuff is decorated with their pants without they need watering often [Applause] [Music] so Pereira 839 at best leading them through pretty much in a single file and complete opposite to the women's race 1,500 meters a few moments ago a couple of athletes now beginning to drop off the back of this pack the Slovakian just coming through there and he started to struggle a little bit 926 is his best [Applause] you see the Romanian in the background there to meet true 9/16 in his is his best song yeah if he can get as close as possible to nine minutes for the first time get his team a reasonable helping of points beat a couple of other athletes would be a good job normal as well that means run 845 this year we want to be basing Bioman [Applause] the big big lady great psychology about to come through with three laps ago [Applause] [Music] [Applause] that is scooter still looking solid in his technique now a little bit more spread out I did wonder whether if the page slow there's a chance for him to really close up in this race but I don't think so at this stage Andre Ferreira out front de flan drew in second place just as he was earlier on but at audible close the company now as Jaime Rossiter looking pretty determines behind a 46.8 won this year the Irish champion behind the England champion Tom Horton and down Jarvis as well [Applause] so Portugal Belgium Turkey and Norway [Applause] pretty even across the first and second kilometers it was sent to 59 for the second full and 301 for the first portable just seem to be one of those athletes who wants to be in control the race and I said two years ago he decided to push on and catch up to the leading group in this time in front of the home crowd in some s takes over the lead down the back straight here [Applause] and once again similar to mark English generosity in a strong position for Ireland to go by them fans of him Baram who was eight at the university games 830 5.73 as his best oh so I'm the strongest athletes in this competition but now God well could this really be his moment not to similar fashion to Philippines to Britain yesterday really pushed on look at the Lithuanian their leshan skits battling all because me just catching up to what was happening there the camera shot changing need another look at that if we saw the others come through oh wow back on his feet maintains the lead of this race water moment it doesn't even look like her that gap has suffered too much but his heart will be in his mouth Tom the Earl in Kerrville with a lucky escape there now he's got to do this water jump visit our insightly now I think it was just maybe ever so slight lapse in concentration did a full 360 on the ground but he's almost done escapes down his home straight save something for the last as well rubbing his cheeks in relief a fist in the air before bought of Norway another victory for them the sick for this competition Rossiter coming through the line there at the Hungarian and the Belgian I think that was well he felt back significantly in the second place he was in in the early stage of the race but that moment of drama initially quarter out of the corner of our eyes all credit to the Norwegian producer for getting in that replay incredibly swiftly so he's coming through here just under 400 meters to go [Applause] it was not an early celebration it's almost like in Formula one where you see them do it donuts and there's no way easy they come out and say yeah I meant that it certainly added a bit of razzmatazz for that race though I don't think I've ever seen that before Anna Emily molar actually in Geneva a couple of years ago leading by a good part of a maybe 100 meters down the home straight completely messed up the last hurdle but still came through and win and won and with a slight blush on her face but yeah unorthodox way to compete the last lap of the steeplechase but quite a moment maximum points for Norway helping their promotion campaign I wonder for Las Venus Siena will do the same so just over 60 meters there 67 at best that fantastic new PB that I mentioned doing a fourth overall in the European list in 2019 he would have hopeful he will have one more go Kivar go of Hungary who was only managed 58 66 when you consider that he's a 69 meter throw at best albeit some time ago 60 273 this year would have got him inside that top four and enables him one further go so we're looking at the athletes lining up for the women's high jump here that's so the Romanian Danny honest and shoot Claire or cell speaking to some the Belgian representative here one of their top their hopefuls for this competition missing a couple of athletes here including the bull A's and such but still a great performance from Jonathan succour in the men's 400 meters over which they are so ridiculously strong Karina 2r and a note [Applause] the only athlete who's ever managed two meters from 20 year old Annabella Neto of Portugal and people Rogan the Irish woman who has had a fantastic year improving her lifetime best of 1 meter 89 so be interesting to see how that competition unfolds including men's triple jump earlier with Machado on the top no surprise at all something thought it might be a bit more of a gap - at Greco who was sensational and improving throughout each round then a Schalke 20 points individually that's massive Tom air link or block despite that hairy moments with 400 to go 852 his time including that unexpected somersault Oh pitiful way over preparing in the discus ramaa vicious well now this is time for the last throw for each of these top four men and Rama vicious then he is in fourth place 6237 with fur for deeper in the background 13 centimetres further so they each get one last go and that difference between getting 11 points for the win 8 for 4th place could be fairly significant another part of the unique format of this competition and let's see how in Falls the discus now taking center stage it's the moment for abdominal issues [Applause] the great tradition following on from virgilius alack now so not gonna be an improvement for him yes oppose that see anything there is a potential anticlimax see if they really go for it and all foul but the opportunity is there to get those extra few centimeters and climb up a couple of places in the standings we will talk about Claire or cell as one of Belgium's top hopefuls of course Philip Miller nail and another having competed in the shop but yesterday this is his favorite event he needs that world standard of 65 meters hasn't managed it here unfortunately he has improved around his series though so every chance he could do their fatigue go 60 to 50 his best and 72 centimeters her head is milonov quick Matt's there commentator so correct he will have four throws over 59 meters yes so an opportunity for milonov definitely of course he'd be the villain if he stole maximum points from all las Dunas center but simple way to what was said about Pichardo in the triple jump you feel as though his center with 67 meter best could still respond now looking a bit drier than it was earlier it's all figure of Philip milonov so really once a throw over 65 meters oh and that could be what he needs maybe a little short of that but he actually loves it 64 22 would help put him ahead of his sender so at the very least he's gonna challenge the Norwegian this is what we wanted from this final round milonov 64 55 his seasons best arm what's the frustration 64 73 and you can see all those in first place he wanted that Doha qualifying standard so hopefully though with that new SB next to his name he still will have an opportunity to get that distance or indeed still be given selection by the Belgian Federation so always pleasing one will know exactly what the reaction means and that is the case for Filip milonov in the lead taking over from the center but not so that world standard best of luck to him if Senna trying to improve him from the home crowd this could be another great throw [Music] Wow again it's close to 65 meters I have a feeling there will only be a matter of centimetres in this what a finale to the men's discus so discus disappearing towards the floodlights in the stadium she is from the crowd what is the measurement here for all the spoon is his center he's done it he has responded as we felt we could seven centimeter separate them in the end sixty-four 1864 73 sunglasses not needed there from bellow I wonder if he'll be well those people who lose them and then will think he's lost them and then realized oh yeah [Music] that really delivered a sort of knowing handshake from milonov beaten by a great competitor in what was a thrilling couple of throws well that was one of the best members of the day so far so from the discus a little way over to the shop put two bits kaya wants more for Belarus so 1829 in the first round and then no measurement in the second 1878 sees were just a recap on what happened while we were watching the discus she has improved forty nine centimetres JD is down ten place so hoping to improve at least by 34 centimeters now 200 meters half laps of the track for these women and competition after that fly Kotova just one of two athletes to double up across the women's sprints which was really tough to do because you had to run two races within 25 minutes of one another as far as Missoula was concerned blanket over happily he had a few minutes more just on the line up from the outside so I'd be back a DNS unfortunately Sletten of my way that then for solo Jamil II Samuel dear Magnus as well well that is a surprise that I could make quite a difference to that rakion on the inside of agate over so the final of the women's 200 meters just six athletes in this so real opportunity for someone to triumph will it be bozo Lok doubling up here but not too much work for her even though there was that quick turnaround it was a eight