this is what's on my heart this morning it's gonna be probably short and simple i i don't know i'm not saying this in a critical way i'm not sure we understand how privileged we are like we got this one little life and truths come to most of our hearts that's why we're here this morning so i'm not talking to a bunch of unbelievers or unsaved people i'm talking to christian people and uh like your life i don't know if you're we understand your life matters so much your life matters so much and it's a wisp and a vapor it's here today and it's gone tomorrow and the importance of getting to know jesus in a way that you have him in situations where you know him in situations where he's shaped you for situations where you're not always trying to minister you've just become a certain way are you following me because you've been with him you've become a certain way your life's been shaped by him and and what i want to talk about a little bit this morning and it seems so basic but it's so important is really getting to know him is really getting to know the lord like the reason i talk about this stuff so much is because i travel every weekend and i'm around people constantly and i've learned that a lot of people do ministry a lot of people attend church but a lot of people don't get to really know him like they could and it's not a hard message it's not a corrective message it's an encouraging message like i had this friend he said he always wanted to get to know the lord and he was so busy at work and he was so consumed with things at home and he said his life was so busy he wished he had more time to be with the lord did you ever hear anybody talk like that and he just always had a reason why they couldn't be with him and then you hear preachers say you have you you don't have a reason why not to be with him and stuff but but to really explain it i just want to explain it his testimony came to me sitting over there when adam shared about his brother this friend of mine he was busy he he worked long hours he worked like 12 hours a day and it wasn't like four four days or three days it was like six days and he worked a lot and he and he would he told me how he always felt in his heart like he didn't have time to get to know the lord and his job changed and ended up that he didn't have that job anymore so he had saved quite a bit of money and he thought you know what i've been working so hard and i've been doing so much for so long it's kind of nice not to have this job because i save money so money wasn't pressing him you know what i'm saying so he decided to take a little time so he didn't work for a whole year he had the liberty to just not work for a whole year because he had cash saved up and he thought you know i go to work again someday i'm just going to take this season and enjoy it at the end of that year he told me this crying he said it just hit him that a whole year went by and he didn't spend any extra time in the lord and he wasn't working and he always said he couldn't spend time with the lord because he was working and when he wasn't working something else occupied him something else just kind of spent his day i'm not saying this in a harsh way what i'm saying is we got to seize this moment god's made himself available you can't rightly minister effectively someone you don't know intimately like this thing is so beyond being born again to the point of going to heaven someday right it's just so beyond that it's it's christ in you the hope of glory jesus said eternal life is no in the father not knowing about him those numbers are amazing i i think that that touched my heart those numbers and and i kind of smiled in my heart i said man and then this stuff's in my heart to say that i'm saying not put that's part of christianity that's part of you guys belonging to praise but the bigger part of being in christ is knowing him knowing him is is what will help you manifest him in situations relationships workplace if you don't know him you'll carry your convictions but you might not demonstrate him are you following what i'm saying like you