athletes places in the final across 11 nations similar skya gal and baguette over being chased down by a man who stabbed Belarus thereby it's also coming through the Belgium very very close on the line this one the Belarusian perhaps or bazolar that's a angle of the camera slightly difficult to tell but it was actually a good final gear from Bazo low really to challenge at the last and it is she who holds on 23 78 from similar sky just look at through the center here buzzer low pervert see - Kyah outside - in the Portuguese athlete holds on by a hair's win perhaps dreadlocks with or two [Music] [Applause] so Lauren bazolar really good helping appoints for Portugal overall all nastiness is Senate same thing for Norway 11 once again for then following up a cord of all and that's the thing when you see a few top performances in quick succession it will make all the difference to the standings which we will look at in due course for Zolo there's two races in 26 minutes on Friday just gotta be shattered from that occasion maybe it wasn't that hard to get through Agnes shipped piano one of those we lost the Lithuanian in the opening rounds somewhat a surprise right back to the woman's shop but we are in the third round just concluding it in Factor norbit's the Belgian 13 meters and 10 in the second round let's have a look at her effort here so she needs a 77 centimetres improvement to overhaul Mikaela Walsh of Ireland's 1387 is her best doubled up here so early stages of the women's high jump this is at Tonia fungal turn clearing at 175 I believe the bar is at indeed so just the two athletes clear at this height both are done so it the first time I've asking the other that's Tanner do a nice go of Slovakia still the athletes so wrapping up warm because the conditions remain overcast conformation then particularly interesting that those two athletes who DNS is that even afraid is DNS who didn't start they share the points equally between them because they're equally ranked effectively and they don't get their times from the preliminary round carried through otherwise it would be five for Netherlands and four for Ireland so I think garland getting an extra half a point out of that interesting rule but fair that they do in fact get points even though they didn't start participated in the competition on Friday Hargens so she was trying to become the third athlete to clear at 175 her Annabella NATO of Portugal haven't made it over of course a number of athletes including Karina Turan declare or sell and hipper rogen of Belarus Belgium and Ireland respectively yet to enter just look too happy about it but early on in the competition [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] you're watching live coverage Sheeran of the European selects Team Championships firstly from Sunnis in no wife - you want me to final starting yoga Antony's a Portugal 20.7 at best a late substitution for Federico cool very low we're initially selected Thank You Boris alongside NPV for the past 2000 into this year this is Robin van der Benton part of the Belgian 4x4 gold medal winning relay squad up it he ran the heats medalist a small volcano Slovakia national record of 2002 for 60 meter champion event [Applause] 21 muscles they're very envious I must say Thomson European under 23 finalists and he's done well to make it into the top eight have you considered it he was ranked 10th overall coming in shot there of Lawler of Ireland coached by his mother Patricia an international sprinter in the 1980s there he is like number four the full line at though Johansson from the inside just cows cows volcko Lawler Correa Vander bendin Boros and Antonis the men's 200-meter final so looking for another place race I wonder whether volcko will be they want to triumph just as he did over 60 meters at the European indoors in Glasgow we're doing well here so needs the ban so tooth gaya van defendant of Belgium coming through the center also Mahler battling to stay in contention here comes Gary are there against volcko so the Dutchman just takes it and that could be so important for the Netherlands they've had their fair share of disappointments particularly in the fall by one yesterday really disappointing final change over just over a tenth of a second though garrier takes it from Slovakia's finest young volcko great over 200 400 against third-place 2108 his time are more comfortable than some of the other Sprint's that we've seen [Music] easy [Applause] Gary I actually ran that race into a -2 m/s headwind as well so across the weekend although the weather has fluctuated generally be it rain or sunshine or just this general fire time we checked out that result in all Netherlands from Slovakia Belgium and Ireland another decent placing for them portugal yoga antennas so beaten fairly considerably by the Netherlands there they have Melissa Berkman in the shop woods that one's release anima out towards 18 meters for Berkman on the right-hand side at the moment Aliona dubitzky we've seen both of the throws that she's registered 1878 the best and then to relly Turkish national record holder 1811 I need to march on world ended champion 1766 that is your top three but can change that 17 [Applause] improvement these are the final rose the top please exciting as that wonderful discus finale between Philipp Villanova Belgium and all us do this is sinner I need to Martin 19 metres this year so has she done enough to improve from there because just to recap to relly on 18 metres 11 she's getting shoulder massage though send the Hungarian coach my way please [Music] a shot in the air will they ever throw the foot so that effectively confirms the full result do get skya 1878 that best was what was needed to take maximum points for Belarus divots kya she is centimeters off her seasons best that would be something for Twain for here [Applause] how to say the results well they've been some thrilling battles of the many different natures across the run jump and throw disciplines Wow is that an ice lolly in this weather extraordinary thomna Ehlinger codebook despite that test steeple chase fall on the last lap you really must go back and watch that still manage to win the race just as comfortably as the Inga Britain's we'll see Henry's later on the men's 3,000 meters discus final throw also was brilliant that we saw there haven't been too many lights on lists I think it's fair to say part of that has been because of the winds but to relay kiltie the roamers triple jump yesterday got a break in the illegal winds so to speak to register a lifetime best the Norwegians have also won through head to Hoonah in the 800 meters and color in Berkeley glove doll they're just watching a replay there of do bits kya hai time perhaps that we have a look at what's ongoing so shop book concluding the here for the women now high jump is in action in the early stages the men's pole vaults is happening indoors in the Thunder spiral and that was moved because the fears of lightning and not being able to get a a reputable competition underway so the women's pole vault took place this morning and the men's is ongoing now and they've actually allow spectators there for free because that late change to ensure there is a crowd in which there are alarming number of sunglasses and ice-lollies out there I think that's just a symbol of the changeable Scandinavian summer weather there's always funny when you can't see one of the the wind gauges or wind socks to look at things fluttering to see gauge from that how strong the wind is women's high jump tonya engleson believe we've gone up to 179 another clearance for the norwegian from her to come you would say some bananas also being eat and that is more like it i'm in fact had around ten or eleven bananas across this weekend so some issues of overconsumption of potassium and certainly don't know how many bananas you actually have to eat before it's a danger to your health let me know the norwegian host providing lots of healthy fruit in fact at lunchtime and dinner there is barely a cake in sight and of course that's an athletics competition and even though you are covering it as a journalist as a broadcaster you don't really want to put on weight when you go to a sporting competition it's embarrassing i'm sure i've done it in the past women's 5,000 meters his next on track roxanna Barca second didn't at Vassar two years ago this is yet Massenburg the impressed of the European 10,000 meter cut for European on a 23 champion four years ago now [Music] hungry Morgan or Norway this is Loretta can tutor Bolivar Slovakia for new let McCormick Mariana Machado develop at the European under-21 a silver medal despite at all Tatiana karna yanker doubling up here for over 3,000 meters so another who could get a really strong helping at points then kill each of Turkey and blowing a kiss to the camera camera that was that Hannah ever driven it was to the camera generally maybe someone specific so on the way the tall figure of it rustenburg the Dutch out late 15 minutes 15 at best she's represented the Netherlands after the Olympics World Championships and Europeans and when we talked our significant international representation after mentioned that vanilla McCormack formally you may remember her as vanilla Britain three times the Libyan have completed competed in the steeplechase the 5000 to 10,000 meters as well as issues for their training in [Music] over the last few weeks the first woman to defend the European cross country title in 2011-2012 for that the Europeans behind her Kalin yo Kelly Grove doll but she's not up against directly here but dropped out winning the 3000 meters and doing less brilliantly over the 1,500 but still using their quality to get Norway in a good position the Hungarian athletes who would have seen her team at Victoria vac Nagar cursed with the steeplechase yesterday usually hungry one of those teams you've had seem to have to study different kits where is Queen a wet one is there solidly red our notice that something Lithuanians all in green which does help certain distinguish them from the all green of Ireland's 78 second lap there I have seen some fairly tactical battles shadow in a good position right on the outside [Applause] machado is not to let a late substitution for catchy Santos or Portugal I have to say a little bit surprising to see a Portuguese team without the veterans like an adult she Felix the European champion back in 2012 Jessica blue stolen even Saaremaa era as well the European indoor 3,000 meter champion of Half Marathon winner as well but there are many very experienced Portuguese athletes and many impressive youngsters and Marianna Machado is one of those obviously choose the bright young talents well and and then keep them in the sport until their mid to late thirties there's even a 40 year old Portuguese discus thrower but many great veterans no sign yes so we'll keep you up-to-date with the women's high jump as well a quick look across tells me that the bar remains at 179 a little bit more more attrition that we saw the previous hides and angles the net oh rogon ta'rhonda and/or cell have all cleared at the first time of asking rena statue and I did of Hungary Romania and Turkey or have one failure to Nazca of the slovak republic has two pages so finola mccormick controlling this race stage she's gonna come through with nine laps to go shadow Bastin bird or in this seating group and they go along like train carriages at the moment in two separate packs the Cormac Rastenburg Barker are your top three that it's for brueggen Machado Ronnie Yoker strong in the 3,000 meters yesterday in this pack is that killings who's in the second group Norwegian Volgin is in there also can shooter of Lithuania back to the front [Applause] so a little bit cool man went back six months after pregnancy to finish a tea with the world cross country championships last year mentioning that Davila Kielty managing a similar feat and you can't fail to be impressed by that recently saw the news that a McDowell the great British chef wanted me to heard low and she's had a bit of an injury season this year but she has taken a break to have her child herself partner Brian so McCormick very much in control this race three minutes six there that last kilometer back to the hi job then with a bar at 1 meter 82 of versed she's got 45 seconds on the clock roughly by the time she gets back into the startup the start of the run up position [Applause] well look at that her teammate Marius oddness bargain has got right up to the back of that first green 322 the first kilometer and then 307 four seconds under six well would have been some feet hazards she managed to compose herself three sets and deliver the clearance slightly unique rule in this competition in that overall throughout it you're only allowed four failures so that's a irrespective of the usual three goes at each heights women's long jump soon to get underway also just to get some food get some space and there's a little shake of a head there just reeling their way through well 87 second lap that time around not dissimilar to a few of the races that we've seen this competition again it's a little Iranian really trying to battle flag to hold that position for as long as possible and the rest of him Tudor was also in the second group they pretty much all closed up they haven't deep everyone now running together also just to see be 194 so she will want to go higher the brueggen wants to be higher up the red sea like sliding doors the core max run the outside but a DejaVu with camp shooter there on the inside who is going to really push on and take control of this race we find laps to go in two kilometers remaining [Music] got a good helping of points sir for Portugal in the 1500 meters Machado seems expert at doubling up and she's doing it here in the 5000 Turan de what have you got for us but so much hard to spare that was Morty [Applause] Karina Toronto two meters her best we are only here at 182 possibly a bit of a surprise that she has entered the competition quite early at 179 but you never quite know sometimes in the high jump you never know whether the rain comes down and that would be a disaster if she didn't get a market at all because it would mean no points if she no heighted I think many have a clue and so I've got their measurement was doping recent Belgium in the hammer yesterday really gutting for her but I think you saw that she wanted to take the risk and when her season's best would have got her in the top three really go for it and try and get eight points rather than just one point play safe vanilla with Cormac back to the front of that race and back where she wants to be in this 5000 meters from Basten burg my teammate Pippa Rogan is cleared at 182 meanwhile in the high jump so all selling to Randa and Rogan now over that Heights and they are starting the early stages in the long jump in the pole vault just quickly bar at 5:46 that's happening in doors at the sunless Harlem so paradise Alaska Slovakia brings the bar down first failure at this height these are just updated to say that's her second failure that means she's had four overall just working for the graphic to come up and confirm this is the case but I believe that would be unable to progress further but she's in sixth overall still I think Stan she of Romania could move above her she has left Idina turkeys out so too much Tudor on Lithuania and Harkins so they have three failures at 175 so you will have four overall but obviously as per usual three failures at one Heights [Music] alison has had a good competition in front of the home crowd this is her second attempt at 182 up till then she had had a perfect record well it's a start start off with the run-up but she absolutely loves it headed hounds but if a relief in the reaction don't know what she said there cuz my Norwegian isn't that great but as I highlighted earlier there is a potential for international swearwords but [Applause] she gets the clearance 197 her lifetime best more to come last 200 meters of this 5,000 raised two nights ago and slightly less than that now the Cormack still out front and you felt with her experience her fast that she would have enough to get maximum points for Ireland housing quite sealed it at this point look at the youngster Machado of Portugal straining every sinew doing so well in the standings the Portuguese their daughter and Baker in the long jump going as well they lead the Spanish by 19 points from Belarus with nine third and the Netherlands back in fourth Ireland incidentally just maintaining a couple of points ahead of the Belgium and Romania in seven so vanilla McCormick is hopefully going to live there not the standings from an Irish perspective vanilla McCormick such a talented runner in terms of her range right up to the marathon the bowel sounds it's now a bit of a break Wayne Bastin burg not able to respond at this stage but here you know they've closed up to each other once already but visibly musing moving faster now McCormick in the green of Ireland out grunts hoping to give them back victory but she'll have to fend off the Challenger but Roxana Barker of Romania just being coming more and more of her her position and it's now the leading position Machado takes over second place but Brooke are looking slightly tired it has to be said so rounding this top band really strong finish from Roxana Barca that's expecting more from Baba Chaya of Romania who won the 1500 meters a couple of years ago but Roxana Barca look at this final gear down the home straight Machado grits her tea and mcCormick another strong helping of points but led for so long in bursts at the end is Roxana Barca fantastic past 200 meters for her just inside 16 minutes from Portugal Ireland and Belgium Battenberg really fading towards the end of that race having been in second for such a long time the absolutely exhausted Romanian flies across the track belt faces almost the same color as the service thrilling thrilling race and how different did the complexity the complexion of it look compared to the pack running altogether and bark of merely stringing them out at the end there's a European editor a lead for Machado of Portugal finishes in second just as she did at the European under 20 times in Boris in Sweden last month let's go to the high jump where Claire or seller Belgium try to psych herself up for her next effort so the bar has now moved up to 185 just trying to work out how many athletes are left in Anabella Neto as we look at her Portuguese spectators in the crowd three failures at 182 unfortunately so it means that Logan to Randall or Salim engleson have progressed this is border HTM stat the teammate of anguish and throwing in the long jump here first round looking close to the board they're [Applause] excellent in fact so reasonable way over six meters 616 there's a little further for all that oopsy on stunt we're in third at the moment let's see here why'd she do that at all mighty whack [Music] [Applause] well that bar was wobbling like jelly Anglin I love how the official in the background just is very much professional and the only action depending on when the athlete clears or not there might be here Pettersen the hurdler who is cheering on the background straight on with their or sell Oh terrific no chances there she's really in the mood for this competition and Belgium do need a few higher placings and they've had so far and the same that also one of their better athletes set core in the 400 meter Jeff they fall by foot will be interesting but no ball lays here unfortunately so as things stand or sell the Angus on over 185 Karina to randon and they've been open of Belarus and Ireland have perfect records long jump also ongoing so keep you on track of everything here results for the woman's five thousand bees let's just recap that Barker the final stages coming through the only athlete soft 16 in the end Machado and McCormack's second and third on the third place for Ireland Conchita and Belova ninth and tenth though they've been some really strong Lithuanian performances maximizing their best so I think that's the second third place that we've seen for Ireland they've had five fourth places and five six places Lithuania meanwhile have had four fourth places this is the result of the women's chakra competition that we saw a little earlier on tidbits kiya Torelli Martin Belarus Turkey Hungary I think we should see some long drive now this is Alena ratar-o well she's been jumping in Sweden recently in the columns stand at the top some gone free leading the pack by young Swedish showed junior record holder now Tilda Johansson who took her sprint hurdles gold and also picked up a medal in her favorite event to which a lifetime bases are 673 beaten by the young athletes but in a good showing in that competition bettered the longest jumps of Jasmine Sawyer's the European medalist from Great Britain and also janabarta letter in the big champion now compare with us yesterday we have seen two fingerprints ins Philip and Jakob triumph in the fifteen hundred and five thousand meters now no pressure Henrik so this on the outside for the Netherlands kovash of Hungary 755 this year there is Senior Championships this is his home city coached by his father they live just minutes from this stadium since latashia sir third yesterday sahaj de another Hooser doubled up here 8:25 this year [Applause] John Travers of Ireland PC 755 Bester take one closely match this field nada of Portugal you really do feel as well as though they're going to hold on to top spot overall flatten off Belarus a star heart of Turkey this is isaac kamalii the Belgian which will be his first 3,000 meters of the year and blue suit of Romania so that's your lineup for the final of the men's 3,000 meters so the last individual track event of these championships before the relays will conclude a high jump and long jump up going on indoors as well Henrik ingebrigstsen on the inside with the shades such a talented runner with great range quality but also its rhythmic interviewee as well at the european indoors he and Chris O'Hare were actually taking hold of the microphones and joking to one another he would beat each other in the end beaten by Jakob Ingebrigtsen over 3,000 meters they had the rain yesterday it came out after Philip crossed the line but hopefully it will hold up but on ship available of [Applause] so close to seven meters [Applause] [Music] this could be comfortably the furthest job is not so far six 638 of anastasiya and when the Hungarian is our best [Applause] 676 thought osseous leading the way California just as computer did a moment ago and I really feel as though these Lutheranism have been well drilled to try and give the best versions of themselves that lifetime best for kiltie to win the triple jump yesterday but just just really being told to go for it in water inevitably gonna be some point kg tactical races the fastest athletes knowing on some occasions including the bits ins but they don't have to be a hundred percent to win but Phillip at around this point with one the half laps to go just went for it and the crowd absolutely love that one of their own but across the Norwegian team there has been some fabulous strength in depth all as soon as the center discus Carolyn graph Dolph rebound meters header Hoonah in the 800 and some top performances from those who haven't quite student on the proverbial top step as well Tobit osseous 755 this year an excellent third of the 1500 meters already to his name and written in Britain that national record he ran at the Bislett games there was a packed out sold-out stadium in Oslo but a diamond leaves 730 685 the European outdoor leopard 726 is his teammate and Wilson so two failures overall the spa oh she's not quite as lucky this time I want as she's certainly giving it everything and giving a good show [Applause] sahaj down the Slovakian seventh in the 1500 meters yesterday a twenty five point six nine [Applause] focus determination commemorat Ingebrigtsen doesn't want to be caught in the middle of the pack like Carolyn robbed our walls [Applause] Slovakia Lithuania Belgium through Kamali in third place sub 8 minutes at best his first 3,000 meters of the year the Hungarian trying to make up progress on the outside they won the women's 3000 liters steeplechase yesterday and also the men's hammer day one is now switching to the high jump because Claire or cell clearing 185 she's looking really confident here but she'll want to go up a few more heights then entering contrary so quite and see how that competition progresses with the engleson or cell Tyrande and Rogin in on the bar at 185 Hungarian has moved to the front that's Benjamin Kovach represented his country at the European Championships indoors and out together a big lifetime best in fact indoors in February 755 nine to one that was tall and the graphic of the start of the race very much mashed together at this stage [Applause] meanwhile well what looks like we had a pass at this height from in the top athlete men birdies the bar at 5 meters and 51 and looks like saundra cut instead of Norway and err Seuss Ozma of Turkey are left in Joker Ferrara Portugal assured fourth place another strong helping for him that competition switched to indoors because the fears of lightning so that's happening at the Sun this Harlan the Belgian looking particularly strong 800 meters to go co match of Hungary then still our leader Kemal II of Belgium second spot hasn't been a particularly good position to be in throughout some of the distance races we've seen particularly a rustenburg of the Netherlands who was there for so long and the women's race the 5000 meters then fading back somewhat [Applause] haven't mentioned Doran rousu of Ireland's sorry up at Romania Elsa I was focused on John Travers of Island living through their butter rousu 807 at best Travers 755 another Irishman which has some great responses of the British - tribe over the years so when is Henrik Ingebrigtsen gonna choose his moment to push on is it going to be at the Bell or with 200 meters to go or is someone else gonna spring a surprise and really upset the applecart not least the home her faithful here in some nests we've got a lake round the back of the stadium the rain was almost turning the track into a lake yesterday sir Inga Britton begins to push on Travis battling shoulder short with the Belgian want to race this is turning out to be we've got a late round the back though and the in the British and have been running circles around it under the tutelage of their father yet for years and years since they were yay high but England facing a real challenge here from the Belgian athlete but a Xia's trying to get inside the top three once again possibly one step higher last 200 metres looking over his shoulder is Kamali that anxiously so Ingebrigtsen must by news surely not going to get caught out like Bob Bell did Bert asius starting to fight now what a surprise here isaac kamalii a Belgium from Henry King of Britain and a dip on the line there for boffin who really entered two proceedings in the final stages where was he with 400 meters to go that's what I want to know but isaac kamalii his first 3,000 meters of the year but no cobwebs at all if there were any he blew them off straightaway when he blew away Henry King of Britain down this home straight Wow Henry King of Britain in a very honest interview previewing this competition he said the best that the three brothers could do is win their events unfortunately not managing to do so I wonder whether his teammates in the high jump points not judging by that we've just got the high jump in there isaac kamalii eight minutes and nine but the Norwegian record holder with a PP this year in Oslo 736 [Applause] stunned somewhat there or cell Highjump Belgium 185 what's interesting because the live results just taking a little bit of time to update so I understand of the bar has now moved up to one meter ninety so that's again she's looking in fine form lifetime best this year of 194 and one of Belgium's two hopefuls and they need all the points they can get so yes now fully up to date you can see there on the left hand side terrific at 190 result of the 3000 meters and glory for Belgium just as they may get it in the high jump at a moment's time 11 points and really needed 11 points but there's no question that that's a surprise Henry King to Britain in his home city beaten here like popping dials indeed just keep see my sabotages of Lithuania out of a second consecutive top three in a matter of days now this is a big hopeful for Lithuania edges matusa vicious in the jab slightly disappointed look on his face now I believe that is the 80 meter mark on the right hand side there that he's just short up with 70 to the left of it so that was a really powerful throat just coming down short that didn't get the speed that he would have wanted on the runway as improved throughout the series and into the second round and a chance to father while this complete competition about to conclude on the track but in the field plenty of long jumping still to happen as we look at ever leave a gap so this is the tenth number three for her saw island so Ruby Mia is a background story sister Vanessa who senior Irish international debut in the 400 hurdles unfortunately Chester missing out but her sister Ruby here in the long jump also and Ruby in fact there she is was parts of the European under 20 team missing out on the final there you can see just how the wind has continued it's been quite consistent throughout the three days of competition here in Sunnis incidentally I was told that locally here the regional accent and dialect means that the D tends to be fairly sound its son s there is if you're from Oslo you might said son yes Karina Tyrande gives the high jumper definitely stand now a deep breath is indeed the heard layers above Edison who's of watching on there is Henrik Ingebrigtsen I have to say from the back of his head he looks very similar to yacon so it looks like what it's all sell who will go first she's close to that lifetime best now 192 now going up by 2 centimeters as it will continue to do so if or cell can continue to clear this height but she has had a fabulous competition and improving athletes I'm watching her at the Brussels diamond league in that Stadium last year she was when the Belgian is getting a great opportunity to be a great stage and since then it improved to one meeting our default Aranda so she passed at 190 that's why you see her previously don't just shake her head there she raps waiting for the right moments another Russian flag supporting her in the background ta'rhonda fantastic really waited for her moment pulled everything out the bag and simmered up some great strength and athleticism and we could still have more to come so that pass at the previous height of 1 meter 90 paying dividends in the end one less jump will be in her legs as well just look at how strong that record has been apart from that failure there so the relays of the 4 by 400 meters will conclude the competition Lithuania will go on the outside section Deanna disappointment unfortunately for her the individual competition modest Kaieteur though she had a good run yesterday about a nighter and illuminated the kites smile for her European under-23 champion 400 meter hurdles in an absolutely thrilling race larger victory on the line Niklas Romania this is an SME so doubling up here and the relay in the 400 hurdles senior Irish international debut for the based athletes and Slovakia will go on the inside here so just to explain as we saw yesterday there is an a file on the be final and it's based on x alone that is how the points will be decided hope you've enjoyed the coverage here from Sun Ness and hopefully a few more surprises good times and some excitement to come so the last few races to come down here before the curtain closes Slovakia Ireland's Romania and Belgium the first of the women's 4 by 400 meter relay finals soku kites well Belgium also talked about that race of the European countries in Sweden sheep had seen at the Italian Olivieri really struggling getting that last hurdle and flapping in the last few meters and just focused on her race and just got her on the line that's a ruminator of Lithuania the leadoff for them close to Heinz Ireland will have a Welsh drama and a Sharlee morally excellent relay runner both 4x1 and 4x4 to come and Manas gated psyching herself up there as she received the baton with a bit of work to do Laos and Walsh of Islands it's a stagger now and whines gazanova excellent 800-meter runner two minutes flat this year just to remind you they're all going four times and on that basis Belgium once again looking really strong they actually won the before by 100 meters [Applause] Morris chitin look at her finish here because lived away anywhere in last place at the end of the first leg at least so while the stagger continued on the outside but now moving up a couple of spots and that's particularly impressive and littering in it need all the points that they can get [Applause] [Applause] look at this lady for Belgium great great battle in behind they've got Lithuania Romania Islands double and savatya sticker now really beginning to close tiring Belgian athletes diet and it's more of a battle than their na Akins was it expecting for halfway points now pretty much Linus turn single file can now Charlene Maudsley makeup space doubled up at the European under-23 is Irish relay learning has been so strong particularly an age group level the national junior record at the world under 20 to get a silver medal the likes of Gina Ahmed Moses Phil Healy and Kieran Neville coming through in the last couple of years unfortunate for patients Jimbo Kula she just lost a couple of places at the end of her life but wow what a finale here Ireland on the inside the turned and look of Maudsley Pluto over of Slovakia and then Romania shaking from side to side is Mick loss so mossy just gets the line first it looked like three 35.78 get a pen get a piece of paper mark down that time as we await the second of the two finals smile breaks out on the face of Charlene Mosely [Music] [Music] good battle right to the line one that was just possible settle with the naked eye so that Irish team will see that and that mess in here she may have been a little bit disappointed to just miss out on the individual form you'd heard also great that she's able to smile after that great performance real a player or cell here of course ribbing me a in the long jump competition that's ongoing so also she really has tried to give everything here for Belgium national pride at stake what your teammates do matter Lithuania javelin the two seditious top right man in this competition and indeed the leader Wow a throw over 80 meters the first one that we've seen so far just looking to see if there's a white flag 82 35 we just recap here so improving throughout his series wonderful national record this year 89 17 bring in third in the world behind a Magnus Kitts 1961 in contrast to last year when in one event alone in Doha we saw three men over 90 meters for the first time ever configuration so Charlene Mosley coming through for Ireland really impressively to hold on to that victory the athlete from County Tipperary second overall the four by one and four by four Vassar 2017 so this is how the Palmach finished gooo Thompson taking maximum points for Norway let's have a look at the standings just a few more events to come then and Portugal still leading 27 points and you feel they'll hold on now but Belarus impressive in second place because that you really filter as though Norway would I thought you have so many victories of course ingebrigstsen just finishing second but that only means that they're not tying and second by the way if two teams do tie on points as you might have expected it goes down to the number of event winners and then second places and so on instead of Norway in the long jump so we are coming towards the end of the third round and Onstad has the best of 616 this is around the same little bit further lost 2.6 you can see the wind helping her there you're watching live coverage of the conclusion last few efforts of 11 nations vying for a national pride and glory at these European athletics Team Championships in San s in Norway once again we'll have Lithuania on the outside the men's 4x4 final a so it's in fact those my season's best ranked slower shall we say nope always for Belgium but they do have secured the individual winner and also Romania but our hope is they'll graduate Parga individually decent Irish quartets Chris O'Donnell very impressive finish to his race yes they looked like Andrew Mellon the local go say hello lose no that's dumb or Slovakia so it'll be all eyes on the clock so all goes pretty silent here in the stadium the men's 4 by 400 meters final a [Applause] slow back Republic Ireland Romania Belgium and Lithuania baton in hand lovely close-ups of the tracks of this year the same as the one in Sweden we have the under-23 European Championships so well cannot speak so this is how to deal with Belgium trying to finish this one strongly support wasting all the ways he is expected today on the last leg so waiting for this stagger to unwind will get a clearer idea of proceedings down this back straight Belgium from Ireland leave that is Andrew Mellon Romania he did see the through when you're last at one point and I'm really at a halfway point entering into contention so could be all change but look at how the Irishman but it grew on the outside schedule the hamper crosby enforce cell also change over the Turanian and a change of kit as well Fisher not ski down to go on their third lay so island Romania Belgium Slovakia and Lithuania in that order looking four times [Applause] watch honking they were not quite decided yet [Music] the Irish quartet once again looking very strong want to see how they might shape the second of the two finals just as they did a couple of years ago looking good so secure has the button for Belgium why to get one to Romania [Applause] once again divisive use of sunglasses from the Romanian and what is significantly overcast weather the here comes the Belgian coming into the home straight now what's a bunch of this is possibly a three-way one [Applause] he's upon your Romania orphan Island are just going to hold on terrific last year in the last 50 meters 308 point eight four once again taken note of that time really good job once again from an Irish quartet and appalled by 400 meter relay which they've the 10th the head of the Belgium in terms of time and they're just over a second ahead of Romania there's quite a big gap for some of the other teams our slot in too far but the overall standings for the 4x4 will Island feature across these relays they've done all they can ratar-o now next to go in this long jump competition so just to catch you up you've got Imran shik a van over 676 they go and [Music] when of Hungary so we go into what is the final now where they each have one more effort in the background couple of athletes there and looked [Applause] Netherlands would be me a watching on she just seen her sister we were maybe four by four six they won the best for me and we'll tie room well has she improved in this last round 661 only two centimeters is needed in terms of improvement to move up the standings in a second place we saw this format at the end of the competition work so so well in the discus competition it was on last dinners his center in the end who initially saw himself go behind to milonov with his last effort and then Senate back in front ah unfortunately no improvement for retiree from a romanian point of view and retiree has had a good season 691 is her seasons best in pv so might have wanted a bit need for this competition that will taking the lead and the wind is in their favor as well there are jumping the opposite way to which the athletes run down the home straight this is Emily's Baker one last go for her with these European team challenges needs 676 she's 15 centimeters behind I'm not sure was good on the board I think was a red-black it was but Portugal sailing to promotion and springing us a surprise from the point of view of some but the like surfer Pichardo who won the triple jump earlier Vega is going to get second spotter overall distance runner doing really well Arina rodriguez win the discus on day one Nastasia Miranshah Kevon over [Applause] getting a 1 more point than Portugal here but the gap is considerable last time we looked it was 15 points so after 36 events out of 40 it is showing as 23 backup for 23 now no it's a white flag so looking to improve on what she's personal machinist father this is the only athlete to manager over 7 meters in her lifetime in 30 year old 693 her season's best gave it a good go and that's what you see it is European team chat chips competition right to the line [Music] [Applause] fluctuated but been that very strong headwind in their favor another victory for Belarus they split hurdles to put in a good showing in high jump [Music] so mister recap Karina Tyrande who needed to go over the bar rather than under to run der goes under [Applause] so that confirms her victory in fact Clairol sell and put in an excellent showing let's just have a look where things end up in the end of course only four failures across the competition allowed all sales best clearance 192 Randa managed 192 engleson and Rogan with fourth place for Ireland for an athlete kipper Rogan who has really improved this year and talking about and those are the standings at the moment with one more final remaining and life's over O'Donnell Moseley and me a help them get top spot so far we're still more runners to come here is how the standings look then 22 points that lead for Portugal so effectively you know we're not going to see them fail that significantly here are we you would have thought that the Netherlands would be higher up but perhaps it's fair to say stronger on the track but we did see dental common entia win the men's shop but quite convincingly particularly as that was a strong field it had the likes of saenko or unknowns of the Portuguese national record holder who won in Vaasa a couple of years ago so javelin still ongoing now that long jump has concluded so to pole-vault it is just the B finals of the four-by-fours and also javelin remaining so it's the fourth round for the top athletes in those first four placing starting off with permanent Belgian the beautiful swallow dive and the screen 74 89 his best not would have been improvement but giving it everything with one last go here to try and get those points for Belgium 11 versus 8 points the difference of coming first versus fourth because there are 11 nations in this competition Lithuania Belarus Hungary Belgium Romania Netherlands Slovakia Portugal Ireland Turkey in Norway that's the way that they sit in order of the points that are going to be picked up in the men's javelin unless Norbert Revis taught first of all of Hungary can do anything about it [Music] well at the moment rebus taught 77 meters and for you can see that he needs an improvement of 90 70 at 9 90 centimeters excuse me to improve brevis turns blocking to come to a dead stop on the line quiet out as far as 70 centimeter slide shake of the head he knows it 81 meters this year 83 at best so the Hungarian will get nine points for his country Thank You Hamish in the hammer winning on day one how about the Alaska trying to get the crowd going you can see just how big the gap is to the tooter vicious who is an 1892 throw at best me Alaska just seeing his teammates Tyrande with a high jump on the other side of the stadium just waiting for his moment 85 metres and one his PB 82-72 this year so he is capable I wonder whether we'll see something similar to what sir delighted us in the discus speed down the runway accelerating and then launches pushes through that javelin the transfer of energy the stop on the runway Oh unfortunately try to give it everything but just as I would the anticipation of the commentary but that's row not far enough you can just see the javelin kicks back there and landing out on the field but not as far as he wanted and indeed it is a foul interesting to note though that Belarus are going to pick up ten points and Portugal are gonna pick up four that's a gap of six still quite a lot to do in the relays for Belarus over which I feel Portugal will probably just shade it there's not gonna be a huge amount of difference more on that a moment this is matusa vicious can he pull something special out the back here the Lithuanian national record holder third best in the world this year so shorter eighty meters but he's had a good competition he's delivered what was expected for him just like Davila Kielty did in the women's triple jump yesterday and I wonder how that will affect Lithuania in the standings because their bottom at the moment by let's have a look fifteen and a half points 158.50 [Music] so motive is yes a real rising star so many great Athenian throwers over the years and across the field events marina pal shooter was watching yesterday the European Indoor champion from Belgrade two years ago outdoor silver medalist three years ago hello if you're watching indeed and to other athletes fans coaches around the world not just in Europe we had people watching in America yesterday [Music] like the lithuanian have been pretty strong our shooter was also kind of to say that i was doing okay with my lithuanian pronunciation dye did in fact enlist the help of a lithuanian friend who recorded voice notes of some of them to make sure that my pronunciations weren't way off so thank you Madonn shook Ivanova from Vega and retiree those are the top three in the long jump another strong showing in the top view for Romania I think that's their sixth if not their seventh third place and only one one event out rights I thought Alexandre Novak might place a little bit higher in the javelin actually the European under-23 silver medalist who had that gold medal snatched from his fingertips by chipping much blood of Poland those javelins waving bye-bye to this competition which ship soon I'm afraid to say we will do also is the final result of the javelin matusa vicious 82 35 11 points for Lithuania so that means they are now 10 off the bottom or 9 and a half in fact off Slovakia you can see quite a few made up 6 in fact on Slovakia and then Islands are in 9th place in the standings overall and Hungary in 8th despite three victories yes we are going to have a look at the standings before confirmation the two relays Island have obviously put themselves in a great position thus far and all my word there is so little separating it with Romania just half a point ahead of Hungary and another one ahead of Ireland at the top more convincing and that gap has opened up between Belarus and Norway and the Netherlands as well so Turkey and Belgium they look fairly assured of staying in we'll wait and see right women's 4 by 400 meter relay now if you're thinking this is DejaVu yes we have already seen one 4 by 4 for the women but and of course as there are 11 teams going in pair of eights to decide based on times who will get the points 11 available for the top team all the way down to 1 of course if you're wondering why there are 11 teams and not 12 that's because Russia because they're not only eligible to compete automatically relegated just as they were in the from the Super League I should say two years ago which was in Lille the Hungarians on the outside and our motto no partying molnár can tell you then Belarus loose Chava an incredible European under-21 the inside squeeze through for metal building our chief mechanic and catsuit over salad or Taeyang singer no way they'll also have whom we want the 400 hurdles these the Portuguese they are in touching distance of emotion turkey sandwich children Goran and kitchen div it's clever back and Ellsworth of the Netherlands so the Dutch quartet right on the inside Turkey Portugal nor Abel Belarus and Hungary just to remind you that Ireland ran three thirty five point seven seven a little earlier on three thirty five eighty Romania at three thirty five ninety three four Slovakia as we focus on the teams in this second final melons Turkey Portugal the hosts Norway started Ontarians in Belarus and fungally so I'm going very fast on the outside Sarah motto the young but very good just restricted at the European twenties and Italy really is that good that some of the juniors who've invested a true competition rights back to back to that had the chance to blend with the senior team rwby me a violent I've included that as well along with a number of others spent football they list could go on and on and should really help with their development or merit after excelling internationally as a junior they come here and try and help out their team what about in quechua Sato the 16 year old Dutch woman who is part of their real a quartet along with Helen stained the individual 100-meter winner talking of the Netherlands they are out front and salamat oh I mentioned slots once again into second place at this stage on the back straight into the top ranked confusingly which also has the alternatives don't finish that not needed on the cetacean sets Netherlands hungry Portugal Norway Belarus and Turkey hope you enjoy the conclusion of this European Athletics team chat chicks absolutely loving it look at how close this is they'll hand over now last few metres Portugal so close to promotion and they're leading Belarus comfortably here effectively securing a formality what some Portuguese fans have said on Twitter would indeed be a surprise but in the end we've had to sail across 20 events both men and women they deserved it Netherlands Portugal Norway now moving up a couple of places right onto the shoulder up almost squabbling for space thrilling conclusion I wonder the times will match up to the 335 run by the top three teams a little earlier on really gritting our teeth the Norwegians but is moving out onto the outside partly because she needs to do so to hand over Netherlands fading little so 336 97 for the Lithuanians and 330 7.57 the Belgians with a battle what they expected so they may struggle to pick up too many points overall that's this race in Portugal from Netherlands then Emily moon who kicked off the 400 hurdles fantastically well yesterday and then it was just [Music] victory for Norway can't you go have Netherlands trying to fight through the center looked at me the tall figure there for Norway is she going to come home in sadness yes she is eyes on the pockets gonna be faster than Ireland both those sir three teams I'm sure at least terrific victory and family all ensuring that Norway take 11 points so indeed that trio all faster than the winning time of the Irish women what server Charlene Mosley an SME it was close you can see on the line with the Netherlands [Applause] and the Portuguese hungry just dropped back a little so let's have a look look my Island and then gonna be full overall because it was 335 seven and Hungary of run 335 eight so the order is gonna be Norway Portugal Netherlands Ireland and Romania Hungary Slovakia Belarus Lithuania Belgium and Turkey I believe there is chanting going on from the faithful in some nests thankfully the rain has held off but Portugal have taken the reins lots of fabulous performance it has been across their team because I mentioned that they'd only had two victories overall through national mentos 100 meters and rodriguez the women discus but they led by over 20 points at the end of day two yesterday and that is that confirmed confirmed results take them no real notice of the season's best because not running a huge amount of it international four-by-fours many of these women but that was indeed what partly seeded the rankings going in the beat and a final ah one events ago what a competition still half a point separating Romania and Ireland Wow more comfortable at the fronts and that now means that Portugal are promoted because they cannot be caught with one event to go and 11 points versus zero for let's say a false start or so there are the celebrations for the Portuguese they have really put things together here think of the likes of got any Rodrigues and national mentor that I mentioned but Lauren bozo low who ran two races within 26 minutes of one another in the 100 and 200 meters are really tough event to double up in these championships the way the format panned out Machado the youngster there who stepped in today and doubled up a real talent to watch out for Mariana Machado silver medalist at the European under-21 of those who stepped up to senior level and has done a terrific job and Portugal they were there to capitalize when Norway failed to change over in the four by one when the Netherlands had an awful time of getting it round in the relays but they can be really pleased Portugal with how things have panned out they've had four victories in the end a couple more being added today just recapping so petrol padlet pasado making the most of him being the standout favorite in the triple jump 1698 was already needed in the end and Lauren brizola with an excellent 200-meter win 2378 yes not a quick time but it was a thrilling victory and a very very close one just from Cristina ximenos skya who was in second place overall and her team a second in the standings it's been a really consistent performance from belarus who won't really get from the super league a couple of years ago so perhaps we might have expected them to feature strongly anyway but selfies galore for the Portuguese well not long left to go in these championships with the hashtag for this event being at Sandnes 2019 sa ND ne s Twitter let me know what you think has been the best performance the favorite thing that you've watched here was at the discus competition where we have the absolute thrilling finale with the fifth round let me know your favorite bit of competition who you've been cheering on and what you thought some of the teams have had a few up and downs it has been a great competition overall for Norway Henry King to Britain unfortunately not able to make it three out of three victories for the brothers who have still had in their home stadium the chance to run as a major international tournament in front of the home crowd so hashtag San that's 29 team on Twitter if you're on that let us know what has been your favorite performance or what you've made of these championships the we have had nine victories a total of 99 points just from those they sit in third place they just haven't backed it up quite as well with seconds and thirds three of each whereas then Belarus have managed seven and six first and second places and then Portugal have managed a very impressive at left called for first places seven seconds five thirds and seven four places so the Portuguese managing a Mexican wave which is sometimes a sign that a competition isn't too exciting but they have every right to celebrate and that is what it's a symptomatic of and you can probably hear in the background around as well the Portuguese faithful who are suitably happy Portugal will have a celebratory run in the fair by thoroughly corrupt my 400 hurdler good use of these hurdlers aren't they true fool VA to name just a few carotenoid Bordeaux vodka and more now we watch him tie his shoelaces he goes for the double knots interesting but is it yeah thought he could have just tidying out there because that was quite a long race left hanging Stan Okoye toss stand Voigt off and let it off Belarus looks like over a the man who replaced the ill cast of our home currently but fortunate for him he gets the chance in the spotlight so they've switched those places around there that's why I'm until tentative to say them as they are on that list site pereira de santos pingyao and well you may also pay yes money Capello another hurdler who won the individual event goes on the last leg of the portuguese ramsey and gala from deepen dauber and oh god for the netherlands so once again the stadium falling fairly silent sannyasis prayed played a brilliant host to this competition the rain is just about held off today [Applause] let's see how this final event turns out Netherlands Turkey Portugal Norway Belarus and Hungary into the set position and away the last event where this European team champions first league here in Norway fairly even so far Portugal the pressure is off they already promoted over a popping is cheeps huffing and puffing Hungary around the outside then as we continue with the stagger until the second leg the rim of the glass is matching the Hungarians Jersey Turkey moving through really well we managed an absolutely amazing victory in the the 20s 4x4 there are five teams battling down the home straight hopefully we'll see something just as exciting here [Applause] [Music] so handing over now Portuguese runner has done his bit but look at this gap for Turkey here at one the men's four by one [Applause] so remember that it's all about ties [Applause] Islands round three minutes eight four nine three Belgium three minutes 0.96 Romania three minutes and tentacles islands of Romania are very very close in the standings Slovakia 313 with Iranian three for two as we turn our attentions back to this race Turkey Netherlands going to be closed here Portugal in third place they've done all they can I'm sure the glory they're going to have a fight on here with Belarus and Hungary and the Norwegians chasing in front of the home crowd [Music] [Applause] so still as you are more and more strung out in fact on this leg with quite a gap Belarus [Applause] tens of times from the first round fast finish as Portugal begins if a doesn't matter too much though [Applause] so over to the final leg the final action of these Championships here in Sun s in Norway the host just hand over battling to try and move up a couple of places in sixth overall just in this heat of course what they managed as but the pot is what matters yes Marni Capello the individual 400 meter hurdles winner with the shade on in his overcast conditions a couple of spots of rain now on the camera beautiful backdrop of the mountains wonderful throwing competition and look at this Netherlands against turkey shoulder to shoulder fighting right at the end of these Championships so to him behind but Capello justly uses experience to get to the line first head of the Netherlands a look at this battle Belarus Portugal Hungary just with the tip at the end and that is what these champions are all about the battle over Finn sixth and seventh those couple of extra points can make all the difference in the standings at the end national pride right to the death every few fractions of a set of a second every few centimeters in the jumps and throws so Capello with a victory in the end really using his class and experience in that list the top international stage but Portugal the ones to celebrate including Pedro publicly shadow one of the greatest triple jumpers ever over 18 meters at best not only did he steal [Applause] 11 points as the favorites but the rest of the team came through a new strength by strength and cross track in the fields fantastic stuff for the Portuguese and they will feature in the super league and a couple of years time then Machado now of course in Portuguese colors he'll be among those he'll certainly contend for victory and the triple jump in the top division of the European Team Championships so just going to look then at the times as we see the Portuguese guys celebrate and waiting for that time to come up for Portugal still waiting rather a long time but you know they don't mind too much it's the placings lower down like Belgium and Turkey I think it was an island and Romania in particular but I think the Irish yes by beating Romania should we find a team photo there for the Netherlands well we thought that they would challenge for promotion in the indeed they did challenge but in some areas including those relays yesterday you would have to agree that there was some disappointment but so often the European competitions full of color yellow red and green of Lithuania - the green of violence and orange and blue of the Netherlands in the end the prowess of Portugal was perfect in the end it's the red and green this very nation who cannot stop celebrating and have lit up the track in the field here in San s it has been a marvelous competition just like it was in Vassar a couple of years ago where the Finns was so consistent across all the events got promoted along with their Switzerland and Sweden and the format of this competition really impressive once again and they've been lots of enthusiastic young supporters as well they've been brought in by our hosts here to try and give them something to cheer about and hopefully become fans of the sport if not competitors as a byproduct so that's another thing that's worked well kudos to Sanus for that but the messages I'm sure of congratulations coming through as far as the Portuguese are concerned and the others who've done well across this competition nine victories for Norway they're still smiling there have been some really impressive performances two ingots and victories out of three isn't bad and ague Thomson and Grob Thailand Hoonah just those along with is Siena those I can think of on the top of my head [Music] so we'll wait and see the full confirmed standings in the end and we know that Portugal well already promoted heading into that men's fall by fall but the flags begin to come out and I'm sure these celebrations will continue for some time and it has a lasting impact as far as Portugal will concerned they'll be in a higher division next time around we're really good to see how the Norwegian crowd has raised the game of the home faithful like they have done in Poland for sure they have a really strong team waiting for those standings to come up after 40 events I wonder if there is just a result held there from that B file that could be a good reason for the delay because we still haven't got full results but we have dots that are effectively confirmed top three overall in the standings no problem do you know what this presentation is about so we're just waiting for the results of that final four by four to confirm everything there is a a sea of Lithuanians in there bright yellow Slovenia not here but perhaps he's between Slovenia and Lithuania for the brightest at European kits because they have a pretty strong green like yellow side the Hungarian team there and so this is fooled and crusty so now as expected we're gonna have the presentation as we renovate the confirmed standings here in sanus [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] showing Norwegian youngsters all given flags at the different countries and that's nice because there it means that they're doing every team on and the athletes I'm sure will react to that because they could have given them all Norwegian flags of course and can make out just about every one of the teams but the format's of these championships is one sense in which we have shown once again things excelling teammates cheering each other on being spurred on by one another because it matters you do relative to your nation school overall 11 points for first and then just finishing third can be two points lesson I think we're gonna see in a moment that that will make a difference in terms of placings after 40 events now one thing I haven't done is as the pole vault came earlier on and it was switched from outdoors to indoors at the Sunburst Harlan because of fears of lightning shown proper results from that arena shook won the women's competition where the best of 456 earlier in the day linear net seus second for Norway national record of 451 I don't think we've seen any other national records or too many certainly across all of these championships and Haman's of the Netherlands for 46 and Smits Alakazam on offer a Cisco McCartney all the way down to eighth [Applause] the men's pole vaults on daegu Thomson best-of-five 51 to take a ninth victory for Norway overall then brooders by Belgium 546 one of their better performances as soos asthma 541 in third deal ger Ferreira the same height as Ruettiger Coppola of Portugal and Netherlands respectively 4th and 5th and then camel massive itch to Belarus Shimano arrows and crash knack of Belarus Hungary and Slovakia down to 8th and then Roth getting worse and Delia paths Island Lithuania and Romania for 91 for 91 and at 471 that results in full their guard of honour for our top teams as we await those metal presentations so they're just trying to come through with those final results from the four by fours waiting on the computer for those times while a chance to say thank you to all the officials as well their hard work went down from the technical delicates the track and field judges the starters all the volunteers including the transportation as well they worked really hard as a team and I sent the same point when I was covering you haven't bought off so the under-21s how they all come together at the end of each day and have a technical meeting and it's fascinating how everyone makes sure that every bit of the competition comes together to Masek make a success [Applause] so it's great that these volunteers get their moments and the medal presentations what's remaining from these championships [Music] [Music] so outcome Belarus [Music] [Applause] so we're the results of the men's 4x4 still pending Belarus coming in off the 39 events of 4c ten points ahead of Norway so Norway would have needed to win Belarus come last were any of that to change it didn't so we know that Belarus Portugal celebrating a wonderful promotion and Ted they have some dramatic music as well and all of the Portuguese team not just the athletes sort through coach or two team manager in the spotlight as well Mariana Machado what's a star the Norwegians coming at last cheers from the home faithful there is is it our medicine for lasting this is Senna one of the highlights of the competition overdoing there who does a call-up replacing Carson bar home so he got an opportunity how many your picture fair as well I'm gonna let Lisa Portuguese guys Saturday [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] 7:30 let's get on Linden [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] so officially confirming the Norwegians third overall 266 points with nine victories Belarus took seven helpings of maximum points to the Super League just look at how delighted this Portuguese team is I'm sure their celebrations will continue long into the night we remark that there were twenty points clear yesterday but had only had two individual victories they added to that making a total of four today comparing to seven overall for Belarus Portugal going up to the Super League Rodriguez and Nash amento on the first two days and then today the triple jumper Pedro Pablo Pichardo and Lauren Turkish bazolar those who took 11 points for them is a team full of experience and young talent and I don't think you look out of place by any stretch in the super league in two years time [Music] [Applause] raise the facts of the three best teams and play Portuguese so the Portuguese team get ready to sing along with your own [Laughter] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so the Portuguese national anthem ringing out around summer's here and very passionately so dear friends what a fantastic weekend is have been for European and let they say in the European champion team championship in summers thank you so very competitions that's a place like this and indeed Vassar in Finland just hoping to put their name on the map by hosting a sporting tournament like this and they've hosted it very well so many great Nordic championships that European Athletics have put together with the good work of passionate local people [Music] [Applause] and finally the team standings after all 40 events confirming that Portugal comfortably in the end ahead of Belarus and Norway the host who had nine victories overall they brought their best you'd have to say but from the possibly the relay disappointments Netherlands they would have wanted a bit more I think we should say and then Ireland just holding on there Romania Hungary Slovakia and Lithuania goes down to the secondly well what a fabulous Championships it has been in some nests here on the west coast of Norway this city when the fastest growing in the country has been one the fastest in terms of raising popularity I'm sure a number of people now put some this on the map as the Inga Brits and brothers have been doing for years [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]
